Hope Town #2

Bleeding Love

Rate this book
I've loved once. I gave everything that I had to that love. Blindly believing that nothing could ever take that feeling away from me. Away from us. And when my little world of happiness was ripped from my fingers, I felt a loss that still haunts me to this day. Now I use that lingering grief as a shield to keep my heart from loving again. It's that fear that keeps me from letting anyone, except my daughter, get close enough to make it hurt. To make my heart bleed when I inevitably lose again. Until the day I met Liam Beckett and everything I thought I had protected myself from was shoved back in my face. He's on a mission to prove to me that a love worth having is a love worth fighting for.

5 ‘It’s a Beckett thing’ stars!

 photo 48c05561-cec9-4850-9b64-e21b2137b8ed_zpsssb8862x.jpg

Beck is my favorite Harper Sloan book. John Beckett made that book, and knowing Bleeding Love is a book about his son, Liam Beckett, I couldn't wait to start it. The minute it was on my kindle I jumped right in. And it didn’t disappoint. I loved it almost as much as Beck. In fact, it might be tied as my favorite now!

Liam Beckett is a cop. He’s a good guy with great friends and parents that love him more than anything. Megan is an author. She’s a single mom who was widowed a few years ago. Besides her daughter, she’s alone in the world. The gang has kind of taken her under their wing lately. Her late husband and Cohen served together so they have that connection.

 photo 6f4f6359-48d4-4f88-887e-dc20a73af3bb_zpsc8ufa31o.jpg

There is something about Megan that draws Liam in right away. He gives her time. He knows about her situation and the fragility of it all. He’s patient…. for a while. But once it’s time to make his move, he doesn’t hold back. Liam is all in. How do you try to help someone, to be with someone with a past that haunts them? It’s not easy, that’s for sure. But it doesn’t stop Liam from trying.
Not only am I fighting for someone that can’t see through the shadows to find the rope I’m holding to pull herself off rock bottom, but I’m also fighting the ghosts of her past that I’m not sure will let her go long enough to make that climb

I love that Liam was able to be patient with Megan, but also push just enough to get her out of her comfort zone. To get her to start living life again.

This is one of those stories where I loved both the main characters equally. Then you add the most adorable kid into the mix. It was perfect! Not only that, but you get bits and pieces of The Corps family- and catching up with characters you love is the best.

I love the family that these characters are. I love how they take Megan and her kid into the fold, no questions asked. Even before Liam, they claim her as their own. They are just those kind of people. It’s no wonder Liam is so great of a guy, he comes from people like that.

 photo 894f75ee-7646-492a-9710-4f4fdb2df627_zpsdtf9tika.jpg

Harper’s books always have a great combination of steam, emotion and humor. What I loved most about this book is the fact that I think she switched up her formula a bit towards the end . The writing had a good flow, the story was strong and I loved the characters. This one gets a full 5 stars from me!

Bleeding Love can be read as a stand alone, but to get a bit of Megan and Liam’s backstory I would recommend reading Unexpected Fate first. And I also recommend The Corps Security series just because they are somewhat connected and I adore those books!
“Thank you.”

“For what?”
“Everything.”

HANDS DOWN .. one of the BEST series I've come across. I've been following it for the past 2 years which is when my obsession for reading became highly addictive. Harper Sloan is brilliant author and her work never fails to disappoint .. her work is original however unlike any other. This is the second novel in a spin-off series .. you could start with just Hope Town. Personally .. I recommend starting ALL THE WAY from the beginning because it ties it together beautifully.

I want you more than
I've wanted anything in my life
and that frustrates the shit out of me
because you either can't or won't see it.

This novel had "ALL-STAR" potential .. and definitely would have been one of my favorites. Although .. for once this novel didn't have very much DRAMA/CLIMAX. At first I'm like okay so it's going to be hard for her to fall in love again and Liam has his work cut out for him. Then as the story progressed I realized THAT'S IT!? I guess I kind of needed that "extra mile" or just another "curve-ball" possibly a "CLIFFHANGER"?! Like come ON even a "PLOT-TWIST"?! OH well .. LE SIGH. Despite all that .. DON'T GET ME WRONG it was a beautiful story. It was filled with Love, Trust, Respect, and that DIALOGUE .. god DAYUM so beautiful it made me teary eyed and then it would make me laugh like a maniac (LOVE THESE CHARACTERS).

I ain't gonna be that easy to leave
Girl, I'm gonna make you miss me ..►♫

“A love worth having, is worth fighting for.”

