Ted Berner grew up in the Mountains of Montana where he and his wife currently live on a ranch with several four-legged furry friends. Besides raising horses and Bernese Mountain Dogs, Berner is also an airline pilot and spends a few hours each week traveling around the country at thirty-five thousand feet.

Ted started his writing career in 2010 when he became fascinated with a mysterious civilization that is only briefly mentioned in the Bible. The topic of the Nephilim, the giants from the Bible, is such an intriguing subject that Berner has been a guest speaker on several shows, including Caravan to Midnight with John B. Wells and Late Night in the Midlands with Michael Vara.

Who are we and why are we here? How did this world that we live in come into existence? The Bible may shed some light on these issues, but is there even more to it? What happened all those eons ago to put all of what we know into motion? Who or what is God? Ted believes life is a gift and plans to use his to get to the bottom of some of these age-old questions.

"It was this verse in the Bible, Genesis 6:4, that fueled the fire in me to pursue some answers and continues to be a passion of mine to this day. The only thing I can say for sure is there appears to be fingerprints everywhere I look of something much greater." T. D. Berner

What if any trace of an ancient and advanced civilization were lost to obscurity and the only crumb left to follow in search of their story was a brief Bible verse that raised as many questions as it gave information? What if more about their existence was omitted from the Bible? Wouldn’t you wonder why? Wouldn’t you wonder who made this decision to manipulate a tome that speaks to the very soul of millions throughout the ages? Follow a college student whose curiosity becomes a raging need to know what happened to these people who were part of the bedrock of our history, who were able to do seemingly impossible feats without the aid of contemporary knowledge or tools.

PROOF by Ted D. Berner is the story of Ty Larson’s quest for answers as we follow him from libraries to biblical scholars, to ancient ruins and lands known to hold miraculous feats of architecture. How were the pyramids built? What about the ruins in Peru? Are the modern day theories, just a guess?

Ty will follow the clues he gains, sometimes through luck or good fortune, sometimes almost as if someone wanted him to get closer to the true answers that have evaded history. Then again, others would stop at nothing to thwart him.

If you are fascinated by the search for unknown answers, the adventure of a seemingly monumental quest, the possibility that one otherwise unremarkable young man could actually get closer to the answers that lie in the shadows of time, you will find PROOF to be one heck of a ride.

Ted. D. Berner does not try to wow us with overly done and overly weighted prose, he tells us a story of possibilities, of the wonders of discovery through Ty’s journey. Blending known facts with speculation and fictitious license, Mr. Berner has created a fascinating, speculative tale in simple terms. Certainly worth the read, because those of us who have ever thought about the “what ifs” in life are always looking for that story that might just have the answers!

I received a complimentary copy from Ted Berner! My review is voluntary.

I spent 4 years researching for this novel and was amazed at how many stories from around the world back up what the Bible only briefly mentions in Genesis 6:4. There is a sequel in the works and I'm very excited to share the final chapter of "Proof the Novel" with everyone.

Genesis 6:4 is a thought-provoking verse from the Bible, strongly suggesting that there once were giants (Nephilin) born from unions between fallen angels and human women. Many Bible scholars believe that the verse only refers to the sons of Seth (Sethites – Godly) and daughters of Cain (Cainites – evil). Most Bible scholars agree that the reason God sent the flood to destroy the earth was due to the evilness of mankind. But could it in fact have been to destroy the Nephilin?

It’s this Bible verse that college student Ty Larson decides to research for a course paper. The deeper he gets into his research, the more strange things happen in Ty’s life, leading him to realize that he’s not the only one interested in this subject. His quest takes him to Egypt, Lebanon and Argentina with danger pursuing him all the way.

This is a very interesting fictional book that is based on facts, Biblical studies and myths and fables that many people believe are actually true. I think the author does an excellent job in racketing up the suspense and in spiking interest in the Nephilin (did they all perish in the flood?) and massive stone structures (how could they have been made with primitive tools?). This is the type of book that raises more questions than answers but that isn’t a bad thing.

