This it the story of lovers Donovan Lore and Talia Merchant.

Talia and Donovan came from completely different worlds. Talia being from a poor, single parent family, and Donovan coming from an elite rich family. Talia knows they are from different backgrounds, but that doesn't stop her from completely falling for Donovan, and giving him her virginity. She wakes up later that night all alone. Donovan has abandoned her in the night, without even a note to let her know where he has gone. He leaves her devastated, refusing to return her calls or see her ever again.

Fast forward 8 years, and Donovan walks into Talia's teenage counseling center looking for his nephew. They are both pretty stunned to run into each other again. This story takes off from there. Donovan seeking to hire Talia to help him with his troubled nephew, meanwhile vowing to reclaim the relationship with Talia that he threw away. He knows that Talia is the only woman he has ever loved, and he has to find a way to pay for his mistake. Donovan wants to make up for what he did to Talia in the past, and do everything he can to make it right with her again. Make her his again. This story had a little bit of everything in it. An awesome story line about the troubled and abused teenagers cast out on the streets with nobody to help them. Crazy evil mothers and hateful, skanky soon to be ex-wives. Oh, and lest I forget the phenomenal sex.

This author is brilliant at writing the hottest sex scenes. The drama in this story was minute, and nothing too over the top. I enjoyed every second of these two rekindling their relationship and falling head over heals again, where they should have always been to begin with.

Well she has done it yet again! Time after time Stacey leaves me speechless with her writing and Enflame is no exception!
Enflame, book three of the affair series, introduces you more into the world of Talia Merchant and the one person who has the ability to break through the safe and bubble wrap she has carefully placed her heart in after the devastating heart break she endured 8 years ago.
Running a teen shelter and trying to care for her father, while barely keeping her head above water with the financial struggles she is facing to keep the center open and to keep her father in the current home he is in, the last thing Talia is thinking about is that one true love of her life............until a man in a designer suit whose body just screams sex, enters her center looking for his nephew. Shock and anger is an understatement as to the feelings coursing their way through Talia the minute her eyes land on Donovan Lore!
What is it with Donovan that has Talia throwing caution to the wind and unwrapping that carefully protected heart of hers? Is there a history between them that can never be broken?
A steady pace of miracles, propositions, agreements and new relationships as well as heartbreak, fears and troubles are just a few of what Stacey has you experiencing through this story!
I couldn't put this book down even though I had a horrible migraine while reading it, LOL. I needed to find out if dreams were followed and if the strong independent woman finally got her man!
While this book is part of a series the other two do not need to be read in order to read Enflame, however I highly recommend that you do start with Entice.

I must say that when I read the blurb I knew I need to have this book and was so thankful when I was given a chance at an ARC. Needless to say, I devoured the book in one sitting and yes, that meant heading to work the next day with heavy eyelids, but It. Was. So. Worth. It!!

Donovan and Talia have history and not just any history. The kind of history where you've found The One!! Just like anything, Talia knew it was too good to be true. Little did she know though that it had nothing to do with her but with family responsibilities instead.

Now that Donovan has found Talia again after letting her go years ago, he'll be damned if he lets her go again... No, this time he's going to fight to keep her, show her what she has always meant to him and do whatever he needs to, to prove to her that he's not walking away EVER again!

I Floved their story because it shows that when you are meant to be, you are meant to be, no matter what or who tries to separate you. There is plenty of sexiness, dirty talking, emotion, passion and love in this book! Be ready to be get lost in Donovan and Talia's beautiful story! ~ Kara, 5 stars

Oh my freaking goodness. I LOVED this book. Donovan is hot! Talia is amazing! This book took my heart in its hands and ripped it to shreds, then pieced it back together again even better then before. It made me smile, I sat down & read this book in 3 hours (I'm a fast reader). Not once did I put it down except to use the restroom... it was that good! This entire series was! I love all of S. Layne's book so far and I can't wait for more!

Well that was.... good... great...fantastic... awesome.

Ever been reading a book, that you like so much that you will it to be finished, but then trying to hold it over a longer period of time jyst so it lasts that little bit longer..... Enflame was that book for me, and worse is the fact I can't say why. There was just something that had me "hooked".

