One Accident. Two losses. Three years.
Veronica Russo chases storms, but runs from her past by staying firmly in the present. Unwilling to consider the possibility of a future, she’s checked out of life by using solitude and standoffishness as her armor and a sharp tongue and quick wit as her weapons.
Coleman Cade is a walking contradiction- just like his mismatched eyes. A rough and manly bull rider with a playful side. A ladies man with thousands of willing victims, but what he really wants is one woman. The right woman.
Will Roni be able to let go, move on, and find a way to fulfill her dream of having everything? Or will unsubstantiated choices and unresolved demons stand in the way of their happily ever after?
In order to overcome past tragedies and find true happiness- in order to have Everything- Roni needs to do one thing. Find the impossible.
Laurel Ulen Curtis is a 28 year old mother of one. She lives with her husband and son (and cat!) in New Jersey, but grew up all over the United States. She graduated from Rutgers University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology, and puts that to almost no use other than forecasting for her friends! She has a passion for her family, laughing, and reading and writing Romance novels. Oh, and she's addicted to Coke. The drink, not the drug.
I have to be honest here, I started this book, IMPOSSIBLE, a few weeks ago and I just could not get into the “weather chasing” aspect of the story, so if you have the same thoughts when you start reading, then give it a minute because that isn’t the primary focus of the book. I am so glad I put this book aside and went back to it, because it is really a unique and fantastic story and I could scarcely believe that I had previously had a hard time getting into the story!
IMPOSSIBLE has fantastic characters - smart, sexy, stubborn and loving characters. What really roped me into the story was CJ. CJ is only fifteen, but he is wise beyond his years. When the young and handsome stud-muffin in the making crosses paths with the guarded and emotionally unavailable woman called “Roni,” he instantly becomes smitten and is determined to snag her… for his father ☺ This kid is the total package and at the risk of sounding like a pervert... Well, let's just say I was really glad there was an adult version of him running around ;-)
Roni is a little stick of dynamite, but she has a past so littered with pain that she can’t even stand so much as a little pinprick – it might just send her off the deep end. By something short of a miracle, CJ quickly worms his way in her heart and his handsome father isn’t far behind.
CJ and his father, Coleman are like two-peas-in-a-pod. Their father/son relationship warms my heart and soothes my soul. The pair banter like brothers and the handsome team is virtually unstoppable, a force to be reckoned with. Coleman is a great teacher and capitalizes on every opportunity to give back by passing on pertinent knowledge to the next generation of heartbreakers…
❝Finding the right woman is a lot like ridin’ a bull. You’ll know in a little over eight seconds whether they’re worth a second ride or not. And, as you know, the best ones usually buck you off a few times before givin’ you the ride of your life.❞
Upon their first meeting, Coleman Cade, Sr. knows instantly that Roni is just perfect for him.
Then there is the backbone of the Cade family, Nan. I TOTALLY LOVE HER! Aahhh! I wanted to hug her and claim her as my own! Although she might be Coleman’s mother and CJ’s grandmother, she is certainly no prude - I love her spunk! She always offers the BEST advice!
❝A lady should only ride two things, sweetheart. A horse and her man. But only after she has a solid relationship with both.❞
If you follow my reviews, then you know I am a huge fan of the curve ball in the plot. Oh yeah, you guessed it, author Laurel Ulen Curtis effectively throws a monkey wrench in everything with a super secret twist and whoa! Boy did I NOT see that one coming! High marks for pulling that one off Laurel!
Readers! If you are a fan of sexy cowboys, spunky women and a story that will keep you on your toes, then IMPOSSIBLE is a must read!

First of all, let's just all take this opportunity to drool over this gorgeous cover. That man is a perfect Coleman Cade. Fans Self! Holy Shitdizzle!(yes, that is a new word I learned in this book).
We got a little taste of Coleman Cade in The One Girl. He was Tucker's cocky, flirty, bull riding friend. But that did not prepare me for the full Coleman Cade experience. Oh my...
"Finding the right woman is a lot like ridin' a bull. You'll know in a little over eight seconds whether they're worth a second ride or not. And, as you know, the best ones usually buck you off a few time before givin' you the ride of your life."
But, Let's start back in the beginning of this story. Roni has been though a horrible tragedy. She now spends her time alone as a meteorologist, travelling, and chasing storms. She is hiding from everyone including herself. She has no desire to open up or care about anyone since it is just easier that way.
One day in an odd twist of fate, she meets a teenage boy, CJ, that she has an immediate connection with. Before she knows it, she is drawn a little into his world and that means also into the life of his dad, Coleman Cade. I knew Cade was sexy, flirty, and dripping in charisma from the previous book. But in this one, I swear I could literally feel him staring at me with his one blue and one green eye and I thought my kindle would start smoking. This man is seriously magnetic and swoon worthy. He is hot, funny, bossy, challenging, determined, caring, and down right intoxicating.
Shitdizzle. I did. I liked it. So help me, but he was one of those endearing assholes. The ones you loved to hate and hated to love, all at the same time.
For such a strong, physically intimidating guy, he was so freaking soft. So playful, so generous with affection. So everything I wanted. And everything I didn't think I could handle.
And most importantly he can see right through her. He(and his family) have the uncanny ability to see past her tough facade. He gets her immediately and can see she has walls up and is a runner. He not only takes that as a challenge, but also makes it his mission to wear her down. He is not going to let her get away with anything.
"You're like a Banty Rooster, sweetheart. Tiny little thing, but you don't hesitate to puff your chest, lookin' for a fight."
"Banty. Only thing you do more than fight, is run. I've been waitin' for it all day, and if you felt that kiss even a quarter of how much I felt it, I'm surprised you're not already gone."
I found myself laughing out loud at some of the things he said and his antics. This man just warmed my heart. His persistence, patience, capacity to love his family, and his vulnerability under his outward persona were so endearing. Their love story was tentative and fragile, but beautiful. It was not easy or perfect and they had issues with communication and secrets. But I loved them together. And I adored how Coleman's son and mother felt the same connection to Roni as he did and welcomed her into their lives. They were funny, supportive, and truly important to the story as well.
And of course, there had to be challenges and dramas. I got nervous, tense, frustrated, and my heart hurt for them. There were twists I did not see coming and by the time it got near the end, I was so invested in these characters that I was holding my breath. And I would love to thank Laurel for giving not only giving an epilogue, but also a bonus scene in Coleman's point of view...sigh...Yes, Coleman Cade is my new book boyfriend and I am not afraid to admit it. I have already claimed him. And only second to my love for Coleman, is my love for his son CJ. He is a heartbreaker in his own right and I am so looking forward to a book about him in the future.