I enjoyed this fast-paced book but was a bit disappointed in the ending, which is a cliff hanger. The author is working on the sequel. I wish I had known that before I chose to read the book as I would have preferred to wait until the sequel came out so I could read both books closer together. I tend to forget details in books if there’s a long period between reading a series such as this. But I am interested in reading the sequel, which the author has promised will reveal the purpose of the Great Pyramid of Giza, the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle and what the phenomenon of ghosts are.

I believe this book will cause many of its readers to become interested in the possibility of Nephilin actually existing at one time and will encourage them to look into it further and for that reason alone, the book deserves recognition. If you like Dan Brown conspiracy theory novels or books based on archeology, theology or mythology, this book is for you.

This book was given to me by the author in return for an honest review.

This book made me regret the fact that I hadn't chosen archeology as my major. *Sighs* I received an ebook for an honest review. Proof the Novel is an extraordinary tale in which a single verse from the Bible leads to an incredible discovery. Ty Larson is awesome! I found myself greatly immersed in this book as soon as I started reading it.

There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
Genesis 6:4

This verse from the Bible takes Ty into a web of mystery yet to be discovered. With every clue he uncovered, I was exhilarated. Meanwhile Ty finds himself under surveillance and some people are not who they seem to be. Ted D Burner has beautifully woven his research into a tapestry of art.
First it just seems as if Ty is speculating over myths for his paperwork then turns out to be a tale of adventure and enigma. I drank every word and Intel the author had to provide without even a hint of boredom. I read it in single read!!

“Sometimes, that which we seek is not what we truly wish to find.”

Ty soon find himself used as a pawn for something big at work. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking to be enticed with mystery, Adventure and mythology.

“If you know what your opponent’s hole card is, you can’t let them know that you know.”

I hate to spoil the book anymore than I already have. I am so excited to get my hands on the sequel!

This novel piqued my interest, and since it was free or at a nominal price (I forgot which), I decided to give it a try. The lead-in line was, “There were giants in the earth in those days. Genesis 6:4.” That must have done it for me. I rather expected a tale from antiquity, a historical novel set far in the past.
It turns out that the novel is nothing like I expected. It is a contemporary action-adventure, full of speculative ideas. I certainly have no problem with the concept of giants living in antiquity, since canonical Scripture says so. Even the idea that giants or Nephilim were the unnatural progeny resulting from fallen angels mating with human women does not seem to me to be absurd. Some good Bible scholars agree with this interpretation and the apocryphal Book of Enoch makes this claim, however dubious it might seem.
So, if this was the extent of the extraordinary ideas woven into the plot, I could have easily maintained my suspension of disbelief. But, alas, there were many more strange ideas than these.
The basic plot concerns a young college student named Ty Larson. He takes a course in archaeology and decides to write a term paper on Biblical links to ancient megalithic structures. The decision breaks him out of his normal life into a serious of adventures, and reveals an existential threat to us all.
It is not long before his research draws him close to a beautiful blonde classmate named Celeste. She maneuvers him to investigate the ideas of Edgar Cayce. Cayce was of the opinion that many megalithic structures were built by denizens of the lost continent of Atlantis. Furthermore, the huge blocks of stone were transported by anti-gravity fields produced by sound.
Then it turns out that Ty’s father, Grant, works for the CIA, and he arranges for Ty to see a strange device that might generate a sonic anti-gravity field. Soon, Ty is beset by members of a secret society whose aims are unclear, Nazi descendants of Heinrich Himmler (a key Nazi leader), and various shadowy figures of unknown origin. Before it is over, Ty has traveled to many countries and three continents before encountering the arch villain in his evil lair at the denouement.
What I Liked: Much to my surprise, the writing is pretty good. Berner does a lot more telling than showing. Long lectures on various obscure topics fill many pages. But, still, the tale flowed well. The dialogue sounded realistic. And I only saw a few editing errors.
What I Did Not Like: There were some errors in the author's description of the D. C. area. There were too many subplots and too many wild, unbelievable tales of the weird and occult. It was simply too much for my linear, right brain to cope with. It ends with a cliffhanger, with many of the plot threads unresolved.
This might be the story for you if you like speculative tales placed in the distant reaches of the ozone layer. If you like to wear tinfoil hats, buy this book! I did find it entertaining in spots, but I doubt I will read any of the inevitable sequels.

