All Andrew Davis has dreamed about is making it to the pros in soccer and he is able to play at the college his parents attended. He is laser-focused on maintaining good grades along with a grueling practice schedule. The son of Hannah and Michael Davis from Making New Friends, Andrew knows what he wants, and nothing will stop him from achieving it.

Danielle Smith doesn’t know how her parents were able to scrape enough money to help her go to college, but they did. Her passion for animals has her pursuing a business degree in order to open her own animal sanctuary for abandoned or abused pets, and she dreams of living in a place where her parents can move and retire.

A chance encounter brings Andrew and Danielle together and they realize that they have most of their classes together. They both struggle against the magnetic pull drawing them together, determined to be just friends.

About the author

Liz Hamilton lives with her husband in North Georgia. Having spent most of her life growing up in Texas, she was able to use her experience of living there to help in writing this series of books. She has two children, Hannah and Caleb. She has two dogs, Walter and Chloe. Balancing a full time teaching position as a middle school Language Arts teacher, she was able to use her passion for writing to publish her first book and she hopes to make this a second career when she retires from education. Her hobbies include reading, cooking, walking her dogs and traveling with her family. She published her first book, "Making New Friends" in October of 2024, Life Lessons in Spring of 2025, and Daring to Dream in July of 2025. She is working on book 4 in the series, "Open to Opportunities."
