Maureen Mary was born on 1945 at Port Macquarie, a popular seaside town on the Mid-North Coast of New South Wales, Australia, and is the youngest of four children. Her sister was the novelist Wendy Brennan (Emma Darcy). Her father was a country school teacher and brilliant sportsman. Her mother was a talented dressmaker. When Miranda was ten, her father was transferred to Gosford, another coastal town in the countryside, much closer to Sydney. After leaving her convent school, she briefly studied the cello before moving to Sydney, where she embraced the emerging world of computers. Her career as a programmer ended after she married, had three daughters and bought a small acreage in a semi-rural community. Following this, she attempted greyhound training, as well as horse and goat breeding, but was left dissatisfied.
Miranda yearned to find a creative career from which she could earn money. When her sister suggested writing romances, it seemed like a good idea. She could do it at home, and it might even be fun! It took a decade of trial and error before her first romance, After the Affair, was accepted and published. At that time, Miranda, her husband Tony, and her three daughters had moved back to the Central Coast, where they could enjoy the sun and the surf lifestyle once again. Not long into her writing career, Miranda committed herself to writing a six-book series entitled, The Hearts of Fire, with a deadline of just nine short months. Bravely, her husband left his executive position to stay home and support Miranda’s writing career. He learned to cook and to clean, two invaluable household skills. Numerous successful stories followed, each embodying Miranda’s trademark style: pacy and sexy rhythms; passionate, real-life characters; and enduring, memorable story lines. She has one credo when writing romances: Don’t bore the reader! Millions of fans world-wide agree she never does.
Miranda was the sister of the late author, Emma Darcy.
Re The Seduction Project - Miranda Lee does the HP version of What Not to Wear.
The h is a 25 yr old meek and mild librarian living with her widowed mother. The h's father was a womanizing spendthrift and died three years earlier, leaving the h's mother very embittered and smothering and the h is trying to pay off two mortgages.
The h has also been in love with the boy next door, now a successful entrepreneur, since she was a teenager adoring his nerdy geek self. But the boy next door H is all about interchangeable blonde arm candy with a lot of boudoir skillz in various locations.
He only pays attention to the h when he wants someone to either do a favor for him or stroke his ego when his arm candy bed bouncers aren't around. The h is finally starting to realize thus when the H shows up at her job on her birthday and it is clear that he has no clue at all, he only wanted to show off his new sports car.
The H is semi-guilted into taking the h out and it is clear that he thinks the h is a boring mouse - but the H does have nice manners and does do the generic gold chain gift thingy. The h decides that it is time to move on, but her co-worker tells her to get a makeover and give it one last shot.
So the h tells the H she is in love with an unavailable man, who is henceforth known as Mr. X, and the H is too dense to realize she is talking about him.
The h then gets the H to suggest how she should dress and how she should change her hair, she takes his advice and ends up looking stunning. The h also gets her mother to snap out of her angst and the H's mother hires the h's to do her housekeeping.
The H's mother doesn't like the H's current girlfriend - who claims that she and the H are on a break in a bid to get the H to marry her, cause his oversexed libido has a hard time being celibate for four weeks- and gives the h all kinds of advice on how to win the H.
(It was kinda tacky and boiled down to the h propositioning the H and then shag him all over the place.)
When the H offers the h's mother an interest free loan to pay off the dead father's debt, the h is relieved and the H asks her to be his date for a business dinner event.
The h makes the most of her opportunity, she has to act fast cause the H is supposed to be reconciling with his girlfriend the very next day. She dons some scanty underthings and a just short of Tart Advertising dress and then proceeds to flirt with every man other than the H, including his OM rival.
This drives the H nuts, cause the h explains that she is determined to get rid of her unrequited love and the best way to get over one man is to get on top of another one. This spurs the H to make his move and the Standard ML HP Purple Passion Unicorn Grooming License revocation is epic.
The H gets all cranky and calls the h a sex monster in the aftermath, cause the h's Majic Lurve Force Mojo has ruined him for his gold digger bimbo girlfriend. The h finally has enough of the H's hypocrisy and tells him off.
The H shows up a little while later and drags the h out, telling her he won't get back with his bimbo arm candy if the h gives him what he wants. There is a little show down with the blonde bimbo, bu the H quickly runs her off.
