Pandemic Sorrow Boxset 1

Rate this book
Three-in-one rocker boxset.

Sex, drugs, and rock and roll. The life of a rocker is gritty, and for the boys of Pandemic Sorrow, it's exhausting. Their existence is one of sleepless nights, binges with drugs, and the daunting task of pleasing women...lots and lots of women. Life is one endless party, and for both Jag and Rush, it's a path of utter self-destruction.

Warning: Jag and Rush are from a male point of view, and are very...male. They are vulgar and explicit and may have to work their way through a few fans before they find a woman who can tame these rocker's inner whore. All books contain explicit language and sexual situations.

This series was way more than I could have expected. I don't think I've ever met characters so broken. Jag's story was filled with so much pain it literally shattered me. Rush's story was much different than Jag's yet so similar. Where Jag tried to numb life, Rush tried anything and everything to just feel something. Stevie J Cole gives fair warning. These novels do describe lots of drug use...but that's what made the stories so real for me. It may not be for everyone, but these characters would not have been so amazing or their HEAs would not have been as fulfilling without experiencing their struggles along with them.

Roxy's story exhibits a lot of strength for having grown up around drug abusers which made her the perfect person to help Jag find his way. Her story gives more of her background for those that want to understand her better. Personally, I feel the author did an amazing job in bringing so much life to her in the first book, that I totally understood her and where she was coming from. I adored her tough facade and completely related to her lack of desire to be around people, her preference to isolation.

Grab all three in the series for the price of one!

JAG -
Book one follows the life of Rock god Jag Steele the lead singer of Pandemic Sorrow. Fame can can change you, it can taint your soul. That is exactly what happens to Jag.

For me it was hard to read Jag's story, with the excessive drug use I often wondered how was this guy still alive? When the world is watching you, girls throwing themselves at you, and a record label throwing drugs down your throat how would anyone handle that?

my heart broke for him and I was rooting for him to concur his demons. It was raw and felt real and it was an eye opening read.

Rush -
Book two follows the life of Rush the bassist in Pandemic Sorrow. If there is a stronger word to describe rush other than Manwhore i would use it.

Rush and Jules the manager to the guys have a hot an cold relationship. She can't be with a guy like him, yet can't help but want him.

Rush is a sex addict and I liked the idea of him and Jules, but of course the road for them is going to be bumpy. I felt it was a good read and am please with how it ended.

Roxy -
We met Roxy in book one. I loved that she was such a bitch to Jag. He needed someone to put him in his place, and hold him accountable for his actions.

Not going to lie, at first I was concerned about this book because I thought we would get a lot of repeats from the first book, but I was wrong. Not only did I love to see things from Roxy's POV, but I loved hearing her story and struggles. Also seeing her struggles with Jag was heart breaking at times and I really felt for her.

all three books I would give 4 stars.

This is a review for all three books

Jag

This was a great look at almost the downfalls at being a rockstar and how the pressures just get to you.

I had mixed feelings about Jag as I did really like him but I hated how dependent he was on drugs and that lifestyle. Part of him wanted to quit but he felt like he couldn't perform without being high and part of me really thought he was definitely going to end up dead in the book.

In the conversations with Roxy we got to know a different side of Jag and that was the one that I really wanted to succeed and beat all the pressures against him. I absolutely hated James, the manager, and I really wanted them to figure out how to get him out of their lives as he was just in everything for the money.

Roxy was absolutely awesome and I loved the feistiness that she had. She had a rough upbringing and knew the devastation that drugs could do on a family. She wanted Jag to get himself clean but also knew it wasn't going to be easy. She tried to remain true to herself but knew the battle she was going to have.

I really wasn't expecting the twist with Stephanie!! Total shocker!

There were a few twists and turns that I wasn't expecting and it was definitely interesting to see the dynamics within the band and how certain members truly didn't care for other ones.

Definitely looking forward to more in this series!