This was an intriguing book as myself have never thought about the verse in Genesis this way. I do not know what I believe as far as giants and the flood goes. Maybe someday I will get to study Genesis deeper. I loved the suspense and mystery in this novel. I had a hard time putting this book down there were many times I fell asleep reading because I refused to put it down. Like many first time authors that send me their books the ending is disappointing. Many new authors leave cliff hangers in hopes of you reading their other books and this one was no different. I am looking forward to the sequel.

I Love A Good Mystery💀
The Truth of Ancient History Combined with a Fictional Thriller!💀🔪🔫

The ancient Old Testament Book of Enoch holds many secrets that college student, Ty, is researching for a paper. An ancient copy of this book was found with The Dead Sea Scrolls in 1947 by Bedouin Shepards in a desert cave. True.

The mention of Giants👺 in the Earth🌍 fascinated Ty because he knows that huge stones weighing hundreds of tons each, were somehow moved in prehistoric times to build ancient temples🌁. Were they moved by these giants👺 that were described in the Book of Enoch as sired by God's sons who married human women and begat these giants👺?! True.

The theory that huge objects could somehow be moved or levitated by sound, or sound waves has also been explored since the 19th century by inventors and scientists! The Old Testament cites several examples, such as the walls of Jericho being destroyed by the trumpet playing🎺 of Joshua and his soldiers.

Luckily, Ty's father, Grant, is a CIA agent, because Ty's research is attracting unwanted and possibly dangerous interest from unknown, but stealthy sources. He is being followed!

This is a fascinating and thought provoking novel that gives us many " what if" or "could it be" scenarios to think about!I
The book ends in a cliffhanger that the author assures us will be culminated in his next book, due out later in 2021!

The book, with the immense amount of research work that has gone into it, could have become technical and also difficult to comprehend. The author does impressively well here by keeping the language simplistic and easy to comprehend. The fact that what he has researched over four years, is presented in the form of a fictional book, makes it an interesting read. I quite liked some of the lines in this book. Here are my favourites –

There is never any coincidence
That which we seek is not what we truly wish to find

I am not religious, I have never read the bible. I did go a primary school that was religious, so I do know some things. So now that you know my life onto the review. I found this book really interesting. I like how the Author took all his research and made it into a story. It sucks you in and makes you go hmm I didn’t know that. Wow, really that many things say that? This book leaves you with questions and makes you think about things you wouldn’t normally think about.

Because a huge amount of it is research, sometimes your not sure what is the research and what is the Author dramatizing to make the novel. So you are in some area left going, I wonder if that is fact or not.

I'm rating this 4 stars , because I can't rate it 3.5.

I feel like this book ended quicker than it should have, and that something is left out. when I finished, I didn't feel like the book actually ended, but maybe there is a second one coming.

spoilers

Mixing fact and fiction, the story follows a man named Ty, who is obsessed with finding nephilim, who are the offspring of the sons of god, giants, ect. He goes to different places trying to get answers about the book of Enoch, and starts having people basically stalk him , having him unknowingly lead them to the nephilim. The events leading up to the end make you wonder if violence will be involved when it comes to Ty, but it's anything but that.

Some things I liked about this book, I actually learned things about people I've never heard of, and learned a little more about some places mentioned in the book. I found myself going to the internet looking into some of the people/places mentioned in the book quite a bit. It did hold my interest.

Some things I did not care for, repetition of words. There seemed to be quite a bit of apparent assessment of situations all throughout the book (mentioned nearly 50 times). I also found the wrong spelling for 'woman' ;
"Lured into a trap by a beautiful women months ago..."

Other than that , I did like this book. I would read more from this author.

When the author approached me regarding a review, and told me that fans of Dan Brown would love this, I was a tad sceptical. I mean, that's a big claim. Nevertheless, my interest was piqued.

