Love Reflection.

This was a truly lovely story to read. It made a nice change from my psychological thrillers I have been reading lately. I'm a bit of an 'all rounder' when it comes to choices of books to read, so when I saw this for a blog tour I offered to review it and promote it which I do when time permits. This is the reason why I like book tours, I get to read books that would have passed me by or I would have missed.

I would like to thank Francessca
www.francesscas-romance-reviews.com for the chance of my involvement in promoting this lovely debut novel by Maria Macdonald.

I hope this authors reviews flood in soon as in my humble opinion, this being based on her debut novel, her VERY first book [the book 1 of a series] its a pretty darn good read.

We have Pearson, known as Pea by her friends. She and Con knew each other from young children as did Saul and the rest of the gang, Sophie being her best friend.

As in most relationships, things go wrong at times and sometimes HUGE ENORMOUS misunderstandings that can lead to break-ups.

I really have to tell you that this story brought tears to my eyes on more than one occasion. Pearson has so many things that she is hiding. She has told Saul, he knows, but not even her best buddy Sophie has been told what dark clouds are hanging over Pea. She's broken. I would be too after what has happened to her, not just once but twice.

The unexpected surprises that come at the end were not expected at all, but a great ending to this.

I must say, ITS NOT A CLIFF HANGER so its Ok to read and wait for the next book. For those that are not a fan of cliff hangers I thought I would mention it :)

I felt the book was easy to read, fast flowing and really easy to get into.

I will be looking out for the follow up to LOVE REFLECTION

***** 5 Cranky Stars *****

This book had me stunned silent the moment I opened my kindle. For a debut novel, Maria Macdonald blew me away with her deep, insightful characters, captivated me with her writing, and held my attention as I screamed, cried, gasped and laughed along side my kindle. This book is definitely one that needs to be read and re-read over again!

Pearson, or Pea to her extremely tight group of friends- Soph, Con and Saul, is such a beautiful but intense character. She hasn't had an easy transition into adulthood. Early on she's known a gut wrenching loss and heartache. She's had to overcome struggle and strife time and time again.

But just as you think she's about to succumb to her grief, and the secrets she keeps, a light at the end of the tunnel comes along and makes her feel alive again.

Con loves Pea. Always has, always will. But there comes a time in your life when sometimes it's time to break things off when you're the only one giving your all. Having to leave the country, he sees it as an opportunity to put some space between him and Pea and cuts off contact. But his plan backfires because Pea is all he can think about day in and day out. After one in their group is attacked, he's more adamant then ever to get home to Pea and prove that they are a forever kind of love. But coming home isn't as easy as 1,2,3.

With an interesting cast of characters, this book is exciting, refreshing, and the vast array of twists and turns as secrets and truths are revealed is astonishing. This book will keep your attention, have you gripping your seat as the story unfolds, and have you quickly one-clicking the next installment of this amazing series.

I’m a bit of a latecomer to this series following a recommendation from a friend but as they say better late than never! I’m still reeling from the emotional rollercoaster of a ride that this story took me on.

It’s obvious from the opening line of Chapter One that Pea is struggling to deal with some heavy issues. Following her break-up with Con on the cusp of adulthood, and then losing her Gran, who she believes is the last member of her immediate family, Pea struggles to not fall into a pit of despair. Add the weight of guilt she carries because of secrets held, and you have a woman who is deeply torn. I just wanted to hug her and tell her everything would be okay. That it would all work out and things weren’t as bad as she thought. I could totally relate when she said:

“I’m a natural over-thinker, I always have been.”

Pea and Con have a complicated relationship. Neither one is able to move on from the other as their lives are so entwined. Best friends since early childhood, they are one half of their set of friends with Saul and Soph completing the group.

Con wants nothing more than to get back with Pea but fearing it will never happen, he moves away when a job opportunity arises. Yet they are never far from each other’s thoughts and slowly feelings are brought to the fore once more as they open up to one another through a series of text messages:

“You’re my home too, Con, I want you to come home to me.”

After Soph is attacked, Con is determined to make Pea his once again. But will it be that simple? She has a new man in her life, but what is Dane’s connection? Once Pea’s long held secrets are revealed, will Con still feel the same way about her?

