As the Alpha’s only daughter Shayna Andrews has always been treated like a rare gem, protected like royalty, and she’s suffocating. Her longing to be independent has driven her to sneak out one evening after dinner. After relishing in being able to run free without an escort, she finds herself face-to-face with the enemy, miles from home, and nearly loses her life until a lone wolf comes to her aid.
Travis Hunter’s main objective is to destroy the Onyx Pack—a group of drug using, murdering rogue shifters. His seek-and-destroy plans are put on hold when he rescues a female from a brutal attack. The beautifully exotic tiger shifter, Shayna, stirs a passion he thought died with his long-lost mate.
When Shay’s first heat cycle slams into her, Travis has no choice but to submit to her needs—and his own. But there is always a price to sleeping with the Pack princess. Not only will they have to face her Pack, Shay and Travis will have to deal with a mating that is beyond a single night and could have consequences more than either of them had thought. And when Travis finds out Shay wears the enemy’s brand, things will go from bad to worse.

This is how long it took them to shag - This is how long it took them to know they were mates - This is how fast the story went - This is what i thought of the book -
This book had a great storyline however I felt at times things were rushed. Even the sex scenes in the book were semi hot; but over with way too fast. There were some editing issues as well, mainly spelling errors so it wasn't too distracting. The world that was created has some very promising characters in it, and it would be nice to get to know them all with some more depth. My full review will be posted at Storm Goddesses reviews at a later date.
Shayna is a princess who doesn't want to be. Adopted by the Alpha of the Ashwood Pack, Shayna fears her link to the rogue Onyx pack. She bares their mark, a brand she's had since infancy.Shayna longs for freedom... freedom from responsibility and a loving, but overbearing family.
She is so isolated that she isn't even sure of herself when she meets her mate. And when she learns his history she is terrified of what his reaction to her brand will be.
I loved Travis' little girl and his wonderful mother. It was great to see Shayna finally come into her own. I am really enjoying the Ashwood series and can't wait for the next book.
Lia Davis has written a story around tiger and wolf shifters’ which is one of my favorite’s types of novels to read. Lia Davis is a first time author for me and I am very glad I was given the opportunity to read A Tiger’s Claim. Lia’s writing is good, her descriptions are well written the story line flows smoothly and I definitely would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys reading about shifters.
We are introduced to Shayna who is feeling overwhelmed by her father and brothers, they are all very protective of Shayna and sometimes she feels like she cannot breath. Keeping very close tabs on Shayna is driving her crazy, so after an argument with her over bearing Alpha father she runs off by herself. Feeling free running through the woods help Shayna clear her head. Off course nothing is that easy and Shayna runs into trouble. Knowing at this point she is in big trouble she is relieved when someone steps in to help her. Travis Hunter who is close by hears and knows someone is in trouble, stepping in to save Shayna from the rouges is something he knows he has to do.
Travis brings the injured tiger shifter home to keep her safe and take care of her injuries. While fixing her up he realizes that Shayna is his true mate. Shayna who happens to be going through her first heat cycle cannot explain what she is feeling at the moment because of her cycle and really is not sure about this mate thing. Being so protected all her life she is not really sure she is ready for another overbearing male in her life.
A Tiger’s Claim is full of over bearing male shifters, romance, mystery and passion, a great beginning to a new series.
I have rated A Tiger’s Claim a 4 star rating and recommend anyone to pick up this novel and you will definitely not be disappointed with the story or Lia Davis writing.
I was given this book free in exchange for a honest review.
I'm enjoying this series and Ms. Davis's world of Ashwood Falls. Technically this is book 1, but there is a prequel to the series called WINTER EVE.
