This box set includes Books 1 - 3 in the BISTRO LA BOHEME series, and is over 700 pages of heart-stopping romance.
What If It's Love? (Book 1) Parisian waiter Rob Dumont needs cash to pay for his grad school tuition. When a respected businessman offers him a handsome reward to spy on a foreign heiress - Lena - he accepts, knowing she wouldn't really get hurt.
What Rob doesn't know is that Lena has the sweetest, loveliest smile he's ever seen...
Falling for Emma (Book 2) Rising star of French soft rock Cyril falls for Laura -- the charming groupie who waltzed into his life one sweet summer afternoon. Their story could have been pretty straightforward except... He's blind. And she isn't who she claims to be.
Under My Skin(Book 3) Feisty bartender Jeanne and geek-turned-hottie Mat cross paths at an engagement party, a baptism and a wedding, not counting all the other times they "accidentally" run into each other... and miserably fail to behave with propriety.
But Mat is an ambitious politician running for mayor of his hometown and involved with an exquisite woman. He knows exactly where he wants to be five years from now.
Falling for Jeanne all over again is definitely NOT part of his plan.

I have really enjoyed this series it has wonderful characters that are outstanding. These are well written and the path the author tooks was not quite what I expected. The author had me smiling and chuckling through all the twist and turns. The author paints a story that you can picture in your mind of a lovely coffee house in Paris as you read each scene. For me the series has been a page turner and I couldn't wait to read the rest of the series. I am so looking forward to reading more to see where the author takes me.
The author gives you books full of emotion, love and just a very touching read that will touch your heart, keep you smiling and laughing. You have to love these character they are strong but weak. They see but they are blind to how things could be. They are funny and cute but have a lot to learn. Sometimes what we truly are looking for we have always seen but never really saw.
The author gives you a wonderful love story, with wonderful character. The words flows easy as the author pulls you in and you keep turning the pages to find out what she has in store for you. She tells a wonderful story of love, lost, pain, sorrow, wants, wishes and so much more. You will be left with a smile and almost a tear as you turn the last page. The author leaves you wanting more.
I enjoyed reading this box set, although I liked the stories for different reasons. Falling for Emma was a great way to introduce Bistro la Boheme, but was my least favorite of the three stories. I couldn't connect with either Cyril or Emma, but it was still a fun read. This story is a good vehicle for introducing the players in the series.
What If It's Love? is my favorite of the 3 books in this box set. Absolutely loved Rob, hot and intelligent. What a great combination. Lena, sheltered and rich, but not a spoiled diva. It took them a long time to have their HEA with some crazy twists, but I cheered them on the entire time.
Under My Skin, featured my favorite character in the box set, Jeanne. Fell in love with her in Falling for Emma, loved her more in What If It's Love? And am so happy she has her own story. While I always wanted her to fall in love, I didn't think it would be Mat. I wanted to slap sense into both of them at different times for different reasons, but ultimately they both figured it all out.
Although it took me a week to read this box set, it was a light, easy read. No graphic sex scenes was greatly appreciated. My only problem with the box set was I truly didn't feel like I was in Paris. But all in all it was a fun read, and I will recommend to friends to read.
I received an ARC eBook in exchange for an honest review. I will update my review as I finish each book.
#1 - WHAT IF IT'S LOVE: I loved this first book of the series. Full of the magic and romance of Paris as well as Russia, Rob and Lena's story is a long and twisty road of love, broken trust, mistaken choices and of course second chances. Beautifully descriptive and exquisitely emotional journey that is true of any journey of the heart! I highly recommend this book! 5-Stars! #2 - FALLING FOR EMMA: I read this book before Book #1. I loved Emma & Cyril's story! Set in Paris, this romantic story touched my soul. Beautifully written with such depth of emotions for both Emma & Cyril that you can honestly identify with what each is going through. I highly recommend this book and series! 5-Stars!!
I saw this book on kindle unlimited and thought why not. I thought I would have time to read maybe the first book. Then I thought I could give up a bit of sleep and maybe squeeze in the second one. Well, forget all that! There was no sleep until the last page was turned! This series was one of those rare times where I had no prep going in. I'd mentioned to my husband early on that I was enjoying it, and then showed him my progress later on, and he laughed and then said "Wow, you weren't kidding about enjoying it." The characters are relatable, and well-conceived. So real, that you can feel like you are right with them in the story. This author is great, she writes such a great story! I have read the whole Bistro La Bohème Series and look forward to each new book.
I have finished reading the first book in this series. (Nov 26/2015) I thoroughly enjoyed the story line and the characters. Also learned a bit about Paris and area.
I have started book #2 and when I have that completed, I will add more to my review.
I would recommend this series to my friends.
Today is December 3 and I have finished reading the 2nd and 3rd books in this series. These two were just as great as the first one.
Again the characters were interesting, the story line wonderful. They were easy to read and the story flowed perfectly.
I read these books individually, but had to share my feelings about the Bistro La Boheme series by Alix Nichols.
These books capture our minds and hearts - feeling the angst of the characters and loving the locations and descriptions of far away places.
I felt the pain, the confusion, the love. Only a good writer can cause you to feel the characters feelings...
Quick, cozy reads that left me wanting more. I'll never travel to these places, but now I feel like I've been to Russia and Paris. Enjoy your trip to romance!
