Wow! For a short story that is written in a manner it comes across as light hearted, this packs a punch.

While it doesn’t answer life’s mysteries or questions it should be required reading for couples struggling in their relationship. Besides the story that is told the idea that in order to really hear each other they need to be totally alone, no interruptions, no excuses and no way to leave is so spot on it would be an effective counseling tool.

This book definitely makes you think and isn’t that what we read should do?

Quality time alone is a couple's best friend.

A cute well told story that, despite mildly predictable, was entertaining and enjoyable beginning to end.

The story was drafted in clear scenes with only some mild telling (vs showing) at the end. Call it a parable, and structurally it's perfectly told.

I would have enjoyed more similes like, "Katie's anger boiled over like a forgotten pot of pasta left unattended on high heat."

But the ending was uplifting and satisfying. Glad it's available as a stand alone, and as part of a larger charity anthology collection.
