5 Super Star Smut Scale Stars

This might be my favorite Alexa Riley to date.

I loved it.

I love powerful billionaires - because dream lottery list, I love age gaps - because underdeveloped morals, and I loooooove OTT possessive Alpha male - because HOTTT.

Plus: SMUTTY.

All the fuck no in FUCKNO town!!!

My childhood weeps.... full review to follow when my brain stops screaming in violent hatred at this fucking book!!

Once upon a time…

There lived a selfish, self-indulgent child who refused to grow up. He manipulated everyone around him into doing his bidding. A beautiful, temperamental ‘fairy’ fell madly in love with him but he treated her poorly (demeaning her love and everything she was because he was afraid of growing up and becoming a man – rather than the petulant child he currently was.)

I’m going to stop the comparison here, although if you look hard enough out of the corner of your eye with childhood destruction in mind the comparison is even more insidious than what I noted above.

Anyways, I don’t think I really need to explain why I hated this book so much. Notwithstanding the childish nickname “Tinkerbell” that the Love Interest *vomits* refers to the MC as, this is as infantile a smut read as I hope to ever put into my eye-sockets. A lot of the smut in this book doesn’t even make sense… I.e. so far as I have EVER been aware pre-cum is not heavy enough to actually drip through a man’s under-pants and ACTUAL pants, I mean I don’t know every guy but it seems that is a rather rare (if ever) occurrence.

Not only is the smut here not very good, in my opinion, but the overtures present are nausea inducing. Heavy handed ownership driven ‘love’, possessiveness and a sickening age gap combine to create a very uncomfortable Vampire Ninja.

** 1,5-2 “pixie dust” STARS **

“No, you won’t be flying anywhere, Rebecca. Consider your wings clipped.”
~ BRAY

description

Young blonde girl with purple and pink dye on her hair, Rebecca, works at a coffee shop.

Her highlight of every day is the hot suited-up guy, Mr. Vanilla, that comes in everyday, gets his coffee and talks to her a little.

Until the day he walks in with a pretty super-model-like woman on his arm and insults her about her physical appearance and her clothes.

After that, the girl tries to turn the guy’s life into a nightmare...how she will do that by just messing up with his coffee, only God knows.

She later learns that the guy is Mr. Bray Spencer, the owner of the whole building, a billionaire, a man SO out of her league.

After one day of trying Mr Vanilla’s patience at the coffee shop yet again, Becs is informed that she is fired.

OF COURSE, she barges into Mr. Spencer’s Office, half naked, and demands an explanation.

Oh and a new job. Because, DUH, he’s the reason for losing her job, so he has to provide her with another one.

She actually offers her virginity first, but Mr. Vanilla would rather have her clean his house and cook for him. That amazing man…

description

So why only 1,5 stars?

So many reasons... So many.

I actually have numerous bullsh*t lines highlighted but I don't have the patience to write them all down here, sorry ladies.

Let's get the main problems out and be done with it:

32-year-old virgin billionaire hottie, is Reason#1. He was so amazing at his first attempt at sex, by the way. With another 18-year-old virgin (Becs) that is. He rocked her world. He ruined her for all other men. Seriously.

Our extremely slutty little heroine, is Reason#2. For a virgin, she was a bit too eager to get her mouth stuffed with a c*ck. Just sayin'...

The childish, unrealistic, laughable plot, is Reason#3. I couldn't decide if I should LMFAO at all the ridiculousness, roll my eyes at them, or throw my damn e-reader to the wall out of fury for this joke of a novel.

OVERALL: I'm sorry if I'm being too offensive, or aggressive, or cruel, or whatever, but this is unacceptable. The only reason I didn't DNF is because I really...REALLY don't like doing it and because the book is short anyway. I'm sure the author can do much better than this. Much MUCH better.

I mean WTF is THIS:

“Oh, God, Bray.” She says shakily.

“Just Bray, baby. God isn’t getting anywhere near this p*ssy.”

"His world is order and perfection, I'm chaos and anarchy."

Bray is a CEO in a company, a total control freak who likes everything to be neat and in order. No problem with that, until of course, Becks walks in his life. She makes him be a completely posessive, obsessive freak who doesn't want to let her out of his sight, who wants to make her the mother of his babies just because she would never leave him etc.

