Riley Hunt is the pen name of Trish Beninato. She writes both adult and young adult fantasy, sci-fi, and paranormal with a little romance and strong female leads that kick ass all on their own. She lives in Maryland currently, but who knows where she will end up next, even she doesn’t know. She holds a master’s in Education with an emphasis on Reading Literacy, but instead writes the literature she once sought to teach. She is a wine and coffee enthusiast who overindulges way too much. A proud nerd to the core, you’ll find Star Wars and Marvel characters littering the shelves of her office; which she uses influence from as she writes her stories

If you loved the movie Groundhog Day, then this book is DEFINITELY for you!

Imagine Groundhog Day, but with curses and magic, and a healthy dose of that sarcastic humor that made Bill Murray's performance so memorable.

Now, let me be clear, this is NOT a remake of Groundhog Day. Not even close! But it has the elements that made that movie such a classic, which is exactly why I think fans of the movie will enjoy this story.

But you know what the movie doesn't have? WINIFRED AND BART.

Okay, technically, they're side characters, but these two absolutely STOLE MY HEART! Witty, sarcastic, and bringing exactly the kind of comedy this story needed. I LOVED them! Honestly, I could read an entire book about just these two. Someone make that happen, please!

Now, let's talk about our main characters, Mira and Evander.

At its heart, this story is about overcoming the internal demons we carry around with us. And the thing I really appreciated was how relatable those struggles felt. They weren't so far removed from the things we face in the real world, which made this story more than just a charming, magical winter adventure.

So, with all this praise, why only four stars?

Personal preference, plain and simple.

I grew up on sci-fi, the good, the bad, and everything in between, especially when it comes to time travel stories. Because of that, I've developed some pretty strong personal preferences about how I like these stories handled. I'm not saying this book handled it poorly at all. In fact, I think it handled the time-jump elements better than most books I've read that tackle them!

There were just a few little things that came down to my own preferences. Nothing that ruined the story, just enough to keep it from being a five star read for me.

Overall, One Endless Winter was a charming, funny, magical read with characters who made me laugh and a story with a surprisingly relatable heart.

If you love cozy winter stories with a side of Halloween vibes, curses, magic, sarcastic humor, and a Groundhog Day twist, definitely add this one to your TBR!

And Riley Hunt, if Winifred and Bart ever get their own book, just know I will be FIRST IN LINE.

Groundhog Day, but make it witchy. ❄️⏳

I received an e-ARC of One Endless Winter and tore through it about as fast as the sands slipped through that hourglass. And much like the time loop itself, this book had me turned around, spun up, and completely along for the ride — in the best possible way.

Fast-paced romance. Cozy winter vibes. Witchy mystery. Time loops. Weaponized puns. A sassy owl familiar. Magical artifacts and academia. A broody manor keeper. A cursed village.

I mean… what else could a girl ask for?!

And Winifred, the owl familiar? PERFECTION 🤌 Protect her at all costs.

Also, the optional beta-reader spice scene? 👀🌶️ YES, PLEASE. I know the final book is intended to be clean… but after getting that little taste, my only complaint is: YOU COULD HAVE GIVEN ME MORE. 😂

A fun, cozy, twisty winter read ❄️✨

This definitely turned out to be a very different book. Yes it is about time displacement and powerful objects but there's so much more to it than that. Two very emotionally damaged people come together to change their lives. The author making the statement that everything in life needs balance. Some subjects are very difficult to describe so that the reader can understand it. I think this author did a very good job on some very difficult subjects.

I received this ARC from the author. I’m so grateful for that. My thoughts are that I simply enjoyed the book because it really did feel cozy for me. I know my review is short and it’s okay. This is just what I really felt about the book.