I believe that the author, S Layne created great characters that were likeable, but also people you could relate to. Miss Talia Merchant, is strong willed, has overcome a tough life with the death of her mum, the stroke her father suffered which now has him in a respite facility where she is always hopeful he will return to the dad she so badly wants and remembers. She is now a co-owner and counselor of a drop in Centre for kids on the street where she struggles on a daily basis to open up to her, and although she shouldn't she favors a young 13yr old boy, he is living it rough. But Jeremiah has Talia wrapped around his little finger, or maybe it should be the other way round.

While dealing with Jeremiah a knock on the door finds he has a visitor... Taking him to the front of the Centre she is face to face with a voice and the face of a man she never thought she would see again. Donovan Lore, is mega rich, apparently Jeremiah's uncle, oh and the man that stole her virginity 8 yrs ago and dissappeared the next morning.

Although I obviously couldn't see the look on Donovan's face that day but I can certainly see it in my mind. He is shocked at seeing Talia again, and it is clearly not just shock in his eyes it is Talia who is left gob smacked... Knowing who he affects her she uses her cranky side and dismisses him immediately. She doesn't need him in her life, but oh god she still wants him. With her Centre on its last legs due to no funding, with 45 days left to find funding and a last warning for the place her father is in, she finds herself in deep trouble, she doesn't want to give up everything she has worked do hard for, and cannot live with leaving all of her kids high and dry.

With a anonymous donation of 1 million dollars in the centre's account, and no guess' for who is responsible, Talia knows Donovan is the benefactor, but knowing money doesn't come for free, there is always a catch... and a huge catch it is. But will Talia, give into the one man she truly loved after he stomped all over her heart years ago? and will giving into Donovan Lore destroy her again or will his fight her her, win him the ultimate prize.

This story is not a HUGE BANG, but a well flowing love story with well created characters. The intense relationship between Donovan and Talia is electric, the sexual chemistry is off the charts, so much that on a number of occasions I felt those tummy flutters with his dominant yet loving nature towards Talia. Her relationship that is a major focus of the story is Jeremiah, their relationship is hard at 1st but gives into Talia' s motherly nature, she breaks down his walls while he is a huge impact on her walls too.

Although Enflame is told through Talia's eyes, it was nice to het Donovan's side through as well. He is not the monster we are made to believe he is... With his own struggles they must work together to help Jeremiah come to terms with his family's death and his new found family backup that is evident in Talia and Donovan.

Well written, great characters, great story, I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more from S. Layne.

“His eyes and how they slowly roam down the length of my body, taking in every inch of my covered skin. I may be wearing an oversized sweatshirt and yoga pants, but I’ve never felt so naked in my life. My hair is in a sloppy ponytail, my makeup washed off. I should feel like a slob, but as Donovan continues closing the space between us, I know he doesn’t care about any of that.”

4 stars. I really like this third book in the series! It was super cute and a lot of fun to read!

Talia has sworn off men, since her first love broke her heart and took her virginity. And besides she’s way too busy dealing with dad and trying to save a shelter for at risk teens. She doesn’t need a man to mess up what she has going and complicate things. But in walks Donovan, he helps save her free clinic just when she thought she was going to lose it and not only is he interested in the free shelter he’s interested in Talia. And while she tries to push him away, he’s trying to break down all her walls she’s put up since her last boyfriend split. This book was so much fun, I really loved this book. I think this might be my favorite in the series!!

Whoo boy.
So there's this https://twitter.com/Limecello/status/...
and then there's this https://twitter.com/Limecello/status/...

like...

I'm wavering between one and two stars and keep changing my mind
I'm going with 2 since I did read/readskim the book
but my god there is A LOT OF SHIT and I mean shit as in BAD and things WRONG

So ... D- or D- -

Like i hated the premise of the relationship - first, he's married but separated, saying he's doing ot be divorced. And the heroine is all OK I'LL BE YOUR MISTRESS.
And then the holy shit WTFery with the "center" she "runs" only NOT REALLY SINCE THERE ARE ONLY 2 EMPLOYEES AND NEITHER WORK NIGHTS OR WEEKENDS YET APPARENTLY SUPPOSEDLY JUVENILES LIVE THERE?! WHAT? ... WHAT??!?!