With so many twists and turns in this book I felt as if my heart was permanently in my mouth. Trust me; you’ll never guess half of what is revealed but one thing is certain: these two are destined for one another. Con sums it up perfectly for me:

“My soul will recognise hers forever.”

What an amazing debut novel!

This is a beautiful and gripping story about four friends Pea, Con, Sophie and Saul who grow up together through all good and bad. Their bond is so strong and loving.
The main characters of the story are Pea and Con.
This was a loving story and as a debut novel, the author has done a wonderful job in portraying the emotions of friendship, love, loyalty and secrets.
I pretty much liked the story overall. Can't wait to read the next book in this series.

One of the best parts of reading is finding a new author whose writing you just get, it's like finding gold ! I was lucky enough to be one of the first people to read this book by this exciting new author!
Pearson ( Pea) has loved Connor almost all her life and at points through her life they have been in a relationship but during those times fate was not on their side. Pea now finds herself without the family she loved and the love of her life. Enter Dane ( he is one sexy mother f**ker) he helps Pea out of her funk and encourages her to start enjoying life once more. Pea feels a strong connection to Dane but is unable to put her finger on what it is and Dane harbours a sercet that could blow their friendship apart.
Pea is also keeping secrets from Connor, sercets so bad that she fears he will never be able to love her again !
This is a book of sercets and love, how they bind people and can potentionly break them and how they react to them. Intinally the story centres around Pea and Connor but we get insights into the life's of the others in the group which gives a depth to the story. There are many twists to the story keeping the reader on the edge of their seats, I'd like to say I guessed some but I'd be lying !!!!!
One of the things I like in a book is a good amount of banter between characters and this book has it in spades the conversations in this book had me laughing out loud ! There's a mixture of warmth, love and laughter in this debut novel making me eager to read more from Maria Macdoanald

This was a genuinely great story based on secrets, sadness, loyalty, love, heartbreak. Although this was mainly Pea's story, there is more than one main character. Pearson, Con, Saul, and Sophie are the epitome of what friends should be. They are all best friends, but even more so, family. Maria did a great job incorporating them all into the story, without overloading us with too much at once. You will fall in love with each one. The way Pearson suffers in the beginning of the story leaves you with a sadness hanging over your head. Her secrets unfolding page by page. She meets someone and he completely brings her back to life. She decides to be a better friend and to fight for love, after wasting ten, long years. She also gets a nice surprise towards the end. Each friend has suffered from some kind of loss, but they have each other and it's a beautiful thing! There was only a handful of sex scenes in this story and the funny thing about it is, I didn't mind a bit. The story itself is was captivated me from the beginning. She deserves every star.

This is the first book I have read of Maria's, but it will not be the last!! This book will make you, laugh, cry, and jump for joy, among other emotions. Con, Saul, Pea, and Soph are a wonderful group of friends that anyone would be honored to be able to call friend. While reading this book, I was left trying to guess what twist was going to come up next. I love a book that isn't predictable from start to finish. Maria has written a story that I can honestly say is not predictable, which kept me engrossed the whole time. Pea and Soph are best friends, while Con and Saul are best friends. Pea and Con are the only two to really have a good home life growing up. You will love reading about the scenes where some bimbo is trying to pick up Con or Saul. The guys are so protective of the girls too. This is stuff that happens in real life, not just a book!! I loved how Maria worked Dane into the story. Ladies you will love him too. I highly recommend this book to everyone. If you want to know what secrets were kept, then I suggest reading this book to find out.

Well what can I say about Love Reflection?...
Oh I know!... It's AMAZING!
From the very beginning the author Maria Macdonald traps you in wanting to know more but wanting to read it slowly just so you can savor it.
this book makes you laugh one minute then cry the next to then having OMG moments.
I LOVE the characters in this book, I can't say that anyone annoyed me and for me that's usually hard for me to say as normally one or more of the characters in a book annoy me to a point where I want to throw my kindle.
I felt every single emotion these characters felt and I'm glad because it made me feel more connected to them and the book itself.
Overall a MASSIVE 5 stars from me.
My only wish is that I hadn't read it so I could read it for the first time again.
Can't wait for the next novel of the series because I know it's going to be as awesome as this one!

description

Love, love, love, love, love!

