The Baseball King

Rate this book
The Baseball King, Max C. Weiss' first published book, was inspired by this eight-year-old author's entrepreneurial spirit, his love for baseball, and his interest in storytelling. Encouraged by his younger siblings, Max weaves a narrative that explores the bond of friendship and the dedication and sacrifice required to become the best. Illustrated by Max's grandmother.

I received this book in a Goodreads Firstreads giveaway. The book said the author is a child, but I took a children's literature class in college, and I have to say this book is better than some written by adults. I love the lesson that with hard work dreams can come true, and what sacrifices might have to be made to be the best. Highly recommend this book!

Cute book about working hard.

Good story and good illustrations. A good lesson on working hard for something you want. Kids that like baseball will like this story. My only wish is that illustrations were in color. Recommended.