This book made me laugh, swoon, tear up, and fall in love with an entire family. Laurel Ulen Curtis has a wonderful ability to create hot, bossy alpha men with a soft side, strong women that are likable despite flaws, and connections that are intense, passionate, heartfelt, and sweet. This is an engaging story of learning to live, second chances, and hope.
Thanks to Laurel Ulen Curtis for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Posted at Reviews by Tammy and Kim
This is the first book that I've read by Laurel Ulen Curtis, so I didn't really know what to expect. From the very beginning, I connected with Impossible and I think it was because it's about Roni and she's a storm chaser. I grew up in Oklahoma City with storm chasers and tornadoes being very familiar and our way of life. As crazy as storm chasers seem to outsiders, they are necessary during storm season and we've relied on their knowledge on more than one occasion. Anyhow, I connected quite quickly with the novel because of that.
The story was one that surprised me on more than one occasion. I thought that I knew what was going to happen in quite a few of the situations in this book (you know how you think you know what is going to happen next and most of the time you're right?) but I was sorely mistaken quite a few times. There were many situations that took me by surprise and kept me on my toes with this one. I liked how the story was written, you're left a bit in the dark with the main character, Roni, as she searches for herself within these unfamiliar situations and feelings. It made the book read quite smoothly and scoot right along.
Roni is the perfectly flawed character that I'm always searching for when I read. I like how she was so incredibly broken and you're right there with her as she tries to figure out herself, her past and her future. I think it's interesting to be there with a character at rock bottom and see where they are able to go from there and the author did a great job with that regression and progression. I also enjoyed Coleman Cade. A lot. I can't really pinpoint anything in particular that I loved because it was just about everything about him. (And the bonus scene at the end was AWESOME!! Major thanks to the author for including that.)
There was one thing that I detested in this novel. Sweet baby Jesus, it drove me absolutely crazy. I know that people have phrases that they use all the time (sometimes ad nauseum) and this was one of those. I shit you not, when I read this one word each of the 21 times that it was in the book, I wanted to smash my Kindle into oblivion. It was irritating and all together, too much. Too damn much. Roni said this phrase so much that it almost made me just put the book down altogether. That sounds silly, right? Well, I think it's because the phrase just didn't seem to mesh with the character at all. It didn't seem authentic and if the purpose was to keep Roni from cussing, I think that there would be other words that she could use because it made Roni sound like a 15 year old instead of the 30-something woman that she was. And no, I'm not going to tell you the word, you need to read the book and see if you pick up the same thing that I did. Hopefully it was just me being pissy and nit-picky.
All in all, it was a great book and I'll read something else by this author, for sure. Well, as long as she doesn't use that damn word again. Holy cannoli. If I never read that word again, it will be too soon.
* I received this novel in exchange for an honest review *
Why you ask? Have you ever read a book about a storm chaser falling in love with a bad ass alpha bullrider? I bet you haven't...oh and you won't find any "angle's" or "babes" in this book. You'll find original one of a kind nicknames...Banty Baby. Not sure what Banty baby means? I had no idea either, but you'll know exactly what I'm talking about if you read this book.
Laurel does an excellent job of telling the story and making you fall in love with all it's characters, even the secondary ones. I don't think there is anything better than amazing secondary characters. In my opinion they make a book, and in this case they really did.
Impossible is the story of Coleman and Roni. Roni has had a tragic life and her way of coping with her huge loss three years ago was to take off and track stroms. She lives from town to town and out of her car and hotels. She doesn't have friends and doesn't want any until Coleman Cade Jr. comes to her rescue one day...in return she runs into him and his dad at a diner a few days later and Coleman Sr. decides right then and there that Roni is worth the fight. There relationship grows and Roni realizes that she is letting in not only Coleman but his family. She isn't exactly sure how or why she let it happen, only that she can't control the pull that she has to them.
There relationship doesn't come easy, but both Coleman and Roni know it's worth it...or is it?
I really did enjoy this book, and I'm really (really) looking forward to CJ's (Coleman Cade Jr) book. I do hope that Laurel develops CJ's character more and makes him a huge bad-ass alpha. More bad ass than his dad, but I also hope that she gives us more...because we could have read so much more in Impossible and still LOVED it!
Great book Laurel...I'm already looking forward to your next!
Coleman was a sweet guy, “Roni, I don’t want you to be sorry for claiming me, I just want you to be sincere while you’re doin’ it,” he said, his voice dripping with hope filled sincerity." There are times Roni has to go to extremes to get her man to listen, "so I settled for a purple nurple instead, grabbing his nipple and twisting it into submission. “Ouch, ouch, ouch!” he squealed as he pushed off of me and jumped off the bed. “You’re cruel, Banty!” Coleman is not a shy boy when it comes to what's in his mind, “jacking off while imagining you is getting a little stale. I need to taste the real effin’ thing.” I liked this book Roni and Coleman were perfect for each other a little dysfunctional at times but perfect for each other.
Impossible is an incredible story. If you have been following along Laurel's books you would know that she has a knack for drawing you in and keeping you there until the story is over. She has highs and lows and everything in between in a story that just catches you off guard and by the time you have finished reading you are in book shock because you have had an array of emotions and your not sure what just happened in a good way. In Impossible I was amazed by what I was reading. It is a story of love, loss and finding yourself and your heart again.
Veronica AKA Roni had it all, a husband and a child on the way but tragedy struck and all that was taken from her. At a loss for what to do and where to go Roni decides to run and chase storms. Being a storm chaser is such an adrenalin rush for Roni and it makes her forget her past. She has decided she will not open her heart to anyone that way she can't get hurt. But one day fate has something else for her because she gets a flat tire and here comes CJ Cade at fifteen years old he is wiser than his years and he helps Roni and they start a friendship. CJ is funny, smart, and witty and he and Roni share a unique friendship so when Roni meets his famous dad Coleman Cade the famous bull rider she is thrown off.
With Roni's guard down she can't believe CJ's father is the famous bull rider but that doesn't matter because she has sworn off men. But her heart sure does skip a beat every time she is around Cade. As For Cade from the very first minute he meets Roni he knows she is the one. She has something and it calls to him like a siren and he knows he has to make Roni his. But boy is he in for a rude awakening because he is going to have to fight like hell to get Roni to let her walls down.
Can Cade do the IMPOSSIBLE and knock down Roni's walls? Or will he have to walk away from the one thing he wants more than life? This is a must read story!
A copy of this book was given to me by The author, however, my review is tally unbiased and my own opinion.
