Some people say she's a machine and maybe she is when it comes to Born Bratva business. When her father gifts her with a new bodyguard named Oleg she does everything she can to torment him. Through the years of watching over the Pakhan's daughter Oleg finds himself wrapped up in a dark, sadistic, out of control love. It is the only weakness he has ever known. When the two of them finally unite it's TNT. Together they are Deadly... Roksana: From the first time I laid eyes on him I knew my life would be forever changed. It wasn’t just his sadistic nature that pulled me in. Looking into his eyes was like coming home. It was the first time I realized he was the man who could not only relate to my psychopathic need for blood; he would be the one who shared in the bloodshed I crave. Alone I am a force to be reckoned with. With him I’m unstoppable. Oleg: She is the coldest woman I’ve ever met. I never imagined there would be someone I could work side by side with but the first time I saw her I knew she would be my partner. She’s as ruthless as I am, a force to be reckoned with, and together…we are unstoppable. This is our story.
To keep up with all things Suzanne Steele you can find her on Facebook and her wordpress blog. Everything there is up to date. She loves her beautiful readers. Suzanne Steele is an Amazon Bestselling Author and television host for a TV program in the Charlotte NC area. She focuses on volunteer work and is very heavily involved in giving back to her local community. The month of October will be spent focusing on breast cancer awareness. Suzanne has a penchant for writing about dark characters with twisted behavioral patterns. If you're looking for the typical romance, this is probably not the author for you. Her characters are very alpha in nature and many times they operate under obsession for the object of their affection; rather than love. Though she does believe in happily ever afters, her characters many times have a bumpy ride getting there. She also writes under the pseudonym Stormy Dawn Weathers for her writings that aren't so darkly laced with a true realism of shock and awe. Suzanne Steele does not believe in holding back when it comes to writing about how dark and depraved her characters are in the core of their primal natures.
I am really bummed about this, but this book just wasn't working for me AT ALL...
First Oleg and Roksana's relationship is already fully formed from page one. So we don't get much buildup. There is a couple short flashbacks, but nothing that made me feel them as a couple. Second, the constant POV changes between Oleg, Roksana, and Anastacia I found distracting. Third, Roksana was just TOO much for me. I am fine with cold blooded killers as heroes, but Roksana was like a dude robot with breasts. In fact, both her AND Oleg come across as robots. SO not my thing. Lastly, I found it boring...
Maybe these things improve over the next 75% of the book, but I have WAY too many book and WAY too little time to waste it on something that hasn't clicked for me by 25% into the story.
So I just want to start by listing a few things I love about Suzanne Steele and her books! - They are all on Kindle Unlimited - We don't have to wait for a million years before the next release! - Gives us some OTT possessive alpha males - The stories are all full length and uniquely intertwined and amazingggg!
NOW! Back to my review. So I had extremely extremely high expectations for this book. I was drawn to Oleg's character from the time he was first introduced and was eagerly anticipating his story. However as expected, with such high hopes came a bit of disappointment....
I don't know what I was expecting, but I felt like I needed a bit more from Roksana and Oleg's relationship. Their relationship was pretty much completely developed before the story started so we don't really see any progression or growth... I mainly gave this four stars instead of 5 because constantly reading about there Bratva missions overpowered the story and it dragged a bit for me... I wanted to see more of this power couple and their relationship!!
Oleg was amazing of course, he didn't top Kodiak for me but he is definitely on my fave hero list. His devotion and protectiveness towards Roksana is so sweet in his own twisted way... he is an acquired taste, but I love how his heart only softens for Roksana. "Don't you know...I don't have the ability to love anyone -- anyone but you? You. Are. My. Soul. I love you, you crazy, hotheaded woman."
Now I'm not super excited for Anastasia and Dmitry (if they do get their own story), they didn't really stick out too much to me. But regardless, I am stoked for Diamond Days! Especially if I get to see glimpses of Nikita, and Kodiak :)
This is the fifth book in the Born Bratva series by the amazingly talented Suzanne Steele. I love mafia books, they are my absolute favorite genre to read and I especially love the Russian mafia. The whole Glazov family is awesome and badass and I love every one of them. This book is about Roksana Glazov, the youngest child and only daughter of Alexander & Kathleen Glazov. She is beautiful, brilliant, deadly, and a force to be reckoned with and she always keeps her bodyguard/lover, Oleg on his toes. Oleg has loved Roksana since he first met her when she was 16 years old and hiding in her father's warehouse watching him and Oleg torture someone. He knew he couldn't touch her then so he waited patiently while she teased him every opportunity she got. After badly beating a guy who was groping her Glazov told Oleg his daughter was betrothed to him. Oleg was thrilled and surprised because he had no idea Glazov was aware of his feelings for Roksana. But everyone knows that Glazov is always watching and he sees and knows what everyone is doing. Oleg and Roksana were off the charts hot as hell, their chemistry was explosive and they were fantastic together. I love Suzanne's books, she can write an alpha like no other and her imagination is unbelievable. I am anxious to read about Anastasia and Dmitriy.
It takes a special kind of reader to appreciate this series. There's nothing light about it. It's total darkness.
