Illicit Night with the Greek by Susanna Carr is the 15th book in the One Night with Consequences Series.
This was an emotionally moving and touchingly heartbreaking story.
Stergios Antoniou and his stepsister, Jodie Little share a very sad and heart rending past and meeting up again after not seeing each other for many years, brings the feelings they have for each other to surface again.
I detested Stergios at first – his behavior towards Jodie was so ruthless and despicable and abusive. How cold and heartless he was………… And how my heart cried for Jodie………..
One of the things I liked about Jodie was that despite not ever having a loving family, she never gave up of finding and making one for herself.
What made this story believable for me was the complexity and build-up of the plot and the character development. Stergios and Jodie will have to overcome a lot of past and present issues before they are able to finding true happiness together……
A good addition to this series.

I detested Stergios at first – his behavior towards Jodie was so ruthless and despicable and abusive. How cold and heartless he was………… And how my heart cried for Jodie………..
“I trusted you but you took advantage of the love I have for you.” More tears spilled over her lashes. “You know my history. You know how miserable I was having no family connection, hating how I was forgotten and invisible. And yet you did the same to me as my parents.” – JodieHer uncaring parents – I shudder to think that anyone could ever have a father and mother like hers…….. who never showed or given her any love in her life……and all she wanted was to be part of a loving family. Heart- totally-breaking.
One of the things I liked about Jodie was that despite not ever having a loving family, she never gave up of finding and making one for herself.

I waffled between two and three stars. This is a weak three because the author really brought the intensity, but it was so dark that I really couldn’t believe in an HEA for these characters and I felt more depressed than happy after reading it.
This a step-sibling romance. Heroine’s father, a penniless gigilo type, is married to the Greek hero’s mother who has a lot of money and terrible taste in men. When the hero was a child, the hero’s father kidnapped him during a custody fight and was on the run for two years. To say the H/h are damaged is an understatement.
The heroine was rejected her entire life – first from her mother who was more interested in making money and then from her father who was more interested in keeping his wealthy second wife happy. She was dumped in a series of boarding schools where she acted out to get their attention.
The heroine has been an outsider her whole life and was treated as such in the hero’s family who are tight-knit and paranoid because of the kidnapping. When the heroine was 18 and a virgin, the hero’s cousin tried to rape her. The hero rescued her only to have sex with her himself. She was sent away. The hero looked for her, but gave up when he saw her in a dalliance in a tabloid.
When the story opens the heroine is 23 and trying to get to know her father again after her mother’s death. The hero’s cousin is getting married and the hero thinks she’s there to cause trouble. The cousin doesn’t want to marry for business and would like to have another chance with the heroine. The hero ends up kidnapping the heroine to his island so she won’t mess up the wedding.
It is in the dark, during a storm, that the H/h reveal their backstories and have rough sex. The next day the heroine tells the hero she is pregnant by another man and after some verbal abuse by the hero, they go their separate ways.
The heroine really is pregnant and has no intention of telling the hero. He is on the brink of contracting an engagement for business purposes and the heroine is trying not mess up his life. She accepts her father’s invitation for Christmas with the pit of vipers that is the hero’s family and of course sees the hero and the rapey cousin and the horrible stepmother.
Dithering about marrying, worries about the heroine being kidnapped, and finally a wedding round out the story. There was a less-than-convincing epilogue five years later where the heroine is in the garden blissfully happy thinking about what wonderful grandparents her father and stepmother are.
Pull the other leg.
Seriously, these are horrible people. For example, at the beginning of the story, the hero taunts the heroine that her father is only agreeing to see her now that she has inherited her mother’s fortune. This is never refuted either in word or deed. Her father is a complete waste of space. The hero’s mother calls her a whore and never takes it back.
The H/h were great at tearing each other apart. I really had a tough time with the heroine’s self-esteem problems and her self-sabotaging. The hero was paranoid, sour and verbally abusive. The cousin is always going to be rapey. There were a lot of scenes set in the dark, and while thematically appropriate, the symbolism colored the entire story so that ending felt desperate and hollow.
If you like darker romances with a lot of slut-shaming, you might like this one. It certainly keeps your attention.