This is this third book by Laurel Curtis I've read and each one gets better and better. I don't remember a book that has made me laugh and bawl my tears out crying as much as Impossible. Roni has lived through a traumatic experience and for the past three years been barely living herself. Enter Coleman Cade to her life (who we were introduced to in Curtis' This One Girl), a gorgeous professional bull rider that women just throw themselves at, and his son CJ and mom. The Cades slowly entwine themselves into Roni's life even though she silently fights it believing that she's not worthy or deserving of love.
My first thought when reading the book description was “hmm a storm chaser and a bull rider, this could be interesting”. And it was- this book sucked me in from the beginning and went beyond all my expectations.
Roni has merely existed for the last 3 years; after suffering a horrific loss, she left behind everyone and everything that she knew, going solo as a storm chaser traveling throughout Tornado Alley and the surrounding areas. To survive each day, Roni has shut down her emotions and built the wall around her so high that all anyone sees is a bitchy cold woman if they try to get too close. After all, it won’t hurt to lose someone if you don’t let them in to begin with, right?
As she is driving through Huntsford, Kansas, she gets a blowout and a young man pulls over to help her change the tire- enter Coleman Cade Jr, better known as CJ. When her attempts to chase him off with her attitude fail, she reluctantly accepts his help. CJ is only fifteen but he is one heck of good looking cowboy.
“His eyes were the coolest thing I had ever seen. One was a soft sky blue and the other was a green that was just a shade darker than mine. With his eyes right there, I couldn’t think of anything else to say, so I just blurted out the only words my brain had the ability to process. “You’re eyes are two different colors.” He chuckled and answered me, “They sure are. My name isn’t the only thing my dad passed down.” Holy Crap. “There are two of you with eyes like this?” I breathed. A smile took over his face as he confirmed, “Yes, ma’am.”
After CJ helps her, she leaves abruptly to continue on to the next storm location but finds herself back in Huntsford after an eventful chase in Alabama. As she is sitting in the only local restaurant waiting for her meal, CJ and his dad walk in the door- and Roni about swallows her tongue when she gets a good look at Coleman Cade the original.
“I knew CJ had good genes. I did. I knew the moment I met him. But seeing his father in the flesh, it felt like I had had no idea. He was absolutely freaking beautiful. So. Attractive. It was as if the attractiveness radiated off of him with so much force that you wouldn’t even have to see him to know. Seriously. Blind nuns would find him attractive.”
As I was reading, I had to stop and remind myself several times that this dialogue was not written by Kristen Ashley, but rather by Ms Curtis; given how much I freakin’ love KA’s Rock Chicks and Hot Bunch alphas, that is in no way a bad thing and is meant as a compliment to the author! Roni had some great internal monologues running through her head, and Coleman DEFINITELY cranked up the alpha male, panty melting, dirty talking protector mode once he decided that he wanted to get to know her better- which happened right after their first interaction at the restaurant. He pursues her single-mindedly, he sees right through the tough talking exterior that she puts up for everyone, and he instinctively knows how to handle her. His nickname for her, Banty baby, cracks me up but it fits when he explains it.
“You’re like a Banty Rooster, sweetheart. Tiny little thing, but you don’t hesitate to puff out your chest, lookin’ for a fight.”
Roni can’t understand why this beautiful man who has all kinds of “buckle bunnies” (essentially bull riding groupies) chasing him left and right wants her specifically, and Coleman’s explanation was perfect- direct, caring, and definitely alpha.
“Because, my little Banty rooster, you challenge me when no one else will. You’re fuckin’ beautiful and have a hot little body, but you put absolutely zero effort into it. You’ve got a sweet side that you just barely let out, but when you do, I can tell it’s one hundred percent genuine. We’ve shared one kiss, and it turned me on more than all of the women I’ve been with in the last six months combined. And I’m talkin’ tits swingin’ in my face, dick buried deep inside these women. Your kiss did more.”
All 3 of the Cades, including Coleman’s mother Nan, start to break down her defenses without Roni realizing it and slowly she starts to remember how to live again. Every time she freaks out and tries to run, Coleman is right there to calm her and bring her back to earth.
“I know you feel the same thing that I do, Roni. We’re gonna get there, I know we are. But there’s no way in hell I’m gonna go there before I know you won’t regret it in the morning. You run enough all on your own. No need for me to force you into it.”
Nan is a fantastic character- she is down to earth, insightful, says it like it is and doesn’t take crap from anyone. After CJ’s mother (dubbed the She-bitch Spawn of Satan by Roni) basically deserted him and Coleman once CJ was born, Nan helped Coleman raise him. She sees a lot that Roni doesn’t necessarily want her to see but doesn’t push or judge her.
At about the 80% mark of the book, Roni’s world is rocked by something she never expected and I certainly didn’t either. What does that mean for her and Coleman? Well you will have to check it out to find out! I really enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to reading CJ’s story in the future. In the meantime, I’ll leave you with a few last quotes in case you haven’t decided to grab a copy of this story yet.
“I used to know someone like you, Roni. And I think your real problem is that you do want this. You want to be loved and needed. You want someone to wait anxiously to see you, eyes filled with hope, just like CJ. You just don’t think you’re allowed to have it.”- Nan
“You sound an awful lot like an asshole right now.” “Yeah. But you like it, right?” Shitdizzle. I did. I liked it. So help me, but he was one of those endearing assholes. The ones you loved to hate and hated to love, all at the same time.- Roni and Coleman
“Did you take lessons on how to answer a woman’s questions? Because you’re really freaking good at it.” “Yes,” he responded. “Yes?” “My father taught me everything I know about interacting with a woman. Though, you probably shouldn’t mention that to Nan. There are a few of my interactions she’s not a fan of.”- Coleman and Roni
Coleman knew exactly what I needed. He made it easy to love him, and almost impossible not to.
This has one of the most ridiculous endings I've ever seen in a contemporary romance - we're asked to believe that 1) a pregnant woman would just assume her baby was dead because she was in a serious car accident and woke up having had a c-section 2) that she would assume that she was no longer fertile at all due to that c-section 3) her late husband's parents would never once reach out to be like "hey, how you doing, by the way this kid of yours that we're raising is doing great and 4) her bullriding boyfriend would encounter the grandparents and little girl at a rodeo in another state and go "this must be my girlfriend's kid because they look just alike." It just completely defies belief
It's almost as unbelievable as her encountering a teenage boy, being rude to him, and him deciding "Hey, she's perfect for my dad!" and then the dad looking her up and deciding that she's for him despite the fact that she's one of the rudest and most abrasive people in the entire mid-south area. It's ridiculous and if I had to read her signature response of "sh*tdizzle" one more time, I was afraid I was going to throw my Kindle at the wall.
Editing is awful - "you're" and "your" are used interchangeably, characters talk about doing "roll play," etc.

