As a four year old girl, Liz Wiehl witnesses a shooting of a civil rights leader/activist during a rally. Her father is with her at the time, as well as another little girl who is black. A black man is accused of the crime, but he is innocent, but sent to prison for 20 years. When she is older, she is an investigative reporter and uncovers the real killer, who was part of a segregationist who did not want this civil rights leader to live. The black man is exonerated.