That was sweet. Harper Sloan has once more proven she is an excellent guilty pleasure author and it is entirely possible that I am a teensy, tiny bit addicted to her books. The moment the ARC hit my kindle I was on it and I didn't stop until I was done and the sun had risen again.

Sleepless night well spent. An insomniac's dream.

Bleeding Love is the second instalment in the Hope Town Series, which also happens to be a spin-off for the Corps Security Series. Basically the children getting a love life and it's glorious and absolutely shameless fun.

“Open your eyes, Megan. It's time to grab the rope.”

Megan has been living in perpetual darkness for three years, since her husband and best friend died overseas while serving in the army. After that her life once again became barely tolerable, with the only light in her life being Molly, her five year old daughter.

The moment Liam 'Lee' Beckett first laid eyes on Megan he knew she was the one for him. But with all the demons surrounding her he kept his distance, waiting for the right time. And then Dani and Cohen's wedding happened and everything changed for one night.

I really liked both characters a lot. Megan was a very strong heroine, justifiably reluctant since she has not only herself to look after but her daughter as well. It was heartbreaking to see her unravel and finally let people in.

Lee, just like his father Beck before him stole my heart. He is such a caring, thoughtful character and determined in his pursuit of Megan. Initially I was concerned that his advances would come over too stalkerish, but it went well in the end.

All I can say is their relationship was sincere, moving and done at a fitting pace. On top of that I loved catching up with some of my favourite characters from previous instalments, but Axel the babysitter has to be the highlight for me.

“One thing I know for sure. I want this. I want this and Liam’s going to give it to me.”

Bleeding Love was a really nice read, fluidly written and hooks you right from the start. It had a lot of sweetness, amble amounts of heartbreak and quite a few laughs. A well rounded read with a lot of heart instead and no unnecessary drama. If you like that sort of thing, look no further this is your book.

So far, most definitely my favourite part in the spin-off Hope Town series. Can’t wait to read more.

I know this is hard to believe but I am new to the Corps world, so I have been reading this books a little out of order. It started with Unexpected Fate and I was hooked. Harper Sloan knows how to bring sexy and I love meeting her characters.

We were introduced to Megan at the end of Unexpected Fate she is a widow and a mother. I cannot even begin to fathom her pain and heartache, but I immediately connected with her. Seriously, she is one of my favorite heroines I have read this year. Megan’s whole life has been difficult and when she finally got a little bit of peace it was taken from her. She didn’t give up, though she preserved. I have said it before and I will say it again determination and perseverance are two of my favorite qualities in people, Megan had both.

Liam, sigh, no really, this boy. He is completely dreamy and my favorite type of hero. He completely asserts himself into Megan’s life and refuses to go away. This isn’t about control, no he sees how much she needs somebody and wants to be there for her. Their relationship and his relationship with Megan’s daughter was lovely. I loved reading this and seeing what Liam would do next. He was determined to improve Megan’s life, to make things easier on her.

If you are a fan of alpha males, hot sexy scenes and a complete swoon worthy love, this book is for you. I can’t imagine one thing I would change in this story, it was perfect. All of the characters added value to the story, some added humor, while others provided guidance and support. Regardless, this story is a complete win in my book.

A love worth having, is worth fighting for.

Megan is a single mother of a little girl, still getting over the death of her ex-husband that died during army service. Liam is a cop who served with Megan’s late husband and he tries to keep an eye on her, despite wanting more.
When things finally progress to a changing point between them, Liam has to prove Megan that he’s the right person for her future.

Let me be very honest: this was a sweet, entertaining and very steamy reading. For me the problem is that I didn’t felt like it had a real story. There was no background plot or complications. It was like a straight line that knowing the beginning you know exactly how will end.
It was of those books perfect for when you need a quick fix and a steamy romance is exactly what you want.

Harper Sloans books to me are Indulgence. If I'm ever in a book slump or a just want something that will pick me right up, then Harpers books are my No 1 choice. This book was no different, delightful, sexy, HOT, fun and heart warming.
 photo sexy while reading gif_zpsdbqzs8lz.gif

What's it about?
Megan is the widow of Cohen's (Back in unexpected Fate) Friend, the friend that got killed on the field during war. But Megan is not happy and not loving life, she loves her daughter Molly and does everything for her but not for herself. That is until she see's Lee and there is a smidge of hope. Lee though has a lot of work to get her to open up.