Three years ago, Veronica (Roni) had it all. Loving in-laws to make up for the lack of love she receives from her own parents, an adoring husband named Josh, a job she wants as a meteorologist, and she's pregnant with their first child. Everything seems to be so perfect in her life, that is until one day her entire world is ripped away from her in a car accident. All it took was for another car to hit them for her to lose her husband and their precious baby all in one day.
That was three years ago. Roni has been gone every since the day her life ended as she knew it screaming in the hospital. She still has nightmares about that time in her life, but she picked up right after the accident and left behind her home and her in-laws never looking back. Roni now lives as a storm chaser. She has her trusty Chevy Tahoe that she lives out of and it's all setup with everything she needs including a video camera to capture every chase. She knows that one day she will have to return to the real world, but for now she's living in the moment on the edge of danger.
Her travels take her through a small town in Kansas. One flat tire changes everything for her. It's there on the side on the road that she meets Coleman Cade Jr. CJ has everyone calls him is a young teenager who has a charm about him and unique eyes that capture her attention right from the start. CJ has one green eye and one blue eye that he says he got from his father. CJ helps her change the tire, but she for some reason seems drawn to this teenager and knows that it's time to run away. She leaves and doesn't plan to come back. That is until she's out chasing another storm and a fellow chaser and his partner get into a car accident trying to outrun a tornado. As much as she hates Max, she stops to help him and his partner Tony, landing herself in the hospital after she's hit in the head by some debris.
After she gets all patched up, Roni insists that it's time for her to leave so she gets back into her car and takes off ending up back in the same small town at the diner. It's here that she sees CJ again. As much as she tries to hide from him he spots her and with him is the most gorgeous man she's ever laid eyes on and it's none other than Coleman Cade himself. He's fit, it's tall, he rugged, and he's got a charm that is irresistible. Roni knows she should leave and stay away, but CJ invites her to his rodeo show the next night and she knows she just can't stay away. She goes that night and meets his grandmother Nan. Nan seems to understand why Roni feels the need to run, but she won't tell her why. It's almost as if Nan can see right through her just like CJ can and it scares Roni. Roni hasn't let anyone near her since the accident that took everything from her. But the more time she spends with the Cades the close she is drawn to them. She's scared but she can't seem to run away from them.
As much as she tries to fight her growing attraction to Coleman she just can't seem to do it. He's everything that she's never wanted in a man and then some being a rodeo star himself. He's got a wicked sense of humor, even developing the nickname Banty for Roni. Roni's at one point does try to run away, but Coleman follows her insisting that he wants to spend the week with her while she's out chasing so they set out on their adventure together. Roni's nightmares continue, but as they do so do the growing number of fantasies she has about Coleman and it's only a matter of time before their relationship begins to grow and they get closer to one another. Coleman may be a lot of things, but the one thing he is, is very protective of Roni and does all he can to keep her safe and feel how much he cares for her. Even with all this Roni knows she should run away, but no matter what she tries she just can't seem to shake Coleman.
When tragedy strikes the Cade family and Coleman reveals a secret that will rock Roni's world straight to it's core and really send her running this time, will she be able to overcome the impossible and learn to love those around her?
Oh. My. God. This story was amazing. I have never read a story about a storm chaser. While the overall story itself wasn't about chasing storms that's what Roni did for a long time and it was a new a refreshing twist on a romance novel. Couple that with the alpha male Coleman Cade and his relationship with Roni and it's explosive. There was so much sexual tension throughout so much of this book and I loved every second of it. You don't want to miss this one ladies I was in tears towards the end of the book. You won't even see it coming, but I had to stop at one point because it broke my heart to see what Roni had to endure. Throughout it all Coleman stayed by her side and he is now one of my favorite book boyfriends. Get ready ladies because Coleman will fog up your reading device and melt your heart. I cannot wait to read CJ's story and am so excited to hear that Laurel has decided to write his story because I for one have not had enough of the Cade family!!! 5 amazing stars!

Roni had the perfect life, a wonderful husband she loved and a baby on the way, until one day life took an ugly turn and she lost everything that mattered to her. That day when her world came crashing down was the day she left her life and family behind and never looked back. She was afraid of losing someone else she loved, so leaving them behind meant not having to feel. After Roni left she lived her life on the road chasing storms. She loved the adventure and the challenge of it all and it took her mind off the fact that she is running from her feelings and reality. Roni had no plans of opening her heart to love again, until one day she gets a flat tire on the side of the road and meets CJ Cade. That one chance meeting will change her life in more ways than one.
"Maybe i just needed to ride the wave while it lasted. I was pretty sure that I couldn't maintain this forever without some sort of explosion of epic emotional proportions, but for now, if felt incredible. For now I could pretend this was the only thing going on in my life and just enjoy it. Enjoy him."
CJ Cade is only 15 years old but for some reason there is a connection between him and Roni. There is something about CJ that Roni likes and the two form an unlikely friendship. Then she meets CJ's dad and everything changes. Coleman Cade is a sexy, alpha male, and professional bull rider, who is totally swoon worthy. When he first meets Ronni there is that instant chemistry between the two of them. Roni helps Cade out of an unwanted situation and at that moment Cade knows that he wants Roni to be his. Cade is a famous bull rider and can have any woman he wants. But when he meets the feisty, stubborn woman his world is turned upside down, in a good way. He has had many woman in his past, but he is willing to give up his days of being a playboy to be with Roni. For the past three years Roni has buried the pain and hurt from her loss. She has built up this wall around her heart that is so thick, no one can break through it. But Cade sees the sadness that she carries and knows that she is hurting in some way. He will do what it takes to break down her walls and let him and his family into her life and her heart. The question is will Roni be able to get over the pain of her past and let him in?
"I know you feel the same thing that I do, Roni. We're gonna get there, I know we are. But there's no way in hell I'm gonna go there before I know you won't regret it in the morning."
I loved this story and loved both Cade and Roni. We first got a glimpse of Cade in The One Girl and all though it was a short one, I knew then, how much I would love him. He is a complete alpha male with a big heart, and a sweet and caring side to him that will melt your heart. Roni is feisty, and stubborn and independent, but has also been running from her past. And there are times when she feels the need to run from her present as well. She doesn't want to allow Cade in, but can't help the way she feels when she is around him. She makes his quest to get to know her very challenging for Cade, which makes him want her even more. I loved these two together, but it wasn't just about Cade and Ronni. Cade's son CJ was a big part as well. CJ and Roni had a very special relationship and when she allowed herself to feel again and open up to Cade she was also opening up herself to his son and his mother, Nan. The Cade family is a close family that loves Roni and welcomes her into their lives. They were honestly a wonderful addition to the cast of characters.