Rush

This was another great book in this series. I liked that we got to see another side of Rush a little in this one but it was definitely an eye-opener to see what his life was like.

Rush is addicted to sex and it was ironic to see him dealing with an STD and some other things. It was interesting how James was able to exploit every little thing to his advantage to stay in control of the band and how he truly wanted them as bad boys.

There was a different side of Rush that we got to see at the hospital and I think that allowed him to see a different side of himself. I loved the bond between him and Cody Williams and at the end that helped Rush see his own possibilities.

Jules was torn between her job and Rush. She hated seeing how drugs and sex were destroying Rush but was powerless to stop him. She tried to keep all the band members safe but knew that James didn't want the members clean or in relationships as it could hurt the bands popularity. The lies that James told were huge and I felt bad for Jules being put in such bad positions.

There was a lot of chemistry between Jules and Rush and Jules has seen Rush at his lowest points and had to clean up after some of his messes. Yet she also saw the good parts of him which kept bringing her back to him.

I'm interested in reading what happens next with the band and hopefully we can learn more about Stone soon!

Roxy

I honestly was not expecting this book to be the next book in the series. I was expecting a book about Stone and not one from Roxy's perspective. I liked reading things from her side although the book is very close to the book Jag.

Roxy hates drugs and I was so happy that it looked like Jag was going to overcome his demons for her. I think this book showed that Roxy was so torn with her love for Jag and his addiction. When Roxy learned the truth about what really happened in Georgia it made her rethink everything.

Roxy had a huge enemy and battle with James, the manager. James was going to do whatever he could to split up Roxy and Jag as he made money off of Jag and his downfalls. He leaked whatever he could to the press in order to cause conflict betweem them.

I was shocked at the interaction between Roxy and her dad and blown away by why he came back and how little he knew about everything that had happened.

I really liked the ending though and how Jag decided what to do. I still really hope that there is a book about Stone!!

JAG

4.5 stars.

Jagger Steele is the lead singer for popular rock band Pandemic Sorrow. He's a womanising man whore, the king of one night stands. Going from wanna-be to popular rock star playing sell out concerts, Jagger finds himself turning to drugs to help him cope. What starts out as something to get him through a show, soon becomes the one thing that everything else revolves around. He's not a very likeable guy when he's using. He's selfish, rude and an asshole but when he's clean he's so very loveable. He's frustrating because he is a nice guy and you can sympathise with him but at the same time you want to smack him round the head with a baseball bat til he sees sense.

Roxy gets dragged to one of Pandemic Sorrow's concerts with her sister. She's the complete opposite of what Jagger is used to and he's determined to win her over. Roxy has her own demons that she's fighting and even though she knows it's not going to end well she can't seem to stay away. I really liked Roxy. She's stroppy, not a walk over and trying so desperately not to end up hurt. She's just a girl trying to get on with her life. She's very easy to relate to. Most of us have been where she is, attracted to the wrong kind of man but been unable to stay away.

This book deals with addiction. It deals with the highs and lows, the temptation to go back there, the relapses, the emotions, the guilt. It's not hearts and flowers but it is real and that was my favourite thing about this book. Stevie J Cole doesn't sugar coat or glamourise Jagger's addiction and I loved that.

RUSH

5 stars

Wow. These Pandemic Sorrow boys really do know how to make me feel torn. On one hand I really want to love them but on the other, they do insist on repeatedly messing everything up and that in turns makes me hate them....And then they do something that makes me go awwww and I'm back to thinking they're maybe not that bad.

I found Rush a lot easier to like and connect with compared to the other characters. Even though he's a whore, rude and at times disgusting, I still loved him. Once you get past his rockstar persona and see how he really feels about Jules, he's surprisingly easy to like.

Assistant manager of the group Jules has her work cut out trying to control the boys. Fighting her attraction towards Rush, she knows deep down that anything between them won't end well. I loved Jules. I completely got where she was coming from.

ROXY

4.5 stars.