I read all the books separately and slowly and steadily fell in love with this series which took me to the Bistro La Boheme in Paris where I met Rob, Lena, Cyril, Laura, Jeanne and Mat. Each one had their own story which I read with great interest and was always left wanting more. A must read series that I loved and recommend! :)
All the reviews for the books in the Bistro La Boheme series are also available on my blog Njkinny's World of Books & Stuff: http://www.njkinnysblog.com/
Amazing Stories! They're All A Must Read... Alix wrote three amazingly well stories of friendship, love, and emotional come backs. The characters each delivered their own individual thoughts of falling in love with their soul mates, the doubts thoughts, and finally the conclusion of needing that other person to be complete. I only wish that each book was a little longer. But still Fabulous Reads!
I read all three of these books and loved each one. This is a great deal getting all three books. Each one is a love story and can be read alone, but you do get to meet some of the same characters in the three books. Besides getting three wonderful love stories, you get to "see" some of Paris and Russia. I really enjoyed all the books and encourage you to get the set.
A collection of 3 romantic books, each one different but intertwined three very different couples struggling with very different circumstances and emotions, these are feel good books very enjoyable.
you cry, you laugh, you fall in love all over again. from the city of love in Paris France, follow along as the characters make some of life's hardest decisions in a quaint little bistro that brings them all together
I received this box set free for an honest review... I must say that this was a really good box set!!! I loved it... These books are full of love, betrayal and will touch your heart!!! A real page turner... I highly recommend this box set!!!
I'm rounding up a bit, the collection for me is really a 3.5 star read. My favorite book in the collection was actually the first one: Falling for Emma. It was fast paces and very entertaining - by itself, it would be a 4 star read. The second two books "What if it's Love?" and "Under my Skin" were both fun and good books, but they didn't capture my attention in the same way. I would give both 3.5 stars. One of the things the author did in the second two books was "time hop" a little bit to move the story along. When that happened the chapter heading let you know time had progressed and we got a synopsis of important events in the time skipped, but we didn't get bogged down in all of the details. These are definitely relationship stories vs purely romance with a great setting. They make me want to visit Paris and find a little Bistro....
Rob begins his relationship with Lena as a spy. Thinks quickly heat up as they get to know each other. Their lives take a turn when his treachery is discovered. A story full of love, passion, deceit, settling, and bravery.
Cyril and Emma have an interesting past since he dated her older sister for years. After his accident they get to know each other again. But Emma's secret threatens to ruin everything they have built. A story filled with love, passion, pain, healing, and looking within.
May had his eyes on Jeanne for years, before she ever noticed him. Now that he is back in Paris, he has caught her eye, but he has a girlfriend. They dance around each other and their connection in a painful dance. A story full of passion, the threat of unrequited love, self imposed limitations, love, and self discovery. A great addition to the series. I couldn't put it down!
I have received the books separately in exchange for a review.
Fall in for Emma: Lovable blind man and the girl who's always loved him finally connect. A car accident took his vision but it opened his world to really "seeing" Emma. Beautiful writing, lots of laughter and emotions.
What If It's Love: Two people meet under false pretenses and continue a friendship. We follow their relationship for about three years. While the story had many twists and turns I just couldn't connect with Lena or Rob. Their attraction just did not grab me like the couple from the prequel. The poetry was beautiful and scenic descriptions were wonderful. I found the story enjoyable although not a favorite. My copy was given for an honest review.
Loved the first book Fall for Emma. Emma and Cyril are just so great together. I thought it was a great start to the set and I hoped the whole thing would live up to the first book. Unfortunately, I'm not a huge fan of the second book, What If It's Love. While I was pulling for Lena and Rob, I felt like the book just went on too long. By the time they got their happy ending I was ready to smack both of them for being stupid. I liked the third book, Under My Skin, a bit better although it still fell short of the first book. Jeanne and Mat were another couple I wanted to hit, but they weren't as bad as Lena and Rob. Overall I enjoyed the series, and I will look for other books by this author.
I seriously loved this series, the books were well written with great story lines, the fact that they are all connected to Bistro La Boheme, gives you a sense of belonging and family, which enables you to know the characters. Of the three couples Rob & Lene, Matt and Jeanne and Emma and Cyril, my favorite was Emma and Cyril, their's was the biggest hurdle to overcome, the deceit and lies, coupled with the difference. I will definately be reading the rest of this series and would recommend.
I received an ARC copy of this series for an honest review. I really enjoyed this series, especially the first book "What if it's Love". Rob and Lana are such likeable characters. Book 2 "Falling for Emma" was good, but I wished it would have been longer ... it just seemed to end so quick. Book 3 "Under my Skin" also had very likeable characters Mat and Jeanne.
Bistro La Bohème Box Set Love, lies, heartache and forgiveness. These books have them all. And I like how they all have a common place. You get a little more detail with every story.
I received an ARC in order for a fair review. I enjoyed these books. I loved how all of the characters tied together. There was a twist in each of the books that kept you guessing. Overall this was a great read and I will be recommending it. I will also be reading more from this author.
Loved this set and each story made me happy for love in a crazy world. The character are lovable and I found myself rooting for them to find their happy ending. Well done Ms. Nichols I will be reading a lot more in the future.
Not a bad story, I just wasn't a fan of the style.... There didn't appear to be any flow..... It was a little jerky which made it a confusing read.....in retrospect a little work on the layout would help immensely with that. Clearer breaks between subject changes.
I loved it!!!! I just love this Whole series. I've read 7 or 8 books of this series. I've read the D'Arcy's series also. It has characters in it from this series for later times in the series. They meet later on down the line.