A TIGERS CLAIM is set in pack kingdom called Ashwood Falls and follows the Alpha's adopted daughter, Shayna - A White Tiger. Immediately we feel her restlessness and desire to just get away. Unfortunately for her, getting away has it's costs. But, I will let you read it to find out the price :-)
The war between Ashwood and Onyx is violent and surrounds the characters in this series. The fight scenes are very realistic and I can see them play out easily. Ms. Davis has a fabulous gift with description, harnessing all your senses to bring the setting and scenes to life.
The love story between Travis and Shayna is a little predictable, but I really LOVED Travis as the hero of the story and was very drawn to his Alpha-but-sweet-and-protecting nature. Don't get me wrong, he has a very STRONG alpha side too. The sexual tension and SEX between them is fabulous and I really enjoyed how Ms. Davis built up their connection through the book.
I did feel that since a big deal was made out of it being Shayna's first time, she and Travis's first encounter did not mirror the fuss made about it later in the book. I also found her immediate switch to having a mothering attitude a little out of place. I think there might could have been a little more of a transition to that change. There were a dozen or so misplaced words, so be prepared for that, if it bothers you.
All in all, it was a really good read and I am eagerly looking forward to see what Ashwood Falls future holds. What can I say, I'm a sucker for tortured characters and Ms. Davis can torture with the best.
Shayna, the adopted daughter of the alpha of Ashwood Falls and a tiger shifter, is tired of being sheltered. After a argument with family, she runs from her home. Running and not paying attention to how far she has run, she gets into more trouble than she has dreamed of. Being attacked by the enemy and too far from her pack, she fights for her life. A lone wolf comes to her aid.
Travis with a history all his own, fights his way through the shifters to save the woman. After saving her, he knows he has to take her to his home. But his family has been through a hell that no man, woman or child should have to go through.
Being in a strangers home, around new shifters and not knowing where danger lies, is not the place to crush on the stranger that saved her. Being drawn to the very good looking man, wouldn't be a problem if her first heat cycle hadn't just started.
I really love these Ashwood Falls books. Lia gets you into a story and you become so involed with the characters. Travis and his family are a great addition to the Ashwood community.Shayna is such a strong woman and although their love is new, you know it will be strong between her and Travis. I can't wait for the next book. These are great reads for anyone who wants a book with action, a little adventure and some hot love scenes. Adults only! Thanks Lia for the great read.

This book was so much more than I thought it would be and I really had set the bar pretty high. I had read the prequel and loved the world Lia had created and could not wait to get my hands on this book. I was expecting my typical shifter crack, which I love. Yes you have the shifter "true mate" awesome love story with lots of heat going on, but it does not end there. Both Shay and Travis have a past that is now looking them in the face as they try to build a future. Without giving spoilers away, it was great to see the multi- layers of Travis and the many roles he has and has had in the past. It made his character one I am hoping to see more of as this series continues. I was sort of thinking Shay was going to be a bit of a princess going into this book and knowing her place in the pack and was pleasantly surprised by who she turned out to actually be, an amazingly strong and selfless woman who lets nothing stand in the way of what she knows she needs to do. Mix their story with that of this very different pack and I could not put this book down. If you love shifters and are looking for something different, but still holding all the elements we shifter crack lovers want, this book is probably for you. I will definitely be devouring any book she releases from this series!
The second book in the Ashwood Falls series continues to enchant the reader with its great characters and engaging world.
Shayna is a tiger shifter who is overprotected by her family and yearns for some freedom and she finds more that she’s looking for when she is protected by mutant rogues. Luckily she is rescued by Travis, a wolf who is out to destroy the mutants that destroyed his mate and pack.
The chemistry between the two burns hot and fast, especially when Shayna goes into her first heat and Travis helps her through it. As the attraction builds, the two are forced to go on the run when they are attacked again. Shayna’s love for Travis and his family grow and when they have to fight to save his daughter’s life
The suspense builds throughout the story as they try to stop their enemies and protect the inhabitants of Ashwood Falls.
The author has created a world that leaves the reader entertained and wanting more with its well written sex scenes, fight scenes a believable story line and magical characters. The story also has surprising twists that keep the reader anticipating what’s next.
