~ 3 Her Dragon Heart Stars ~
Her Dragon’s Heart is book eight in the Dragon Guards series by Julia Mills. It was a fairly good read in the series. We get dragons, witches, and shifters.
I always have a good time returning to this world, with its sexy dragons and the one woman whom the Universe has created for them. I like that the books are quick reads.
Her Dragon’s Heart was an enjoyable book. The romance is an insta-love/attraction, so everything happens quickly. My main issue was that for most of the book our couple was apart and it just did not feel like they had the time they need to get to know one and other. The author does indicate at the begging of the story that our couple has spent a lot of time together, a few months, but something felt off to me. When they do get together the sensual scenes are steamy.
This was a nice installment and even though it was not my favorite, I still enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next book. If you enjoy dragons, then I recommend giving this series a try.

Wow! The very talented Julia Mills has stolen our hearts once again with Her Dragon's Heart, the eighth riveting release in her bestselling mega-hit Dragon Guard Series. Like many of her other loyal fans, I have followed this series since the very beginning and can't seem to get enough of the wonderful adventures of the super sexy Dragon Guard. I love it! Although this book can be read as a standalone, I would highly recommend reading the books in order. You'll never regret it but you may just find that you also have become a die-hard Julia Mills fan! The story is exciting, thrilling, fast-paced, action-packed, suspenseful, romantic and seductive. And did I say sexy? No? Well, it's seriously sexy!!! The dialogue flows effortlessly and the narrative is exceptionally well written in the third person with multiple points of view. There were a few errors that could be easily corrected with a good edit but nothing that detracted from the story. The characters are fascinating, captivating, engaging and endearing. The heroes are brave, loyal, swoon-worthy alpha males and the heroines are beautiful, intelligent, courageous and fiercely independent females. Each book features a different dragon guardsman finding his true mate, the one woman the universe made just for him. In this story, we have handsome dragon shifter, Jace MacQuaid of the Golden Fire Clan and his destined mate, lovely nurse and white witch Melanie Rose Whelan, who just happens to be the granddaughter of the Grand Draoi of the Dorcha, a coven of wizards and witches who worship demons. He kept watch over her and their bond grew. Then one night, he didn't hear or feel anything through their growing bond. She didn't know what it was about him that drew her but she couldn't let him get too close especially with her past. Do they make it? What's her past?

Each story seems to be similar, but yet there is a enough difference to be enjoyable. I am loving how all the past stories are included. This way you keep seeing new guards find their mates, but you still see the other characters grow, but still can be stand alone books. Jade is the youngest of the Dragon Guard and Meli Rose is pure with an evil background. Can't wait for the next

This was much shorter than the other Dragon Guard series. However, that doesnt take away from the story at all! I've loved Jace's character from the other books. He's started out small and had gotten a bigger role as the books go along. He's the youngest of the Dragon Guards. He's a bronze dragon and is oh so sweet. Too cute and sexy...wait...can they be both cute and sexy? Oh yes they can! He's known who his mate is for awhile and has watched over her and has gotten to know Melanie Whelan a nurse who works at the hospital. She appears human but she is nothing but. She's a witch in hiding and has wanted to live a normal life after living a horrific life with her Grandfather. He's NOT a nice man. Craves power...thing is he's not always been that way. He's been the loving Grandfather years ago when she was little and just craved power and it changed him. Jace and Melanie are very drawn to each other...he knows why but he's wanting to give her time and also trying to get up the nerve to tell her everything. However, before he can do that she is kidnapped by her Grandfathers minions. Ha...I said minions which thats what they are. He wants her power sooo bad but has come up with a detestable way of getting it without sacrificing her which is whats hes done previously with others. Now that his mate has been kidnapped he calls on his fellow guardsmen and Kyra to help find her. Love love Kyra. LOL. Melanie has sensed Jace but not sure what it means but tries to talk to him durng her captivity hoping he hears her. Which he does as he gets closer to her. Once she finds out he's a dragon...she passed out lol. Not so much because of that but after everything its taken its toll and hello the man she loves is a dragon. It was a bit much for her! He he. Anyways....their love wont be denied and neither will these wonderful mates Jace and Melanie. He's so romantic and sweet. Loved the book. Guess who finds their mate???????? Oh yeah Liam! I feel so bad for Melanie's childhood best friend Hannah. Her Grandfather put something so very evil in her. I cant WAIT for the next book! I also can't wait to see mates for the Blue dragons Rian and Rory....they are so funny and hot! Secondary characters once again are so awesome and just make the book(s) better in this series. Loved it!

Jace MacQuaid has met his mate - Melanie Rose Whelan (a nurse and white witch) who has been hiding from her evil coven. There is such a strong bond between them because they are in love with each other. Jace can feel her emotions and some of her thoughts. All of a sudden, he can't get anything from her and knows something is terribly wrong. He goes to her apartment and sees there was a struggle. Her grandfather, who is the head of her coven has had her kidnapped. He needs a relative - Melanie is the only one left - to sacrifice so he can gain her powers and strengthen his again. He's head of the Dorcha Coven and he's evil and uses black magic. That was why Melanie ran away from the coven and didn't use her magic so he wouldn't find her but he finally did. Jace and his friends track Melanie to where she is being held. Can they save her and get her away from her grandfather? Will they have their happy ending? There is plenty of mayhem and action. Liked all the other stories in the Dragon Guard Series, this was a fantastic one too. Can't stop reading it until you are finished!

