Loose lips shink ships, or they can confess a love that has never died through the heartbreaking years. Something happened all those years ago that made Jake run and Sydney never knew what it was, but that couldn’t stop her from loving him, even as a teen. Years later he’s back and Sydney knows her heart is still vulnerable to the handsome man with a bundle of secrets packed deep within. Jake says he still cares, but the nightmares of the past have followed him home and it looks like he may bolt again. He dries her wild, makes her wanton, but he’s still holding back. Sydney needs more, but she had no idea what she was in for when Jake’s past came knocking at his door. But is Jake the only one with secrets?

Romance should make one’s heart pump with hope, it should have us melting at seeing two individuals who clearly share something special, finally take a chance on happiness. Romance should even have conflict, because how else can we know a couple has stood the test of loyalty, trust and sharing?

Shannyn Leah’s Lakeshore Love has just the right amount of swoon-worthy moments, passionate moments, moments that would try the patience of a saint and finally, the high tension moments just as the conflicts come to a dangerous head. Ms.Leah creates a world filled with caring family and friends, but lets us know that everyone needs something just for them, that special love of their lifetime. Follow another McAdams sister as she finally has a chance to share the passion she holds within. If you like interfering sisters, that banter that only sisters can do and the idea that love will find a way to the finish line, no matter what, this is a romantic series you’ll love. Life is chaotic sometimes and Ms. Leah has added enough emotional and physical chaos to strike a chord deep in one’s heart without being overly sweet and certainly without that over-the-top angst. Light enough to make for a wonderful read on a dreary day, deep enough to bring her characters and their feelings to life. This author has a talent for romance that feels right.

This is my third McAdams Sisters book and I just connected with Jake and Sydney in such a positivc manner. Jake is the owner of the Cliff House where Sydney had always worked until the sisters opened their soap shop.

Sydney and Jake had a history that was filled with secrets and regrets. The first problem was that they secretly loved each other and neither of them admitted it.
It was only when Sydney got drunk and ended up with Jake at his apartment that she confessed her love to him.
Problem # two was that she had no memory of that night.
Problem #three was that Jake had left without any explanation before and left a confused and lost Sydney.
Problem #four was that Sydney wasn't sure she could count on him not to leave her again.

Those four problems were really only the tip of the iceberg. This book had a lot to cover and a lot to solve if we got the Happy ever after we all want. There were side characters that filled the pages with anger, fear and uncertainty. This story is so good I did not want to take a break to sleep. I did and came back to it fresh in the morning in a hurry to find out what was going to happen next. I am anxious to see what else is in store in the By The Lake Series.

Lakeshore Love is book 3 is the McAdams Sisters Series. I highly recommend you read the series in order to get a better depth/connection with the series.

Sydney had a teenage pregnancy that resulted in her daughter Haylee. She has been raising Haylee with the help of her sisters, and Joan, the mother of Haylee's dad. Both her son and husband died in a car accident before Haylee was born.

Joan's, step-son, Jake Stow runs/owns a restaurant and bar in town. He left town when Sydney was sixteen without letting her know. Prior to that they were high school sweethearts. They are best friends now. Sexual tension builds between them. They finally give in to their feelings. In the back of Sydney's mind she's living with the fear that he'll leave her again.

They both have secrets. They have to decide to live with those secrets or take a chance with telling those secrets.

This series gets better with each book. I seem to connect more with the characters even more as the series goes along.

I love the dynamics of the McAdams sisters. Each one of them is unique in their own way.

Lakeshore Love is the third book in the McAdams Sisters series and can be read as a standalone.

I've enjoyed all the books so far, but this one has become my favorite. Unlike her older sisters who left town, Sydney, having gotten pregnant at sixteen, has always remained behind with her daughter, Haylee. She has always had feelings for Jake. Now Jake wants to start a relationship, but Sydney is afraid he's going to leave town again.

Jake's family situation isn't ideal, and he's hesitant to reveal its true nature because he doesn't want anyone to know just how bad it was. You can't help but feel for him and what he and his sister had gone through, along with what his nieces and nephew had gone through. I liked how Sydney wouldn't back down, though, and how supportive and accommodating she was with the kids.

I wasn't expecting Sydney's secret, and I enjoyed the twist.

I'm looking forward to seeing what's in store for Abby, the last of the McAdams sisters.