Plus the "hero" is her college boyfriend of 5 months who LITERALLY LEFT HER BED THE NIGHT HE TOOK HER VIRGINITY AND THEN GHOSTED HER. NOT A SINGLE GODDAMN WORD UNTIL EIGHT YEARS LATER. EIGHT.
FUCKING.
YEARS.

Like bitch have some PRIDE?!
>.> He already gave you the $1m.
Can't take it back.

Tell him the fuck no.
<.<

Even with a second million on the line.

Then the fact that she takes some of the money to care for her dad. Uh so ... that sounds like embezzlement?

And then the WTFery with Ben which in part I get? But like holy shit was a lot done wrong and gotten wrong like hello you do an emergency temporary custody hearing IMMEDIATELY
not this expediting of actual custody etc.
Just ... so. much. Wrong.

D- - - - -
... F+?

I don't know.

I really wanted Jenson Rhodes' book but I see it's a BDSM one but ... :X I'll try it. :X

Talia runs a non-profit organization that helps youth who are experiencing trauma or homelessness. The rest of her time is devoted to her father who recently suffered a massive stroke. Funding for the shelter is becoming scarce, and neither Talia or her father have the means to continue paying for his medical and extended care needs. She is shocked when a man she never thought she'd see comes to her shelter to retrieve his nephew. Donovan and Talia were together in college until Donovan's wealthy and powerful mother intervened in their relationship. Talia has never gotten over Donovan and it becomes clear that he has never gotten over her either.

This book is part of The Affair series, but the characters are new and there is only a brief mention of Laurie and James here and there. This installment can easily be read as a stand-alone. Talia is an easy character to like and relate to. She is kind and loving and does whatever she can to help those she cares about. It was clear that Donovan's leaving her in college really hurt her and is something she has struggled with through the years. Donovan isn't entirely likable for a while, but when we do really get to know him and he starts acting like the man Talia knows him to be he is pretty spectacular. Watching Donovan become the man he really is was a very rewarding experience. The physical chemistry between Talia and Donovan was very hot, and I was really hoping that they would be able to find a way to make their relationship work. 3.5 stars

Oh my, this book certainly has it all and then some! I loved the first two books in the series, but for completely different reasons. This book features Laurie's (from books 1 & 2) best friend Talia.

Talia is going through some really heavy stuff, both in her personal and professional lives and has pretty much reached the bottom of the barrel and has no where else to turn for help. Until someone from her past comes back into her life after radio silence for eight years.

He recognizes that Talia could have the potential to help with the situation regarding his nephew, but he was underhanded in his handling of getting Talia's help. Even after eight years of no contact, the chemistry is still scorching between them, but yet it somehow goes nuclear once Talia accepts his "offer".

There is more to this story than just the nuclear sexy times between Talia and Donovan (although those scenes will have you going back and re-reading them because they're just that damn hot!); we also get to see how the relationships between Donovan and nephew progresses, as well as the relationship between Talia and Donovan. Will they get a HEA? You'll have to read to find out, but trust me when I say it is worth it!

I am not giving away any spoilers for this book.. I loved the book as soon as i started reading it i couldn't put it down. I loved Donovan Lore from the very beginning when he showed up by coincidence. He knew immediately he was going to get Talia Merchant back. She gave him a little run for his money but the heart knows what the heart wants. Talia's heart wanted Donovan even tho he broke her heart all those ago. She sees what he went thru and is still gong thru - but he redeems himself. Buy the book well worth it... I loved it -

Absolutely love this series, even though this is the third in the series you don't have to read the other two first, this book is a standalone.

This is Donovan and Talia's story. Donovan broke Talias heart eight years and she never recovered from it, so when she saw him standing outside her office her heart dropped. The chemistry between these two is explosive! They have a love that never faded and both have huge hearts. Not only is this about true love it's about family and excepting others as family.

Read it, you will not be disappointed!

Binging on this series has had its shares of ups and downs. Thankfully, this one was an up! I enjoyed Talia and Donovan’s second chance romance. It was a rocky start of intentions with Donovan’s unexpected return to Talias life and I wasn’t sure they were going to get better or get worse. However, these two handled most aspects of their relationship with better communication skills than Laurie did and they had a believable connection, which kept me better invested.