A lot of purple passion events ensue and the h makes the H work hard to win her, she never admits to him she is in love. Until the H proposes and at the engagement party her co-worker spills the beans that the H was the guy the h was in love with all along.
The H starts to get angry, but then the h's co-worker gives him a lecture and the H realizes that he was kinda a nematode in his prior treatment of the h. Plus the h has a lot more confidence now and she probably wouldn't be single for long.
So the H decides they are having kids ASAP, cause he figures nothing will convince the h he is sticking like the bond of a baby.
Nine months later, the h finally believes the H really loves her, as he is totally devoted through a long, painful delivery when she looks a total mess and he can't stop adoring her. The h and H are finally both secure in each other's love and can jet off into the sunset for another ML HP outing.
This one is pretty funny and the h was kinda pathetic, but she came back and got a backbone in a good way. The H isn't really the prize he thinks he is, but we can be happy the h is happy and it was a decent HEA.

It certainly grabbed my attention and kept it, but the pygmalion theme leaves a lot to be desired. Heroine has been in love with hero since they were children. But he is a "man slut" and only goes after gorgeous blond bombshells with legs to die for. Forget that they are mercenary B*#(#$, only after his money. He's only after getting laid and quickly tires of them. Heroine has been his friend, but he can't feel anything for her because she is overweight and a bit frumpy..
OF course, she loses weight, cuts her hair, dyes it red, buys new clothes and sets out to seduce him willing to have sex for one night, knowing next day he is going to back to his girlfriend. Though, this was well written and kept me engaged, the " I'll grab at any crumbs attitude" usually bugs me. Thus only the 3 star rating.
There were also a couple of things that didn't feel very credible to me from a man's point of view.
Lately all the books I read by miranda lee are icky with tacky characters. Manipulative , gold digging , cheating heroines. And even worse heroes. In this book . Our heroine is going to seduce the hero with the encouragement of his mother knowing he's in a relationship. Even if they were having a trial separation for a month . But don't worry , this didn't stop the hero from kissing our heroine and making a move when she had a makeover and showed some skin. Shallow much . Can't blame the other woman for not liking the heroine. What I can say. In the end they deserved each other. Two horrible people living a miserable life .
I really loved this book. It was a fairy tale come true. Not many fairy tales exist in the real world but some do and this book is a reminder to all of us that magic, the magic of love can happen. Despite our failings we can accomplish something so grand. I enjoyed reading every part of this book, falling in love with the characters and the emotions that impacted me as I read it. Five stars!
This is one of those Virgin Librarian gets a makeover and becomes a sexpot stories. Of course, the Virgin Sex blows the hero's mind so he knows it Twu Wub.
The hero is a bit of a selfish clod at the beginning to even out the heroine acting a bit selfish at the end.

3.5 Stars Plot Highlight A mousy librarian, running low on self-esteem and secretly pining for the hero turns into a sex-on-heels ravishing redhead. And does she make heads turn or what!? :D
******* What I liked ******* A few unexpected turns in the plot (whatever little there was of it). No unnecessary details added. It was kept Short and sweet! :)
******* What I missed ******* Probably a piece where she decides to give up on him for good (which she does several times) and actually sticks to her decision (which she somehow always convinced herself against ) even if just to save face wouldn't have hurt!
An epilogue where she does tell him about her so called Mr. X.
******* What I didn't like ******* How Liam switched from "Hey Buddy" to "Forever yours, with Love" in a blink and miss thing...
But even having said all this, it doesn't really take away much from the book. I would say its worth a read!
a nice oblivious guy who doesn’t notice h until she has a complete makeover and perpetuates bad eating habits in the h? not my thing.
maybe I could stomach it if the dude was an acknowledged dick originally and goes through a character transformation but this H’s normal nice guy behavior itself ain’t it for me.
i dislike the h too for changing herself completely for a man and finding her self worth from how a man sees her.
The Seduction Project starts out normal and gets a bit stupid. The heroine is madly in love with the hero and keeps oscillating between giving him up and seducing him. She has low self-confidence and her mother holds her back so she doesn't have the confidence to go after the hero.
The hero is presented as a selfish man who only thinks of the heroine when he wants something from her like a glowing review of his games or praise for his new car. But he slowly realises that he is being selfish and tries to be friends with her.