Finally we get a deeper insight into Roxy before, during and after Jax came into her life. Although we met Jax's book, this is more than just a rehash of Jags story. This book has a desperate, heartbreaking feel to it, and even though Roxy has been dealt blow after blow, this book shows you just how strong a woman she is.

Poor Roxy really hasn't had the best upbringing and finding out more about her past helped understand why she reacts why she does and why she won't let anyone close to her except her sister. She comes across as a bitch at times but it's more about protecting herself rather than been bitchy just for the sake of it.

I enjoyed this book. I've always liked Roxy and seeing things from her POV and getting into her head a bit more made me like her even more than before. The last few chapters killed me. The anxiety, the suspense of what Roxy and Jax was going to do next and the ongoing struggle with addiction was once again put across perfectly.

Jag 4

Rush has fallen into fame as the lead singer. He's definitely your typical rocker. Rush is an arrogant asshole to say the least. Jag has it all. Addicted to booze drugs and women just fall to his feet. This has self destruction written all over it. But when Jag meets a bartender named Roxy, his socks are knocked off! They play a game of cat and mouse. Who's going to fold? Will Roxy resist Jag or will they both self destruct? This story is filled with sadness and will make you so mad, but then there are times that it will have you laughing. Stevie has written a story about rock roll and includes all of the behind the scene acton!

Rush 3.50

This is told in Rush's POV and he has fallen into fame just as quickly has his band mates. He's been following in their footsteps of booze, drugs, and the ladies. He doesn't believe in love. He's living the dream. But when faced with some life altering situations, he begins to realize he might need to change his ways. Jules is the manager of the band and she doesn't mix business with pleasure. But one night changes it all for this pair. There were times I wanted to throat punch him, but then he would turn around and do the most amazing charity work and has you changing your mind. Rush and Jules have been fighting their attraction but can they? Will it get in the way of there jobs?

Roxy 3

Roxy hasn't had the easiest life. Her home life consisted of alcohol and drug abuse. She became so aware of the destruction, she vowed never to get involved with that type of behavior again. Once Jag walks into her life she fights it the best she can but will that be enough or will love take over will she fall into the path of destruction?

ERIN'S REVIEW

Jag
4 stars

This story took me on an incredible journey, following several different storylines that merge together to create an amazing book. Just when you think you know which direction the story is going to take, a twist comes along and throws your mind in a whirlwind, trying to figure out how you didn't see it coming. Jag and Roxy are wonderful, very well developed characters and you will find yourself hanging on every word of their story.

Roxy
4 stars
This was a wonderful story that had me on an emotional roller coaster. I loved the look back on Roxy's childhood and digging deeper into her unconventional upbringing. Roxy's character took me to a whole new appreciation for others and realizing you really never know where people came from. This book blew me away.

Rush
4 stars
Another incredible, emotional book in this series. Rush and Jules kept me hooked in their "will they won't they" relationship. I loved every minute of their story. The back and forth, the taunts and quips. These two had me crying one minute and laughing the next. I also loved how their story went back and followed the same timeline as Jag and Roxy. Allowed for their perspective on events that happened. Everyone could use a dose of these rockers!

Jag
3 stars

I enjoyed this book as a while but wasn't very impressed with Jag. He was just a total Arsehole and Had No Respect at for Roxy. When they did get it together it felt completely rushed to me and a bit too far fetched for me.

I would recommend this book as everyone see different things in every story.

Rush
3 stars

This book is much the same as the first book. Manwhore who uses women to cope with his demons. He then falls head over heels quickly for his manager who has been in front of him the whole time. After alot of craziness they sort things out. Which kind of pissed me off as I don't think I would have been as forgiven of I was Jules. But everyone of us is different.

Again I would say have a read and judge this for yourself.

Roxy
4 stars

This book is the book of the series for me and I am so glad that I carried in reading this series and not giving up. This book is real and heartbreakingly brilliant, there are no punches pulled with this book and that's what I think is great about it. The tension and drama is so real that you just get sucked right in to it.

