About the author

Katie Kirby is a writer and illustrator who lives by the sea in Hove with her husband, two sons and dog Sasha.

She has a degree in Advertising and Marketing and after spending several years working in London media agencies, which basically involved hanging out in fancy restaurants and pretending to know what she was talking about, she had some children and decided to start a blog called 'Hurrah for Gin' about the gross injustice of it all.

Many people said her sense of humour was silly and immature so she is now having a bash at writing children's fiction. The Extremely Embarrassing Life of Lottie Brooks is her first novel.

Katie likes gin, rabbits, over-thinking things, the smell of launderettes and Monster Munch. She does not like losing at board games or writing about herself in the third person.

rahhhh this is deffo my new fav in the series!

okay so basically Lottie went on a ski trip w amber but it was chaotic as always😭
first :: phoebe the pointy nose was there ( amber’s parents are divorced and her dad’s new girlfriend’s daughter is phoebe )
second :: Antoine came once again💔
third :: Lottie had to go to a ski school where we’re only like 6 years old kids…

so this book wasn’t any less chaotic than the others🥹

Even with this book just out I’ve already read it twice! It’s another brilliant book from Katie Kirby! From the moment I picked it up I pretty much read it in one sitting. I love how’s Lottie is going on holiday with someone she’s fell out with but making up with her on the way. I also love how Pheobe from the disastrous school trip comes back, it’s a great twist! It’s funny and exciting with big twists throughout it. I recommend for 8-14 year olds even older! It’s for anyone to enjoy! Enjoy!

honestly, I love this series and I would recommend it a million times. it's super cute, funny, girly, clumsy, veryyy middle school/teenlife, girlhood core. going into sequels of books I love so much is kinda scary because you don't want to be let down, but I don't feel that w Lottie Brooks because honestly, none of them disappoint. they're so quick to read, super fun and hilarious. you will not regret reading this.

Lottie is honestly such a lovable, chaotic, clumsy, funny, embarrassing (yes, I literally have to put the book down for 5 minutes to get over the second-hand embarrassment I get), but relatable character. and I loved the plot of this book. the last one was very heavy on some of the drama and it got a teeny weeny bit serious during the second half.

but im very happy that Amber's back in this book. the drama, the chaos was just so perfect and had me audibly chuckling at many times. I rly liked the last part where monty and Lottie bond over milo (ugh-hate typing his name, poor Lotts) and where pheobe appologises in the letter.

overall, it's such a joyride and a huge comfort series🎀

W tej książce Lottie jedzie na narty razem z Amber, jej ojcem i nową dziewczyną z jej dziećmi. Główna bohaterka po raz pierwszy staje na nartach i zalicza gleby, dołącza do szkółki narciarskiej jednak jak się okazuje jest to grupa dla najmłodszych i to właśnie z nimi uczy się jeździć. W górskim domku panuje dość napięta atmosfera przez to że Tamara i jej dzieci zachowują się co by nie mówić bezczelna i bardzo niekulturalne. Jednak wszystko dobrze się kończy.

Wpada do nich też Antoine :)

O samej książce: bardzo przyjemna w odbiorze, jeżeli szukacie czegoś lekkiego, luźnego do przeczytania to warto po nią sięgnąć. Jedyny minus to, że parę razy poczułam cringe, były to krótkie sceny, ale jednak go odczułam.

moja kochana lottie. tak bardzo tesknie za tymi ksiazkami, one mi daja tyle frajdy. czekam na nie zawsze z nieskrywana niecierpliwoscia. kolejna czesc w formie, amber jest super (!!?!!?!)! juz nie moge sie doczekac na koleine czesci, a chyba najbardziej jak zacznie sie okres dorastania u Lottie🥲te ksiazki w swojej glupkowatosci sa bardzo swietne dla dorastajacej dziewczyny
