Tina's Yoga Studio

Rate this book
Everyone in Larkin Bay thinks Tina has it all.
She’d happily give some of it back.

Tina Anderson built her online community one trend at a time. From fitness challenges to cosmetic tweaks, she tried every "glow-up" the internet could dream up, always hoping one would make her feel like she was truly enough. Now she’s finally ready to stop reinventing herself and step back from the influencer persona that helped build her studio.

She’s done trying to be perfect.

She just can’t afford to stop.

Zach McRae knows all about starting over. Once an awkward nerd, he's now confident, successful, and raising his beloved daughter on his own. But he's never forgiven or forgotten the girl who didn’t show up the night his world fell apart.
Now a sponsorship deal has brought them back together. But she isn't the shy, insecure girl he remembers, and no one in Larkin Bay would ever believe she’d hurt him on purpose.

Except Zach.

As misunderstandings resurface and sparks fly, Tina and Zach must confront the truth about their past and decide if what's growing between them is just business or a second chance worth risking everything for.

Because sometimes the hardest part of starting over is letting go of the past—and the person you thought you were.

Tina's Yoga Studio is a sweet story, focusing strongly on mental health, angst and social media influencers.

Tina is a social media health influencer and yoga studio owner. She signs a contract with Zach's company to promote his meal-replacement shakes. It turns out that she and Zach knew each other in school, although Tina barely remembers Zach and doesn't seem to remember much that time in her life at all, apart from how uncomfortable she was in her own skin.

Zach, on the other hand, definitely remembers Tina. In fact, he semi-blames her for standing him up on a date while they were at school - a date he was brought to by his dad, who was then killed by a drunk driver while returning home. He is hesitant about partnering with Tina at first, but slowly lets down his guard. He's a single father to a teenage daughter and is trying to navigate social media and teenage angst.

This story moved more slowly than I expected it to. The build-up is very gradual and at times I didn't feel like I was reading a romance... I was missing the spark between Zach and Tina a little. Spice-wise, the story is limited to a few on-page kisses. The whole book is written from third-person POV, alternating between Zach and Tina.

I found it odd that Tina hardly remembered Zach at all from her school days, especially since they were apparently lab partners. This is put down to her obsession with herself and lack of self-confidence, but she seemed to have so much trouble remembering Zach and doubted what he was telling her so strongly and often, that I started wondering whether a twist was coming up in which he turned out to have been thinking of someone else.

The book has a strong mental health, social media rep, which is excellent. It explores the up and down-sides of the influencing life and its effect on teenagers at length and accurately. The author's descriptions of teenage angst, the difficulties that parents face, and her focus on the many other aspects of (particularly) Tina's life, such as her issues adopting a dog, were interesting.

In the end, this is a sweet story which just wasn't my personal cup of tea, but likely will be someone else's. If you enjoy small-town, light romances which also explore the MC's lives outside of their (potential) relationship and have a strong mental health rep then this could well be the book for you!

Thanks to Leanne Stanfield and Hayling Bookstorm for the ARC.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ ARC Review: Tina's Yoga Studio (A Larkin Bay Romance) by Leanne Stanfield

Tina's Yoga Studio follows Tina Anderson, a successful social media influencer whose life appears picture-perfect from the outside. While many would say she has everything she could want, Tina can't shake the feeling that something is missing. Determined to reinvent herself and discover what truly matters, she embarks on a new chapter of self-discovery.

Years earlier, Zach McRae was the shy, nerdy high school student who secretly fell hard for Tina. After finally gathering the courage to ask her on a date, he was left waiting at the restaurant when Tina never showed. That same day, tragedy struck when Zach learned his father had been involved in a fatal car accident after dropping him off. Without answers and overwhelmed by heartbreak, Zach eventually moved away, never discovering why Tina failed to appear.

Fast forward several years, and Zach is now a successful businessman. When his company approaches Tina about a new sponsorship opportunity, the two are unexpectedly reunited. Old feelings quickly resurface, but so do old wounds.

What I enjoyed most about this story was how Leanne Stanfield incorporated real-life struggles that many women and teenage girls face. The book explores the pressures of social media, the constant feeling of being judged, and the challenge of defining your worth beyond what others see online. These themes added depth to an otherwise sweet and heartfelt romance.

The chemistry between Tina and Zach was enjoyable, and I found myself rooting for them as they worked through misunderstandings and emotional baggage from the past. Their journey highlights the importance of communication, forgiveness, and giving people the chance to explain their side of the story.

Overall, this was a charming second-chance romance with relatable characters, emotional moments, and a satisfying blend of personal growth and romance. I had a great time reading this story and look forward to exploring more romances from the Larkin Bay series.

Thank you to Hayling Bookstorm LTD and Leanne Stanfield for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Larkin Bay: Zach & Tina

⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was a little more angsty than I expected, but I really enjoyed the small-town feel and the characters that made up this story.

