Daniel and Sam live worlds apart, but share more than the same birthday. Sam can never sleep, while Daniel has never had a dream. On the eve of his 18th birthday that will all change. In his first dream he visits a strange world called Endërland, inhabited by people, mermaids and wingmen and where evil is seemingly absent. His arrival there however sets in motion a chain of events that threaten to destroy this new world, unless Daniel manages to succeed with the quest he now has to embark on with the help of a merboy, a wingman, a beautiful girl and her twin brother. Sam’s own journey will lead her in a similar direction and adventures, while she sets to find the truth behind her unusual insomnia.
Won this book on first-reads this is a brilliant fantasy book worth more than 5*rating loved the characters Daniel and nemo many others this book takes you into another world called enderland felt like a dream world I was visiting. I have been very fortunate to receive a free copy of this book from ‘Goodreads First Reads’.
I found this to be a very easy reading with the story flowing well throughout Daniels adventures both awake and asleep. The characters were good and contributed to the story. It thought it was very refreshing to have a story where a lot of the adventure took place whilst ‘sleeping’. Daniel was very lucky to have friends and allies in both worlds and, indeed, might not have survived without them. I enjoyed this book very much and shall have to read the next books in this trilogy as I need to know how the story develops from here! A great read. Thanks very much.
A delightfully imaginative and easy read. Ed's style of writing easily captures the reader from the first word until the last. I highly recommend this book for those who, like me, love to take the imaginative plunge into fantastic worlds, with all their magic and mythical creatures. If there's a tragedy, it's that we can't, sadly, stay. Great job.
I enjoyed this book very much. It was well written and exciting. There were occasional mistakes in spelling and grammar, but nothing major. I look forward to reading more by this author.
Exciting and engaging from start to finish with a cast of intriguing and likeable characters, this volume excellently balances the whimsy and tension befitting a modern fantasy novel. The pacing of the narrative between the real world and dream world segments transition smoothly and assist with engrossing the reader in both worlds. I particularly enjoyed the gradual development of the main cast as the story progressed and similarly how the antagonists were presented and the challenges they brought to the table.
Overall a very fun adventure. Absolutely worth the read.
