Rocking around the Swiss Alps 🎶

We are back for another love in the alps.
Love me a little age gap 24/34
She’s the boss daughter/ he’s higher up then her/boss
Forced proximity : aka one chalet
Enemies to lovers vibes
An agreement…

Kathryn Coins writing always gives me 2000s rom com feels.
And this was festive 🎄

I was not expecting a Tom book! 🤣
But Tom and Scottie were pleasantly matched.

Another Kathryn Coin book, another reason to fall in love with the Swiss Alps!

I absolutely loved going back to the holiday vibes with this book. The Swiss Alps are such a beautiful setting for these stories, and somehow I keep falling in love with the setting just as much as I do with the characters.

The Chalet Agreement was another beauty! I loved seeing a whole new set of characters, the character development, and the AMAZING amount of tension and spice. Kathryn really knows how to keep me invested in a romance!

And Scottie?! Who doesn't love a girl who goes snowboarding with her cat?! I absolutely loved her vibes and had such a good time getting to know her.

Something else I really appreciate about Kathryn's books is how she incorporates real-life struggles, like anxiety, into her stories. These topics add another layer to the characters and make their experiences feel more relatable. I love how thoughtfully she writes about them.

Another wonderful read that gave me holiday vibes, a romance to get invested in, and characters I loved spending time with.

Kathryn Coin, you did it again!

✨ARC REVIEW✨

⭐️: 5
🌶️: 3

💭: You’re going to want to add this one to your holiday TBR IMMEDIATELY because Kathryn Coin has done it again!!! 🏔️🎿

Last year, she whisked us away to Switzerland, and this year we’re headed right back. But this time? It’s all about Scottie Pugh and Tom Bedford. And OH, what a time these two gave us!!!

To say these two can’t stand each other would be putting it mildly. But you know what comes with that level of mutual hatred? ELITE banter. And when the heat goes out in Tom’s chalet, he’s forced to shack up with Scottie. Let’s just hope the only thing going up in flames is their mutual hatred and not Scottie’s entire chalet. 🥵

One thing about Kathryn? She KNOWS how to keep me flipping pages. I swear I can never read her books fast enough. No self-control. NONE.

And this one? CHOCK-FULL of my favorite tropes and microtropes. Slutty little glasses (IYKYK), a nickname that had me MELTING, forced proximity, an age gap, and CHRISTMAS GAMES!!! What more could a girl need?!

Consider this your official warning to clear your schedule and add this one to your holiday TBR. And if you haven’t read book one, AMLALA, add that too. You can thank me later. 😘

And on a slightly more personal note… 🥹

When I started sharing my love of books in this little corner of the internet, I never imagined how much it would give back to me. It’s become a space where I can be creative, enthusiastic, emotional, and unapologetically passionate about the stories and authors I love.

But to have an author whose work I admire trust me with something as personal as beta reading her story before the rest of the world gets to read it? That’s something I’ll never take for granted.

And then to open a book I love and see my name in the acknowledgments? Yeah, that one got me. 🥹♥️

It’s a tangible reminder of just how special this little bookish community can be. What started as simply sharing my love of reading has turned into connections and experiences I never could have imagined.

And I’m just really, really grateful to be here. ♥️

Thank you, Kathryn Coin, for the ARC of The Chalet Agreement. Publication Date: October 27th, 2026.

If you are looking for a delightful kickoff for your holiday reading, you can’t go wrong with a Kathryn Coin book. It brought in the holiday mood without an oversaturation of holiday tropes. Plus, who doesn’t love a little ‘rivals to enemies’ with a pinch of forced proximity around the holiday season? Especially if it’s forced proximity for Scottie and Tom in a chalet in SWITZERLAND! This book, while on the short side, will still have you rooting for Scottie to find her voice and her courage and for Tom to figure out how great she actually is.

I have read Coin’s Coast to Coast series and also her newest book (One Reckless Moment), and I have enjoyed them all. Those books take a little time to develop the characters and stories, but I still really enjoyed her holiday novel as well.

I am upset I didn’t stop to read A Merry Little Alpine Love Affair first though–but I may go back for Claire and Declan’s story soon.

Kathryn Coin is definitely an author to check out if you have not yet. My suggestion–start with the Coast to Coast series.

Another great holiday love story. Except this one is in Switzerland at Christmas ⛄. I lived this romance. The characters were so good. If you follow my reviews intend to like me more than fc. And Tommy boy as sarcastictly dubbed as the fc called him was not a disappointment. He truly is everything I read romance for. His character is a good guy! In a world full of hate the guys it's refreshing to read about a good guy. Truly he's what his mom raised him to be. Now he's not the good guy until he's boring. He's a good guy who looks out for the people he cares about.
Scottie is a good fc with lots of baggage. You think she has the rich girl blues. She does not. She's harned by the rich girl blues attitude and wants to be a normal hard working overachiever like so many fc in romance reads. Her sarcasm is off the charts. Her love for her cat well is let's say unique. The cat at times was the mc. She travels to Switzerland with Scottie and has the time of her life. Even skis.
So if you enjoy holiday romance I can tell you this book is for you.

Thank you to Kathryn for the opportunity to read this book! I absolutely loved this! its a. lot of fun to read! It has forced proximity of rivals who have worked together but hated each other. She's the bosses daughter who has to fight against coworkers that say she has been given everything that she's actually worked for. He's her boss that she works under. Things get hilarious when his chalet has broken heat and her father says he must stay with her in her chalet.

With quotes like;

1. 'The girl was five foot four and looked like an angry gremlin.'
2. "I spun to find Tom sitting on the couch. In case the man wasn't fucking hot enough, he was lounging in joggers and slutty little reading glasses, holding a book.'

You can't help but laugh your way through.

ARC REVIEW:

I fear this is a classic case of “right book, wrong time” because I really do love Kathryn and I have loved every single book of hers with zero complaints.

I just don’t know what it was about this book that I didn’t care for? Did it feel a little insta-lovey? Was I just not in the holiday mood yet? Did I think the characters didn’t have that much chemistry? I’m honestly not sure.

I am kind of sad that I didn’t enjoy this book more, because the potential was there, I just wasn’t vibing.

My thoughts:
The Chalet Agreement is an enemies-to-lovers story and forced proximity story about two individuals that work together but, really do not like each other much at all!!!!
It doesn’t help that one of them is related to the boss.
Let the sparks ⚡️ fly!!!
Are you looking for a holiday story to start your holiday season off with a bang? This is the book you need to add to your tbr list.
