Clare Connelly Sheikhs #3

At The Sheikh's Command

Rate this book
“What the hell was that?” She demanded fiercely, striding across the room in pursuit. Her negligee was torn, and hung loose about her stomach. She pulled it off impatiently, uncaring that she was totally naked.

He turned, slowly, his back ramrod straight. He seemed to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders. “Sex, Miranda. That was sex.”

He sounded bored. As though he were explaining a simple concept to a child.

“You can’t just…. I mean… I haven’t seen you in days. I haven’t heard from you. And you just… walk in here… and expect me to… for us to…”

He crossed his arms over his chest, refusing to let her confusion wear him down. The more tenderness he felt for this woman, the harder he had to be with her. For she was not someone he could ever become involved with, other than sexually, and he would not give her the wrong impression.

“Of course I can, Miranda. This was our deal, remember?”

Miranda travels to the conservative Kingdom of Fasiya with a simple enough goal in mind. Her best friend Mastepha is in trouble and needs money - money she has spades of in her Fasiyan apartment. Unfortunately, Mastepha happens to be the sister of the all powerful Sheikh Radiz Zamin, and he doesn't look kindly on the attempted theft. Miranda can't reveal the truth about the reason she's come to Fasiya in place of her friend - if Radiz discovers his sister is pregnant to some British barman, he'll be furious!

Radiz suspects the beautiful thief has something to do with Mastepha - they’re a similar age and herald from the same city, after all. He hopes she might even be able to tell him something about the sister who has increasingly become a stranger to him. Unfortunately, Miranda is intractable, and refuses to reveal anything about her motivations - and she certainly won’t acknowledge any connection to the wayward royal. Despite her denials, a sixth sense convinces Radiz that she knows far more than she’s letting on.

Faced with the option of leaving her to rot in a Fasiyan prison for the rest of her life, or attempting to elicit the truth from Miranda using whatever interrogation techniques are at his disposal, Radiz opts for the latter.

A complicated web of seduction, desire, and secrecy unfolds around them. Only it can't last. Miranda has lied to Radiz in a way he'll never be able to forgive, and the only option she has left is to flee his Kingdom and try, with all her heart, to forget the way he makes her feel in his arms.

For all things Clare Connelly, please see www.clareconnelly.co.uk, the official home of Clare Connelly on the web.

Clare Connelly grew up in a small country town in Australia. Surrounded by rainforests, and rickety old timber houses, magic was thick in the air, and stories and storytelling were a huge part of her childhood.

From early on in life, Clare realised her favourite books were romance stories, and read voraciously. Anything from Jane Austen to Georgette Heyer, to Mills & Boon and (more recently) 50 Shades, Clare is a romance devotee. She first turned her hand to penning a novel at fifteen (if memory serves, it was something about a glamorous fashion model who fell foul of a high-end designer. Sparks flew, clothes flew faster, and love was born.)

Clare has a small family and a bungalow near the sea. When she isn't chasing after energetic little toddlers, or wiping fingerprints off furniture, she's writing, thinking about writing, or wishing she were writing.

This novel started out in a rather humorous vein but then it sort of levelled off into more mundane matters, such as the heroine's belated realization that she traded her virginity like a whore. But what is really awful in this story is the fact that the heroine, WHO HAD NOT HAD A SHOWER FOR 3 DAYS , had sex with the hero after meeting him that same day. My problem with the author is this: Wtf can a woman be thinking by baring her 3 DAYS UNWASHED pussy for sex with a stranger ? 😐🤦😒😆 That's just fucking nasty ! Didn't your momma ever teach you to have feminine pride bitch ? Three damn days without washing or even changing underwear ? That pussy's gonna be reeking ! This is NOT sexy, Clare Connelly. I've read some fucked up shit but seriously ... this is the first time a virgin heroine bares a 3 day dirty vag to the hero and then screws him. And wtf is up with him? Man I wanted to fuck him up in his head with a karate kick. I know some man whores will fuck anything with a hole but at least ensure the hole gets washed first, you dirty bastard. But other than the dirty pussy sex, the story itself was entertaining.

Hehe...

Now that's an emotional, entertaining read. Made me laugh then brought sadness to my heart, before it had me laughing and happy again. Such a cute Sheikh tale. I do love the Sheikhs and Princes!

The first 100 pages had no romance in it, only sex. The rest of the novel had a patched up bare bones story for the sake of it. No idea why they fell in love. Even if it is love at first sight there needs to be something substantial to sustain it but not here. He does nothing but has sex with her n leaves immediately and treats her v bad and still she falls & stays in love with him. How this started was so wrong on so many levels. Utterly disappointed!

I was fooled once again by the high average rating of a book.
Rating i dont understand!
The man treated her like a w.h.o.r.e. Then dumped her & sent her packing when she told him she loved him (don’t get me started on how can u fall in love with such a brute!) and even when he came to London months later it was just to see his sister.
Also did my copy come without the grovel? Really!
Oh and The BBS is just BS 😒🙄

A great quick read about a lady named Miranda trying to steal jewels for her friend who is a princess that is trying to hide a secret from her royal family. But Miranda gets caught..... She make's a deal with Sheikh Radiz Zamin for her freedom. At the Sheikh's Command is full of drama, sex, some romance and a HEA.

First sex scene

This story is wrong from the first sex scene. Miranda told Rad she had not bathed in 3 days and still the author has them having sex. Rad would not have ever taken a person who was that unclean. He would have bathed her and then had sex!
These authors need to get their facts right. Uuuggghhh

A little more mystery and excitement may help the story line. But it was a lovely story.

I am a sucker for any romance that has "Sheikh" in the title and have read lots by Clare Connelly. This is my favorite by far. I can't really say what makes it stand out from all the others for me, maybe the writing style. Plot has been done before but for whatever reason this one stuck with me.