"I'll take whatever I can get baby. Sweet Roni, Tough Roni, Vulnerable Roni, or my very own little Banty rooster. As long as you're around to give me some versions of yourself, I'll be happy."
Impossible is a story about letting go of the hurt and the pain from your past and learning to love again. It's about second chances at love and a happily ever after. Laurel Curtis did a wonderful job with the story and the connection to the characters in the story. I didn't just fall in love with Cade and Roni but I fell in love with his family. It will make you laugh, cry, angry and frustrated at times. There are a few twists and turns that you never saw coming. Overall it is a wonderful read and one that I did not want to put down. Another fantastic job by Laurel Curtis. I cannot wait for CJ's story.
The first two books in this series are The One Place and The One Girl. You do not have to read them prior to this one but they are both must reads and must be read in the order listed.
This is my first book that I read written by this author, and I will have to say that I really enjoyed her writing. The flow was really good and the book had me captured within the first few chapters. After it started to pick up then I couldn’t put it down. All the characters are unforgettable, and I seriously can’t wait to read more about this series. There’s not going to be a sequel to this but there will be a spin-off on one of the characters in the book. I can’t wait for this book!!! You will have to read the book to find out who gets their own story.
The main character Roni nickname for Veronica (of course I had to read this because of the name…lol), is a very strong determined woman who is just trying to live life day by day after surviving such a horrible tragic event with her husband Josh. The only way for her to survive was to close herself off from becoming close to people, and act like a total bitch. Hehe…I’m like that sometimes just because.. Anyways, she decides to take a job as a storm chaser which gives her the adrenaline she needs to make it through every day. I really felt bad for her because of everything that she went through and her every day struggle to get out of bed each day. I then could understood why she lived the way she lived. She was all alone and had no place to call home but this was her choice. She lives in motels/hotels and her truck. The life she leads is very lonely but it’s her way of coping.
One day she was traveling to her next destination and ends up with a flat tire. A nice stranger pulls over to help her, but Roni doesn’t take too kindly to strangers and any kind of help. The stranger ends up being a very polite teenage boy that is so polite and it was hard for her to resist his kindness. She really tries being a bitch towards him to run him off, but he wouldn’t hear any of that. Roni gave in and let him help her with changing the tire. His name is Coleman Cade Jr. who goes by C.J. and it turns out he is a well-known bull-rider, just like his father. He was surprised that Roni never heard of him or his father and found it amusing since he is so popular in the area. She ends up really liking the kid, which was exactly the type of feelings she avoided for so long. C.J. is so adorable and takes a liking to Roni, and invites her to one of his tournaments. Roni said she would think about it but really planned on not going, because she didn’t want to really like C.J. again. They parted ways but it actually nagged at her for thinking about not going to see his next tournament since he was so nice to her and she had an immediate bond to him, which was a more of a protective connection. The motherly type of affection is in fact what C.J. craves in his life.
Eventually, Roni builds a relationship with C.J. which she tried so hard to avoid. You fall in love with C.J. because he grows up without a mother and is seeking a motherly figure in his life. For some reason, he pulls at Roni’s heart and they start to get closer. C.J. was raised by his dad and his grandmother (Nan). Nan plays an important part with helping Roni discovering how to survive a loss like hers and learn to open up her heart to be able to love again. I really love Nan who is a very wise woman, and very proud of her grandson and her son. Little does Roni know is that their family suffered a huge tragedy as well which is how Nan understands Roni’s pain and the protectiveness of her heart.
Next comes in Coleman Cade Sr. which is C.J.’s father and is a really famous bull rider and travels a lot for his tournaments. He is a single father who looks like C.J. and when he first meets Roni and she first meets him sparks fly. Coleman has already heard so much about Roni from C.J. and found her very intriguing. Coleman is a ladies man and gets a lot of attention from his fans mainly women, and Roni is not impressed. She tries her hardest to avoid getting to know Coleman, but Coleman is relentless about pursuing her. It turns out he is tired of all the relationships that are meaningless to him and wants a woman that could be part of his family. For some reason he sees this in Roni, and she is about the most unapproachable and head strong woman he has ever met that is not affected by his looks at all or his celebrity status. This only makes the chase more fun for Coleman.
You will enjoy this book and the characters that are part of the story. I had a great time reading this book and give it a review of 4 stars out of 5.
I really liked the idea of a heroine who chased storms. She sounded gutsy and that intrigued me when I initially read the blurb for this book. And I have to say, I found myself quite liking Impossible. Sure, there wasn't a lot of storm chasing in this novel, but I was too caught up in Coleman Cade to even care about that. Because I really liked how the romance in book played out. It was sassy and made me laugh.
Roni: I knew from the opening pages we were going to be in for a whirlwind with her. The loss she suffers is sudden and tragic and more than anyone should have to endure. But loss is sadly apart of life, and it was something that Roni was totally unprepared to have to deal with. So I wasn't surprised that she was constantly running. What I was surprised with was how easily the Cades got into her heart. But I liked that they did because not only did it show them to be great, great people, but it showed us how great Roni was before she tried to make herself hard and cold. She tried to turn into an ice queen, but she was never that. I loved how Coleman would sass her with some asshole comment and that yet she loved it because, really, he wasn't a jerk, (her was her asshole as he pointed out) and even though she wanted to be seriously annoyed with him at times, she couldn't be because Coleman got her. I was stunned by the revelation Coleman deals Roni near the end of the novel however, and although I wish that had been fleshed a bit more fully, it truly fit in with the story and with Roni's character. It also added another layer to Roni and Coleman's relationship that was believable because Coleman did doubt her there for a minute or two.
Coleman: Hawtness in cowboy boots. He's a bit of an ass, but he's the ass every woman wants because as much as he's an ass, he's also not and every woman wants credit for that *wink* Roni can take the credit I think because he's loyal to her and such a gentleman. He values her and despite his ability to read her as easily as he does, he also has to struggle with not pushing Roni too hard. That's not easy because Roni will run at the slightest provocation. In fact, she tries to run even when she doesn't really want to run. I laughed when Coleman caught her at that, and loved that he just wouldn't let her run away. And I never thought that was hard for Coleman because he's that patient about it, but it's obvious by the end that it was hard for him. You might think he was something of a too be to true hero as you read this book, but he has just enough spitfire and doubt in him to save him from that label, because as wonderful as Coleman is, he isn't perfect. I have to love a hero who loves his woman this much. Always wins me over. And Coleman is utterly devoted to Roni.
The writing is clean, and the novel reads with easy fluidity. The characters are smartly drawn, and are witty, feisty characters that you can't help but grow to love. I love the way family comes into play in this novel as well, and I'm again reminded that you find family in the most unlikely places at times. A solid romance that was sexy and smart. I would like to thank the author for providing me with a copy of the novel in exchange for an honest review.