Tina was such a sweetheart. Despite how well things seemed to be going in her life, it felt like everything was simultaneously coming together and falling apart around her! I loved seeing her struggle with the expectations she'd placed on herself and her journey towards figuring out who she really wanted to be, rather than who she thought everyone else wanted her to be.

Now, Zach… I had a harder time with him. I could absolutely understand how teenage heartbreak, especially when tangled up with such a devastating tragedy, could leave lasting scars. His feelings were understandable, and the hurt he'd carried for so long made sense. However, his wishy-washy behaviour had me endlessly frustrated at times! I wanted to shake him and tell him to make up his mind already!

I absolutely loved his daughter, and the small-community atmosphere of Larkin Bay was a real highlight. There was a fantastic group of secondary characters who added so much to the story, and I enjoyed how their connections helped bring everything together.

The storyline itself was interesting, with past misunderstandings, old wounds, and the challenge of learning to trust again. It was lovely seeing the characters navigate the difference between who they used to be and who they had become.

Overall, an enjoyable second-chance romance with a little more emotional angst than I anticipated, a lovely small-town setting, and a great cast of characters.

This is a town Second Chance romance with forced proximity. Tina owns her own yoga studio and she's a social media influencer and Zach is the owner of the company that she is working with to promote a product. I think this is a cute interesting Romance. Zack and Tina went to high school together but she doesn't seem to remember him. But he remembers her. And there's some details in their house that they have to work out. Tina is a sweet and thoughtful. She's a very likable character. I like that the story includes Mental Health, self-love, and accountability. This also shows the ups and downs of what it is like to be a social media influencer. Which is pretty cool and relatable. I thought the characters were interesting and relatable. If you like small town romances and forced proximity you should give this story a try.

Tysm Leanne & Hayling Bookstorm for the ARC copy!

Tina’s Yoga Studio is a relatable novel based on present day things, like social media influencing and the struggles of self-esteem and miscommunication. It definitely gave me Hallmark movie vibes!

🪷Small-town romance
🪷Fitness instructor
🪷Social media influencer
🪷Miscommunication
🪷Single Dad

TYS focuses a lot on mental health topics and the struggles that many of us have in high-school that more times then not also follow us into adulthood. I loved the growth that Tina had while also supporting Zach’s daughter as she struggles with similar self-esteem issues and mean girls.

All in all, it’s a very sweet read with relatable topics and a couple of plot twists. TYS is available now!

This was such a sweet lovestory🩷

Tina is an influencer, a tired influencer and she wants to step back, but needs money to do so. A sponsorship-deal brings her to Zach, and he remembers a different version of Tina, before she had her “glow-up”.

A red string in the story is mental health, and how social media, and others opinions can influence us in every stage of life.

Yes, there is angst, but we get our HEA🩷

I haven't read the previous books in the series about Larkin Bay, but I didn't feel that I missed out on something, maybe i’ll read the other ones, when i’m in need of a small-town-romance☺️

Thank you Leanne Stanfield for the ARC!

Small town romance where they knew each other in high school and reconnected as adults. Very pro-self love and healthy choice driven with a huge emphasis on accountability and respect for others.

The story was engaging and equal parts love tension and anger\hurt tension.

Tina is an influencer and has goals for her life, she thought she was on track to meeting those goals until she met Zach. She learned who she thought she was and who she wanted to be was not what she actually wanted out of life.

The ending brought tears of joy to my eyes. Very well written and held my attention throughout.

This was a cozy little read. The characters had depth and the story line was good. A couple little twists I didn't see coming too. I found myself thinking about Hallmark Christmas movies while reading it, though this wasn't as cheesy as those. My only hesitation with giving it more stars was the repetitiveness of "Larkin Bay Wellness" throughout the whole book like we would forget what her company was named was a mouth full. Could have abbreviated it to LBW or something similar. Overall, if you like cozy romance's without the spicy scenes, this is the book for you.

This was such a sweet and cozy romance. I loved Tina and Zach. Both had moved forward in life. Tina had a great yoga studio that she worked hard to establish. And Zach was now a single dad. When these two encounter each other again, things between them start to mend. I loved seeing the thought process as teens as opposed to their adult lives. To see them be able to come together again was really great. I enjoyed this one a lot.

I wanted to love this book so much. Unfortunately I had to force myself to read it. It felt like Zach went from having a crush on Tina and not knowing how to deal with those feelings, to him making out with her. I didn’t ‘feel the spark’ between them.

I received this book as an ARC and am leaving an honest review.

Tina is an influencer that has never thought she was enough. Zach would like Tina to be the face of his brand. When they first meet again, Tina does not recognize him as the nerd from high school. Really good storyline with likable characters, which is always good when reading a new book. Loved when Tina gave Jessica advice and how well they bonded. A great way to spend a lazy afternoon.

This was a great little love story with some awesome lessons about teen perceptions, personal image, and the effects of social media on all ages. While Tina’s life may feel like it is falling apart it can come out even better than imaged if she just realizes what she wants.