This is the third book in the McAdams Sisters series - it is Sydney's story. Sydney McAdams is a single mother juggling working at her family's new soap shop in the town of Willow Valley and raising her daughter Haylee who is now almost a teenager. Sydney has been raising Haylee with the help of her sisters and Haylee's grandmother, Joan. Haylee's father and grandfather were both killed in a car accident which left Sydney fearful of driving. Jake Stow is Joan's step-son and runs the family restaurant. Jake and Sydney were best friends growing up until one day Jake left without saying goodbye and Sydney was devastated. One night Sydney gets drunk and states that she loves Jake. The next morning she wakes up in his bed naked and cannot remember what happened the night before so she quickly leaves and things become a bit "weird" between the two of them (according to Haylee). Fast forward a few months and Jake feels that after ten years he and Sydney should try to make a go of a relationship; however, until Jake comes to terms with his past and explains to Sydney why he left all those years ago she does not want to get into a relationship with him. Will they be able to work things out? Only time will tell. This is another great read from Shannyn!

Sydney and Jake's story was similar to Marc and Kate's. When Sydney and Jake were teenagers they were sweethearts and always there for each other. When Sydney was 16, Jake up and left without a reason why. After Jake returns Sydney and him pick back up as being the close friends. That they have always been The feelings between them are still there but they both keep their walls up. As time passes and the sparks fly. Jake's secrets from his dark past come out.

This is definitely one of my favorite books in this series. I love every book so far that Shannyn Leah has wrote. She is a very talented writer and by far one of my favorites.

Lakeshore Love by Shannyn Leah. This is the third book in the Lakeshore Series. This series follows the McAdams sisters. This is Sydney’s book.
Sydney had to grow up fast, getting pregnant at 16 will do that. She always had feelings for Jake but tried keeping them hidden. She thought they had something special when they were younger but Jake left and just recently did they both give in to the attraction. Can they make it work this tie or is Jake gonna run and leave Sydney again? The chemistry between these two was off the charts. It was nice to see that Sydney could loosen up and let her hair down with Jake.
I can not wait for more!!

Sydney and Jake we’re friends for years but they had gotten close and One night Jake just up and left. Now ten years have passed a Jake is back and he wants a relationship with Sydney and her daughter Haylee, but there are a lot of secrets Jake has not shared with Sydney.
Sydney is terrified of getting involved with Jake again because if he left again what was left of her heart would crumble so she won’t see him till he tells her why he left but that secret could stop them before they start. The love they have always felt for each other might be able to save their relationship or make them enemies.
I requested this book from the author at no expense to me and I have chosen to review it

(Reviewed by Cathy Stansell from Rochelle's Reviews)

I dearly love the LakeShore series by Shannyn Leah. The characters are realistic and loveable, and I am never disappointed. Lakeshore Love was fantastic!

This is the story of Sydney and Jake. It’s about a rekindled love from ten years in the making. Sydney was 16 when she fell in love with Jake, only he left for no explained reason. Years later when he suddenly returns those feelings for him come flooding back. Does he feel the same way? Will they be able to get past all of the secrets and make another go of it?

Jake is a handsome mysterious man. He cares for Sydney but he is burdened by many secrets that haunt him daily. When one of those secrets follows him home it makes him want to run. Will he leave town forever again, or will he stay and work things out with Sydney?

Sydney is a sweet woman who is driven wild by Jake and she will not admit it. She wants to start a relationship with him but is afraid that he will leave and hurt her again. They were just attempting to be friends until one night, Sydney gets drunk and wakes up naked. What happened? She can't remember and it remains a mystery.

Ms. Leah is a genius with coming up with characters that you will fall in love with. Lakeshore Love has steamy parts you will love, a loving and meddling family, as well as fear and uncertainty. This is an emotional read with tender segments that will make your heart cry, but has the HEA which I always have a hankering for. I am anxious to see what she has in store for us on the next book.

The 3rd Book in this series and though each can be read as a standalone with no cliffhanger ending, you do learn about the different people within the community that are linked in other books so may be best to read in order.

In saying that, this story is a very complex, intriguing plot but I didn't feel the love as I have for the others. I do however think that this is down to the story being the most "resolved". When finished I didn't want to know more like I did with all other books.

Again great characters & great storylines. Jake is wonderful, strong, protective and intensely loving. Sydney could do with a shake up and let herself loose a bit more and her journey as the middle sister is one that would resonate. Haylee and Joan are great side characters too.

Another great story

This story takes us into the lives of Sydney and Jake.

When Jake left, Sydney was heartbroken, at 16 she has fallen in love with a man who simply left her.

When he comes back into town they rekindle their friendship and for years they never speak of the reason he left in the first place.

After a drunken night, Sydney confesses her love for Jake and believes they slept together as she woke up the next morning completely naked. She doesn't remember actually what she said or what she did, but Jake does and he loves her just as much. But his past has dark secrets that he fears may interfere with their lives so he stays mute on the subject.

