Long ago, before men came to the shores of Ireland, there lived a race of gods who fought a great evil to keep their island from sinking into the sea. Knowing men were destined to rule the land they loved, the gods created four great treasures to guard their beloved isle should the great evil rise to destroy it once more. Thousands of years would come to pass before the treasures were needed, before man would have to fight, to save Ireland from destruction.
When Erin Whitney came to Ireland to write about a Celtic myth she wasn't expecting to be catapulted into an ancient battle of good and evil, or to fall in love with the aloof Ian MacQuill. She struggles to find a balance of her past and future but the secret she brings with her from Russia can change everything.
Ian MacQuill is finally coming to terms with his past when he finds a mysterious gypsy living in his home. Who she is to the world, and to him, brings his past troubles home again. He doesn't want to fall in love, if only for the risk of losing what he finds all over again, but fate has other ideas in mind.
Will Erin lose her stubborn pride before the world around them falls apart? Can Ian open his wounded heart to love before he loses the woman capable of healing it? Can they come together to save the world, and each other?
With a mix of magic, suspense and plenty of romance, Irish Truth will take you on a journey that turns myth into reality and proves that love was the answer all along.
My high school sweetheart, my partner for 18 years, father to my three children, confidant, and best friend, was gone so suddenly, I couldn’t grasp the new reality I was forced into.
But my children needed me, and though grief sometimes threatened to drown me, I pulled away from the choking darkness of loss, to be strong for them.
I thought maybe I wouldn’t be able to write again: After all, I had lost MY happily-ever-after, how could I create one for my characters?
But I have come to realize that just because the love story I had with my husband ended, in a way I never anticipated, didn’t mean it wasn’t real, true, and full of love. It didn’t mean I couldn’t still believe in it, hope for it, write about it, find it again.
On the contrary, it meant I knew what it took to find it, to create it, to keep it, to nurture it, to survive losing it. And it has made me a stronger woman because of it.
I have always believed that everyone deserves a happily-ever-after, and that some love stories are born in the dark.
Now, I can say, that some love stories rise from the ashes of another story, and though it may be different, it is still love, it is still deserved, and it still breathtakingly wonderful.
I urge you all, no matter where you are in your journey of life and love, to never stop believing in that happily-ever-after, whatever that story means for you.
I had the honor and privilege to be a beta reader for Amanda Meredith. I had read the previous 3 books and loved them. Amanda wrote this one the way we all want to see our favorite series' end, with love and attention to each single detail. You weren't left wondering what happened to any of your favorite characters. This story gave you everything, love, romance, fantasy, and, last but not least, happily ever after!
I can't wait to see where Amanda ' s imagination takes me next......
“Like the truth, denial wouldn’t change anything.”
“I will not let fear dictate what I do or where I go.”
Amanda Meredith brings the Irish Treasures series to a stunning conclusion with book 4, ‘Irish Truth’. This time around it is Brigid’s brother - Ian MacQuill along with Erin Whitney to guard the final treasure and completely defeat the Fomori. Hailing from the snowy landscapes of Russia, Erin Whitney is a gypsy who travels to Ireland on a mission. Ian and Erin are drawn towards each other, but both of them have a lot to deal with and let go before they can come together. It was well established in the first three novels that the Fomori were evil. Reading about Ian’s traumatic past was truly shocking and it further established how deep the Fomori’s sinister ways were. Ian and Erin are well supported by their large, extended families and together they fight resiliently in their journey of vanquishing age old evil.
This is the final book of the Irish Treasures Saga.
When Ian finds a strange "gypsy" in his home, he finally realizes he has to put his past in the past.
Erin Whitney didn't realize when she came to Ireland to write a book about Celtic myths, that she would end up in a battle of good and evil herself. She tells Ian and the rest of the clan about being plagued by the black wolf who attacks her every 4 years and that she is the guardian of the stone she wears around her neck.
This is a great ending to the series--full of love and romance, and fantasy with a happily ever after in the end. This is one series you have to read. It is wonderful.