It’s a new author. It’s their first book. I hesitatingly open/swipe to that first page, almost afraid of what I will find. In the back of my mind I always think of the work – the blood, sweat and tears – that go into the incredible achievement of publishing a story. What if it doesn’t strike a chord? What if I don’t connect with the characters? What if I just can’t explain it but I just don’t like it at all? Well, any thoughts like that were quickly, quickly laid to rest as I dove into this debut novel by Maria Macdonald.

Pearson Amberry has pulled away from almost everyone in her life. Unexplained tragedies has caused her to distance herself from most of her friends as she looks around and realizes her best friends are the only ones who have stuck by her. She can always count on the three closest people to her in the world but even they are going to lose patience with her eventually. She knows that. She just doesn’t seem to be able to do anything about it as her past refuses to let her go. Connor McKenna, her one true love once upon a time, remains a friend but even that is straining under the pressure of festering secrets. Soph, her childhood best friend, is always on her side ready to kick her and hug her as needed. Saul, the last of their tight quartet, understands her better than she knows herself. Dane, a newcomer in her life, strikes a chord instantly and provides a new perspective that sees Pearson trying to mend fences and reconciling the past. As the story unfolds, the past is slowly revealed and the relationships between all of them are tested to the breaking point. When all is said and done will she and Connor find that elusive happy ever after? Will they all still call each other friend?

The story started a bit slow but after the first chapter or so I knew this was going to be a “one sitting” read. Switching points of view between Pea and Con, the characters became so real to me that I couldn’t wait to read the next page, the next chapter quickly enough. What would be revealed next? Pea, at first, seemed to be fragile, requiring the cossetting that her friends were providing her. That first impression changed quickly as event after event showed how strong she actually was. The interaction between her and her friends was filled with emotion and love, even when they were at odds with each other. They were friends first but family by choice; and all the more precious for it. I felt the connection between them all, the author building their bonds effortlessly but so effectively by sharing the highs and the lows from their shared past. This book had me weeping and smiling with a feeling, at the end, of meeting new, lasting friends. While I don’t think I know near enough about Saul, Dean and Soph I do know I cannot wait for their stories. An incredible debut novel!

What's it all about

Pearson and Con, getting over their past's, circumnavigating the present in the hope of a joint future.

What I thought

I'm always nervous about trying a new author. I needn't have been with Maria Macdonald. She drew me in Characters who were normal, and my goodness it was refreshing to see normal! and the Glossary at the beginning..... PMSL!

"Wind my neck in. - To get on with it, get over yourself or sort yourself out."

The story is set in the present with flashbacks, its a strange mix but it worked. Its basically the story of Pearson and Con, two people, who just belong together. But shit just keeps on getting in the way.

"I know I've cut you off recently, so I understand why you might've just texted me and then switched your phone off. Please know I haven't ignored you because I don't care. I've given myself some space because I care too damn much. I need to get my head straight and when I'm around you everything... it's all about you, Pea. You're killing me"

With them on their Journey are their lifelong best friends Sophie and Saul, they both play in important role in the book and the four of them are a great unit. Until in walks Dane!!! He is everything a heartbroken girl trying to move on with her life could want in a man, but he is REALLY not what she expected. Dane has a secret of his own (And its a goodun)

Some seriously sad stuff happened to Pea, and Con never knew, she never told him. Part of Pea's Journey is revealing herself to those around her and in turn, being honest with Con. The whole revelation scene and the aftermath is both devastating and lifting. My eyes did leak a little bit!

"I want to look into your eyes every day and see the love I feel for you reflected back at me, I want to know that i'm everything you will ever want... ever need"

Soph kind of annoyed me in most of the book, but by the end I was a million percent behind her! She's so much more than I originally thought. Con is just bloody lovely, and the secondary males Dane and Saul I adored as well. I was torn between who I liked more, but having had time to think about it this reviewer is firmly on #TEAMSAUL

So long and short of it, I took a chance, it was worth it. I loved this story and am very much looking forward to the the next book in the series.

I won an ebook copy of this book from a blogger. It was already on my tbr list so I knew it had to be my next read.