1 Aw Hell Naw! Star
“After all…the great and virtuous Stergios Antoniou is supposed to be trustworthy and do what is right. He strives for excellence and discipline. Why, he would never have sex with a virgin without marrying her…He would never have sex with his eighteen-year-old stepsister, right? And then walk away without a backward glance.”
What is up with the step-sibling stories?! No people. Just NO!!
I was so disturbed by the relationship between he two main protagonists. Stergios, the older stepbrother has sex with Jodie, his barely legal step-sister in the wine cellar because he thought she was trying to trap his cousin and wanted her for himself. This lead to her getting kicked out of her home and basically forced to live on her own.
Years later, she is back to visit her father and is treated like trash by Stergios and his family. Stergios and Jodie are unable to keep their hands off each other and that leads to a pregnancy, and even more drama.
Jodie tries to prove that she is independent and strong, but she never really convinces me. Stergios needs therapy. Plain and simple. He has way too many issues from his childhood trauma. He needs Dr. Phil!! Jodie’s father is a bastard and her step-mother is an evil cow.
This book was annoying. I found nothing redeeming about the characters, the story, the book. I forced myself to finish it but would strongly suggest that you Read At Your Own Risk !

La heroína es una desvergonzada y sinceramente no le veo ni amor ni futuro a esta pareja.
Él es demasiado consciente en todo el libro de la clase de mujer que es ella (salta de cama en cama y está muy mal vista por la familia) y él le falló en momento donde debería haberse hecho cargo. Con esa base y que ambos son un desastre, hacía falta el epílogo que esta autora nos proporciona como para despejar dudas sobre la relación entre ambos.
No me gustó.

Jodie Little has only ever wanted her father's attention, and has always acted out so that he will notice her. However, he is more enamoured with his rich wife. Jodie has also only ever wanted Stergios Antoniou, her stepbrother. They had hot sex after Stergios thought Jodie was actually interested in his rapey cousin Dimos. The scandal saw Jodie banished from the home.
Four years later, she returns in time for Dimos' arranged marriage, claiming once again to want Daddy's love and attention. Instead, Stergios kidnaps her and takes her to his private island so that she can't interfere in the wedding. They have hot sex again, she gets pregnant, and wonders whether she can live life in a loveless marriage when Stergios insists that they become a family.
One star for Jodie, who is a well-developed character. Even though I couldn't understand why she would want a relationship with her jerk of a father, her actions around this made sense. Her actions around Stergios also made sense. She can't help that she loves an immature prick! I also enjoyed the fact that Jodie had a backbone and a bit of spunk; she gave as good as she got.
All the stars off for Stergios, a tedious manchild whose only ambition is to fuck Jodie, and be the only one who gets to fuck Jodie, and when he doesn't get his way, verbally abuse her, insult her, and slut-shame her. What a catch! Then we have the forced seduction in which he tells her, "You want this," after she has told him, "No," twice. Twice! I know this came out about a year before #metoo really hit, but even in 2016, we shouldn't have been given sex scenes in which a guy has his way with a woman anyway after she has told him no. It's abhorrent and disgusting. I never got past the impression that Jodie only improved in Stergios' eyes because she was the one he impregnated.
And can we stop it with the accidental pregnancies? It's really irresponsible!
Based on that sex scene, I don't think Susanna Carr should be writing romance. Thankfully, it appears that she hasn't published anything since this book.

I found this to be a highly entertaining read that kept my attention with all the twist and turns that came with it. They have a past that blows you way, there is anger, drama along with sadness that makes you want to reach out and hugs these two people. There was a time or two that I raised my eyebrows in question but it blended well with the story. This is a book I read at one setting I just could not put it down the author pulled me in and never let me go. Stergios and Jodie have a past with a chemistry that you can feel through the pages. There are some hot passionated scenes with the tug of war this two are well match with their hot tempters as words fly from their mouths and passion flies you never are left guessing how these two feel.
Jodie has spent her life trying to get the attention of her parents in all the wrong ways. She has been kicked out of every school they have put her in. All she wants are parents that love her and show her how much she means to them. What she got were people who didn't have time for her. The last time she saw her father she was banish from his home due to her behavior. Sometimes things are not as they seem as we protect those around us. At 18 she moves on making a life for herself away from all the hurt and pain her parents give her. She always thought the time would come when she would make peace with them. What she finds is it is a little to late for her mother when she dies. She makes up her mind to work things out with her father. That meeting doesn't go so well all they remember is her past and wonder what she has up her sleeve. She must face Stergios who still pulls on her heart and the attraction is as strong as ever. She relives her past with him but she will not let the man get the better of her, she will stand her ground. All it took was one night when the passion got out of hand again for it to change her whole life. I really enjoyed this character she was strong, giving and caring. Her mouth always seems to get her in trouble as she can't stop the words from coming out it. She stands her ground and gives back all that she is given. My heart really went out to her and all she has had to deal with over the years.
Stergios is a true Greek strong, caring, and passionate, he will not let anything happen to his family they are the most important things in his life. He will build a mega power through marriage to protect his family. No harm will come to them on his watch. What he wasn't expecting was his past to hit him in the face as one lady walks back into it. She could change things and harm his family. He will not let that happen. He recalls the one night they had long ago and finds she still has a strong pull on him. He makes a choice for better or worse that will change his life as he knows it. He finds this little hot tempter will give him his run for his money as he finds he chases her across the planet to make her his. I really enjoy this character he is very strong and alpha. Any women would fall for him in a heartbeat. My heart went out to him for what he had to go through at the hands of his father. He is going to have to learn to not only trust in his self but in other before he can comment to any woman.

