Erika Killen is a Los Angeles–based author of historical fiction, supernatural mysteries, fantasy, and slow-burn romance. Her novels are inspired by a lifelong fascination with history, folklore, forgotten places, and the possibility that the world holds far more mysteries than we understand.
Raised by a college professor of American history, Erika developed an early passion for historical research and genealogy. Her travels through small towns, old cemeteries, abandoned nineteenth-century homes, and historic properties have provided inspiration for many of her stories.
Her creative career began as a makeup artist in film and television. She later wrote multiple screenplays with her longtime friend and writing partner, Amber Tabangay, eventually adapting one into their first coauthored novel, *On River's Edge*. Erika also spent many years as a professional portrait and wedding photographer, and her digital artwork and creative articles have appeared in multiple print magazines.
Although she began publishing her own novels in 2026, many of the stories had been taking shape for more than a decade. Her solo debut, *The Lost Daughter of Rathmore*, marked the beginning of a long-awaited writing career.
Her fiction includes the centuries-old supernatural world of *The Learmonth Series*, the mysteries of small-town America in *The Fallow County Novels*, and the extraordinary worlds of *The Impossible Theatre Series*.
Erika lives in Los Angeles with her seven parrots and Buster, a red-eared slider turtle.