Overall, this was a good read. This one wasn’t as emotionally angsty as Entice and had a lot more happy moments, especially when Donovan and Talia ironed out some issues. I liked the characters, especially Talia’s neighbor who had absolutely no filter, and liked the kids from Talia’s counseling center. There was some drama, family squabbling, lots of sexy action (so one or two scenes had terrible timing, otherwise decently done), and-if it’s a trigger for some-one of the teens in Talia’s care does come with a case of child abuse.

Amazingly hot

Enflame is a great title because the sex was inflaming. Love lost and found with just enough drama to be believable. Now I would like to know what's next for the couple.
There is another novel for them a few months or years older.

Since meeting Talia in the first two books of this series (Entice/Embrace) I’ve been excited to hear that she was getting her own story! She was an awesome friend to Laurie in those books and I knew I’d love her as a heroine in her own story. Now that I’ve finished reading this book, I can see that I was totally right! As with the first two books, this one was also an unexpected delight and a really great read. I know this series is classified as erotic romance, and believe me, it totally is, but what I love about these books is that it’s also got an entirely realistic story line, believable characters/situations and a lot of heart. This book can be read as a complete standalone but if you are thinking about reading Entice and Embrace someday I would recommend reading those first because there will be some spoilers in this book about that storyline. So if you want to avoid that then read this second!

When we catch up with Talia here she is struggling trying to care for her sick father and trying to keep her teen shelter afloat. She is just about out of hope when she discovers a mysterious deposit in her shelter’s bank account. The mysterious benefactor soon reveals himself and comes to her with an enticing proposition that seems to be beneficial to the both of them. Talia, seeing this as the only way of saving her shelter as well as being able to continue to pay for her father’s care, agrees to his terms. I don’t want to say much more than that in order not to spoil anything but what starts out as an erotic proposition actually turns into quite a heartwarming story of healing, family and following your heart. Don’t get me wrong though, there’s plenty of steam in there too!

Donovan, rich, sexy with a big heart, was totally swoon-worthy! He turned out to be much more than I expected and I really loved his character. He grew a lot over the course of the story and I loved the influence that Talia played in that. I loved how much he wanted to help her and all of the ways he showed her what she meant to him. He had his work cut out for him, trying to break through Talia’s walls (which were up for good reason as you’ll find out), but Donovan was nothing if not persistent! And, can I say, the man definitely knew his way around the bedroom! You’ll find yourself needing a fan quite often over the course of this book!

There was also a great group of secondary characters in this book. I liked seeing Laurie again and seeing what was going on in her life at that point. I also love Jeremiah and Ben, seeing how much Talia cared for these boys really warmed my heart. I really respected how much of herself she put into her work, she really helped make a difference in their lives and the lives of many other teens through the work she does. I also loved Mrs. Bartol, she was hilarious and a perfect addition to this book!

All in all I really enjoyed this book, I love Stacey Lynn/S. Layne’s writing and it seems to just get better and better with each new book! I don’t know if she’s planning on writing anymore books in this series but I will be sure to read them if she does!

******ARC given for an honest review******

We met Talia in the first books, she is Laurie’s best friend. Born the daughter of a mechanic, Talia has never known a life of ease. She was raised by her father after losing her mother at a young age to a traffic accident. They may not have had much but she has always had love.
Talia runs a shelter/counseling center for at risk teens, it’s in danger of being shut down due to lack of funding. She also needs money to keep her father, who had a stroke, in is care facility. Talia is drawn to one angry young man that keeps showing up, she doesn’t know much more than his name, Jeremiah. Until one day someone shows up to collect him, that someone just happens to be the man that broke Talia’s heart eight years ago.
Donovan comes off as a conceited jerk at first. He wasn’t like this in college, he was a great guy then and he made plans for a life with Talia only to leave her out of the blue the morning after taking her virginity. Not only that, but only a year later he married the very girl that made Talia’s life hell. It’s understandable that she is less than thrilled to see him and even more stunned that he is connected to Jeremiah.
Donovan has never forgotten Talia. He bowed under his mother’s influence to leave her, marry the girl she felt more suitable, and take over the family business after his father passes away. That all changes after his sister and most of her family is killed in a car crash and he takes in his nephew. He finally sees the truth of who his wife and mother really are. He is having a hard time with Jeremiah because he is so angry and keeps getting into trouble at school. After seeing the way Jeremiah turns to Talia he makes her an offer, two million dollars to save her business if she will not only help with Jeremiah but live in his house and share his bed.
Despite the way it makes her feel to agree to something like that, Talia can’t refuse. That money will keep her business going for a long time and keep her father where he is. She’ll sell her body to Donovan but she will not let him have her heart to crush again. Now if only she can keep up her defenses around him, deal with his mother and soon to be ex-wife. But Donovan has other plans, he wants Talia forever, he just has to convince her that he won’t break her heart again.