I was so excited to read this story after finishing Winters Eve. Luckily I was not disappointed. Travis and Shay's story is wonderful. Shay is such a dominant personality it was interesting to see her go up against the alpha Travis. I have to say though, my heart was totally stolen by Josie. It was great to see Dani and Nevan again and see how their relationship continues to be strong. I can't wait for the next book in this awesome series.
A Tigers Claim is a thrilling new book from promising new author, Lia Davis. Good news for me is that I love shapeshifter stories and this one is no exception. It was a great read and I enjoyed every minute of it. I enjoyed the plot and the fact that it played out differently from most shifter stories. The ingenious Ms. Davis gave it some subtle twists that gave this one an extra edge factor and made this book as good for me as I'd anticipated after reading the prequel and loving that one as well. Shay Andrews needs some breathing room. Restless and tired of being smothered by her alpha dad and overprotective brothers....she runs. Right away, she runs into trouble. Too late, the rebellious white tiger realizes that her adoptive father's worries were validated. Turns out he was right all along and Shay is alone when a past danger catches up to her. Enter our sexy alpha hero to rescue the day. Travis Hunter is a sexy wolf shifter with a past. He's mourning some heavy losses and he's out for vengeance against the rogue Onyx Pack. That pack of murderers took everything from him so he feels no regret when he takes back from them. A vigilante ? Maybe, I wasn't quite clear on that part. Whatever payback he gave...these bad boys deserved it. He answers Shay's desperate screams and then he makes her scream in ecstacy when she goes into heat. Okay, so I just had to throw that out there cause it really was hot and it worked for me too. So they sleep together before they figure out that maybe they were meant to be in the first place. Like I said....raising the edge and turning up the heat. Making the story even more exciting and changing the game....there is more at stake than Travis and Shay's romantic relationship. Catastrophe looms on the horizon as a new danger is revealed and someone very dear to Travis and Shay is at risk. My thoughts : I loved this first book in the Ashwood Falls series. It had a strong plot. Some very bad guys out to do some bad stuff. Except I never saw much of that, it was mostly alluded to during the story with the exception of the first fight scene. I would've liked to see more action. The story was mostly centered around the romantic relationship and the conflicts involved...of which there was plenty. I liked Travis. I felt he was a strong alpha and worthy of the independent Shay. I was a bit disappointed at his reticence in trusting Shay in those first moments of discovery (that I can't let out of the bag). But it said good things that he was willing to accept her as his true mate and work together in her integrated Pack. He regretted his vulnerability and loss of power...but he owned the reasons why. That was good on him and the biggest reason why I liked him so much. He was still a bossy alpha but it worked just fine for me. I loved Shay. Her setup was sweet as the perfect alpha heroine. I liked that she was tough enough to hold her own in an alpha male dominant environment. A strong fight reaching for her independence and strong enough to grab onto a good thing when she found it. My Bottom Line : I loved this book. Heck, I love this series...and it's only the beginning. Lots of Pack to go around. Lots of intriguing characters and interesting stories left to tell. Some sleeping with the enemy stuff would not go unappreciated. Nudge...nudge. Anyway it plays out...it's gonna be an exciting ride...and Ms. Davis can count me in as I'm just dying for the next one in the series. Cameron and Blaine ? And what's up with Alec and them moods he's been having lately ? See...I'm all excited here. A Tigers Claim was every bit as good as I'd expected it would be. I loved it and can't wait to read more. I'm sure that any self respecting shifter groupie would love it just as much so I'll be giving this one four flying stars.
A complimentary copy provided in return for my honest opinion.
I was really intrigued by everything in the novella Winter Eve and excited to see where this series would take me. This is a great first book!! Action, romance and so much going one it kept the story flowing from beginning to end!