I really do love Dragon shifters and this series has been a bit hit and miss for me and the 8th instalment kind of left me wanting a bit more. It was a shorter one which I feel puts a bit of a rush on things and leaves it a little underdeveloped. Jace had been mention in previous books as one of the younger Dragons so I cant say I was expecting him to get his own book.
I guess my main issue was that the couple spent nearly 70% of the book separated with little interaction, and while some of the inner dialogue gave us a little back history, maybe a couple months of them seeing each other I felt they needed more time to get to know each other better before the whole insta-love thing. It felt very rushed when the h was rescued with no real explanation and while I get the whole fated mates things, why bother if that's the easy quick answer to everything.
I did like reading about all the past characters and the newer ones as well.
This definitely isn't one of my favourites of the series so hopefully the next one is better (and longer).

Amazing Read
If you love dragons and happily ever after, then you'll love this book!!! But if you're any normal person and have read the first 7 books to this series, then you already know this book rocks!!!! Every book in this series has had me laughing, crying, and cursing! Julia is an amazing author and never disappoints. I'm now moving on to the next book 😀

Very Good Read
This is a quick sensual read with action, danger, murder and mayhem. A dangerous problem from her past has kidnapped her and Jace must find her. This is an exciting entertaining read. Enjoy I did.

Book 8 jace is a new guard in training been in the background a few times in the last few books and Mel is a nurse who I think has showed up a little.This is a short read no more than 124 pages but it felt longer.All past books was about bad Dragon Andrew gone dark with dark wizards magic and also hunters and dark wizards, but now Andrews dark days are gone.we have a new evil (but still hunters and dark wizards)grandfather to Mel is after her magic and not giving up and kidnapped her and unknown to her done something to her best friend to help him (hannah ready for next book) Liam jaces friend saw Hannah at the save Mel attack and realized she is his mate but something is in her.This is ok but I miss the original characters a few are in this helping him but being a short read not much just for the repetitive stuff

I love this series! Jace started off as a side character in the series and has gradually grown into his own with this book, "Her Dragon's Heart." The youngest of the Dragon Guard, the bronze dragon has known who Melonie was for quite some time, keeping watch over her thinking she's human. Melanie, on the other hand, is a witch trying to keep hidden in the human world at the hospital from her grandfather who has turned evil from his quest for power. Even though this book is shorter than some of her previous ones, there is no less adventure or romance in it's delivery. I get the same thrill each time I read one of Julia Mills Dragon Guard books knowing that "There are no coincidences, The Universe does not make mistakes and Fate will not be denied."

Jace realised that Melanie was his mate when he first saw her but wanted to let her get to know him before surprising her with the fact that she was his and he was a dragon shifter. Melanie had secrets of her own as she was a white witch and in hiding from her evil grandfather who is a black magic wizard. Getting abducted and taken back to the coven she was brought up in wasn't what she expected but for some unknown reason she felt like Jace knew and was on his way to rescue her. I would highly recommend this book and hope that other readers enjoy it as much as I did.

A female witch has had her magic hidden for eighteen years so that she could stay hidden from her evil grandfather. She is a nurse at a local hospital where two female doctors work that are mated to male dragon shifter warriors. A dragon shifter warrior has been on protection duty for the doctors and has found his mate. You will have to read the book to find out what all happens to everyone. Plenty of twists and turns in this story. Happy reading!

Great Series!!
What a fun read. The camraderie and dedication the dragons have for each other make you long for that sense in our own lives. It is rare that an author wakens our emotions and dreams of "a better way of life". This series seems to have acheived that. Obviously I am a Fan! As long as you are writing I'm reading. What else can I say other than if you miss this series you are really missing out.

INTERESTING SERIES, BUT BECAME REPETITIVE AFTER A FEW BOOKS
After reading a few of these, I decided to write one review for all of them. I found these books to be pretty good, if somewhat formulaic. If a reader is looking for a good story with some drama & where the main characters go through some terrible things, but ultimately end up together, I think they will enjoy this series of books. It is sometimes nice to read a "happily ever after" story.

This was a short story and couldn't seem to decide where it fit in the timeline. For the main part it obviously took place after Andrew and Emma's story but there was one glaring continuity problem and that was Sydney. The story itself was okay and serves as a bridge to the next arc but I just find continuity issues unforgivable for an author. These are their stories and they should be able to keep them straight.

Another Wonderful Addition
Each story seems to be similar, but yet there is a enough difference to be enjoyable. I am loving how all the past stories are included. This way you keep seeing new guards find their mates, but you still see the other characters grow.

Great read
Jace and Melanie story will pull you in you cant pick who your family is or how people can turn but you can grab onto the light of love to carry you threw. This is what Jilia Mills writes with such emotions that love will help your over come great trials ..... i cant wait to read more

LOVED IT
As I move on to books about some of the younger dragons I really enjoy the fact that the original Dragon Guard and the big cats are still in the story. I'd miss them if they were gone.

Couldn't put it down!
The faith that these two had for each other was amazing. You just want to be around them to feel their vibe. There were definitely some scary hold your breath parts. But it was worth it in the end.

Another dragon finds his soulmate even though this time there are definitely fireworks as he is headstrong and she is a woman with a past that is not prepared to be hidden. Lots of drama and struggles but a HEA at the end. Well written and enjoyable.