Awkwardly, they rekindle their friendship and try to hold back their desires for each other. But can they just be friends? Will it be enough for them?

So I am a big softie at heart and yes this one got to me too. So far I am thoroughly enjoying this series and the special characters that bring it to life. In this case this special couple has been dragging this connection for years, so long that when obstacles continuously occur it becomes laughable until it isn't. It's finally time for them to put their fears and past behind them. All they have to do is wade through all the lies, secrets, and smoke screens.

I really am loving this series and the ability of the author to draw out different characteristics in each sister and the men that love them.

Ms. Leah writes romance the likes of Jane Austen! Each of her stories is rich in character development , wit and sassy personalities and love that captures your imagination! Jake and Sydney are friends before lovers with secrets that each is afraid to share, issues with trust, and a fear of loss that impacts their choices! The angst of their emotions is literally (or literarily) palpable! You will laugh out loud, scream with excitable frenzy and groan in despair with the challenges that they and their family face. I can tell you that once started it is almost impossible to set this book down because you have to know what the next page holds! Amazing and heartfelt..love this series!!

The McAdams sisters are back again with this second chance romance story centering around Sydney, her 13 year old daughter Haylee, and the man Sydney can't seem to get out of her system, Jake Stow. Fourteen years ago Sydney lost her heart to Jake, who suddenly disappeared for a year, cruelly breaking Sydney's trust and her heart. Since he's been back they have been friends because he's Haylee's uncle, but he refuses to discuss what happened and Sydney won't risk her heart, until she's positive he won't up and disappear again. The storyline is good (there are some missing words and typos) and both characters are eventually able to open a line of communication but it takes a long time to get there and that was frustrating for me. I know the author intended Jake's character to be dark and brooding but there were times when he just made me want to smack him because he was being so darned juvenile. There was one particular time I thought Jake and Sydney acted irresponsibly but I won't get into that because I don't want to give too much of the story away. This book has hints of comedy that I thought were perfect to offset the high drama of the subject matter including the huge plot reveals that seriously made my head hurt. A flashback chapter would have been much appreciated. Overall, I would give this book 3 & 3/4 stars. I read a complimentary copy of this book and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.

Once again Shannyn Leah has written a great second chance romance in the McAdams Sisters series. This time it's Sydney and Jake's story. Jake was Sydney's first love and she has never gotten over him or the fact that he left her behind 14 years ago. Even though he's been back in her life for years, she has been afraid to let him back into her heart. Instead she has simply kept him in the friend zone. But after years of holding back, a night of drinking led to Sydney confessing her feelings. But then Jake and Sydney each of their own secrets from the past that need to be revealed if they can ever have a future. This series just keeps getting better, I can't wait for Abby's story.

This is an excellent book. I enjoyed it thoroughly as I have the series up to this point and will be reading the next one. I have bought all the books in this series. Shannyn Leah is an excellent author.

The synopsis of the book starts out, "Jake Stow is a runner." But this is not true. In the beginning of the book you get the idea that he is a runner; but what you learn is that loves his family deeply. He loved his Mother and Sister and so he went after them to try and help them, to protect them. Sydney to Jake is family too. They have known each other since they were little. I get the idea that he didn't come back to Sydney when he first went after his Mom and Dad because of fear of putting her in danger.

Jake and Sydney have had their ups and downs in their relationship; but they have always loved one another. Even when they thought it was over or had no hope. They are just about to get their relationship together and move to the next level when Bam! Jake's Mother shows up with his sister's 3 children and he doesn't know if his sister is dead or alive.

Jake feels that he doesn't deserve Sydney and that she would be better with someone else. He tries to break them up for Sydney's own good, (he tells himself.) She sees through it and is badly hurt. But the love is too strong between the two of them.

Lakeshore Love by Shannyn Leah is simply fantastic! After reading several books by Shannyn Leah I just realized when reading this book that she plants a little surprise in every book. Sydney and Jake's story is no exception. Lakeshore Love is full of humor, drama and action. The characters Ms Leah has used in this book are phenomenal. Lakeshore Love gets a little steamy but doesn't burst into flames, suggestive but no graphic sex scenes. I enjoyed reading Lakeshore Love and look forward to reading more from Shannyn Leah in the future. Lakeshore Love is book 3 in The McAdams Sisters Series also part of the By The Lake Series, but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

ARC given in exchange for an honest review

I really enjoyed this book. The author does it again with keep you hooked into the book. I felt some different emotions thru this book but it's part of the story. The chemistry is steamy between the two characters. You will read about a love that is so strong between two people that after 10 years it's still strong.

This is Sydney's story. You will get to know more about Sydney & Jake. Go on there journey with them and you will read about love, tragedy, secrets. It's a journey you don't want to miss out on. Things that you will read, you wouldn't expect.