Shay is a spicy spitfire and I love her!! Sure she makes some dumb choices flexing her independence but everything turns out alright!! I love all her stubborn attitude and hew gentle heart. She was really fun to read and I can not wait to see her grow through the series.
Travis is a perfect match for Shay. His wolf knows just how to keep the sexy tigress in check!! I loved that he was dominant but not over powering. He really did have a very nice balance. And while he had tragedy in his past he did not really wallow in self pity.
The story here was great! Kudos to Ms Davis on her storytelling!! It was beautifully paced and surprisingly action packed for a the length. Lots of events happening but never confusing or overwhelming. The back story is explored more here and I can see that the story is going to get even more involved with each new book in the series. Great world creating and such detail. I would have liked a little more info on the big battle. It seemed like it started and was just getting interesting when, BAM, it was over. I am really excited to keep following the shifters on their journey and see what will evolve with the rogues.
The steam factor was hot and delicious!! Plenty of bedroom action to keep a girls engines revved! Very creative and not formula at all!!! They were just a little short. I like to wallow in my smut sometimes! But it wasn't a major problem for me cause I was really digging the story!
Can;t wait to leap into the next book!!! I hear it is that dishy grouch Blaine and his saucy mat Cameron's turn!!!

Her world changed forever when tiger claimed his wolf! Magnificent continuation of the shifter series -- Ashwood Falls! Be sure to read Winter Eve first, the prequel to this story. I loved the feel of running wild through the woods with Shay, Josie, and Travis. And now a little about the book...
Shayna Andrews is the pack princess and she is suffocating! Her father won't let her run free and she is never alone. One day after a huge fight with her father, she took off in the woods and somehow left the den without her normal escorts. She was so mad she lost track of how far she ran and ended up face to face with the enemy. The half-man half-wolf mutants of the Onyx pack. Before the mutants were able to harm Shay too bad, Travis Hunter (former alpha of the Hunter Ridge pack) leaped to the rescue - literally. Shortly after they get back to his cabin and she is healed, her first heat cycle slams into her. Unable to deny his attraction and hoping it is more than her heat cycle, Travis doesn't resist when she attacks him. He knows he has met his true mate, but the next morning she is still unsure.
Run along with Shay and Travis as they try to protect Ashwood Falls. Meet Travis' daughter Josie. Will Shay claim Travis as hers? Her tiger accepted him right away, but will she? Will her over protective father and brothers? Ashwood Falls already has 2 alphas, will Travis fit in? Give this book a try and you will find out!
Favorite quote: "You don't love me. You don't even know me. How can you just accept it?"
Lovely story! I really enjoyed the fact that this one started in force, with action and it never slow down until the end!
Shayna is the adopted daughter of the Alpha: she's loved, cherished and over protected, but Shayna is a determined and independent woman. She wants to live her life and do it her way. As stubborn as she is, she was caught up with the enemy and would have barely survived the encounter if it was not of Travis Hunter who came to her rescue.
Travis was the Alpha of his last pack, but it was attacked by the Onyx pack and Travis lost almost everything that day. Now, the only thing Travis wants is revenge for his lost.
Shayna and Travis have felt this attraction as soon as she recovered from her attack, but life isn't easy for them on different matters. They want to lose themselves in their growing relation but Shayna isn't only the princess of her pack, she has secrets that might drive back Travis!
Yes, there was action and the story itself was fast-paced. I love when the author knows how to get a grip on me and Lia Davis has just done that with the plot, the characters and the awesome universe she created with mixed shifters!
Page Turner: Yes!
Series: Yes, (Ashwood Falls #1)
Stand Alone: Yes, but you might want to read the sequel!
Hotness: Travis is my kind of alpha male! :)
Proserpine Recommendation: It was my first attempt at a novel from the author Lia Davis and I wasn't disappointed, I recommend this title to every Paranormal Romance Lovers especially if you are a shifters fans!