Liam (Lee) which if you are known to the Corps security series is the son of Beck and Dee. He is a Cop and their attraction is undeniable. Megan is trying to steer clear from Lee because she feels something that she can't quite put her finger on. On the other hand, she wants him as much as he wants her. One night of Sex changes things yet Lee has a lot on his hands to get her to open up for Reals.

 photo F9040AA2-E68A-4D7A-9AF8-1F41CEC2FA2A_zpsvhhu5v8t.jpg

Megan is living trough pain and unable to move forward from regret and many other reasons for you to find out. Lee is just like his Father in many ways and if you have read Beck then you will understand what I'm saying here , still Lee is a gentle compassionate hero. He takes his time to teach Megan how to live and more importantly how to FEEL. Lee with the help of his best friend Dani establish a list of fun things to do just to teach Megan how to live, see fun.

This is kind of quick fast pasted unable to put it down read. I just loved the flow of it, and it breathed easy as Harper would say. I also just loved the family element in it, Lee is a single child so I suppose he learnt to love from his parents. He wanted what they have and he got love in bucket loads from them. Therefore he knew exactly how to give it, even if this was his first real and last love.

And as expected you will read ALOT of HOT sexy moments and scenes. Yet I would say these books are slightly different to the Corps books, they are still HOT, but there is an added quality in that you see more depth and feelings. You will see family bonds, which kind of generate down because you know the parents and their story. Make sense?
This is a standalone though, you can still read, even if you haven't read any of the Corps or Hope Town books, but I would still recommend reading them at some point.

That Is All

#BleedingLove1

You know you are officially obsessed and addicted with Harper Sloan's writing when immediately after finishing Bleeding Love, you practically inhaled and devoured six book of the Corps Security series in two days. Yes, and that's what I did and have no regrets about it.

Bleeding Love by Harper Sloan can only be summed up as breathtakingly beautiful. This book stole my heart immediately from the opening pages and I could not put this book down. Bleeding Love was everything that I could ask for. It was a gripping, beautiful, and touching tale of second chances and love.

#BleedingLove_harper

I honestly don't want to spoil anything for the readers because this book must be savored, read and experienced. But I will just say this Ms. Harper wrote an epic beautiful tale of love and starting over. The love story of Megan and Liam was raw, passionate, tangible, and palpable. It was a love story that made you believe in happily ever afters. A love that was unforgettable. I laughed, cried, swooned, cried again, and fell in loved with Megan, Molly and Liam.

Liam Beckett was just perfection. He needs to be put on a pedastal because he was swoon-worthy and the ideal book boyfriend. Forget book boyfriend because Liam is book husband material. He was caring, understanding, patient, and had a heart of gold. He understood the emotional turmoil of Megan and her loss of losing of her husband and best friend, Jack. And what I loved about this book, Liam accepted that Jack will always be part of Megan and Molly. There was no jealousy but just pure honest love. Liam Beckett alone is enough justification to read this book.

#BleedingLove2

The raw emotions and beautiful heartwarming tale of second chances was so tangible throughout Bleeding Love. I loved every facet and elements that Ms. Harper incorporated into this book. The characters were fun, lively, real, and honest. The writing was addicting and beautifully well done. And for any romance junkie, Bleeding Love has every elements that I crave and want from humor, love, friendship, raw emotions, lovable characters, and lastly but not least a swoon-worthy hero. So if you are looking for a book that can break your heart and slowly mend and piece back the pieces, then Bleeding Love is the book for you.

3.5 Stars. This was good. Pretty low drama. Good plot. Strong leads. However the audiobook has a defect that gives away the ending at about half way and then repeats again at the end. That was disappointing and confusing but overall, I liked the story.

3 solid "Baby" Stars!

So I may be in the minority here with my rating. I liked this book...I just didn't fall head over heals in love with it as in previous books.

Liam Beckett is quite possibly the most amazing book boyfriend ever. He is a deep old soul that loves and gives big. He cant help but fall hard for a single mom whose light is dimmed by past tragedy and recent loss. Megan came into the Axel Corp offspring's crew when Cohen introduced the widowed mom. She has now been part of the crew as they welcomed her and took in her young daughter Molly like there own.

The best thing in this book is well...Liam Beckett! "Lee" is just solid. He is so totally loyal and true to his word. He would save the world with just one of his hugs. Along with that strong sexy stability is a passionate man who can bring the heat! His talk alone dampens the panties!