I am pleased to report that the claims are correct. This is indeed a very Dan Brown-esque type of book. Rarely have I spent so much time looking up references, just to get a better understanding of the matters raised within the story.

My issue with this book, and it is more of a niggle really, is that, given his major, and who his Dad is, Ty really seems very very unaware of anything going on around him. Noticeably so.

That said, this is a book which raises more questions than answers, and then leaves the reader hanging with that tantalising ending. I look forward to reading book 2.

The premise of this novel--determining whether there is any truth to the legends in the Bible, instead of merely interpreting them literally--is quite fascinating, and the author does a good job of presenting the different explanations. He builds the suspense by introducing the evidence over the course of the story, instead of all at once. The connection between levitation and the force behind the Nazi "Bell", in offering an explanation for lifting heavy blocks into place to build ancient monuments, is particularly intriguing, if a bit implausible. While the ending is a bit stale, with the overused old Nazi/ancient alien combination, this was, overall, a worthwhile and entertaining read, and I look forward to more from this author.

"Many unbelievable [mythological] stories had a grain of truth embedded in them somewhere."

We’ve all had that itch of curiosity tickling the back of our minds whenever we come across articles detailing ancient civilizations and their seemingly impossible accomplishments. After all, despite the fact that we label them ancient, several archaeological findings point to the possibility of those civilizations being more advanced than us.

Ty Larson, son of a CIA agent and an individual with a knack for investigation, chooses to pursue this itch with full force when a class project lands him face-to-face with a Bible verse that catches the eye:

Genesis 6:4

“The Nephilim were on the earth in those days-and also afterward-when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.”

Putting on his Sherlock hat, Ty delves into this mysterious quote and turns this simple class project into a full out investigation.

As Ty’s curiosity takes him further and further into this mystery that surrounds several ancient texts that seem to coincide with one another, he soon finds himself locked in a conspiracy that spans decades. Secret organizations, ODESSA, S.O.J., Nephilim, Atlantis, psychics, levitation, the Great Flood — the seemingly unconnected points Ty stumbles upon slowly begin to converge as he continues on his journey. Soon Ty’s investigation takes him across the ocean, and he is left wondering whether he is leading himself to answers or if he is being led to them. All of these aspects build to both a large payoff and a cliffhanger at the end of the novel.

The author’s research and passion for the subject shines brightly through this speculative novel via both Ty’s thoughts and perspective in a stream of consciousness style.

Interspersed between Ty’s thoughts and theories are scenes of suspense that had me at the edge of my seat. Ty’s paranoia regarding who to trust and who to distrust seeped through the pages; and as each new character was introduced, I found myself questioning their motives as well.

What should be most praised about this novel is the extensive research the author undertook regarding all of these biblical verses and mythological topics and the similarities between them. The author managed to condense this information in an easy to understand manner through the lens of the lead character’s thoughts.

Having taken Ancient to Medieval Art History in college as a requirement, I quickly found myself connecting Ty’s discoveries with the topics I had learned in class. Things like how similar ancient art styles appear in different geographical locations and how a great flood is mentioned by numerous texts from different continents. As I read through Larson’s discoveries throughout the novel, I felt as if I was researching everything right alongside him (which, honestly, I sort of was).

As I mentioned earlier, the novel ends on quite the cliff hanger! With that being said, I look forward to the next entry and will probably re-read this book again to catch any details I may have missed.

Anyone who is into ancient history, mythology, modern conspiracy theories, and the mysteries of ancient civilizations should definitely give this a read!

Proof the Novel by Ted D. Berner is a suspenseful mystery based on a quote from the Bible about giants living on earth. Having to take only one more class to graduate, Ty Larson meets a beautiful woman who is about to enroll in an archaeology class. Thinking he would like to know her better, he also enrolls in the class and then gets sucked by the possibility of there having been giants roaming the earth. As he researches the topic, Ty meets strange people and realizes that he is being manipulated, but to what cause?