This was an enjoyable paranormal (shifter) romance with some steamy scenes, faceted characters, and quick moving plot. I wasn't really expecting the book to pull me in and capture my attention and make me like the characters so quickly and completely! Little Josie is adorable and I loved how Shay instantly bonded with her.
I liked how it was instant action from the first page and how the reader can immediately sympathize with Shay - she's not a whiny, weak protagonist. She is a shifter after all! But, it still highlight the fact that no matter what, males will usually dominate over females in strength. Enter Travis to save Shay and help her recover from her injuries.
I liked the interactions between all of the characters: Shay & Travis, Shay & Travis' mother and daughter, the leopard/wolf pack, Shay's family. Shay's overprotective brothers are a hoot as you practically feel them glaring at Travis and grinding their teeth.
I totally thought Luna & her son were going to be sinister because of the exchanged looks, etc., but I was happy to read on and see what that was all about. Travis melds seamlessly into the fold of the combined pack and I can only imagine that future books in this series will deal with the Rogues and stomping them!
Definitely will want to read more in the series! The author has so many more ways to go with storylines with so many pack members!
A Tiger's Claim is book one in the Ashwood Falls series however there is a book 0.5, Winter Eve, and I while not necessary I would recommend reading it before A Tiger's Claim.
Lia Davis creates a unique world in which the wolf shifters and the leopard shifters have united as one pack to defend themselves from a rouge pack. In this world Shayna Andrews is the adopted daughter of the pack Alpha. She has always been treated as a princess and she is finding it smothering. When she gets upset and takes a long run she finds herself in a bad situation being attacked by the enemy. Enter our hero Travis Hunter, Travis was the alpha of a pack that was destroyed by the rouge pack. He just wants to protect his family. When he does a good deed and helps Shayna he gets a lot more than he bargained for when she turns out to be his true mate.
Ms. Davis gives us action, mystery, love and mating sex, it is a griping story line with plenty of secondary characters that are as fascinating as the main hero and heroine. The dynamics of the mixed pack, an adopted shifter of another breed, the former alpha of a decimated pack along with family dynamics, new relationship dynamics and hiding the secret of shifters from the world all works into a very enjoyable read that will leave you ready for the next in the series.
I truly enjoyed this book! Shayna is an alpha's only daughter, really adopted daughter! Between he father and brothers she is very overprotective to a point she feels smothered! They all know her every move at all times! After a fight with her father she runs away but encounters members of the Onyx pack, they want her for her powers to help destroy all the other packs! Travis Hunter happens to be near by, who happens to be hunting for the Onyx pack because they killed off all his pack except his mother and daughter! He manages to save Shayna but not before she is fatally injured! After spending time with Shayna he discovers she is he is true mate, the problem lies in the fact Shayna wants freedom not commitment and especially to an alpha male! They find out his daughter is deathly ill, make it to Shayna's Pack safely and help defeat the Onyx Pack before they defeat them all while saving his daughter and working through a relationship! This book took twist and turns I never saw coming! It was wonderfully written and kept you turning page after to find out what was going to happen next! I can't wait for more in this series!
Shay caught my attention in Winter Eve and I was hoping that she would get her own story. Shay and Travis were so cute together especially with Josie. I liked how Travis instantly knew that Shay was his mate but it took Shay a little longer to accept it. I also liked how easily Shay and Josie formed a bond together. It was so funny how afraid Shay was of introducing Travis to Keegan and Blaine.
A Tigers' claim was a good read and even though I enjoyed it, I had trouble connecting with the characters (except for Blaine and Cam) in the way that I wanted to. I didn't feel like they drew me into the story enough. I liked them and was interested in their HEA but wasn't in LOVE with them like I wanted to be. I am hoping that changes in Cam and Blaine's book. I cannot wait to read their story.