While Megan needed time and some Lee push to "get there," there was no real drama in the love story. Their future was already written...she just needed to believe!

So my two second rant is that I found the whole story to be a bit repetitive. From the beginning this was a man chasing a woman in hopes to make her his forever. He wanted Megan and Molly for the rest of his life and there would be no stopping him. So many "darlings"..."babys"...and a lot of "do you see it?"..."can you feel it?" moments. I felt like Liam was giving the same speech over and over. I wanted to yell, HELL YES...I FEEL IT! I mean why couldn't she? Oh well, she was too buried in her own guilt and heartbreak.

Moving onto that hot sexy bedroom time now! Overall, this was a good addition to the foundation Harper Sloan started with Axel. I am totally enjoying the offspring and I am really looking forward to more. I for one cannot wait for Nate to get his world rocked...and Maddie as well!

3 stars!

A few years ago, Megan lost her husband and father of her beautiful daughter, Molly.
From that moment, Megan has pulled through just for her daughter's sake, but the light in her eyes is gone. She shut down and she doesn't let anyone in, except for Molly.
Liam has felt a connection with Megan from the first moment and he will try everything in his power to bring her back to life.

"I know what I want. I know who I want.
I also know in order to have those things, I will be fighting the hardest fight I've ever fought.”

But will Megan be able to let Liam into her life? Will she be able to open up to someone else again?

This story was about trust. Megan has been through a lot in her life and she is scared to hurt again. The only way to protect herself is to keep everyone at arm's length.

I really liked Megan, I could feel her struggle and I loved to see her feel and live again.
I liked Liam too, he was amazing to Megan and Molly, he was sweet, caring, affectionate and patient.

"A love worth having, is worth fighting for.”

My favorite character in this book was Molly. This little girl stole my heart!

I liked and enjoyed this story, but something was missing and Liam sometimes was a bit too sweet and cheesy.

With that being said, I still recommend this book to Harper Sloan's fans, you definitely don't want to miss this one!

"A love worth having, is worth fighting for."

Bleeding Love is a second chance story of grief, guilt, healing, pain, and immense love. Harper Sloan once again has me swooning and on my knees wishing for a love, like Liam and Megan's.

One thing I love about Harper's heroines is their undeniable strength and Megan had it in spades. Even in the moments where the darkness threatened to pull her under she fought through. She wasn't able to see the beauty in life past her guilt filled grief. But Liam manages to sneak up on her and steals her heart; making her feel alive for once in her life.

"Before I had no ashes left to be reborn from, because the pain burned too strong. But now, because of the burn of his love on our life, taking away the ashes left from my guilt and suffering, I just know the new life born from the last will be overrun with love and happiness."

Kudos to Harper for writing the best stories with kids! First it was Cage with little Cohen and now Bleeding Love with Molly aka Little Bird. I couldn't help but picture your daughter, Harper, Miss A, each time I read about Molly .

Liam is an alpha just like his father. They were cut from the same cloth and this beautiful story felt so much like a flashback to John and Dee's story and the hardships they went through to be together. It made my heart flutter. It's hard to pinpoint the exact moment I fell in love with Liam Beckett . He has such a beautiful soul and hello ladies, he's a sexy cop as well. Oh and let's not forget about his knee-melting smile. But the moments I loved most was seeing him with Molly . Those moments made my heart hurt and brought tears to my eyes. Liam Beckett is everything!

"I felt it. When she finally let go and gave me all of her. It was a moment that rocked me straight to my core. I don't know what I did in my life to deserve her love but whatever it was I'll spend the rest of my life making sure I'm worthy of that gift."

This story had me smiling from ear to ear. I loved every moment of it, especially having beloved characters from previous books make cameos (Axel, Izzy, Dee, John, and of course Sway!) It doesn't matter how many books I read by Harper Sloan , I'll always love them. You have a fan for life, lady. You're stuck with me! Lol.

Bleeding Love brings us the story of Liam and Megan. Before I fall all over myself when writing about Liam, let us focus a bit on Megan.

Single mom.
Widow.
Lost.
Broken.

This poor woman. There is no feeling, no living – she’s barely even existing. If not for her little girl, Molly she would have faded into the background long ago.

Megan was introduced to us during Unexpected Fate when Cohen brings her into the fold after her husband who was serving with Cohen is killed. And although Dani has wiggled her way into a friendship with Megan, she hasn’t really penetrated fully. It isn’t until Liam decides he’s waited long enough and is ready to push past all her barriers that we start to see the real Megan.