She isn't this made-up doll on my arm, she's my Tinkerbell. My stolen fairy I've captured and I won't ever let her go.

On the other hand, we have a really sassy heroine, who at first was actually likeable to me with her IDGAF attitude and her frisky personality. But under his spell she becomes an insecure girl, who thinks that she doesn't fit in his world, that she's became his sex servant, bla bla bla. Annoying.

The idea of Bray being obsessed with me thrills me out. Hell it turns me on.

There's some suspense with a drug dealer who is after her ass and that was it. I'm paying the price for being a cover-whore. I was allured by it and the title made me think that maybe it would be a sweet story with two virgins etc. Sadly, I feel like I wasted my time on this book and it definitely wasn't for me. The only reason I gave this 2 stars was the heroine who made me chuckle a couple of times. Other than that, the writing was so ridiculous that I was laughing about how silly it as at times.

"Mine!" he growls, fully putting his mouth against me, attacking my clit. It's as if he thinks I might take it away from him.

I think it's official to say that I'm not a big fan of this author's heroes. First the guy from Taking the Fall: Vol 1 and now this one. I think we should just say goodbye to each other, because those heroes didn't work for me.

This was one HOT book!

Bray and Becs are a recipe for HoT and Dirty sex!
I think Becs is my favorite heroine from Alexa Riley's books so far!She has sass with an attitude(the first scene in Bray's office ohhhh la la)!AnD Bray was the gorgeous obsessive alpha male every girl needs...

The story was pretty good! And I liked how they clicked and completed one another!
So Becs was in focter care and she only has a brother(who is an asshole by the way but I forgave him in the end) and she struggles a lot!And Bray had a hard childhood and now is a control freak and a billionaire! ALPHAAA MALE!!!

Their worlds collided in a cafe shop where Becs works and Bray owns it!
From a misunderstaning they fight, so Bray hires her to take care of his house and live with him...

AnD that's how the sex begins....lots and lots of dirty sex...

The only thing I didn't like so much was that Bray the first half of the book pushed her away and it was like Becs was begging for his attention!Other than that it was a nice short story...

Enjoy!xxx

4 Two of the Same Stars

The Virgin Duet was a cute and adorable read. It felt longer than Alexa Riley’s normal reads, but that’s just me. It’s about two people, one girl from the wrong side of the tracks and a sexy billionaire, both share something in common… wait for it… they are both Virgins!

It’s actually a really cute story. There is a reason why Bray is a virgin and to my surprised, he’s a bit of a tortured soul. When Bec and Bray first meet, it’s pure insta-lust, but it wouldn’t be a Alexa Riley book if it wasn’t. Bec needs a job and he … is very intrigued with her so he hires her to live in his place to cook and clean.

But she does more than that, she stays in his room and well sleeps in his clothes. Kinky and fun times. Bray and Bec have this crazy sexual tension, but Bray doesn’t know how to be in a relationship and Becs can’t see herself in Bray’s world.

On top of that… Bec’s brother lands into trouble which follows her. Crazy I know. It’s a really fun, light and SUPER steamy read. I love all the naughty bits and the storyline kept my interest.
Alexa Riley never disappoints when I pick up her books.

This book started really well.
It has Becs storming into Mr. Spencer’s office (“Mr. Spencer as in Spencer Holding, the man who owns this whole goddamn building.”) wearing only pants, boots and a bra.
I loved Becs she was a breath of fresh air. Although I struggled with Bray a lot of the time. I tried to make excuses for his cold/rude behaviour. Sometimes it worked, others it didn’t.

It’s still a good hot read which I really liked. I just did love.

Over the years I’ve read a lot of Alexa’s books. Usually the covers are good and I liked this one until I read the book.
This is just not the right cover for this book. Look I know I’m being picky but it’s just not Tink.

Her short white-blonde hair with its color streaks of lavender and pink. A punk rock Tinkerbell is the only way I can describe her. I’ve never seen anyone so different, and breathtakingly beautiful.’

Yikes. This is almost as bad as Fifty Shades of Grey.

Let's see..

-Controlling and domineering hero who won't let the girl get out of the house without his permission..
-Immature heroine. If she were a real person I would've strangled her already. STOP TALKING!
-THE GUY PUT A TRACKER ON THE GIRL'S PHONE. CHRISTIAN GREY, ANYONE?
-They're both virgins but orgasms wildly their first time together?? How come they're so amazing at it already??? HOW?? It's so unbelievable.