Veronica Russo vows never to love again and instead turns her energy to being a storm chaser. Three years ago she walked away from her life after losing everything that mattered and never looked back. Stopping for a quick bite to eat turns her world upside down when she looks into the mismatched eyes of Coleman Cade. He makes her weak in the knees and suddenly dormant feelings begin to resurface. Cade is happy to finally meet the woman who made an impression on his son, but he wasn’t expecting the feisty Veronica. When she helps extricate him from an unwanted situation, he realizes she’s a gem and he sets out to win her over. Will Veronica put her past to rest or will she walk away from another chance at love?
Laurel Ulen Curtis’ Impossible is well written. It’s one of those books not to start before bed because you’ll find it difficult to put down. Can I take a moment to fangirl over Cade? He makes an appearance in Curtis’ The One Girl and while his appearance was brief, he made an impression. Don’t worry if you haven’t read Curtis’ The One series, it’s not necessary to enjoy Impossible. Cade is sexy and oh boy, you’ll never look at bull riding the same way! Even though he spends a majority of his time competing on the national circuit, he also runs a farm and raised his son alone. He takes his responsibility to his family seriously and he’s cautious about letting women into his life, which makes sense since he’s a professional and well known. Veronica isn’t as straight forward as she likes the reader to think. Underneath her tough exterior is a girl who mourns the loss of her husband and child. I really liked that Curtis gave us a heroine who is self sufficient and doesn’t wallow in self pity because of her loss. Curtis develops her secondary characters well. I loved Cade’s mother, Nan, and wish we would have had more scenes with her. Cade’s son, Coleman Cade Jr. stole the show!
I know a complaint among readers is the "insta-love” phenomenon that is prevalent in a lot of books. Impossible isn’t one, while they are attracted to one another, they do take the time to get to know one another. Although, Veronica is a bit more guarded about her past, I loved that Cade didn’t press her. I really do believe Veronica needed someone to support her and realize it was all going to be okay. I also enjoyed that this was pretty much a drama free romance. No love triangles, crazy exes or anything like that.
I wish I could discuss the final chapters, but I can’t because they would be a HUGE spoiler. Instead, I’ll say this: I’ve often wondered how people can move on with someone else after their significant other has died. Curtis made me think about how maybe in the end, x wasn’t the love of your life or perhaps x brought y to you instead.
If you’re looking for a romance that’s well developed and that will tug at your heart, I recommended Laurel Ulen Curtis’ Impossible. You’ll really enjoy the bonus POV she includes and it answers a lot of questions pertaining to the final chapters.
Life can change in an instant. For bad or for good.
Roni knew that with a heart wrenching certainty that no one should have knowledge of… but she did, every moment of every day for the last three years she knew just how quickly everything changes. She was real good at running now. She threw herself into storm chasing, solo, in another way of running. Oh, sure, she loved what she did, the excitement and personal enjoyment of it was part of her personality now – but she acknowledged that she was on the run. She wouldn’t take her own life, but if a storm did what was the loss really?
Life was about to change once again in the form of a flat tire in a dusty, tiny town she was flying through on the way to chasing down yet another storm. A flat tire, a handsome young man and something in his glance that said “Yeah, there she is finally.” As Coleman Cade, Jr. (otherwise known as CJ) listened to Roni’s arguments, then went about changing her flat tire anyway he was convinced that this was the woman both he, and especially his dad needed in their lives – now, how to make that happen.
A few days later when Roni was once again flying through Huntsford chasing storms, she ran into CJ and his dad once again. This time it was obvious that father and son shared more than the same two differently colored eyes, handsomeness and a wicked sense of humor – they agreed on the lady. Yeah, she was perfect for their life – now came the hard part, convincing Roni that she indeed did want to be part of their family and that finally she could stop running.
But it would take a lot of love to allow Roni the room to let herself feel again – and she wasn’t sure she’d ever be ready for that. Even if this handsome rodeo champion and his adorable son could manage to get Roni to believe in Coleman’s love and being happy again – yet another of those “in an instant” moments was fast approaching. This one Roni was convinced she’d not survive.
Impossible is a fantastic ride. While it touches on a very sad subject, in reality it also shows what future is there as well – you simply need to be brave enough to reach out and grab it. It was a delight to watch Coleman wear Roni down. And, man, CJ is going to be a heartbreaker in a few years (sure glad the as yet undated sequel is intended to be CJ’s adult story)… hell, he already is at fifteen what’s he gonna be at 30? I can’t wait to find out.
While this is a tender, sexy love story it is also an acknowledgement of the fact that life goes on. And we should celebrate that it does. Really good story, I would recommend this one for readers who love cowboy romances or simply a really good, emotional love story. Pick this one up and indulge yourself.
*I received an e-ARC of Impossible from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*
This is the most unique romance book I’ve ever read. Have you ever played the game I NEVER? Well, until this book, I NEVER thought I would read a book that would make tornados and bull riding seem sexy. I had NEVER seen such a charming, unique term of endearment for a character. I HAVE NOW. The main character, Veronica, has experienced so much tragedy that she’s basically floating through life and has submersed herself into her career as a Meteorologist/Storm Chaser. Instead of dealing with her pain, she leaves everything behind and forgets about it all. On one of her storm chasing adventures, she meets CJ, a cute, respectful boy with mismatched eyes. CJ’s just a kid, but, for some unknown reason, Veronica is drawn to him. This kid makes her FEEL something again. Then she meets the older, even sexier version of CJ: his dad, Coleman Cade, a sexy bull rider with the same mismatched eyes as his son. Coleman, a known “ladies man” decides to pursue Veronica. His charming, witty banter, combined with his rugged good looks, make Veronica question everything about herself. When Coleman says things like this: "Finding the right woman is a lot like ridin’ a bull. You’ll know in a little over eight seconds whether they’re worth a second ride or not. And, as you know, the best ones usually buck you off a few times before givin’ you the ride of your life,” it makes her wonder if she can bear to be around him without feeling something.
Coleman sees what Veronica needs, even when she doesn’t. Can he help her let go of her tragic past and be happy again? Will she see that the Cade family is exactly what she needs? You’ll have to read to find out and TRUST ME, you WANT to find out. It has what every amazing book should: a whirlwind of emotions, sexiness, country boys, charm and HILARIOUS dialogue!
Overall, I really LOVED this story! Coleman Cade is officially my dream guy. The author wrote these characters so well that I was completely drawn into their world. Each character has a lot of personality and I felt connected to all of them. The intense, realistic chemistry between the characters made this book stand out above thousands of other books I’ve read. There were a lot of emotionally charged moments that made me want to throw my Nook!