If you are looking for a hot read that will keep you on the edge as these two dance around each other you should pick this book up. I doubt you will be able to put it down.

4.5 stars almost a 5 stars for me.
This was my first Susanna Carr book for me so I didn't know what expect from her but I kind of kept my expectations unbiased as possible. So I was pretty open going in. I have to say that it was pretty good and was pretty amazed. The first half of the book I really loved just with all the pain, the angst, and intensity of the story. It gutted me. My heart was ripped opened of what poor Jodie went through and just all the pain she experienced in her life and just how unlovable she felt. It was an emotional read. A few tears leaked out of my eyes I will admitted. I just love those type of stories.
For the most part the second half was good, but it did slow down a bit. The angst lessened. The intensity was just lowered a smidge. And I just wished that there was a little more tenderness shown by Stergios especially when he was trying to make up to Jodie for all his horrible treatment that he delivered concerning her. I just wanted to see a romantic gesture on his part. I wanted to see his softer side come to play.
But regardless of the I did really enjoy this book. I could definitely see myself reading this book again because there were just so many feels to this book. The angst. The back and forth between the couple. The chemistry was just so good and hot and sexy. Loved all their sexy times that were so steamy and full of intensity both emotional and physical. It showed how complicated the relationship between was. I loved the back story that was there which created many misunderstandings and road blocks in their way. Their feelings were real and very intense and I loved seeing that journey on the pages. Just it was a good story for me. I marked lots of favorite of parts in the book and I looking forward to reading them again in the near future.
This book was everything that I expect from a romance. This book reminded me of some of my favorite books from my favorite author like Diana Palmer. People may disagree with me because of the horrible treatment Stergios executed on Jodie but to me that just upped the friction and tension between them. If this happened in real life, I wouldn't be so understanding and would not like him that much. Because he was very rude, cruel and just a totally jerk, though he did mellow out and be kinder near the second half. Jodie had enough cruelty in her life between him and her parents. It made me hurt and really felt bad for her. I felt so much. And really pain. That's what I like from romance.
It was just good a good book and fit my taste well. And Carr really delivered. I will definitely be picking up another Susanna Carr book in the future. And I can't wait.

My heart really went out to her and all she has had to deal with over the years.

He will build a mega power through marriage to protect his family. No harm will come to them on his watch. What he wasn't expecting was his past to hit him in the face as one lady walks back into it. She could change things and harm his family. He will not let that happen. He recalls the one night they had long ago and finds she still has a strong pull on him. He makes a choice for better or worse that will change his life as he knows it. He finds this little hot tempter will give him his run for his money as he finds he chases her across the planet to make her his. I really enjoy this character he is very strong and alpha. Any women would fall for him in a heartbeat. My heart went out to him for what he had to go through at the hands of his father. He is going to have to learn to not only trust in his self but in other before he can comment to any woman.
This is the first book I have read by this author but it will not be the last. I really enjoyed the read it has a wonderful plot with outstanding characters that speaks to you. You have compassion for them as they go back in time giving you a heartbreaking story. There are a few I didn't care for but you aren't meant to as others who really grab you and pull on your heart. I thought at times the story might be a little over the top but it does blend well. There was a place I had to go back an reread because it jumped and lost me but after rereading it I found my way. This is a page turn with all the twist and turns. It was a book I could not put down. I have always fallin in love with Harlequin authors they have some of the best story tellers. If you are looking for a hot read that will keep you on the edge as these two dance around each other you should pick this book up. I doubt you will be able to put it down.