Liam Beckett. *Sigh* He was so Beck’s son. Imagine all the alpha-ness that has existed with these characters and then times that by ten and you might get close to what we get with Liam. He hasn’t really considered settling down, but he knows when he does he wants a love like his parents have. A love that is everything. It isn’t until Megan shows up that he feels that spark. Something that makes him feel like this is it. She’s the one. But he has one heck of a uphill climb when it comes to getting Megan to take the love he is offering.

I loved that in this particular book the drama was the unfolding of the relationship and Megan conquering her pain. We didn’t get a lot of outside influence or suspenseful moments because those truly would have detracted from the story that needed to be told.

These two were off the charts hot together – some of the sexiest writing to date from Mrs. Sloan! But the sweet that was tucked away in this novel is what made this fantastic for me. Molly stole the show and the hearts of everyone. Watching all these macho men interact with this little girl created some of my favorite scenes from the book.

The only thing that sort of weighed on me a bit during reading this was the voice of Liam. Don’t get me wrong, I loved him. A lot. But there were a few moments where he seemed much older in the way he spoke and demanded of Megan. His alpha was turned all the way up – and although I love that... it just felt a bit more mature for his age, if that makes any sense.

With Bleeding Love, I think Harper tells her most emotional story to date and although I’ve enjoyed the prior book and characters I think there is something about the Hope Town Series that will make this my favorite of hers. Maybe it is the growth of her writing now that she has a handful of books under her belt, or maybe it’s because we sort of fell in love with these characters in the brief moments we met them as kids...

I am looking forward to Nate’s story up next. He had some great moments in this story and I am can’t wait to see love knock him on his ass.

Megan lost her husband a few years ago and is now left with her daughter and no one else. Alone in the world she doesn't know how to open up to her new found friends, and she especially doesn't know how to accept Liam as a part of her and her daughter's life. Liam is done waiting though, and he is going to make Megan his and show her how to feel alive again. He won't take no for an answer and he'll use all his skills to get what he wants.

Bleeding Love was such a beautiful story and for a lot of it my eyes were doing that stupid thing where they leak. Liam was so kind and patient with Megan and pushed her to come back to the land of the living again so she didn't miss out on her life. He fell in love with her the second he looked into her eyes and saw the pain and the life battling to be free. From that moment he was determined to be the person that helped her defeat the sadness.

After half of the book of Liam being super sweet and caring and just overall loving, I just couldn't take any more! It became too sweet and lovey dovey, and I just started to roll my eyes at Liam. He was a little alpha and pushy in getting Megan to open up but then he just became sickly sweet and always had to mention how much he loved her and have these overly sweet conversations about his love.

Megan finally opened up to Liam about her past and he was understanding and helpful but then that was it and it just went back to more mushiness. I liked the overall story and it was really touching but I just couldn't handle anymore talk about love. I liked the book and recommend it to just everybody because this author is amazing, sadly though, this book just wasn't my favorite of hers.

I think Harper Sloan should rename he series from Hope Town to Swoon Town. This book is a sweet, tender and steamy. A pure swoony escape!

Megan has loved and felt the grief and pain of loss. She’s emotionally done, mentally drained, and spiritually dead. She’s created a shield around her heart. Trying keeping herself and her young daughter Molly at arm’s length from everyone for fear of having to go through that horrible feeling of loss again. But while cocooning herself, she’s forgotten how to live. Until Liam Beckett came into her life and slowly started to chip away at her walls.
“Not only am I fighting for someone that can’t see through the shadows to find the rope I’m holding to pull herself off rock bottom, but I’m also fighting the ghosts of her past that I’m not sure will let her go long enough to make that climb.”

Liam has known Megan for close to two years. From the moment he laid eyes on her he was hooked. Falling for her a bit each time he got to see her and get to know her a little more. But the waiting is over and now he’s determined to make her see the wonderful potential they have together, the beauty in life, and make her realize that “a love worth having is a love worth fighting for.”
“You just have to take my hand and let me take care of your heart.”

A story about surviving grief and going on to find love? Definitely appealing. A book with a determined alpha male who perfectly knows the value of love and life, who is willing to go through any and all hoops to get the girl? Impossible to ignore! And I’m so happy I got the chance to read it.