I definitely recommend this unique, incredible book. This book surprised me in a way I can’t put into words. The only down side of reading it? Now, it is going to be IMPOSSIBLE to find something good enough to rid me of the Coleman Cade withdrawals I am suffering from! Lookout, world, because Laurel Ulen Curtis is a literary force to be reckoned with!
Coleman Cade: tall dark handsome amazing mismatched eyes swoon one blue one green swoon !! whity cowboy and a bull rider (enough said) Veronica Russo: stubborn strong very opiniated woman (I love a strong tell it like it is character)
One Accident. Two losses. Three years...... Afraid to live her life and move on Roni puts herself in dangerous situations being a storm chaser. She's pushes everyone away, not wanting to feel pain or loss ever again.
"People already considered me reckless because I chased by myself. No need to throw on the gossip ...err... Or the fire whatever" ~Roni Russo Impossible
She uses and anger and solitude to keep anyone from from coming close to her then we meet Coleman Cade a bull rider with a funny whity sence of humor. He can see through Veronica's facade to break down her walls and just maybe she can let love in.
"Finding a woman is a lot like ridin' a bull. You'll know in a little over eight seconds whether they're worth a second ride or not. And as you know the best ones buck you off a few times before givin' you the ride of your life"~ Colman Cade Impossible
This book was one I couldn't put down. The emotions and feelings seems so real that you can't help but love Cade and watch Roni challenge him every step of the way. The banter and sexual frustrations of these two made me laugh. In the end you finding yourself cheering for Roni and then wanting to throw your kindle. (Which I didn't but I was absolutely close to doing it)
"Your like a Banty Rooster, sweetheart. Tiny little thing, but you don't hesitate to puff out your chest, lookin for a fight" Coleman Cade ~ Impossible
Will Roni be able to move pass tragedy and be able to let love in again. This was a fantastic five star must read and wait for it ......... Coleman Cade jr is going to have a booked well so get to reading ! In order to overcome past tragedies and find true happiness- in order to have Everything- Roni needs to do one thing. Find the impossible.
Really liked both main characters Roni and Cade. Roni, a weather spotter, is heartbroken over the loss of her husband and daughter 3 yrs prior and not going there again. Cade, a champion bull rider, and his son CJ have other ideas on that theory. Cade is one cocky hot cowboy and a fun playful flirt with the stubborn little 5’2” heroine. She gives it her best shot to resist Cade’s charms, but he finally wears her down and she craters into a pool of hot mess. Cade’s 15 yr old son CJ is adorable and evidently a carbon copy of his dad in name and looks. CJ adores his dad and is following in his dad’s footsteps as a bull rider and I’m sure destined to be a heartbreaker. CJ works the Roni angle on his end hoping she and his dad get together. It was cute fun watching these 2 guys work their magic on Roni. Thinking this bk was a winner. I was fully invested in the story and loved the characters (especially Cade!) until the end where I was left with a “what?, huh?”. Had to go back and skim thinking I missed something or see if a chapter was left out. The climax/drama part of the story which was a surprise just sort of melted away and details and motives were left unanswered/unexplained and in one instance details were changed. Thankfully after the credits the author added a brief POV from Cade that explained one key scene. But it doesn’t explain the rest of it. Made me think of this author’s last bk The One Girl where the ending fell apart. Sort of confused as how to rate this one since it more or less slid off the cliff but think 3.5 stars is fair.
Not sure what the author was going for here – a fluff romance or a romantic drama. This would have been a great bk if the author (in my opinion) had added more detail and depth and drew it to a smoother close. I’m going to keep up with her though, she’s writing CJ’s story next. I’m hoping the quality improves the more she writes.
AWESOME story !!! This is a stand alone book, although the author says the son in the story will be getting his own book.
Roni is running from the tragedy that is her past. One way to do that.....be a storm chaser. Roni lives out of hotels and her car. She has severed all ties to her past never allowing anyone to get close to her. This is the only way she knows to avoid heartache.
Upon the trail of a storm she has a blowout in rural Kansas. Stumbling upon her is a fifteen year old kid, CJ, to help her change her tire. Although she tries not to let him help he is persistent and she finally relents. When she looks closer she discovers he has one blue eye and green eye. This intrigues her immensely. One characteristic that he inherited from his father.
After chasing her storm she ends up in the same rural town in Kansas where she met CJ. She knows this is bad but the kid made her feel things that she has tried to block out for the last three years. While eating supper CJ comes in with his father, Coleman Cade, professional bull rider. Roni tries to hide her face but CJ recognizes her immediately. He wonders over to talk to her. When Roni gets a good look at Coleman she literally melts under his scrutiny.
Instant attraction and something else Roni thought was long gone in her...lust was drumming through her veins. She had to leave. She couldn't let this family any closer than they already were. Coleman is not a man that gives up so easily on something that he wants.
Will Roni finally open up about her past and let someone get to know the person behind the facade she portrays ? Will Coleman have the tenacity and patience needed to get her to give love another try ?
Coleman F-ing Cade. Hot cowboy. Bull rider. He can melt you into a puddle just with his words. He's a fighter, not only with bulls, but also when it comes to his women. He wants something he goes after it, and he doesn't stop until he gets it. Poor Veronica, or Roni as she likes to be called, has had a rough few years. The pain she has that has caused her to build up concrete walls around herself, you can feel it. After surviving a horrible car accident years ago that turned her world upside down, she thinks its better to just be by herself and not let anyone in. It's not all that hard when you're on the road constantly chasing storms. She's built up some tough skin, but that all changes with a flat tire. Coleman Cade, Jr., or CJ as he's better known as, pushes through those walls with just one simple interaction. She runs into him again with his dad and invites her to his bull riding competition. This is where she meets Nan. That woman tells you like it is. I would love to have someone like her.
"I've tried to tell Coleman. Just because someone has a vagina, doesn't mean you should use it. She's the kind of woman who learns her behavior from the praying mantis."