I feel I missed something in the story with it not being the first in the series for me. But aside from that it was very well written. Jodi is a very manipulative female who at one time would do whatever it took to get what she wanted however things and time has changed her but her stepbrother Stergios has other plans this time around. He knows his cousin wants Jodi has always wanted her but he is determined to make the minx his. i fell in love with the strong female character. but i thought the rest of the book could have been a little better. overall it was an interesting and somewhat enjoyable read.
Stergios is the type of man who makes business deals to further his family and their financial gain. he didnt want anyone or anything to get in the way of that. the problem was that his step-sister reappeared in his life when he didnt want her too. so to protect his family he took her away. but the consequences when he did that made him alter his plans forever.
jodie was only tring to make amends with her father and have a relationship with him. but when her step-brother took her away she did not know what to do. however she still has feelings for him since she could remember. she disnt want anything to do with him because he did not love her.
the majority of the book was about their relationship and how they both realized they loved each other.

I have read so many great books by Susanna Carr and this one definitely stood up to the challenge. After a complicated history between Stergios and Jodie these two step sibblings meet up again in an explosive display. Jodie comes back from banishment inorder to reconnect with her father after her absentee mother passed away. She was willing to deal with everything life had to throw at her. Including her incredibly hot and infuriating stepbrother Stergios. Stergios will do anything inorder to protect the family that came after him after a horrible kid napping when he was younger, including dealing with the one woman who gets thru his façade.
These two have an amazing connection that bleads thru every blessed line that was written. There is some sexual content, but this book focuses more on the plot and the romance.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves a great romance.

The taboo aspects of the story didn't bother me. How everybody treated Jodie did. Her parents ignored her and shuttled her from one distant boarding school to the next, eager to rid themselves of her presence so they could selfishly pursue their lives without having a kid around. Stergios and his family treated her horribly, when all she wanted was some place to call home and someone to care for. She was 15 years old when she first met them, and they couldn't get rid of her fast enough, either! I just thinking what a crappy childhood to have, and what a strong person she must be to not be even more messed up than she was.

I liked this one! I mean, I dig the trope, obviously, but even other than that I still liked it. I swooned, and that's what makes at least a 4 star for me. I could feel their desire for each other leap off the pages. And so much angst. Gah, the angst made me so happy. I'd been on an angst drought, too.
I feel like a lot of the reviews for this book are unfair by people who didn't read it, or didn't like the trope and think it's gross, or people who don't like a heroine who has a healthy sexual appetite. Please, we're moving with the times people, women can have sex too!!! And please, read the synopsis, if you don't like something about it, don't read it, and don't rate it.

Okay, it was more of a 4.5 star read because I just thought there was too much drama. Like overdone and kind of heavy for my tastes but it was executed fairly well. Susanna Carr was able to wrap up the story in a neat little package by the end of it with hot sex, emotions, and perfect declarations of love, and definitely, allowing time to pass between characters to figure out their motivations so that love was believable. Recommend it to anyone thinking about purchasing this book!

I didn't like it, their connection was believable but not that strong in my opinion.
While hero was strongly drawn to heroine against his will if she hadn't been pregnant he wouldn't have blown up his life for her alone. He was just about to be engaged to another woman before he found out the baby heroine was pregnant with was his. A merger of business by means of marriage that he had worked on for years is not something he was planning to abandon for the heroine, he only did because she was pregnant.
The heroine was not my favorite, while I felt bad for how she was treated and shunned by everyone, I was not impressed with how she made situations so much worse by lying. She did it to either protect herself or she did it when she thought she was protecting hero and giving him what he wanted by letting him think the worse of her. Her insecurities and abandonment issues til the very end got a bit annoying.
They were step-siblings and he was 8 years older than her, he admitted that he desired her for years so he was 24-26 while being attracted to a 16-18 year old. When she was 18 (he was 26) he slept with her and then disappeared for awhile leaving her to deal with fallout and be banished from her father's life. They both slept with other people in the 4 years they were seperated, he was disgusted by the fact that she had slept with other men. When she reappeared in his life he was awful to her, called her names and even kidnapped her because he thought she would ruin his cousins wedding.
The hero was terrible for the first half of the book. When he thought she was pregnant with another man's baby he was disgusted, called her a whore, said he was glad she was pregnant with another man's baby because then she would never be the mother of his child and said so many more hurtful things. He was a totally different guy once he learned it was his baby, once he learned she was pregnant with his child he was he super nice, protective and he wanted to marry her. P.