At this point though, the hero's mom and the heroine's mom both actively encourage her to go after the hero and she has set up a situation that makes the hero jealous and concerned for the heroine.
It all comes to a head when the hero invites the heroine to a work event and she uses it as an opportunity to seduce him. He gets seduced (despite having a girlfriend who is out of the city/country for a month and will come back that very next day) and decides he really likes her.
This is the entire book. The situation the heroine sets up is discovered in like the last two pages and quickly forgotten. So while it is an enjoyable read, it's not such a good story.
i wish that i could magically make myself over from what i am to a red-haired bombshell! then have my long-time-secret-love fall for me (not that i have a long-time-secret-love!). maybe i should have labelled this in a "fantasy" category
Al principio, parecía imposible que él se fijara en ella. El hecho que él tenga novia, "pero este separado" no me gustaba mucho y también que no pudiera saber que sentía realmente el protagonista, hace que valore el narrador omnisciente mucho mas.
This is a quick read that you can finish in an afternoon. I surround Molly and Liam. They're childhood friends and neighbors. Molly has always loved Liam while he never noticed her. She decides to get a makeover in order to catch his attention and it works.
I can't help the feeling that this story is mostly about playing some sort of game in order to get a significant other. Molly makes up a "Mister X" and play hard to get in order to catch Liam's attention. Even at the end of the book when he finds out of about her fib, he gets scolded when he's slightly angry. I can't say that the idea is wrong but it seems far too invested in the idea of it.
Both main characters have their own faults. Molly seems to undervalue herself way too much. Liam, on the other hand, is self-centered and friendzoned Molly. The problem is that he's somewhat of a bad friend. He forgets her birthday and never asks about what's going on with her while she is opposite. It's not hard to see why Molly undervalues herself. Liam does seem to grow, but most of it is off screen.
All in all, the book was OK.

The classic schoolgirl crush on the neighbours son. He thinks of her as his best friend until she lets him think she has a "Mr X". Make over time. As she has just turned 25 it is time to lose her virginity which he offers to help her with. Quite a funny story in some ways. Liam is a bit thick and has taken Molly for granted for too long.
Molly's 25 birthday day brought about a lot of emotions for changing her faith with Liam. She has been his best friend and loved him since being 12, but her mousy hair and figure never entitled her to be even seen by him as a woman! Not even as a tiny comparison with his glamorous and more than beautiful girlfriends! Therefore, she asked for advice to seduce him! And who better to know Liam's preferences in a girlfriend than Liam himself? Molly invented a non-existent X character whom she claimed to be in love with for a long time to make Liam help her seduce him!
This book didn't do it for me and the events weren't interesting. A mere OK read, but not much exciting.

I loved this book!! I loved the heroine! I don't exactly like the idea of changing something about yourself simply because of another man--however in this case, I somehow found it perfectly okay and it made me giddy how Liam started to notice her even more and even became jealous. I loved the jealousy he radiated!! It wasn't completely overwhelming and a jack-ass jealous thing that most authors make their male characters have, it was the perfect amount. I loved this book and I enjoy reading it over and over again.
It was an okay read. Yes, I admit the writing, pacing, & sexual tension were good, but I guess I was expecting something different. I admit I liked the ugly-duckling-turned-into-a-beautiful-swan kind of story, but in this case, it just made the heroine looked pitiful. And the hero's love for the heroine was not that convincing. There's no way he fell in love with her that quickly; I mean, they've been friends for years, and he only treated her as a friend and didn't find her attractive. And then suddenly he fell in love?
Hero was not to my liking at all. The herione was in a big pity party. I really never felt their love or his change if affection for the herione. The Hero was confusing I think the attempt to make him super smart nerd caused this. Some of the plot line was cute but never really florished. When a herione makes a change in a book I want her to find her true self. Then go after what she wants. This Herione changes for the hero, yet never did I feel she gained anything from it. Except a man who could only see window dressing.
When Molly McCrae transformed herself into a striking redhead, population of Sydney stood up and took notice! But her make-over was for Liam Delaney only. Sure, he showed an interest in the new-look Molly, but not in the way she wanted. He was over-protective - even a little jealous - but it seemed that a relationship with her couldn't be further from his mind.It was time for an ultimatum. If Liam didn't want Molly to lose her virginity to another admirer, then he would have to make love to her himself! (