Unfortunately, the book leaves us with more questions that answers. Who is manipulating Ty? Why is he "special?" What will happen to Ty and his father? Will the conspirators unleash an evil force into the world and if so, will Ty be able to change the outcome? To get the answer you have to purchase the sequel.

The premise of Proof the Novel is interesting but the pace is slow and somewhat repetitive, especially in the first half of the novel. As the mystery develops the story becomes more exciting. I would have preferred to see this installment tightened and the mysteries resolved without the cliffhanger and the need to buy the second book. If you don't mind reading a story in two installments, you might enjoy Proof the Novel.

Okay, I'll start by saying that I loved the concept for this book 100 percent. If you know me well, then you'll know that I'm a sucker for anything related to Ancient Mythology. Author Ted. D. Berner was reading through The Bible when he came across a verse that stumped him. Did they really mention giants in the bible? Surely, there is and never was such a thing, or was there?

In Proof, (a fictional novel surrounding this one biblical verse and The little-known Book of Enoch) young Ty Larson is adamant to uncover the truth of such a mysterious legend. Where did these giants originate and who were they?

Science strolls hand in hand with belief in a tale that hooked me from beginning to end. I believe the author to be quite the intellectual as such a demeanor has most certainly rubbed off on Ty as a character.

High stakes and fast paced action had me turning the pages, hungry for more mystery, mythology, and mayhem. I would recommend this to readers aged 13+ who enjoy Fantasy, Sci-Fi, and books with mythological back stories.

This has been my favourite read of the year so far.
Rated 5/5 stars. It's a shame I can't rate it any higher.

I was asked to read and review this book by author Ted D Berner and provided a copy for a fair and honest review. This review is my own opinion and will not be influenced in any way by anyone.
This book is fiction based on Fact, Legend, Bible verse and Archeological findings. Although unsolicited I was very please to see the subject matter, since it i about the question if Giants existed or not. and if so, were they descendants of the sons of God and daughters of man. I find this subject fascinating. Thank you Mr. Berner this will be a fine addition to my collection.
I loved how the author used myth and legend to create a great story. I ove giants , and all mysterious creatures from legend. A real fun read.

I totally enjoyed this work and had a hard time putting it down! I'm amazed at how I was drawn into the mysteries and many unanswered questions right along with the main character, Ty Larson. On many occasions, I found myself comparing this novel to those written by Dan Brown, very intriguing and very suspenseful. This novel left me eager for more of Larson's adventures into the unknown. The second book will be a must read for me.

Although I have just read the last page of this book I can't say I "finished" it because the book doesn't end. The words The End appear but the story didn't. Otherwise a good read tying much of the information currently discussed on numerous television programs into an interesting tale. If this is meant to begin a series, I won't want more.

I couldn't put this book down. It's opened my eyes to a bible verse that I've heard before and made me see new possibilities to things that I've always wondered about like the large monoliths around the world. I even looked up pictures of them as the book talks about them and was fascinated all over again by them. It definitely left me wanting a second installment.

MY THOUGHTS
This book isn't just for Bible readers. It is just about a verse from Genesis 6:4 which will make you stop and think. Think about it, fallen angels mating with human women, producing giants, Nephilin.

There is the thought that the flood God sent was to destroy the earth, because of all the evil in it. But let you mind go in a different direction. What is the flood was to destroy the Nephilins?

The Bible at times is open to interpretation. That is what the reader can do as the pages turn. When you start looking farther into the past, you're likely to discover some very interesting, some very strange, things. Even though the book is a work of fiction, it's based on facts, things that some believe, some studies and some myths. I became very interested in the Nephilin. What became of them? Did the flood destroy them or did some live? As you read you start to come up with more questions and more questions but the answers needed to be found, if they could. All that happened long long ago, put into motions what is today. I had a little problem with the ending. It left you hanging. Perhaps the sequel that the author is working on will answer some questions. Some of the questions will be answered, I'm sure.

Think as you read at the possibilities. Open your mind and just think it may have been possible!

I was given a copy of this book from the author and voluntarily decided to review it.

Genesis 6:4

The Nephilim were on the earth in those days-and also afterward-when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.