I ONLY FINISHED THIS FOR THE SMUT BUT THE SEX SCENES WEREN'T EVEN HOT Y'ALL.

Well, this was not at all what I expected. Maybe I shouldn't have read it right after reading PS... You’re Mine. And, I'm probably not going to be in the norm here regarding this book.

Now, I love Alexa Riley's writing. It's easy and flows brilliantly and this one was no different. I absolutely adore her books and her heroes are to die for. I had no idea this book was filled with so much angst. I liked the idea of the two virgins coming together but, I was in emotional turmoil the whole time I read it. My eyes filled with tears and my gut clinched at times when reading Rebecca's POV. I hate for anyone to feel they are unworthy and not good enough and my heart was breaking. Thank god we had Bray's POV because I was ready to smack the fucker! I realize he had serious issues due to his childhood but the words that came out of his mouth sometimes just pissed me off. And why the hell didn't he fire his secretary himself? He knew she had an attitude towards Rebecca. He should have told her to piss off! I loved Chelsea and was glad she was a nonissue because I was definitely worried there for a sec.

And I really liked Rebecca. I know several people thought she was immature etc and had some TSTL moments but I actually thought she was very mature for being 18. I felt she was ready for Bray, to be what he needed. She had obviously been taking care of Sam too (whom I was ready to shoot myself!) and was trying to do the right thing. I liked her attitude and her hair! LOL

I could have totally done without the whole Nico mess. That one part, yeah you know which part, just made me sick. I was cringing and praying that it wasn't going to be what I thought.

So overall, I was a bit disappointed. It was still easy reading and hot but it just left me in too big of an emotional mess for me to really appreciate it. I will definitely continue reading her work since I've read many wonderful books after this one was written but this one was not one of my favorites.

**2.5 Stars rounded up because I love the author!

I loved this book! Bray and Rebecca were great together. Bray did hurt her feelings a few times, but I truly believe he didn't mean to- he just wasn't sure of the right way to act or the best way to express himself. He was so devoted to her and she to him. The drama and suspense portion of the book wasn't my favorite- I much preferred reading about the 2 of them building their relationship. Bray is one of my all time favorite heroes!! Mostly because in a vast sea of nasty manwhores this sweet man had absolutely no experience! I loved his thoughts when he was having all of his firsts with his Tink! Also- I loved how crazy he was about her. Safety gang safe

Of all Alexa Riley novels this is by far the book I despise. Solely because the female protagonist was ridiculously vulgar to think she was introduced as a strong-willed virgin.

Picture this; an 18-year old woman who escaped the foster care to steer clear of her foster father’s maniacal attempt. Her foster brother, Sam, helped her escape only to put her life in another jeopardy – drug dealing, prostitutions and mountain of debts. In order for her and Sam to survive, she works as a barista in a coffee shop living with meager pay, drive-in motels and cheap sales. And oh, she dresses like a slut because she’s comfortable that way.

Then bam, another scene; the coffee shop manager made an indecent proposal in exchange of reinstating her work. She refused, got really mad, barged into a high-class office wearing a bra, tights and boots (THAT comfortable) because she believed H was the reason why she got fired. H, at that time, was holding a meeting with another man. That man, sure as shit, verbally harassed her.

So with all those harassment she experienced, she chose to be vulgar?

Cheap.

Woman, puuuhlease, have some self-respect.

I had a great time reading this book. The stoyrline was unique. One wealthy businessman and a curvy girl with no interest in being what society wants her to be. Both are in need of someone, both are inexperienced when it comes to intimacy. When they meet, fireworks go off.
When Rebecca is fired from her job, she immediately thinks it's because of Bray, the rich man that has been coming to the coffee shop a lot lately. Angry and mad because she thinks he is responsible for her misery, she locates him and wants to make him pay.
What she doesn't expect is for the man to offer her a job. Shocked, but in serious need of money, she accepts and that is where the story becomes exciting. The attraction is slowly burning between them, but Rebecca's life is complicated and there are people who want to hurt her.
I liked the premise of the story, but I do think that the story focused too much on sex. After several scenes, it lost its spice and I was more eager to find out what happens with the other aspects of the story.
I do think that there could have been some more development in the romance department, but overall, I enjoyed the book. I liked Rebecca's rebelious behavior and I enjoyed her banter with Bray.