Liam Beckett is absolutely perfect. He isn’t just unwavering in what he wants, which is to bring to life a woman full of beauty and strength. It was incredibly touching how understanding he is, how he shows Megan he doesn't want to replace a husband or a father. That he wants to totally and absolutely be with someone he knows will make his life undeniably happy while he does the same in return.
“Last chance… I will never make you regret taking that step. You ready to jump from that chapter you’ve been skimming through and skip into mine?”

So he plans, he’s patient and perceptive, he asks for help from his friends and parents, the latter being absolutely adorable, and he pushes Megan to live a beautiful, fulfilling life. That doesn’t mean it will be easy.
“I’m counting, Megan, because I want you more than I’ve wanted anything in my life and that frustrates the sh!t out of me because you either can’t or won’t see it. I need you to see it, baby.”

I felt so much for Megan, not just for the loss of her husband but for the difficult life she had lead before and for the half-life, filled with guilt and fear she was going through.
“The part I struggle with the most is the feelings Liam Brings into my cold, painful life. They are so much more powerful than what I ever felt for the husband that saved me.”

But I was so glad she had the fortitude to get past the last stage of grief, move on and be happy. Especially with that incredibly adorable girl of hers who repeatedly stole the show.
“Yay! That means you’re mine too. I get to keep you and I’m never, ever, ever going to give you away! Do you want a makeupover?”

There was also no shortage of steam. I loved how good Lee and Megan were together. Their chemistry is undeniably off the charts.
“I don’t think I was able to form a sentence that would make sense until just now.”
“Yeah?”
“You, Liam, kiss me stupid.”

The story was made complete with the awesome second generation of Corps Security guys and girls who initially took in Megan, the cameos by Izzy, Axel from Axel(Corps Security #1), Dee and Beck from Beck(Corps Security #3). They’re a wonderful group to have around and make you want to be part of it.

I had just one small pet peeve regarding the story. Even though these books can be read as standalone, I feel as though I missed part of Megan and Lee’s story and felt their relationship moved a bit too fast. This could be because I haven’t read Unexpected Fate, book #1 in the Hope Town series. But it’s something I could easily overlook given my overall enjoyment of the story.

Bleeding Love is the second book in the Hope Town series (a Corps Secury spinoff) by Harper Sloan. It is a standalone, full-length, contemporary romance full of poignant, sweet, sexy times and swoon worthy moments. Told from both points of view, with a happy ending.

Bleeding Love is a heartwarming novel about Megan, a young widow trying to find a new life for herself and her five year old daughter. Megan works as an author but she has become an insecure mess. She still feels devastated from her husband’s sudden death three years ago. She lives in despair, guilt and anxiety. She is not just heartbroken but also traumatized and haunted by painful memories.

Liam is a good honorable guy and a cop. Since he firstly set his eyes on Megan, he was utterly charmed by the devastatingly beautiful woman and her lovely daughter. His life changed irrevocably to the exciting, romantic, loving. He saw the sorrow and darkness in her eyes and he was bound and determined she should be happy…with him!! Megan tried to fight the attraction to him, but he made it impossible.

In a moment of weakness they gave in to their carnal desires. He let her breathe in his passion, let herself go and see not with her eyes but with her heart. It only took a single passionate night to change them forever. Since that night, Megan is determined to forget it and leave it behind out of guilt but Liam is patiently waiting for the right moment to re-approach her.

Megan, still licking her wounds after her beloved husband’s death, is determined to turn away the chance for happiness that Liam offers her. Liam knows without a doubt that she is the one and he’s ready to fight for her. He wants to make her feel again and to push her to the brink of change!

Can Liam protect and care for Megan without scaring her away? What happens when your heart doesn’t listen to your head?

Megan feels nobody in the world can understand her pain, but Liam sees through her pain and recognizes her need to feel wanted again! But, when Megan reveals her dark secrets to him, secrets that only her husband knew, she has the sinking feeling that Liam will turn away from her. Liam, however, proves her that love is more powerful than the forces of negativity and anger and can drive those negative feelings and emotions away and replace them with peace and harmony. Because, love is the most powerful weapon!

The flow and pace of the storyline was an easy one to follow and the depth it developed. Liam is so adorable in his reactions to Megan. And the chemistry they have is wild and hot! Megan proves her strength by overcoming her sorrow, and Liam proves his strength by being a protector.

It was a crazy emotional whirlwind, but in the best possible sense. All the characters stood out as genuine and not fake. This is a great story of love, friendship, grief and how to deal with it along with moving on. I highly recommend it.

