An Amish Spring left off with Drusilla Riehl coming home just in time for her to help her mother, Esther, delivery the newest addition to the Riehl family; baby sister, Anna.
"An Amish Summer: An Amish Christian Romance" picks up just about where An Amish Spring left off with the Riehl family. We enter the summer months with Drusilla and family as everyone is adjusting to baby Anna, only baby Anna does not seem to be adjusting too well.
There is always something that needs to be done on the farm, in the garden, and in the farmhouse. Drusilla gets very little break as she is the oldest daughter in the Riehl siblings, helping her mother tend to baby Anna and household. Daniel, the oldest son of Amos and Ester Riehl, helps Amos with the tending to the farm.
Drusilla is questioning her relationship, a little, with Caleb, since she has seen nor heard from him since the birth of her sister Anna. That soon changes as we read "An Amish Summer: An Amish Christian Romance" and we get a closer look at there relationship.

I am so excited, I can not wait for "An Amish Autumn: An Amish Christian Autumn Romance in Lancaster County" to be released, so I can read what happens next with Drusilla Riehl and Caleb. I have a few ideas as to what will happen, but I know Sarah Price and she's going to throw me a loop I am sure in "An Amish Autumn: An Amish Christian Autumn Romance in Lancaster County".
No money was exchanged for this review and this is all my opinion in my own words.
Caleb and Drusilla's relationship is questionable at this point in this series. Dru continues to doubt both herself and Caleb. Drusilla's character is rather frustrating due to her lack of confidence in herself and in Caleb's attention toward her. Her doubts at times caused me to be a bit annoyed with her. I love Caleb's character. He's so levelheaded and practical, and is true to his word.
I felt somewhat sorry that Drusilla had so many responsibilities helping with the farm and taking care of the new baby in the house. Her mother appeared to be suffering with postpartum depression. This is one of the reasons I love Sarah Price's stories. She integrates realism that is believable, and her characters are relatable. Drusilla takes her responsibilities seriously as Caleb's patience with her is commendable.
I'm looking forward to reading An Amish Autumn to see where Drusilla and Caleb are in their relationship.
