For thousands of years, the Gods of Olympus and Asgard have warred, each determined to establish dominion over the Earth. Both pantheons grow weary and in a slick unprecedented move, Zeus and Odin design a plan to unite their realms.
Clotho, the youngest Greek Fate bears many burdens and secrets but none greater than the one she doesn't even realize she carries.
Soren, a proud and ancient Viking warrior holds the power of demons and gods, but not by his own choice. More importantly, he holds the heart of the very woman who broke his own.
Dagr, grandson of Odin and heir to Asgard, desires little more than ultimate power and when offered Cloie's hand in marriage to cement his place, eagerly agrees. But he has his own reasons for wanting the baby Fate in his grasp...and bed.
Passions collide and betrayals abound when the First Evil is unleashed on Gods and man alike. Cloie holds the key to all destruction and salvation.
Ties That Bind is an introductory short showcasing the characters and conflict of The Cloie Chronicles, within the gorgeous backdrop of the world of the gods. Cloie is actually the goddess Clotho, one of the three Greek Fates, but her heart belongs to Soren, a Viking warrior and blood-brother to the Asgardian King. In their youth, they loved freely and without fear, but in modern day they've been driven apart by circumstances and tragedy. This book sets up the conflict to be explored throughout their longer story.
Despite its shorter length, Ties That Bind packs a lot of well-written conflict and creates a beautiful setting, without feeling like a lot of exposition. Even though it's an introduction to a longer love story, it doesn't lack for sexuality and even a little spice. The characters are distinct and colorful, and it definitely grabs your interest for the greater story to come.
I've enjoyed Timeless Night and Timeless Seduction by Torie James, and have wonderful things to say about both, but I think Ties That Bind showcases her talent with words in an even more vivid and powerful way. There's a lot of treasure in this short story.
I. Just. Can't. Even. I need more!!! Cloie is...something/everything else, and most definitely an interesting heroine. The whole Greek and Norse pantheon union is brilliant! Loved this short and am looking forward to more of Cloie's adventures!
This book was a wonderful read. Great characters, loved the tension between Cloie and Soren. Torie James is an amazing author. I already love Dagr. Can't wait to read the second installment.

Ties That Bind by Torie James is one hot sexy romance that will leave readers with a blush. Magic, betrayals, gods and much more can be found in this exciting new read. This was the first story that I have read by Torie James. The plot comes to life before readers’ eyes. There’s enough conflict like two young lovers who are separated and then are kept apart. But there is more than just distance that destroys their romantic connection. The characters are sexy and charming. Readers will be laughing, crying, and falling in love with all of the believable characters and all of their troubles.
Ties that Bind begins with two young lovers who swear their love for another. But soon, just like Romeo and Juliet, they are taken from each other and fall out of love. Only one of them still loves the other with a passion hotter than fire. But the love is constantly denied through the space, time, betrayals that occur. Torie James is a talented writer that brings much more to readers everywhere. There another character who wants a woman whose heart is tied to another man. A man the denies his heart to her. This new man is not giving up and in fact will do everything in his power to make her submit to him. Will that be enough and what will happen next is up to readers to find out. I highly recommend this super short yet brilliantly well-written romance to readers everywhere. This is a story readers’ wont be able to stop reading.