2.5 Somewhat Indifferent Stars

Ok it’s official when it comes to the writing in the books in this series, there is just something that ensures I don’t develop a strong connection to the characters, and events. There are some heavy themes in the book and yet their depiction lacks the intensity and emotional potency it should have. There’s a veneer of superficiality that is hard to ignore and meant that I couldn’t truly sink in to the tale unfolding.

Also the sex scenes were just – skim worthy – they felt very similar to the scenes in book one and just lacked heat.

10 stars...bring your Kleenex

I was up at midnight finishing another book when this appeared on my Kindle. How I resisted starting this immediately, I do not know. As soon as I woke up....didn't get out of the bed until I finished.

IT IS AMAZING!!!! I cried not once but twice. Liam is so SMOKING HOT!! And if you've read any of Corps Security books you know that this boy knows how to use it. Megan had herself so wall-ed up to not get hurt. Liam, and their friends and family, never gave up on her. I would so love to see her daughter Molly's tea parties and makeupovers she did with Axel, and Nate, and Liam. I mean Axel with lipstick....just the picture. Can't wait to see who's going to fall next. I hope Nate.

Let me start with O-M-G...the FEELS...the glorious, glorious FEELS. No joke, I shed plenty of heart wrenching, gut twisting, cheesy grinning tears. Liam and Megan's story is a beautiful one of learning to trust yourself, trust your heart, and trust your mind. It's about learning to trust the person willing to give you all of their self. It's about learning to let yourself forgive, to let go of an all consuming pain and letting yourself heal.

I don't know any other way to say it other than I simply adored Liam and Megan. If you read Unexpected Fate (Hope Town #1) you know Megan's story and the great loss she suffered and was dealing with. In Bleeding Love you watch her come alive and live again. With her amazing little girl, Molly, by her side, the one shining light in her life holding her together, she struggles with a guilt so intense she almost doesn't know how not to carry that burden any more.

In steps Liam. Brash, flirty, sexy as hell, stubborn, persistent, and of course ALL ALPHA, as only Harper Sloan can deliver. Liam pushes Megan until all she can do is finally give into him. And when she does it's obvious they are fated. Liam never gives up on Megan, never lets a moment pass to let her know he wants more than just her body. His mission is to teach her to not just exist but live again and his mission is an amazing and wonderful one. When she doubts, he holds strong. When she questions, he holds stronger. When she fears, he refuses to let go.

Smart, sweet and sexy, Bleeding Love is not to be missed. I always feel like there is that one book in a series that is its heart. And maybe it's too soon to dub Bleeding Love the Hope Town series heart but that's how I feel because this story is all heart. There is no crazy roller coaster of will they, won't they, or outside forces tearing them apart. There is a physical and emotional tie that binds these two on a healing path to forever after.

***

Bleeding Love is book two in the Hope Town series. I guess you could get away with reading it on its own but there are spoilers about book one, Unexpected Fate's couple Dani and Cohen, if you haven't read it. Plus UF is an amazing read, so you should definitely start at the beginning.

♦ 5+ "Feeling Alive" Stars!♦

This was so SO amazing and beautiful. I am in love with Lee, Megan and Molly! <333
Bleeding Love is the second book in Harper Sloan's Hope Town series, and this time it follows the love story between Liam "Lee" Beckett (son of Dee and Beck from the Corps Security series) and Megan, a widow who is still suffering and mother of the loveliest girl in the world (Molly).

"Feels like heaven [...] Everything, darlin'. Feels like everything."
"I feel it. [...] I feel it, Lee."
"Finally."

Harper Sloan is one of my favourite authors and again, she didn't disappoint with this story. Lee is a younger version of Beck and that tells you everything. He fights for Megan and Molly with everything he has and it is beautiful to read who they finally win, together. The three of them make an adorable family and, as always, it is good to read about the other characters from different books.

I cried, I laughed and I enjoyed it till the end. I wanted more and more! Now, I have to wait for the next book, which I have seen it will be about Nate Reid, YAAAAAY!!!

So, as I always say, if you like to read a beautiful, emotional, hot love story, this book is for you! Enjoy!

3.75 stars.

Megan's life fell apart the day the Army came knocking to inform her, her husband had been killed in combat. After Cohen takes her under his wing and brings her into the Corp's security fold, she's finally starting to piece the broken parts back together.