Wow!!! This is the best book of this series yet! I am so in love with Talia, Donovan, Jeremiah and even Allan. You will meet all of the most important men in Talia's life and you will fall in love with them just like I did. We even meet some characters that I can not wait for more of their stories to unfold.

So, we met Talia in books one and two of The Affair Series as Laurie's best friend. I knew that I would love her from those books. I liked her personality and her devotion to her best friend. She was definitely a rock in a Laurie's rough patch and that spoke volumes of the type of person she is. I fell in love with her even more at the beginning of this book when she is a woman just trying to make a living doing what she loves and at the same time trying to take care of her father and everyone else she feels the need to help. I felt for Talia when she was feeling the weight of all her problems and the way she was so overwhelmed in trying to deal with everything by herself.

During a pretty stressful time for Talia she gets a blast from her past, Donovan Lore, the man who changed her forever. I am immediately drooling over Donovan Lore and all his sexiness when he just shows up into Talia's center. I like that he is someone that she never thought she would see again because his is tied to one of the kids from her center. I like that just before he makes his first appearance she was just making comparisons between the troubled kid in her office and the man that once held her heart.

Getting to see all of their relationships grow from the start of this book until the end was so great. This book is off the charts sexy, sweet and pretty funny at times. I like that the characters all evolved in some way, because it made for a better read and it really helped connect me with the characters and their story. I definitely want more of this series!

Enflame is book 3 in The Affair Series by S Layne. You need not have read the previous two books as this is a standalone outing. It's an emotional, moving and all encompassing read that makes you really think about what's important to you in life: wealth, status and power or happiness, honesty and love?

Talia Merchant will be familiar to you if you've read previous books, if not she's a fighter, a resourceful and determined woman but keeps herself closed off to people; they let you down and hurt you is the mantra she believes. Not one person has had the ability to break through the protection she has guarded her heart with after the devastating heart break she endured 8 years ago.

Unfortunately she finds herself on the verge of burning out and financial ruin: trying to care for her father, running a teen shelter and barely keeping her head above water with both those financial issues. So Talia is in no frame of mind to face a ghost from her past one evening after the day from hell. But could this ghost be the one to save her or ruin her all over again??

Donovan Lore: Pure perfection, ridiculously rich and undeniably attractive with those piercing green eyes. He is a man who always gets what he wants and he wants Talia. He is the one man who broke her heart all those years ago and the one man to make it beat again. Can he get Talia to do as he wants or will all his efforts just Enflame her anger and pain at the past or have they got a chance to right the wrong that happened so long ago?

Can a woman who never offers more than her body to a man learn to open her heart to one and can a man who never looses learn that he may not always get what he wants?
It's an addictive read from start to finish and I know the moment I open one of Stacey's books I'll be captivated for hours!!

Enflame was another scorcher by S.Layne. Dear lord, are these books hot and steamy!!! In this installment, we meet Talia. She is a newish character (she is friends with Laurie Baker from the first 2 books). Talia runs a center for at risk teens. She loves her job, but her life is imploding. Her dad had a stroke and is in a coma. His medical bills are piling up. Now the center is running out of funding and she needs a miracle.

As if things can't get any worse, Donovan Lore walks back into her life. Donovan was the man who stole Talia's heart as well as her virginity 8 years ago. She was deeply in love with him, but his family and wealth made him walk away from her and do what they insisted.

Donovan's nephew often visits the teen center. He is quite and hurting. He has yet to open himself up, but Talia knows there is something he is keeping inside. Donovan explains that he now has custody of his nephew. The entire family passed away in a car accident, all except one.