This series although its a hard slog it completely worth the read.

This is not your typical rock star romance.
Intense, gritty and brutally raw story of rock star gods Jag and Rush of Pandemic Sorrow. Their love hate relationships, their secrets and their demons highlighted the ugly parts of rock stardom.
The characters were real, not pretty, not sugar coated and their pain and struggles were felt throughout the pages.
The writing was exciting and spot on. Some scenes were so intense and so emotional I had to pause and catch my, but I think I got hooked.

Want to go on an Epic and emotional ride?!? Yeah this is the book for you The Pandemic Sorrow Rock band is more than just, Sex, Drug and Rock Gods... Well yes, yes it is. But it is so much more than just that it is about a group of guys that got their dream of being famous, they just didn't know what they would lose in the process. For the most part Jag and Rush don't really want to face the reality of what fame has done to them not for them. It will take a wake up call for them both to see what their lives should really be and what they need to do to achieve it. For Jag it is finding his heart in the one person that sees him for the man he is and not the Rock Star most people see. Roxy has to find herself before she can give her heart completely to Jag but the fireworks that they create in their own stories will have you craving for more of them in Rush's story.
Rush now his issues are little more complicated to explain, sooo I am not gonna try. All I will say is that he is sexy and funny and that Dirty Mouth will have you in a haze.
All in all this series is funny, Heartwarming and Heartbreaking and sexy as all hell. I felt like I was in the concert crowd surfing as I soared through the emotions of these three ~ Jag, Roxy and Rush. Best Feeling Ever!!!

Binge reading at it's finest! An outstanding series with raw, real addictions. Jag, Stone, Rush and Pax have finally made it big. They're rock stars! Will fame and fortune be enough for Jag and Rush or will the industry suck the life out of them. Will Jules and Roxy have the strength to love these men without losing themselves?

love Stevie J. Cole and the Pandemic Sorrow Band. I haven't read to many Rockstar Romance because i am not a huge fan. There's just something about them that some i find not so truthful. And what i mean is it doesn't delve into the Rockstar life. The damaged souls that are Rockstars, the make it or break it, the how and when they got hooked, that type of thing. Now with that being said I LOVE LOVE LOVE this series. It has lost souls and a man so evil he could be the Devil's Nephew.
Jag is such a lost soul. His dad left only to have him shut out everyone with the fear that people leave. Then a situation happens when he starts to make it big only to have the Devil's Nephew come in with temptation. He is at the top of the charts when he meets Roxy. A woman who won't give him the time of day. Yes, i loved her instantly. She isn't the typical fall at your feet woman for a Rockstar. Let me tell you that Roxy is smart, sassy, troubled, and wants nothing to do with Jag. Really you can't blame the girl. With all the drama they had to deal with, not only within their relationship but also themselves i am surprised they are not in a dark corner by themselves. This one alone has so many twists and turns that my heart couldn't take anymore. I was on such a rollercoaster of emotions that i still feel like i haven't gotten off it.
Rush another member of the band is well your typical Rockstar. In Jag he rubbed me the wrong way. I knew there was something about him that i didn't care for. But he kind of grew on me especially when i saw that there was another side of him that he doesn't show many people. Now Jules she is a woman that can change a man. I loved her more so than Roxy. She just made her way into my heart. Now this one is packed full of drama. I feel like Rush and Jules would make 10 moves forward on their relationship only to have 20 curveballs thrown at them by life. I started to love Rush but only because of the huge character development he showed.
Roxy is her side of the story from Jag. I loved seeing her side of the story. It brought back all the emotions i felt from Jag. I still absolutely love her. I was still on the emotional high from Jag and Rush that Roxy sent me over the edge that i am in a book coma. My emotions are fried.
Now the Devil's Nephew, i won't give anything away on him, but i will say he is suppose to helping the band. Trust me when you read this book you will know instantly who i am talking about.
This book is worth more than just 5 stars.