Omg!! Winter Eve was an awesome beginning to Ashwood Falls series, but A Tiger's Claim is flipping Fabulous!! I couldn't put the book down! Shay, a white tiger shifter that was adopted into the Ashwood pack was a late bloomer who has magical abilities and to top that off the princess to her pack. Travis an alpha to the once Hunter wolf pack hunts down the savages who destroyed his pack, his family. All he has left is his daughter and mother. Shay and Travis' paths collide when she is brutally attacked by the same beasts who destroyed his life. After Travis rescues Shay things heat up. Creating feelings in both of them they never felt before. Wow, Lia you're my hero!! I can't wait to read the next book in this riveting series!! If you love anything to do with shifters you'll fall in love with this series and never want it to end!!!
Furious with her adopted father, Shayna Andrews storms out into the forest needing to unwind, only to find herself attacked by rogues who are after her. Travis Hunter already lost his pack to the rogues and when he sees them attacking Shayna, his retaliation is swift, protecting her at the same time.
Time is not on their side though when Shayna begins her first heat cycle causing Travis to help her through, he realizes immediately that she is his true mate and now has to convince the rare white tiger princess that they belong together. As threats increase against Shayna, Travis has to prove to Shayna's family that he is capable of being her mate.
I liked this one, it was interesting with the tiger/were romance. I liked that there is a whole story continuing to develop with rogue wolfs in the midst. Can't wait to read the next one.
Winter Eve: This was very short novella that was enjoyable but like I said "to short"! I would have loved more on Nevan & Danica. They had great chemistry and the characters are very interesting but they meet and say I love you the next day. I know they are shifters and have true mates so intsa-love is acceptable but at least a little build up would be nice.
A Tiger's Claim: This story was much better in the build up department. Travis & Shayna have baggage but they come together and fight for what they love. These characters have a ton of chemistry. Their story is sweet with an Alpha Dad & a strong female.
The narration was good. I like that her male voices are just a little lower toned instead up unrealistically deep for a women's voice.
If you are an admirer of paranormal romances that feature shape-shifters then you’ll enjoy this explosive tale. Shay and Travis’s romance starts with an explicit sexual encounter fueled initially by her first heat -- then dangerous enemies, thriving passions, and family dynamics make things increasingly complicated.
Lia Davis’s writing style brings her characters to life…dialogue and vivid descriptions make every scene seem realistic. The cover is a great representation of the story. Another great visit to Ashwood Falls!

I started by reading Winter Eve and got to know a lot of the characters in the series. At least a little about them and then dove right into A Tiger’s Claim because I just had to know more about this community! Lia is amazing at writing about shifters and tells a great story! My first thought was “Wow! I have never read a cat/wolf shifter love story and this was fabulous!” I fell in love with Shayna and Travis!
I can’t wait to read A Mating Dance when it comes out! I am really anticipating the next story!!
We here at Bookish Babbles give A Tiger’s Claim 5 HOOTS
Lia pens "A Tiger's Claim", a paranormal romance filled with shifters, magick and some steamy scenes thrown in and it picks up right where the first book "Winter Eve" left off. As usual Lia brought her characters to life but I do recommend that you read the first book in the 'Ashwood Falls' series so your not to lost. Highly recommended for all who love the paranormal romance genre and shifters.
This review is based on a complimentary copy from the author which was provided for an honest review.
A fabulous first book to kick-off the series of Ashwood Falls and to follow up the prequel, Winter's Eve. A Tiger's claim will set author Lia Davis on the road to becoming one of the rising stars of Shifter Romance. The beautiful cover will capture your eye, but when danger and passion collide, this powerfully gripping and sensually charged storyline will leave you breathless. I can't wait to see what Ms Davis has in store for us next.
unlike the first book in the series which was marketed at a novella, this one was marketed as a book, which it wasn't it again was a novella. It had some editing errors. Once again it held more write ups on other books written by this author or other authors with this publishing company. I don't buy books to find out more on other books I buy books to read..... Please stop advertising other books and concentrate on developing a well written, well rounded story for people to enjoy.