3.5 Stars from me.

Okay so I really liked this one. It was different from other Alexa Riley books in little ways, it had insta love but not insta sex, the story was longer and more like a novel.
But it still had an over obsessed alpha male and a strong independent female. I loved how Bray called Bec Tink.

Overall Opinion: This was a cute, fun and easy read. I liked the banter between the characters and even though they were both virgins it gets pretty steamy. Pretty light overall and enjoyable, but not sure it is going to be all that memorable in the long run. I do wish we had more experience with them developing their feelings, because both of them had pretty strong feelings for each other already at the beginning of the story.

Storyline: This is Becs and Bray's story. Becs just got fired from her job in a coffee shop in the bottom floor of Bray's building because of something he said to the manager. We meet the duo when she heads up to his office to confront him. There is a mutual strong attraction even though they are an unlikely couple. Bray ends up offering her a job cleaning his house and cooking dinner for him in exchange for a lot more money and a place to live. Eventually the duo give in to their attraction and start a physical relationship. Bray has a major hang-up with any physical activity because of a traumatic childhood and crazy father that sexually abused and controlled his mother (hence the 32 yr old virgin), but decides to give it a chance because he feels so strongly for Rebecca. After some drama with her foster brother, some steamy times, some clashing of worlds, a separation, some drama with a crazed drug/sex trafficking dealer, and some good ol' communication...the couple find their HEA.

POV: This alternated between Becs and Bray's POV

Overall Pace of Story: Ok. It was not slow in any points, but as I mentioned before -- I would've liked to experience their feelings being developed. Because we didn't experience that development, it was close to "instalove".

H rating: 3 stars. Bray. I loved how his neurotic tendencies were tamed with Becs, and how much he loved her. He was so concerned about becoming his father that he was bad at communication and sent some mixed signals.

h rating: 3 stars. Rebecca/Becs. She was witty and (for the most part) comfortable with who she was. I wish she communicated better instead of acting rashly. She dropped hints instead of coming out and asking what she needed to know (which I felt was kind of a contradiction for her, because otherwise she was a confident self assured girl).

Angst level: Low. Some drama going on, but no tissues required.

Heat level: Moderate. Some steamy times that sometimes get kind of OTT

Descriptive sex: Yes

Sex scene with OW or OM:

Cheating:

Possible Triggers:

Closure: This had a HEA ending with a cute epilogue that jumped 10 years (thank you! I haven't had a big time jump epilogue in a while!) and gave us some good closure.

I really love the cover for this one. This book had your standard Alexa Riley smut wonderfulness and it was a bit longer than her usual quickies. This was not a bad read, but not my favorite from Alexa Riley. Me not liking it as much as some of her other books had nothing to do with the both leading characters being virgins. *resists urge to get on soapbox*

I liked Bray's intimacy problems, they were well founded and were legitimate fears for him. The problems that Becs encountered were what I disliked most. Nico was obviously bad news, and Becs' "brother", Sam, wasn't doing anything to keep them out of Nico's cross-hairs. Becs kept trying to save Sam but he didn't want her help! It was so frustrating. She couldn't just leave him to his own devices and run back to Bray, she had to get herself all tangled in Sam's shit with Nico. And then it took Bray FOREVER to figure out what was going on!

So, ultimately, not my favorite, still sexy, but some of the problems that the characters had were annoying.

This started promising but ended up being hilariously bad and cheesy. The hero is creepy and obsessive, sometimes even disturbing. . The heroine is poor, young and stupid and doesn't know any better. And the whole calling her tink, tinkerbell and fairy was highly annoying. Not to mention they go from virgins to being the best lovers in the world in a matter of minutes. Um, no. Skip it if you can. 2.5 stars and I'm being generous.

I don't know what to feel. I was so excited to read this one because they're both virgins but I never thought this book was filled with so much angst. My emotions were all over the place and I hate the villain! There were parts I didn't like but there's a scene I was really hoping not to happen but lucky me, it did. I know it's not the worst but it's still bad and a little too much for me.

The story is about Bray and Rebecca.