This was awful, there was no redeeming quality what so ever.
The storyline I'm fine with. Step siblings have an unusual interest with each other, OK, fine. It's the characters themselves and all the surrounding cast that lost me. Jodie was considered an outcast, barely acknowledged by her parents, seen as a pariah due to some alleged family "scandal" and forever playing up the party girl image. Stergios is the typical macho hero who used Jodie, doesn't trust anyone, is super cold and as likeable as a rock and super stubborn and thick headed. Don't even get my started on the families (the cousin who lusts after Jodie, the father who pimped himself out, the cold mother, etc).
There is no trust between the main characters and both are as stubborn as ever after 4 years. Lies, lies and more lies. The ending didn't feel satisfying at all. By that point I'm just happy to be done this book.

OK, so the heroine is the hero's stepsister, who got banished years ago after being seduced by the hero. She moved on, and is now back to reconnect with her estranged father.
Ofcourse the hero thinks she's a h0e and will spoil his business plans/ cousin's wedding, so kidnaps her. He whisks her away to a remote island, they loose electricity, and an egg is fertilized.
The rest of the book is just.. disappointing. We still see her being treated like an outcast. The hero has zero control over his family. They have to lead separate lives as everyone dislikes the heroine. And there's some asinine plot about fearing the dark.

You can tell this book is part of a series as you are thrown into the lives of the characters with an expectation of knowing the details of what happened previously aside from the very brief, vague recaps within this book. The relationship between the main characters is a bit predictable and the love-hate attitude between them gets tiresome. While the story is intriguing, I didn't find myself immersing completely into it and felt certain aspects were rushed with no clear definition on the significance.

Stergio is a hero I cannot get behind. The way he treats the heroine, calls her a whore, and slut shames her is irredeemable. Kudos to Jodie for being a normal, sex-positive adult woman who didn't let herself feel shamed by others.

As soon as Jodie was referred to as a whore by Stergios and his mother then the story was on the downward side. Why is she a whore? He doesn't get called a man-whore. Very annoying. Not keeping this one.

I love Greece, I would totally love travel there and get the magic of the Mediterranean coast; saying this, I also love to read romance base in this country, I felt that there something unique and exotic of the culture, food, history and places that hold me into the magical of it. However, I’m not fool about the lacking of plot consistence in the romance genre and the fact that pretty much everything is another copy of, what it seems, the same pre-produce script.
With all of this into motion, I also have to say that these Greek romances are my guilty pleasure and I won’t end to read them anytime soon. Illicit Night with the Greek was a good book to read for a great afternoon, it does have romance, drama and lot of family problems. What I love of this book was the romance itself, that even when it’s kind of sick, it’s still very pretty. By other hand what I didn’t like was the fact that everything happened so fast that we don’t have time to process the whole thing. I expect more drama and story unfold.
But, I think for lovers of romance this will be a great book because it has all the elements we like about when we read these kinds of books. I recommend it to spend a pretty afternoon with some coffee and biscuits!

I loved Illicit Night with the Greek. It, to me, was a mixture of what initially drew me to Harlequin and what I love reading now. It had themes that can be common with Harlequins and a relatively new theme we have been coming across lately. I loved the accidental pregnancy (although I do think Jodie kind of jinxed herself) and the fierce sexual tension between the two main characters. I have not read a lot of step-siblings romance, but I have to say this... Angry "taboo" sex is hot. When Stergios and Jodie get within 50 feet of each other, the air is thick with lust and sexual energy. When it ignites, watch out!

A harlequin take on the forbidden love and neatly packaged up with a nice bow at the end. Stergios the hero is obsessed with his stepsister Jodie. Both are pretty damaged characters as expected in genre, only is a nice palatable Harlequin way. It starts off with a one night stand, a few years apart and then reunited for this explosive story. And it is explosive, given the constraints Susanna Carr had to contend with - I mean pushing the boundaries for the trope with the romance framework. The sex is wild, steamy and adventurous - also obsessive and rough. Even I raised a brow at certain phrasing.
So if you like forbidden love with a hint of dark romance tied up with a cute Harlequin bow read this. It won't be as disturbing as non-harlequin books who do this genre.

Stergios Antoniou and his step-sister Jodie Little had a 'one night' fling a few years back. Stergios quickly left Jodie seconds after that but their parents found out something had happened. So Jodie took the blame and she was asked to leave. Now years later her real mother has died and Jodie feels that she would like to try to get to know her father. But returning home after being left to leave under the knowledge of what she did earlier has kept her family distant. Stergios even thinks she back for revenge. This overall was a good book. I didn't like Stergios so much as to why I gave it a lower rating.
