The story of Tanya is been crafted wonderfully in mere 173 pages and not to forget, the language of the author and the detailing she has provided while narrating the incidents will make you fall you in love with this book. The characterization of each and every individual has been done in a very captivating way, such that neither the readers are confused, nor bored. I would give 4 out of 5 for her narration in Are You Magic or Am I a Trick.

To start with, I would like to apologize for getting late on this one, to post my views on ‘Are you a Magic? Or Am I a Trick?’ which is the debut work of abstractly professional but dear friend, Arpita Chipkar. Initially, the writer keeps the Reader gripped and engaged in adventurously punching and naughty one liners of dreamer girl, Tanya Bhosle (An interesting character to explore). Eventually, the book dramatically advances to unfold its mystery, when a young girl comes to a new city like Bangalore and explores her dream and imagination to come alive; as she finds her Hero – Mihir Singh Rajput.

Plus Points:

Excellent narration and beautiful language used; which did not fill the book with jargons but rather has a polished form of daily communication.

Tanya Bhosle talking to her inner self and able to scan the sweeter and bitter side of herself; makes it easy for the Reader to come into Tanya’s shoe.

The plot of the story is unique and magical. I wish, if the mysterious story would not have ended up so flatly and the Writer would sluggishly wrap up the story.

Overall, a brilliant work by a debutant; who never really sounded or read as a beginner. This book of yours would keep me waiting to read your upcoming ventures. God Bless and all the Best..!!!

My rating for ‘Are you a Magic? Or Am I a Trick?’ would be 4/5; scored plus for concept/plot, language/narration and for being more of a Girl’s book, negativities would be the undeserved ending to the tale.

Thanks and Regards

There is a reason why love stories continue to work despite being filled with cliche narrative styles and the same old situations. Every love story is filled with a tiny thread of hope and nostalgia. You either travel back to the sweet memories of the past or you just feel good about how the writer’s thoughts mirror your present bliss.

Are you Magic Am I trick seamlessly mixes both fantasy and realism and makes it work. The plot – An author’s protagonist comes to life. You have to pick the book to find out what happens next.

The author devotes the first few pages to put forth a few impressions from her own life. But the story gains momentum once she shifts into story – telling mode. There are quite a few stand outs in the book. The good and evil connotations within the same person, the insecurities that creep in within a person towards a relationship as age catches up with him/her are all very well narrated. Another thing which impressed me is the author’s belief that life is an unscripted surprise. She holds on to that thought right till the very end.

The major turn off was the male protagonist’s flash back. A story within a story does not gel well with the narrative. There a few edit mistakes which can be corrected in the next edition. There are a few cliche situations but that is an integral part of attempting something within the romantic genre.

A very good first attempt. Definitely pick it up if you are a fan of the romance genre.

All the best Arpita. Hopefully more experimentation and genre hopping in your future books.

"ARE YOU MAGIC? OR AM I A TRICK?", debut work of Arpita Chipkar takes you on a ride of a modern fairy tale where a girl, Tanya Bhosle, imagines a prince charming in her book and later finds him standing in real life in front of her as Mihir Singh Rajput. Now everything that is left in her life is magic and mystery that only can be solved through her own book.

Arpita Chipkar has done great work with her narration part. The language of the book is having the ‘magic’ to hold the reader till the very end of the story. Once you start to connect with the story, there’s no way back. Both the lead characters of the book are portrayed with excellence. Characterization is another forte of this book. It was actually very hard to choose my personal favorite from the two characters but yes Mihir was actually a man to fall for (*Wink*).

There was one thing that I felt was not up to the mark of satisfaction and was storyline. I think that the story could have been better. The concept and the plot of the book, deserves to have a good storyline but it falls a bit flat at the end. Though I am not disappointed because the other things compensate the loss in the reading experience.

I’ll rate this book 4/5 because of the excellent narration and characterization.

Sometime you are so much lost in your fantasy, that you forget the real world and moreover inspite of admitting it as a fantasy you opt to stay in it, as you think it is much more better or way more beautiful in comparison to reality.
Reading the book, you will found yourself, lost, lost in dreams, lost in fictitious world, on the other side you might agree on the same .Mihir is a real men, the real royal thakur.
The way Arpita has expressed the minute details, the way she has expressed the inside blurb of a character will just sweep away your heart.
All in all i found the story quite intriguing and it will hook your up till the end..
As a debut novel arpita has done a phenomenal job !

Are You Magic Or Am I A trick ? By Arpita Chipkar

Congratulations For your debut book and thanks for counting me in your "reviewer list"

Quote :- "Someday, You will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again"

Glimpse Of The book :-

She lives life in her own little Fairytale :- Once upon a time there was a girl called "Tanya Bhosle" who was kind off a self obsessed pampered kid...Tanya was a fashion designer by profession and a writer by passion,Like any other teenage girl she was waiting for her "Prince Charming" to sow the seeds of "love" in her innocent heart....But what will happen when she will meet her "Mr.Perfect" in reality ??

To begin with, I am totally impressed by the outlook of this book,as the title is quite interesting and the cover page is kind off Vibrant.

My Views :- This book is a sum total of magnetic narration , Animated story line, Sugarcoated romance and FairyTale ending.
From Tanya's "Out Of box" imagination Skills to her crazy sense of humour, From Mihir Singh Rajput's
Classy yet so "Rajput's" trait To Tani's folks filmy understanding ,From Monica's and Abhi's "Unsaid" story to
Tanya and Moni's Awesome Buddy-Ship, from the "poetic narration" to that vicious "novel ending"..This book is a blissful read

Quotes From The Book :-

:- People Love everything that comes for free. Without A price Tag, People start taking your talent for granted
(They say if you are getting anything for "free" Just grab it no matter it is love or hatred OR elixir or poison)

:- Pain is more about how you interpret it

:- Life isn't scripted .Sometimes its better than how you wish it to be
(so stop cribbing if sometimes you are not getting what u craved for)

:- They Say Women are complicated, but i feel men are doubly so.
(Haha Guys please read this point again *Winks*)

Magic that worked and Tricks that failed :-

Content :- The language was simple and understanding, The first half and the end part were beautifully crafted but somewhere their were minor printing errors and the middle part was kind off running like too much was captured making it a bit chaotic

Fairytale V/S reality :- This book is a "Bumper offer" for the fairytale lovers but where practicality is concerned this book fails to some extent
(For example you have this sweet tooth but u cant ignore the fact that sooner or later you are prone to diabetes)

Characterisation :- Awesome Characterisation i can say that Each and every character has the charm to woo the reader but Mr and Mrs Rajput were kind off lost from the story

Overall, This book is a "Butter Chicken" for Fantasy lovers and all i can say is no old is too old for "FairyTales"

P.S :- A girl in me is very Happy After reading this book *Winks*

Rating :- 3.5/5
