This book is amazing! Its not a story, its not about characters. Its about the way that the Swedish people have lost (or maybe not lost?) their religion. Its written by professor David Thurfjell who studies religion and how people relates to religion in different contexts.
Its well written and brings up many good points and views and makes you understand what can be factors to why Sweden seems like the world most secularised country. What i found out, tho, is that in facts its not! Read this book of you are interested in religion and Sweden :)

Extensive explanations, maybe too much.

At some point, it just feels the author is excusing all the excuses, falacies, and theories for rejecting God.

All in all, decent explanations, but I found unnecessary the interviews to people that have not even given a thought about theism or the existence of Godat all.

3 stjärnor för att den är packad med information, -2 för att den är så torr (och jag gillar ämnet! Läser religionsvetenskap) att det tog mig 7 månader att ta mig igenom den (det hade blivit längre om jag inte tvingat mig själv de senaste veckorna att avsluta den samt hoppat över ett kapitel). Det saknas helt enkelt något i upplägget som gör informationen intressant och levande.

Mycket intressant och läsvärd bok, men fick ta den i små portioner då den är skriven som en akademisk avhandling snarare än som en "vanlig" fackbok. Rekommenderas till alla som är intresserade av religion och religionskritik och alldeles särskilt till ateister som gärna debatterar religion.

Intressant. Thurfjell griper sig an ämnet sekularisering från en annan synvinkel än Magnus Malm.