Donovan has a brilliant idea to hire Talia to help with his nephew. There maybe other motives there as well. Donovan knows he let the best thing in his life get away from him many years ago and now he decides he needs to win her back.

Did I mention I LOVE Donovan Lore!!! OMG he is sexy and completely alpha but also sweet and caring. In a spit second, he is willing to risk it all to make sure the 2 most important people in hid life are happy.

I love a second chance romance story. This was a fantastic one. Donovan has changed to something he is not, and Talia is killing to help him become the person he used to be. Loved every second of this book!!

When I first started this book, it didn’t seem all that different from others I’ve read. Wealthy man sees something he wants and he makes it happen – and to be honest, there is an element of that here, but there is also love and history to make the story interesting.
Talia and Donovan dated in college, his father died and he disappeared only to reappear 8 years later needing her help. I really didn’t like Donovan at first. He was egotistical and cold and I could understand why his nephew resisted him. Early on, Talia was more personable and it was easier to understand her motives if not support her actions.
Enflame follows the frenemies to lover’s path. Donovan never comes across as warm and fuzzy, but you do get to see a softer side that makes him much more likeable. I appreciated how he finally opened up and explained to Talia what happened in the past and then stood up for her and their relationship in the present.
I enjoyed Enflame, but honestly felt that it was a little on the long side for the story being told. One element of the story, that I felt was a little overdone was the sexy time. The point was made early on that these two can’t keep their hands off of each other, so the multitude of sex scenes seemed to be over kill. Some of the ways Donovan talked to Talia while they were intimate also came across as overly harsh and I could understand why she didn’t know where she stood with him emotionally. The sexy time thing is a matter of taste, but I felt there was a little too much where it didn’t really serve the story.

**MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS**

Let's start here, I read Book 1 in this series, Entice and loved it. I have not read Book 2 yet (but intend to). Since this is Book 3 in the series, but is a stand alone (meaning it's not the same story as the first 2 books) I figured I'd be okay even thought I haven't read Embrace yet. Essentially you're fine, however, if you intend to read Book 1 and/or 2, you may want to wait on reading Enflame. Simply because there is mention of an event from the prior 2 books and I now know how Book 2 will end.

Back to this book! I loved Enflame just as much as Entice. What an amazing second chance love story. Donovan and Talia are so great together. Talia is a wonderful person who wants to help as many kids as possible. Donovan starts out as a tough as nails, business kind of guy. However, once he and Talia re-connent he softens so much and he and Talia are able to do even more for the kids together then when she was on her own. Without giving too much away, Enflame is a steamy read as well, but I really enjoyed the story that went along with this book. Then there's Talia's neighbor, Mrs. Bartol who made me laugh out loud a few times. I felt my heart literally drop a few times when reading about Ben's "home" life. Sadly S. Layne hits the nail on the head here for some kids. Such a huge problem that so many people just ignore. I love how Talia is willing to risk so much to help these kids. I was also happy with the ending for Donovan and Talia as well as Jeremiah and Ben.

Enflame is the third story in this series, although is can be read as a stand alone.

Eight years ago Talia's heart was broken when the man she loved walked out of her life. She's moved on and now runs a shelter for kids/teenagers. Unfortunately she's experiencing financial problems. Her father recently suffered a stroke and the medical bills are growing, plus she needs more money to keep the shelter open.

Jeremiah is one of Talia's favorites kids. He's quiet and doesn't show up at the shelter all the time. Something about him is special and Talia has always felt a strong connection to him. Talia can't believe it when Donovan, the man she loved all those years ago comes looking for Jeremiah and turns out to be his uncle. Then an anonymous donation is made and Donovan makes Talia an offer she just can't refuse.

I liked Talia's and Donovan's story. We learn that Donovan left Talia eight years ago, but unfortunately we never get a complete explanation as to why. It's hinted and assumed, but I would have liked a little more background and/or explanation. With Donovan being such a strong man, I kept thinking there had to have been more to it. He's a great character and I thoroughly enjoyed Talia's character too. Working with troubled teens is a wonderful job and she was passionate about wanting to help the kids.

This was a nice story about getting a second chance with that one person who you loved but lost in the past.