This book gripped me from even before the first page. There's a glossary of English terms at the beginning which I loved because I recognised many that I use myself.

When the book opens we meet Pearson and it's clear that she's hurting from something that happened in the past. She has an invaluable group of friends in her life Saul, Con and Sophie. They've been best friends since they were kids. They are so close they consider each other family really. I love books with different POV and while this is Pea's story we also get some glimpses into how Con feels about things between himself and Pea.

There's familial relationships, friends to lovers and the kind of unflinching best friend dynamic that can only be achieved from having known each other for years, in this book. The friendship between the four friends and particularly Pea and Soph was palpable and reminded me a lot of the relationship I have with my best friend. Pea doesn't let people into her life easily but when Dane, a friend of Sophie's introduces himself at a party, she surprises herself by how comfortable she feels around him.

This book made me gasp out loud on more than one occasion and not to mention ugly cry during the whole epilogue. But don't worry these characters get their HEA. That's what made me cry! Pea, Con, Saul and Soph are as emotionally close in their 20's as they were as kids if not as physically close. I had all sorts of different inklings about the reason they were seperated and when it was revealed a lot of things made sense. I did not see the turn of events coming that made me gasp out loud. At all. Talk about a plot twist. I loved it!

The supporting characters in this book were easily some of my favourite. I particularly loved Pea's Gran. She had some of the most wonderful advice. The “Sometimes helping someone silently makes the loudest statement in their head and the biggest difference in their heart.” being one of my favourites.

I love a good book playlist too and not only are songs mentioned in this book but Maria lists them all at the end too! This book ticked a lot of boxes for me. I'm looking forward to reading the second stand alone book in the Entwined Hearts Series.

5 stars for this debut novel!

This is a series but I do not see any reason why you could not read this book as a standalone at all. This story does have a HEA to it. This is the first book of three that are out now. I felt that the first part of the book was a little bit slow and it took me a bit to get into the book. Once it picked up though, I could not put the book down. This book goes back and forth between Pea’s view and then Con’s view. The author does good job of making sure all questions and concerns are answered. I feel that parts of the book were a little drug out.

It was a long road for Pea and Con. They have known each other since grade school. Been friends and then a couple since they were 5 years old. They stay the ultimate couple until one night changes all of that. Pea closes in on herself and shuts everyone out. She keeps major secrets that she feels she cannot share with anyone. Her life has one tragic thing after another happen to her. The only family that she has is her friends.

Then a new guy comes into her life and changes it more than she ever thought possible. She finds it so easy to open up to him and tell him all of the things that she has been keeping inside. Once she opens up to him it is like a waterfall effect and she knows that she also has to tell her friends/family all of the things that she has tried to deal with on her on. This includes Con.

Con has been overseas trying to move on with his life. To get a clean start away from Pea. He spends a lot of time at bars trying to drink Pea out of his system. This is not working. After Pea has to contact him to let him know one of their friends is attacked he finally decides she is still the one for him. He sets into motion everything he can to win her back. He knows about the new guy in her life but still has to give it his all.

When all the secrets Pea has kept buried and a few new ones from her new guy she is afraid that she will not still have all of her friends and Con in her life any more. She ends up having more family/friends that she ever thought she could have.

Favorite Quotes:

“It’s not because you’re not worth it, it’s because you’re worth everything.”

“If you want to take a bit of advice that’s actually worth a damn from an old lady, it is don’t ever let anyone break you… not even you. Don’t ever let someone else speak for you or make your decisions, and if you ever give your heart away, then you must make sure they are worthy of such a gift.”

“You have to feel the same about each other. Otherwise you’re just listening to the concert from the bathroom, and then how would you ever know if your tickets were worth it.”

“I’ll always be proud of you. You’re everything that made my life special.”

