When I first read Rocked's synopsis, Ronda Rousey immediately came to my mind. She's currently the It Girl in the MMA/UFC and had a lot fans adoring her. When I read about former MMA fighter Amanda Baker aka Roxy Punisher, I easily placed Rousey's face on Roxy's character and wham! The story clicked.
Too bad, Roxy's MMA glory days were cut off right at the start of the stories. Just when she was about to catapult to stardom, Jessie Rage ruined her dreams and Roxy Punisher soon became history. Now, she was just plain Amanda Baker working for a security firm.
Johnny Q was a famous rockstar, alright, and had fans all over the globe. But being famous also meant having stalkers and haters, bashers. His security was threatened and soon found himself being protected by none other than Amanda aka Roxy Punisher. Unbeknownst to Amanda, Johnny had admired Roxy Punisher from afar, from long time ago, and had never stopped. Now they had to be together 24/7, with Amanda acting as his bodyguard slash girlfriend.
This had been a cute and awesomely hot read! I swear I had this stupid grin plastered on my face while reading Amanda and Johnny's tryst. It was really exciting and engaging. But one gotta love cliffhangers before reading this story because ROCKED ends with it. So I gotta read the next book in the serial. Yay!

I wanted to like this when I started reading it, truly I did. I just couldn't bring myself to give it more stars. Johnny comes across like a petulant child when speaking with Kevin. Kevin is a frustrating character, on an epic level. I couldn't stand the dialogue between the two of them. I never read what type of injury Amanda exactly had that forced her to retire from MMA. It all just fell a bit flat and frankly I was nonplussed that it stopped where it did in the, I'm guessing, hope that I'd pay for the second part of this book.

This was completely unbelievable. Amanda is a female ex-MMA fighter. She's forced in to early retirement after an injury during a bout. No information is given as to exactly why she's forced to retire (maybe it's detailed in a future installment), but it's a year and a half or so since her last fight and she's working for a private security firm. She wants to open her own private security firm so she can plan the logistics rather than stand around guarding politicians.
Johnny is a famous rock star. He's slightly obsessed with Amanda from her MMA fighting days. He secretly follows her on social media and knows she wants to open her own security firm. He has a small tour coming up and decides to hire her to provide security as way to meet her and get close to her.
It quickly escalates and Amanda is hired on the spot. They have sex that night. While she's supposed to be providing security. The next day, the FBI becomes involved because Johnny is getting some serious threats from a stalker fan. Amanda now becomes his fake-girlfriend bodyguard while the FBI will be working with Johnny's normal security for the tour. So, Amanda leaves Johnny unguarded late that morning to go for a run. Then Johnny takes her on a date that evening where she gets blitzed.
Wonderful decisions all around by Amanda. And Johnny is like a petulant child who is controlled by Kevin his manager/adopted step-father.

This is a serial novel so each part is just a short story with a cliffhanger that continues when the next installment comes out. The writing grips you in the beginning when you meet who Amanda is and you wonder what the future has in store for her and her HEA. Johnny's life hold secrets. I am looking forward to reading the next installments to find them all out!

I bought this book when it was advertised for free and I have to say that I liked it. Amanda is a retired MMA fighter and she has decided she wants to own her own security firm. Johnny is a rock star and has admired her from afar for years. He has a opportunity to have Amanda come over to LA, to be his personal security for his latest tour. It’s his chance to finally meet her.
It was really enjoyable to read but I would have liked to have been a bit longer and maybe had a bit more depth to the characters. Other than that, it was good and I’m looking forward to read part 2 of their story.

Really Does Rock
Wonderful book, but I have to wait for the next one? Yes, I knew this is just the first book in the series, but I am really looking forward to reading the next one. I really love both of the main characters. Great job with setting up the characters and the storyline. Johnny and Amanda definitely have the sexual chemistry, but you can feel so much more between them. Yes, this book really does rock. I highly recommend it.

I loved this book! It has a original storyline with a confident woman as a main character. After tragic end of Amanda's career in MMA she gets the job offer of the century. I mean who wouldn't want to work for a hot Rock star? But Johnny has a few secrets. What are those secret? What will Amanda think? Read book one and get hooked to find out the answer.

It's free book time for me since I've been using my Amazon card too much. LOL. And this one shows it. They need to tell you it's not the whole book, but part 1. Jeez. I'd probably have read the whole thing and given it maybe a 3 if it had been a whole book.
