(3.5⭐️) Friends to lovers when they’re pretty much already a couple irritates me sometimes. Because why are y’all playing in EVERYBODY’s (mine included) faces lol. 😂 It took them way too long to admit that they had feelings for each other, and even once it happened, Karma still lived in her head a little bit. But I liked the way that Asiah offered her reassurance.
I don’t think this was a bad book, but I’d be lying if I said I was completely engaged. I was invested in Karma and Asiah, but the story just never gave me enough to really pull me in, and there were quite a few moments where I found myself wishing things would pick up.
This was a quick and low-angst kind of read, though, and I appreciated that. I just think I needed a little more happening to really keep the story moving for me.
Karma and Asiah are best friends who want more but it just seems like the timing wasn’t right for them until now. They have both wasted time with other people when the reality is that no one is going to give them what they can only find in the other. Asiah finally puts his cards on the table and confesses his feelings. Karma is concerned but Asiah has always shown her his true feelings. I loved their story but I could have did with less of his dealings with Cherice. 🙄 For a man who was in love with his bestie, he was folding Cherice over a bit too much for me!
Love, love, love friends to lovers reads! 🥰 Karma and Asiah were meant to be from the start. Why the hell they waited so long, is beyond me. 👀 They were already lowkey together without the title and intimacy. I enjoyed the buildup and the transition from friends to lovers. However, once they made the declaration, things moved quickly. Asiah was not playing games with K baby! ❤️👍🏾👍🏾
This was a a good friends to lovers romance with hardly any drama. Asiah and Karma were best friends who secretly wanted to be together and were in love with each other but spent years entertaining others and keeping the other in the friend zone. Once Asiah decided he was ready to pursue a relationship, he let his intentions be known. It was cute how they interacted. They were basically already in a relationship with the way they were together all the time and the thoughtful gifts they gave each other. Their transition from friends to lovers was pretty seamless. There was potential for drama from the people they had been entertaining, but they both handled their dismissal gracefully.
I was surprised by Karma’s previous career and I was left wondering if any one in her family knew about it. Karma’s previous career being the catalyst for how her and Asiah met was interesting as well. I loved the gifts Asiah got for her and how thoughtful and intentional they were. This was a very well written drama free friends to lovers romance.
Asiah and Karma have been best friends for years but were secretly in love with each other as well. Even before they got together, Asiah didn't play when it came to his K Baby. Afterwards, he definitely wasn't. I'm glad that they finally revealed their true feelings for each other and acted on what everyone else were waiting for them to realize. I certainly didn't see the plot twist of how they met coming. I didn't expect Karma to have those kind of layers that she had at that time. Asiah didn't come for Karma until he was ready to leave the lifestyle he was in which I loved. This was a beautiful friends to lovers book that the author did a magnificent job writing. Enjoyable from beginning to end!!
Been waiting for this one and while I wasn't disappointed, it needed more just like Koda's book... sigh
Kairo and Koda got added to my book bae's quickly... this book is their sister Karma's story. From their books I definitely expected her and her "best friend" Asiah to end up together because everyone kept suspecting it in the other books. I didn't expect it to happen as smoothly as it did though. Nor did I expect to find out the line of work Karma and Asiah were in when they met and became attached at the hip.
I love the follow ups with Kairo and Koda as it relates to their significant others, children etc.
Asiah was definitely a real one and put Karma before anybody else on the planet even before he stepped to her to officially make her his.
Asiah and Karma's story felt very rushed. It jumped from one event/situation/scene to the next, without closure to it. I was curious as to which parent had that gene, but that was skipped over. As a matter of fact, Karma's parents weren't too involved in this story, especially in regards to the medical emergency.
It was a surprise to find out what the both of them did for a profession. I would have never guessed that. Did her family know?
This book was so loving and sweet. The intentionality Asiah used with every visit, hug, kiss, gift, and word he used with Karma was so beautiful and powerful. He assured and reassured her of her place in his heart and life. He was patient and kind with her and she recognized it and reciprocated. Despite her reservations at one point and what she was going through nothing wavered in his feelings and the fact that he knew he’d have Karma’s heart one day and she’d be his homie, lover, and forever best friend. Loved it.
It was a cute short book. Karma went through her ups and downs. I am glad she got rid of that no-good boyfriend. Asiah should have been her man. Yea, he was her best friend, but they love each other. Asiah was a good guy. He should have left his woman alone a long time ago. She caught feelings. Once Karma and Asiah became a couple and worked their issues, they were beautiful. I loved how he loved her. I would recommend the series
Karma and Asiah were adorable and had a great friendship. While it was a little annoying, Karma being her head about a relationship with Asiah was understandable since their friendship was very important. Shaun and Cherice knew they were on borrowed time when it came to their relationships with Asiah and Karma. Really liked the gifts and the meaning they held for Karma and Asiah. Hopefully something happens between Diamond and Jacoby.
Ok when I say I need somebody who is all about me and hands down nobody comes before me!! I’m TALKING ABOUT ASAIAH!!! Babyy sir was all about Karma and the way it was easy for everything to fall in place was an understatement!! I mean if it fit it fit!! I ate this up it was very good and the cutest thing!!! But hey I will read anything THIS AUTHOR writes!!!! Hands down it was good,
From besties to lovers! Karma & Asiah were truly meant to be together, their friendship was already established! I liked how they didn't force the matter, it came about naturally when they took it to the next level! I love how Maria's family lived on her just as Asiah family did! I loved the ending as well!
K baby and Red are my favorite of the group !!!!! I loved everything about this book !!!! I normally don’t care for friends to lovers because the speed is kinda drawn out but this one was chefs kiss!!!! And I peeped diamond and Jacoby being mentioned a lot 👀 I wouldn’t be surprised if we got their book next, I know the banter in there will be hilarious!
The story was cool. I wonder if you have to read the brother's books to get why Karma was in the profession she was doing on the side. Also, being that the author put no indicators to let you know there were other books before I would think not reading them made no difference
My absolute favorite trope and it did not disappoint! Karma and Asiah are what best friend to lovers should look like. They both were hiding feelings and it was easy to transition into be lovers - no drama, just pure love.
Love this best friend turns lovers book. They always loved each other. Had each other’s best interests at heart. Good to read about her brothers and their women also. Karma got her happily ever after also.
This was a quick, relatable and heartwarming read. Friends to lovers is one of the best relationships to be a part of. I enjoyed reading Karma and Asiah's story and will be recommending it. Thank you, Soleil, for another awesome story.
This was a good read!! This is the exact type of relationship I want. I want to have a friendship first. This is why their relationship was able to transition the way it did!! I loved Karma and Asiahs relationship!!
K baby and Red wanted to protect their friendship and were both afraid of what would happened if they crossed that line. But omg it was so beautiful when they decided to do just that.
Karma and Asiah were meant to be! Any woman who dated Asiah was a fool! That man told any woman that he dealt with that Karma was always going to come first and they could deal with it or leave. I love how he never played about Karma and he didn't let anyone else play about her either.