My Review:

For most of the first 40% of this book, I was conflicted and frustrated with the main female character – Pea, although the writing was also squeezing my heart at the same time. Pea kept getting in her own way, lived in denial and avoidance, and caused unnecessary grief to herself and her circle of friends. I wanted to pull her hair. She was annoying, whiney, self-absorbed, overly-dramatic, shut off, and frequently in her own head or what the Brits delightfully call, “away with the fairies.” She twisted and over-personalized, dwelt on the negative, and put no effort into her relationships. Yet she made me anxious and on edge to know the reasons behind her withdrawal, to know the traumatic events she hinted at along the way. I hoped this wasn’t her personality and wondered if she was clinically depressed, aha – she was. As she scrolled through her memories like a movie reel, the story played out in snippets that tantalized and baited me - like a siren calling the sailors to the rocks. The story was compelling, angsty, melodramatic, and once I no longer found Pea to be so obnoxious – it was hard to put my kindle down. Now I am more than a bit curious to see what Ms. Macdonald does with Sophie in book #2 - Love Resisted.

This is without a doubt one of the most brilliant debuts I have read. Maria Macdonald has written this beautiful novel which from the very first page takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions.
Pea (Pearson) is such a sweet, funny, sassy character. Her love for Conner has been set in stone pretty much her entire life. And even though they had a relationship, it just didn't work *SOB SOB SOB*. Pea also keeps some SERIOUS secrets from Conner that could potentially break the friendship they have made work. She moves on and starts a relationship with the sinfully hot Dane, but is he enough for her?
Conner......HO-LEE-SHIZ!!!! I haven't seen it called yet, so hell if I won't do it before everyone else! DIBS DIBS DIBS!!! Yup! Snooze you Lose!!
The friendships in this book are so real, relatable and so brilliantly written.
This book is full of laugh out loud moments, suspense, angst, heartfelt emotions, warm fuzzy feelings and just about every feeling you can encounter. Maria writes with a beautiful and charming style that makes this book completely UN-PUT-DOWNABLE!

I was given Love Reflection (Entwined Hearts Series Book 1) by Maria Macdonald for an honest review. This is the first book I have read by this author and she had me intrigued from the beginning of this book how could this one person Pea feel like she had caused her whole group of friends to break apart. As I read this book I felt sorry for Pea as she takes the blame for all the bad things that happen in her life and that of her friends. It was great to read about her journey back to the person she use to be before so much tragedy hit her life. Then you have Con who has done nothing but love Pea her whole life but they continue to hurt each other. You have to read and see if they can overcome their past and make a future together or just give up on it. As you read this book you also me Sophie and Saul who are the other two people who make up this group/family. It is truly great how they all stick up for each other and try to help even when they have their own issues going on. This book is 5 stars for me I’m getting ready to read the next.

Maria Macdonald's Novel Love Reflection is an outstanding debut.
These characters are developed so well, you can't help but fall in love with each one. She takes you on a journey through their heartbreaking lives to the point you feel like these beautiful characters are real. I wanted to know them, I wanted to cry with Pea (the female lead) I wanted to hold her hand and tell her it was going to be ok!
You have to experience this richly detailed story for yourself, immerse yourself in it.
I was silently praying these brilliantly brought to life characters could find their way back together...back home.
Don't miss out on this amazing debut, don't miss out on the incredibly sexy men of this series! Connor is now one of my favorite book boyfriends...just saying...I'm totally hooked on the Entwined Hearts Series. This book is about first love, second chances, family, and the spectacular idea that no matter what, you're always home if your with the ones you love. Five Fantastic Stars

Loved this book, great debut by new author

Love Reflection is a story of friendships, very close friendships and how they transcend time. I loved this story, right from the get go. There are so many twists and turns, things I just didn't see coming and reasons why the heroine Parson is the way she is. Con, Pearson's on and off again boyfriend is gorgeous and I can see why they went through so many ups and downs, mostly caused by Pearson's attitudes, indifference and the tragic loss she endures.

Without giving the plot away, I will say that I really enjoyed this book. It had the right amount of everything for me. Maria Macdonald's debut book is a "must read" for all romantics out there who like a bit of spice as well.

Awesome book, I give this five bright golden stars.

I really enjoyed this novel by established author Maria Macdonald, and considering it was her debut it was an excellent read. Based around a group of four friends, Pearson, Sophie, Con and Saul, it's really Pearson's, or Pea as her friends call her, story. However it does have alternating POV's throughout with another of the main characters. Told in real time, with flashbacks that were easy to follow it had a good pace and I really wanted to get to know these four characters better. I loved the fact that there was British humour in it, and a couple of erotic scenes, but what I really took from it was the concept of true love and friendship. Very enjoyable, and I'm pleased to see that Macdonald has already written spin offs with the other characters that feature in this book.

