The Foundry Ghost: A DI Rowan Penhallow mystery

Moorland Shadows #14

by Wendy Cartmell

Two men, two eras, the same protect the business or protect the person.

Vosper's Foundry has stood derelict on the edge of Ashcombe Fenny since the 1950s, a blackened shell the town has learned to walk past without looking at. When Fenny Regeneration Partners begins converting it into luxury flats, the site's newest owner, Rupert Vosper, is found dead in the site office, killed with a foundry hammer taken from the heritage display he'd insisted on preserving.
Within days, workers clearing a bricked-up casting pit uncover a second decades old, male, skull fractured by a blow eerily similar to the one that killed Rupert.

DI Rowan Penhallow must solve two murders separated by 129 years, while DS Marcus Trewe discovers his own family was standing in that foundry yard the night Ezra Coake disappeared — and has never once talked about it.

About the author

I was a Primary School Teacher before leaving England to settle in Spain nearly five years ago. I previously worked in Sales, Marketing and Public Relations for large and small companies. I now write crime novels featuring Sgt Major Crane a detective in the Special Investigations Branch of the British Army, based on Aldershot Garrison. My inspiration for Sergeant Major Crane was my love of crime writing and my husband’s 22 years service in the British Army.

I attend a lively Writing Group who unashamedly meet at beautiful beach side cafes on the Costa del Sol.