While every reader may not appreciate Deadly, as with every book in this series, it's a great read! Deadly is Roksana, Glazov's only daughter, and Oleg's story. Their story is not romantic. It's brutal. It's dark. It's theirs! Their allegiance is to their Pakhan and the Bratva. They feed off the other's bloodlust. They live hard. They fight hard. They play hard. They are perfect for each other.
I think it's important to point out Roksana and Oleg were raised in the Bratva, a world of violence in itself. Roksana and Oleg's self expression and how they express their love for each other are a result of that upbringing.
Another home run! I expect nothing less from this author. We journey further down the path of Glazov legacy and it a pleasure. I can't wait for the next and hope they keep coming. Its a dark romance but no cheating and HEA every time. Gangster and alphas oh my
This is Oleg and Roksana's story as well as the introduction of Anastasia!! The beautifully sadistic love story unfolds before your eyes...New business endeavors which bring back some other readers favs from previous works. Oleg and Roksana's story is one of my faves they are a whole other brand of crazy love and were everything and more then what we've been waiting for with them. Anastasia is going to be epic and I love how she is included by Glazov..not going to give any spoilers so just get this you won't be disappointed! Really can't wait for more!!
Omg! I've always been a huge fan of this whole series! But I think this has to be my favorite child so far in the clan! Absolutely love! Can't wait to see what's next from you!!!
Another great book. I love me some Oleg but I am really loving Dmitriy. I can't believe how the next book will start off. I need for all of them to be alive. You can't do this to me!!
I love the Born Bratva series and their characters, they are intense and passionate but captivating and well written. From Glazov and Kathleen to Nikita and Natascha, all books and all couples have a certain chemistry together - but Roksana and Oleg were too OTT for me. They were too psychotic, like Natural Born Killers. it almost felt like a caricature. Also the story line of training Anastasia as a pupil was not appealing. This story was just not for me.
The inner dialogue of the two leave no doubt that they're nuts! But it's a great story of two sociopathic people and together they bring pain. She looks like Mom but acts like Dad...winning formula.
I can’t believe in two days I’ve managed to read all 5 books in this series , I’m telling you once you start you cannot stop ! I just love the direction this series is going and Anastasia’s character is brilliant ! I can’t wait to start in the next book !!!
. From the first book Glazov to Deadly the series keeps getting better. Deadly is just like it's name deadly. It is also filled with the unpredictable antics of Roksana Glazov and her fiance Oleg and their friends Anastasia and Demitri. You definitely don't want to be on their bad side. I Enjoyed the book from beginning to end. Enjoy!
Roksana and her beau were Great! I loved their story. I have truly enjoyed this entire series and I can not wait for the next book in the series. The excitement and suspense is amazing in this story and in the series as a whole.
I never thought when I started this series with the book Glazov and with Alexander Glazov and his wife Kathleen's story I would find myself so absorbed in these books. Each one, if not better than the last, certainly holds its own place in the series. When you think that the Pakhan's children can't be anymore hummmm, twisted, along comes Roksana. Oleg and Roksana's story is a little more intense, a little more twisted, but still hot!! This family and their extended members' stories just keep getting better and better. There are very few books i read over and over again and this series is one of them. Thanks so much Suzanne for this amazing group of characters. Please oh, please give Anastasia and Dmitry their own book.
Deadly, is depravity at its best. Suzanne Steele has a knack for getting into the heads of her characters and letting you see just how deranged they really are. Roksana & Oleg's love is not for the faint of heart. They are often times at their best while torturing victims & seeking retribution for their beloved Pakhan. Their physical connection is off the charts HOT. I can't wait to read about Anastasia & Dimitriy.
WOW!! Another job well done !! I knew Oleg and Roksana would be explosive together !! This book is filled with so much love , more than some have in a life time , despite the things they have to do to keep the Bratva way of life going. I love this series and I can't wait for the weddings !!
I love this series. Mrs. Steele did not disappoint. I love her style of writting. I cant wait for the next book. Roksana and Oleg ... sigh.... loved their story. I dont want to put any spoilers. But if anyone has heard the song "I'm a sucker for pain" from the movie suicide squad... that song reminds me of this whole series.
Not as good as I thought it would be. I was very much looking forward to Roksana and Olegs story but it was not quite what I was hoping for. I hope the next will be better and really want to read more of Anastasia and Dimitriy. Their story definitely has the potential to be what I wanted this one to be.
I've been waiting for this book and it didn't disappoint. Roskanna and Oleg are so cute together. I love that she brought Emily back and reinvented her. She is Anastasia now. She's a bad ass Bravata warrior. Glasov is wanting grandchildren and what he wants he gets. I absolutely love this series. I can't wait for the next book. Great read and great series.
Love the Born Bratva series and Deadly doesn't disappoint. I love the world created by Mrs Steele that encompasses not only the Born Bratva series, but all her books. I can't wait to see what she has for us next!!
Amazing read as always. But Suzanne you know you are so wrong for that cliffhanger lol lol I couldn't stop screaming but nonetheless Perfection at its best.
This book was just WOW Suzanne Steele did a great job on this book. Even though it's part of a series you can still appreciate this book as a stand alone.