This may be a debut novel from this author, but I never would of realised it was written so well.
The story sucked me in from the very first chapter.
A story of 4 friends that have been that way from a young age.
Pea and Con have loved each other forever. But secrets have kept them from being together.
With so much lose in Pea's life it leaves her guarded for her fear of getting hurt again.
Can Pea tell the truth and have a happy ever after with her one true love.
I can't wait for the next book.

For a debut novel, I'm in awe, it is not often that I can fall in love with a book and not want to read anything else in fear of losing the magical feeling that the book evokes in you.

Con is I'll be honest, an idiot. At some points I wanted to shake him! He didn't seem to have even a tad of common sense but the story warranted that and i did end up forgiving him!

'Pea' is the cutest name ever, I kept smiling!

I loved this book and I will be re reading at some point <3

*Gifted for an honest review* 4 Stars

Debut novel…and one to watch I think! This is a really great offering for a first novel. Easy to get lost in the plot and the characters, very well written and despite the back and forth with timelines, it’s remarkably easy to follow. I am not a huge fan of jumping to and fro but the fact it was written in the way of memories made this a lot easier for me to get on board with. You need those snippets of memory from Pea in order to understand her relationships. Especially with Con.
This story revolves around 4 people who are at a stage in their lives where the group has become splintered for various reasons. The relationship that Pea and Con had is all but gone but the yearning remains. This is a story of true love and family. The friendship bonds are fierce between the four of them. While Pea decides it’s time to move on, with Dane gently pushing and helping her, Con decides it’s time to get his woman back.
For me this book didn’t really come into its element until about 60%, but I understand perfectly why. Maria is getting the history out of the way, building the reader up for the climax. It was a slow read to that point but very enjoyable. Then bam….I’m at about 70 odd % and the story changes from a good read into something amazing. It’s full of sigh worthy moments and heartfelt emotion that you get so lost in the book it’s really difficult to put it down. Seriously, I inhaled the last 3rd of this book! I got that moment in a book where I had to set it down and literally pull myself together. When an author can do that to a reader it truly is magical. I don’t get that way often, rarely in fact, so I relished in it totally. I did see the twist that was Dane but I have to admit I didn’t see it until I was perhaps right on top of it. Again, that’s a good thing! Character development was lovely, and we got quite an in-depth peek into the musings of Pea. Cons POV’s are in there too but they don’t have half the effect that Peas does.
I felt so much of a connection with this story. I can always tell when I’m reading something “un-American” if you like. I love the British word as it’s written and as I’m UK it’s easier for me to understand and the writing flows I get the quirks and sarcasm easier. BUT, there are little scenes through this that I know I have done and again I found myself wallowing in them. Getting the warm and fuzzies, feeling like I’m right there in that moment. And Iris is one of my all-time fav songs so to see reference to it, well….And I absolutely loved the cover, it suited the novel perfectly.
I’m awarding this a 4, despite really connecting and enjoying this book for me it came mostly at the back end. I felt that the front end was its weakest unfortunately. Beautiful piece of work and I am looking forward to reading more from this author in the future. Sign me up! Congratulations Marie x

I found this to be a gripping story of four friends who stuck together through everything life had to throw at them. Pea, Con, Soph and Saul, grew up together with a load of memories that carried them through the darkest times. Between love, friendship, struggles, loss and disappointment, it was clear there was always someone from the group to stand up and be the leader, to carry them through the storm to the safe side of life.

Pea and Con are the two main characters whose story will take over at times. Pea is an introvert; she has always been the quiet one. Her mother died when she was young and her grandmother raised her. With her passing she finds the only family she has left are her three friends. She and Con had tried to take the friendship to the next level and things seemed to always derail the plans. Secrets, travels, misunderstandings prevented them from finding her happily ever after with the only man she has loved. She is haunted by a tragedy involving one of the gang and a box that she keeps ignoring in her house. When she meets Dane she thinks that maybe there might be something there, she feels comfortable with him and he works with Soph, but he is also holding secrets and how involved is he with Soph anyway.