Liam Beckett has grown up knowing what a great love is. With parents like Beck & Dee, he has high expectations, but he knows that once he's found the woman for him, he'll spend the rest of his life doing everything he can to keep her.

Liam has been drawn to Megan from the moment they met and although he's sat back and let her stew over their drunken one night stand, he's done waiting and now it's time to claim his woman.

I loved how patient Liam was with Megan, but how he also pushed her enough to make her see that life still goes on. He had a great balance of Alpha and sweet going on, just like his Father Beck. I loved Megan too, she wasn't afraid to put up a fight when it came to Liam, but as with all alpha males he managed to get right under her skin and into her heart.

This was such a touching read and what made it extra special was the relationship Liam developed with Megan's daughter, that little girl had such a big impact on how this story unfolded. We also get to catch up with the rest of the gang and even some of our old Corp's Security favourites.

Bleeding Love is the second book in the Hope Town series, but can be read as a stand alone, this told from Duel POV's.

If your a lover of Alpha Males and haven't picked up any of Harper's books, I recommend starting with the Corp's Security Series followed by this series.

I so wanted to give this more stars. I ADORE HS and her series of books. For sure an Auto-buy. However, I felt like this story spent an absurd amount of time and detail with these characters explaining their love and adoration towards each other. It literally got to the point where I was just flipping pages waiting to get to a point that wasn't these two discussing how they finally "see" what is in front of them or that the h needs to explain over and over that she "feels" what "this" is.
Except for the first probably 25% (it started off amazing), the book was not entertaining, exciting or really anything other than filled to the brim with the above mentioned "talks". I swear if Lee mentioned one more time that he needed to talk to the h before they had sex or played around, I was gonna call for a d*ck check because someone was missing his.
Again, love the author, will for sure read more, but sorely disappointed and bored with this read.

bleeding love it's live

A tale of a second chance at love and moving forward.

What would you do if the love of your life died and left you and your young daughter behind?

Meg believed in the kind of love that lasts forever until fate stepped in and took that all away. Now feeling her world crumbling around her, she feels lost in grief and trying to make ends meet.

Now enter Liam Beckett. Those of you who don’t remember, Liam is Dee and Beck’s son from the Corps Security series. He’s all grown up now and is determined to win over the heart of Meg—the one who is keen on keeping her heart closed from getting it broken again.

Can Liam break down her barriers and convince Meg to take a chance on him? At life again? And Meg. Can she let go of the past to make way for a future with Liam? To feel happy again?

A bitter sweet at first, turned raw, emotional, and beautiful love story that will tug at your heart strings and make you fall in love with the Corps men and their world all over again! I LOVED alpha Liam! That’s for sure!!

Loved this book, but I have to admit

Great book, but I kinda wish that Harper Sloan would put a family tree at the end with the names of the parents and kids and the books they are in.

Rhayne's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

Bleeding Love is book two in the Hope Town series and I am beginning to think I like this spin off series more than I did the Corps Security series. I never thought that was possible. This book totally consumed me for an entire day. I got lost in the troubled yet beautiful world that Liam and Megan share with us.

This is so much more than a simple story about moving on from the death of a loved one to claim new happiness. It’s filled with layers and layers of secrets, guilt, sadness, heartache and finally healing and love.

Megan and Jack shared not only a marriage, but a lifetime of friendship. He was her protector and her strength when she needed it most. After
losing him depression set in, she buried all her happiness under a blanket of guilt and couldn’t let go.

Liam is determined to get Megan to live life again. He knows she is the one he wants to spend his life with and he is not going to let her push him away. I loved how he was determined and bossy, yet understanding and patient all at the same time.

These two were absolutely perfect for each other. Their chemistry is off the charts and their passion is scorching. Even though Meghan is having a hard time accepting and expressing the feelings she has for Liam, and she is fighting every step of the way, I didn’t feel the negativity of that pull the story down. If anything it just made you hope with every new chapter she would finally overcome her past and grab hold of what he was offering.

Not only is Liam the right man for Megan, but he is amazing with Molly, Megan’s daughter. She added a layer of cuteness and humor that balanced out the sadness and darkness perfectly. To watch all the men fall in love with her and to witness the bond she forms with Liam melted my heart.

I love the way she incorporated the characters from The Security Corps series into the story. It ties it altogether and gives you a chance to keep in touch with the original cast.

This is the perfect book for any romance lover. It’s a little bit dark, a little bit funny, a little bit emotional, a little bit sweet, and it’s all wrapped around a whole lot of sexy.