Great job to the author on another amazing story. I highly recommend.

The series continues and the men keep getting hotter! "Jake" just become my favorite character. (Sorry Marc.) Sentimental without being wimpy, considerate without being cocky, all-around good guy with so many troubles and issues of his own. I liked that this story focused mainly on his problems and the process to get him to commit to a relationship. Add in that the girl wasn't clingy or vacuous and it was a well balanced story.

Loved the intensity of Sydney McAdams’ book.

THIS is the story I’d been waiting for. Sydney’s story in Lakeshore Love is the third stand-a-lone book in the McAdams Sisters series, set in the town of Willow Valley. It is not necessary to read each book, nor do you have read them in order to enjoy the story of each sibling as they discover love. There’s a lot going on, and it was great to find out how our characters from the first two books are doing in their new lives together.

She never left home like her sisters did. Pregnant at 16, she was lucky to have survived a car accident that claimed the lives of Kyle, her boyfriend, and his stepfather.

Since then, Sydney, her daughter Haylee and Kyle’s mum Joan, had formed a family of love by choice. Jake, Joan’s stepson had come home to find his father dead, and became the fourth member, having been there for his niece, and partnering Joan in the family bar for the last 11 years or so.

Jake was there before Sydney was pregnant, and then he disappeared to live with his mother and sister. Returning a year later with nothing by secrets he’s kept from her and Joan, he’d love to be more than a friend to Sydney and her daughter, whom he loves as much as any parent could. On her part, Sydney has secrets of her own, and while neither will share, neither can move forward in life that could perhaps be better spent together.

This has to be the story that has affected me the most so far. I actually can’t say why without the fear of giving away too much, but, I was absolutely and completely gutted!!! Heartbroken, torn in two even.

The consequences that selfish family members can inflict on the love of your life, can make any attempt at a relationship almost impossible if your man gives them no boundaries. But at the end of the day, when the sh!t hits the fan, and the man you love anyway, asks you to trust him, that is what you will do...

This was definitely the most intense story about the sisters that I’ve read yet. Definitely 5 stars for all the best reasons in this book!

Lakeshore Love is a nice continuation of the series with Sydney and Jake's story at the forefront along with his sister, mom and her daughter, Haylee, who is wise beyond her years. There are a lot of twists and turns to the story some causing sorrow, anger and angst and others full of happiness and joy. There's a mystery or two that also need resolution. We are reunited with Sydney's sisters and dad along with their spouses and it was great to find out what happened since we met up with them in Lakeshore Legend, book two in the series.

The characters are well developed and Sydney and Jake learn how to communicate which helps end some of their problems. But are they being totally honest with each other and themselves when they finally do talk because they never seem to be on the same page at the same time. They each have their secrets but aren't forthcoming in letting the other know why they act the way they do and also what happened so many years ago that caused Jake to disappear from her bed, literally, and be gone for a year? They are just friends or so they keep telling themselves but what are they really?

There are some steamy moments and there is a nice flow to the story as well as a happily-ever-after with a potential for more. There is nice closure but it left me wanting more so I'm glad that the series continues. There were excerpts from the first two chapters in the next book in the series, Lakeshore Candy, that whet my appetite for more.

Leah is a new to me author only having read the first three books in this series. I look forward to reading many more of her books.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest opinion.

Sydney McAdams was pregnant at 16 and had a daughter named Haylee. Her daughter's father and grandfather died in a car accident before she was born. Sydney had her sister's and Joan, Haylee's grandmother to help her. Joan and her step son Jake Stow owned a restaurant and bar in their small town. Sydney has been in love with Jake since she was a teenager. He left town when she was 16 to find his mother and sister to help them out of the drug life they were in. Unfortunately he didn't tell Sydney he was leaving and never bothered to call her. He came back to town when his father was killed in the car accident. Sydney worked at the restaurant with Jake and they were best friends now. Sydney had stopped working with Jake when her and her sister's opened their soap shop. Jake's life was messed up because of his family and he didn't think he was good enough for Sydney. Besides it seemed like every time he and Sydney were getting somewhere romantically, they were interrupted.

This is such a great series and I love all the books. It's great to catch up with the characters from the past books. There were so many secrets that Jake had kept from Sydney and secrets she kept. But the love the two had for each other was plain to see. I loved it when Sydney finally opened up and let her sexy side come out. Her daughter Haylee was smart and nothing got past her. I enjoyed how we learned about Jake and Sydney's past. The ending was exciting and how all the secrets came out. I strongly encourage you to read the book. I was given this book and voluntarily read the book and wrote a review.