Con has always felt protective of Pea, she took his heart. He is finally at the point that he accepts they need some space and he moves off to another country. He has no clue the secrets that she has kept, secrets that will shatter his heart and could be the thing that keeps them apart forever. He longs for the missing member of their foursome, but he also knows life goes on and it kills him to see Pea so shut off and living in a world of guilt.

Soph and Saul both play a huge part in this story, sometimes they are the voice of reason, other times they are the ones needing to be protected and loved for a change. They both came from families that didn’t appear similar to Con and Pea but they know what it is to be loyal, dedicated and loving in life.

I found this story draw me in at the first chapter, it made me feel like I was part of the group, sharing the joy and heartache as life hits them full force. Watching Pea slowly come out of her shell and face her fears that have kept her hostage in her life for years was inspiring. I was hard not to love Con as he never truly moved on without his Pea by his side. As we slowly found out about their skeletons that they each had guarded for years it was beautiful watching them finally become the adults they were always meant to become while still holding on to the bond that had carried them through life.

The thing I love most about blogging is finding a gem of a book and getting lost in it, you know, the sort of book that has you thinking constantly and turning the pages as fast as you can, the sort of books that keep you up until the early hours? From the first chapter of love reflection I knew I had hit blogging gold.

From the off we meet Pea and her 3 friends that have been together forever their relationship is endearing and the love they share is apparent. It's hard not to want to be part of the gang and the way Maria writes, drags you straight in so you feel like you're one of them.

We find out that Pea and Con have been in a relationship but fate was not on their side, they still share a close friendship but it's purely platonic, cue the perfect setting for a second chance romance. The problem is Pea has secrets she's hidden from Con that mean their path to true love is anything but easy. Throw into that the mystery shrouding Saul and then the arrival of Dane and the possibilities are endless.

I love the way the book is written, it jumps from past to present but in a way that is not confusing or at all awkward. When Pea interrupted the present with her flashbacks I got annoyed thinking I want to know what's happening now and then as soon as I started reading the flashback I didn't want to go back to the present! My brain was conflicted what I really wanted was to know what was happening all at once, infact I wanted to know what was happening so badly that I stayed awake until 2.30am (even though I had to be up for work at 7) just to finish the book! I read the first 5 chapters separately and then devoured the rest in one whole sitting. Maria wrote beautifully and I was gripped from chapter to chapter.

This was a great read, the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is that the ending for me was a bit much. I'd have liked a little room to move on in the next book with Pea and Con, having said that the way Maria left things with Soph means that book two is a must! I'm excited for future books from Maria because if she's capable of this with her debut she has bucket loads of promise for the next book and beyond.

Maria Macdonald's Novel Love Reflection( Entwined Hearts #1) is wonderful. Love Reflection is a story of friendships and love and raw emotion. This book is about first love, second chances, family, and the spectacular idea that no matter what, you're always home if your with the ones you love.
I LOVE the characters in this book their interactions as a group and separately are brillant. It will make you laugh one minute then cry the next to then having OMG moments.

Pearson ( Pea) has loved Conner (Con) almost all her life and at points through her life they have been in a relationship.
Conner and Pea have been friends since they were little. He is handsome and cocky but he has loved Pea his whole life.
Saul and Soph are the other characters in the book that round out the foursome.
Over the years there have been many secrets that kept them separated. Can they all found their way back to companionship and love they have had for each other through the years.
Dane is a new member of the friends and I could not figure him out. He pushed his way into Pea's life and he also had many secrets. I did love when his came out.

Con's face grew soft…. " Sorry Pea. I just don't want some a@@#*@&e taking advantage of you. It's not because you're not worth it, it's because you are worth everything."

"Most of the things , big and small, good and bad, that have happened in my life are connected with Con." - Pea

I'll be there for you always, I hope you know that. I'll see you tomorrow sunshine" - Dane <3

Connor, Saul and Dane are now some of my new favorite book boyfriends!

Fantastic debut for Maria McDonald. Cannot wait to read more in the Entwined Series. Have your tissues to dry your eyes for the laugh out loud parts and the emotional ones too.
