Nothing ever happened in Hailey’s small town. The most exciting event was the arrival of the Lockwood family. Hailey spent her days attending her last year of high school and running her parents coffee shop. Everything changes one night, when Lation Lockwood walks into her parent’s coffee shop. The events of the night turn Hailey’s world upside down when she discovers the entire Lockwood family’s secret. Her life is suddenly in danger when she meets Lation’s brother, Peirce. Peirce is unlike any man she has ever met. She soon learns he isn’t exactly a man. She is instantly attracted to him even though Lation, Peirce’s brother, saw her first. Hailey attempts to stay alive, and keep the people she loves out of danger as she gets caught up in a world she never imagined existed. To complicate her life even more, Peirce claims ownership over her. Hailey attempts to resist Peirce’s hold, all while trying to remain sane as she fights to find her place in this new unfamiliar world of darkness. Hailey soon finds herself a vampire’s possession, when Peirce refuses to let her go.
I have been writing since I was eight. I started out with poetry. Eventually, I moved on to short fantasy stories, then eventually books. I have always loved books, whether I was reading them or writing them. Books were always a perfect escape from reality. When I was growing up, I admired authors and I imagined I would eventually be one. The primary genre I write is fantasy romance. I love creating tough heroines and sexy vampires, werewolves, Fae, and every other supernatural creature I can come up with. I also write new adult romance when I am in the right mood. I want my readers to get the same joy from reading my stories that I do when I read some of my favorite authors.
This was kinda bad. It was like teenager try to write an paranormal erotic romance. This girl Hailey was not very bright and it seemed there was a lot back in forth in her decision.
So disappointing that this fab read for free, ended on a cliff hanger so each follow on book you have to pay for. It would work out quite expensive as sure book 2 ends the same.
Small town coffee shop , large family estate and vampires.....I love a good vampire story but although it wasn't blood thirsty enough for me I did enjoy it. Who would guess that the hot guys popping in for coffee would rock your world beyond belief.!!.
An intense book that grips you from page one I recommend for adults only due to detailed scenes of intimacy, as well as violence. A heartbreaking story that you won't want to miss.
This is a gripping book. Haily is trying to survive in a new world full of monsters she doesn't understand. The vampire politics is difficult for her to work out and she is slowly workinf it out. I read some reviews that said Haily's situation was abusive as she is controlled by the vampires, which she is, but the flip side is that she is trying to make her own way through the world she finds herself in. This has a cliffhanger ending.
This was the most aggravating and annoying book I couldn't put down. I kept thinking I would stop, since I have had trouble finishing novels recently. I love a well-written vampire romance novel with plenty of action or humor, and I couldn't decide if this was one.
Hailey is a slacker in high school. She doesn't like to study, but she avoids trouble and helps her parents manage their coffee shop, so she isn't a complete loser. One evening the new kid, Lation, shows up at her coffeeshop to ask her to a party. His timing couldn't be worse. A shooter tries to hold up the shop shortly after Lation arrives, and Lation is shot. When Hailey tries to call 911, he has to admit he is a vampire. Once she knows, other vampires start to arrive to check her out. One is Pierce, and one is her arch nemesis, Derrick. We never find out why he is after her in the first book.
What annoyed me: --the book needed a proofreader --Hailey was a whiny, self-centered teen who seemed to hate everyone she met and was constantly angry ---Everyone seemed to like her despite her bitchiness. WTF?
What kept me reading: --Sometimes you want a modern sexy vampire novel. There are no surprises. Vampires are not aliens, they don't have wings, they are hot, as in HOT. Thank you. --The gunfight. That is what I want to see in a heroine. ---Although there was ample description of clothing and food and was mostly staged inside a house, it was not a domestic romance. I never felt bored.
Note that there is a cliffhanger. I almost looked up the second novel as soon as I reached the end. It surprised me, and I wanted to flip the pages to convince myself that I didn't miss any more sections. But I am on the fence about reading further; Hailey would have to grow up a little more. I suspect she might in the second novel, but I just didn't see any signs of her changing. If you can stand Hailey, you won't waste your time reading this novel.
This book started out fabulous! I was completely intrigued and the love triangle developing was promising. Even once the love triangle had been resolved, I was enjoying it. It wasn't until the love interest started to become bipolar that I was growing weary. His character was a total hot and cold jerk. His revelations toward the end angered me. Then, the way the story came to a conclusion, wasn't to my satisfaction. I was completely unsatisfied with it. I will read the sequel, if only to see if the characters redeem themselves. This author usually does a great job, so I'm hoping for a great sequel. Three glittery stars!
I really love how Ella Price writes about vampires. In this book The Vampire's Possession, Hailey (human) meets Pierce (vampire) and she is instantly fascinated with him and vice versa. Pierce is very protective of her and there seems to be danger all around her. Haileys introduction to the vampire world is the most exciting thing that has ever happened to her and she found true love with the vampire Pierce. I can't wait to read the next book in the series and see where they go next.
Not very elaborate... Too much I am and dryly to read and get into the characters. Not very exciting read for me, couldn't wait to get to the end of this one so I could read something else. Sorry, maybe the next will be better
Grammatically this book is a disaster, however if you can read past that it's a decent concept. Could really use some good editing.. Overall it's an okay book with interesting characters but not written super well.
Well... sleep will evade you once you start this one
You'll love every character. And also hate every character. You'll cry and get angry right along with the characters. You'll want to find a way into their world to slap a couple of the characters. But in the end you'll fall in love with them.