She got fired at the coffee shop and the building owns by Bray, Spencer Holding. He's a very rich man and she wanted him to give her a new job and he did, to clean his place and cook for him. She also has to stay at his place.

So many things happened. Both good and bad. I love that he doesn't fool around with anyone before he met her but I would love it more if he's more alpha. If not because of his POV, I would also question his feelings for her.

It has an epilogue.

I was not expecting to really enjoy this, but I did! Yes the heroine was annoying at times and had her TSTL moments. But she was only eighteen. And unlike some other NA heroines I read about, she has some self respect and stood up for herself. The hero was good, but not great. Can you push someone away while holding onto them? If so, he did. His terrible experience that kept him a virgin was anticlimactic and seemed not enough for him to remain celibate until age 32. That being said. I enjoyed the book. I thought it had a good mixture of steam, drama, and angst. It was a bit low on romance, but had plenty of sex! Every time I thought something was going to ruin my enjoyment, the author pulled back and resolved it or moved on. That works for me. I don't mind getting my blood pressure up so long as she does not cause a heart attack! It had a nice HEA so I felt good after reading it.

Both H and h are virgins so this is a safe read.

Smut at it's Best...

If you want a quick hot read to make you blush and look over your shoulder JUST to make sure no ones looking, squirm in your seat while still making you laugh? Then you need to add Alexa Riley's books to your list..

Need to mention how much I love the cover.. it's so innocent looking but oh so sexy!!
Second the title is SO fitting LOVE IT!!

Predictable? Meh somewhat but super FUN and STEAMY..
Bray was a Control freak, OCD to the Nth and yes he was loaded, he was filthy rich and mysterious... Everything in his life was orderly but yet understated..
Becs was carefree, spunky but still a bit guarded when it came to letting people in. She grew up in foster care, now on her own and barely managing.

The h was really an idiot who always jumped to conclusions. Thank god we had the H's POV or otherwise I would've probably hated him.

I didn't like the drama with Cindy and for someone who doesn't ever have anyone over at his place, I don't know why he allowed Cindy in. And I also wanted him to fire her. Especially when he saw what a bitch she was being to the h. He still allowed her to be his assistant! Wtf. His "obsessiveness" wasn't swoon worthy at all. It was pretty creepy to me. And what was the deal with Bray's panic attacks and anxiety? It was never fully developed because the h "made it all better."

I listened to this over my commute to and from class and it was so dramatic I ate it right up !! Alexa Riley knows how to give me a well placed anxiety attack well before breakfast and I love that. These two were hot and cold through the entire listen. I couldn’t tell if they were going to fight or f*ck and our FMC was such a brat which I love !!! Brats don’t get enough love in contemporary. Even though this wasn’t over the top alpha hole and ddlg like I love from AR this still gave me all the flipping feels !!

You know those books that you’re just unsure of? The Virgin Duet was one of those for me. I have gone back and forth for the last three days on if I even wanted to review it or not. I decided to go ahead and do so, but it’s not going to be a full review, or even a long one for that matter.

This book is told from an alternating first-person point-of-view between the main characters. I was honestly drawn in by the pink hair and the book cover with all the diamonds. When I first started reading it, I was actually chuckling. The situation made me laugh, and then I slowly started to cringe.. and by mid-way through the book I just flat out felt like it was awkward to read. I was really having second thoughts and almost DNF it.

There ended up, for me, being some unbelievable plots twists and hooks in this book that just made me shake my head. I felt like if the author was going to use them, there could have been a smoother transition, or a lead up to them. Not just.. bam, out of no where.

As for the MC’s, you do have a completely OCD guy who is older. Bray is obsessive to the point of teeth grinding and then turns into possessive with a side of obsessive and it just doesn’t ring of love to me. (Other people may go with it, but I can’t swallow that.) Then you have Becs, who at first I sort of liked, then she ended up being empty headed, no backbone, and a ninny with a side of “I’m really slutty.” thrown in. It even reads really slutty to me, and although they try to back it up with stuff, it just again, doesn’t read out.

I had a really hard time rating this book. I’ve swung between a three and a one, and finally decided to settle on a two. The story was okay, I did finish the book.. would I recommend it or reread it? Nope. As per usual, there are a lot of people who did like this book, but for me, it’s just a no go.