You get sucked in so deep hoping for something good to happen to Roni. She deserves it with all that she's had to deal with. This book had me gasping in horror, laughing my ass off, crying with heartbreak, and hoping for the HEA that is so deserved. It's Impossible for you to not fall in love with all of the characters in this book (except for the praying mantis.) Laurel Ulen Curtis, great job. I'll be looking for more of your work
I loved this book so much that I finished it in one sitting. It wasn’t short, I just couldn’t put it down and ended up spending all day immersed in the story. It’s about Veronica (Ronie), an aspiring meteorologist, that has a wonderful husband and soon to be child, until one day everything changes and she loses both of them in a car accident. She cannot cope with what has happened so she goes on the road as a storm chaser and lives out of motels along the way. She doesn’t make contact with any old family or friends but chooses to be alone with her heartache and her love of chasing tornadoes. That is until one day her car breaks down and a teenaged boy shows up to help. The young man calls to her and before long she is meeting his handsome dad, Coleman Cade, who is not only a hottie but he is also PBR (professional bull riding) royalty. He is the kind of guy that when he see’s something he wants, nothing is going to stand in his way to get it…and he wants Ronie. Come on, this man wears tight jeans, belt buckles, a cowboy hat, and rides bulls for a living, how hard can one 5ft 2in woman be? Well he gets more than he bargained for! Not only does this book have some very powerful and emotional sections, it’s also got lighthearted humor and is just downright funny. You just have to read it to see what happens when you throw these two hard headed characters together. There is nothing about this book that I dislike. I love all of the characters, they are very well developed and that is including the supporting characters like CJ and his grandmother Nan. Ronie has finally met her match with this family.
Veronica "Roni" Russo had it all. A loving husband, a promising career as a TV meteorologist, and a baby on the way. In a tragic instant, it was all taken from her. After the loss of her small family, Roni walked away from her life and everybody who loved her, and became a solo storm chaser (remember the movie Twister? yeah... that's her!) Plagues by nightmares of the accident, Roni's determination to not let anyone in is turned on its head when young CJ Cade and his family enter her life. What follows is one young woman's journey back to who she really is. To find the happiness she lost, and the life she deserves.
I found the characters fresh, engaging, and likeable. The one thing that gave me pause is how quickly young CJ broke through Roni's defenses. Once I got over that fact, however, I found myself thoroughly engrossed in the story. It's refreshing to find such an adventurous, independent heroine. She spends much of her time both fighting, and giving in to the Cade family's charms. The interactions between this small group are fun and entertaining. We watch Roni slowly open up and become an integral member of the family, yet still hold them at arm's length. They wait patiently, breaking down her defenses, giving her the time she needs to come around. It's not until faced with the possibility of another loss that Roni discovers the truth about that fateful day, and find that love is not as impossible as she once thought. Excellent story. I truly look forward to reading CJ's story!
Impossible by Laurel Curtis is an extended look at the spiral of pain and confusion that can be triggered by a catastrophic loss. Yet, at the same time it is an advertisement for the healing power of love and family. Roni’s (Veronica) life is demolished by loss. She builds her armor and lives in the present to survive. Chasing storms and always moving keeps her from making any connections; just how she thinks she wants it. Then luck and circumstance bring her into contact with an alpha in training, CJ. Her armor cracks. Will she be able climb out of the tough armor she has built up? Cameron Cade not your typical alpha male. Oh…he has all those hot traits: looks, notoriety, bossiness, etc. He is also loveable, loyal, kind, patient and very funny. The characters are well developed. They grow and change throughout the story; surviving their flaws in some cases and overcoming them in others. The storyline is complex with lots of interesting side characters, twists turns and interesting intersections. The story made me laugh and cry with Roni and Cade. I enjoyed getting to know more about storm chasing and rodeo. I highly recommend this read. It has everything you want in a good romance including the steamy scenes. The details that Laurel Curtis has woven into the story drew my in, hooked me and made this unique story hard to put down.
Fans of Kristen Ashley should love the work of Laurel Ulen Curtis. The styles aren't similar, but the emotional depth of the story, the trust issues, the humor, the uber-alpha males and the fantastical happily-ever-after are all themes we KA junkies love. This story hits all those buttons, and the author's notes indicate there's more to come with this family.
I really loved the story. It's funny, sexy, sad and surprising. All the characters in the story have distinct voices and points-of-views. The pacing and detail were just right. With the exception of some buckle bunnies, the women are strong -- damaged -- but strong, smart women, which is a frequent frustration of mine in Romance genres.
This author goes right to the top of my To-Be-Read list, and I strongly recommend you put her at the top of yours.
I received this book from the author for a honest review. On my did I love this story. At first I thought well, this book is going in a different direction than I thought it would, but hang in there it will hook you in. It is not a normal love story, it has so many twists to the story.
Roni is grief stricken and going on the road by herself, she struggles to get past her grief. Along comes the Cade family who throws her for a loop. Loved how they came into her life and helped her to overcome her grief. It's not a path I would have expected and that made the book that much better.
Loved this story and how the author keeps you shocked at the next turn of events. An amazing read.
LOVED IT! like really loved it. This has everything a perfect cowboy story could have, should have. It went straight to my faves list and books I'd read more than once list. Roni, uh she so heart breakingly wonderful. So much so I'm pretty sure I just made that word up "breakingly" Then of course there is Coleman; sexy, funny, loving, loyal Coleman. My other book boyfriends should be nervous cause this character just upped the competition. And we know how much cowboys love competition. lol Lastly and I need to mention CJ. I read the author might be doing a spin off about him. I am now jumping in excitement. He's already an amazing character I just know a book about him will be well for lack of a better word amazing. Save a horse ladies!
What do you do when you lose everything you have? This is a story of loss and how Roni deals with it - badly. She runs and uses chasing storms as her crutch. She has a chance encounter with Coleman's son, who introduces her to his Bull Riding dad. She needs to take a chance - but is she willing to let someone in after she lost it all the first time? Excellent story - you will swoon after the mismatched eyed, bull riding stud that is Coleman Cade. RATING: 4.5 Stars TYPE OF NOVEL: Mature Adult Romance CHARACTERS: Veronica "Roni" Russo & Coleman Cade SERIES: Stand Alone Book DATE FINISHED: 2014/04/07
Getting this book for free was a bonus as this is such a great story. I loved the unique background of the 2, she is a storm chaser and he is a rodeo king. But their careers just serve as a backdrop, as this is a story about a hardened and broken woman who is finally stepping out of the dark after first meeting a charismatic 15 yr old, CJ, and then his smokin hott and equally charming father, Coleman. His mother, Nan, plays a pivotal role as well. A truly beautiful story and I loved every word. 5+++++ stars!!!! PS. But I am confused as to why CJS story hasn't been released yet when this story came out in 2013. Hmmphfff.....
Okay, I am officially a fan if Laurel Ulen Curtis! How had I never heard of her until this week. I almost died laughing from A is for Alpha Male! I really enjoyed The One Series. And now, I just adored Impossible! Her style is fresh, realistic in how the characters feel organic to the stories. And Impossible was no exception. I loved all of the characters; main and side characters alike. I liked the story. Again, this author likes a twist and I didn't see this one coming but it was good. I can hardly wait for more from her!!!