This verse peaks Ty Larson’s interest and decides to research this verse for a school paper. The more he researches the more he learns about an ancient civilization that was more advanced than anything we knew about but has been forgotten to time. Ty travels the world finding different locations that relate to this civilization and learning about our own forgotten history. But Ty is not the only one searching for this civilization and not everyone has good intentions for the knowledge.

I really enjoyed this story. I love all the information that you learn about. You can tell that there was a lot of research put into this book. I honestly have never thought about this verse more than a cursory reading, but I love how this book takes a simple verse and turns it into reality.

This is book one and it does end on a cliffhanger. But the second book should be out soon. I can’t wait to see where this story goes next.

I received Proof the Novel from the author for free. This has in no way influenced my opinion of this book.

Proof the Novel by Berner. I received a free copy of this book and volunteered to review it. Besides an unsatisfactory ending, there was only one hiccup - on p.69 - nice neighborhood, rent high. Pg. 70 - rent was cheap, both referring to where the protagonist, Ty, lived. I found the biblical searches interesting, and true as I looked up Genesis 6:4. There was plenty of suspense and clues to the baddies throughout the book. Are the Nephelim true? Did giants exist before and after the Great Flood?

Awesome

This book made me think a lot. I really enjoyed it and I really enjoyed the historical accuracy. It made me buy quite a few books on Amazon about the bible and the Nephilim. It made me really study a lot about what I was wondering about the Bible. It also had me Google a lot of the places he mentioned. I was fascinated to find out that most of the places he mentioned existed.,and had the same problems and the same intriguing ideas as what he wrote in the book. I look forward to part 2 and will definitely purchase it .

Fantastic adventure story based on some of the archaeological mysteries around the world that have baffled experts for centuries.

College student Ty chooses to research the origins of the megalithic structures found in different areas of the world for his archaeology paper. Some say that the structures were built by God-like beings who somehow survived the Great Flood spoken of in the Bible. Ty is determined to get to the truth of the matter, no matter the risk, and no matter who may be watching..

This story reminded me very much of the Indiana Jones franchise. I have heard stories of the Nephilim being the reason for the Great Flood, but have never thought of connecting them with the construction of the pyramids in Egypt and the other megalithic structures around Earth. This was a fascinating book, and I really hope there will be a continuation!

Couldn't put it down

This book is amazing. If you like history, mystery and old knowledge. Then this is a book for you. Most of what I read I knew a little about. I tend to love myths and believe e very myth has truth in it. We just have figure it out sort of like putting a puzzle together without a full picture. I am looking forward to the next book. I recommend this book but beware you won't put it down until you know the outcome.

Initial Reaction: I simply loved this book so much that I read and memorized entire paragraphs and quotes.
Secondary Reaction: This novel reminded me of the X-files hit TV series.
The episode where special Agent Dana Scully investigates the possibility that the descendants of fallen angels and human women might still be alive on planet earth. This novel also resembles a really juicy X-files episode but instead of Special Agents Mulder and Scully we have our hero Ty Larson, a college student, come across puzzling quotes from the bible suggesting that fallen angels rebelled against God, fell in love with human women, and produced half-breeds with supernatural powers. These half-breeds would be half human and half spiritual. The book raises the serious possibilities that a dishonest editing of the bible cut out many books that challenge Orthodox religion in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. It also suggests that these descendants, the Nephilim, may be still walking among us and that sinister forces such as neo-Nazis and government agencies may be hunting them for EVIL reasons.
This novel expertly weaves historical, literary, and archaeological research with fictional heroes and villains to tell a thrilling adventure story.
I would recommend this for: any lover of history, archaeology, and students of religion. I would also recommend this for fans of the X-files and the Indiana Jones films.
After reading this book, the reader will have to decide for him or herself what is true and what is "possible".

A great historical/Biblical mystery about Tyler Larson who comes across a verse in Gensis that sends him spinning down the rabbit hole. Were there really giants thousands of years ago? Were Nephilim real? And are there any trace of them today?

A great, action-packed mystery that surprised me, giving me more than what I bargained for when it came to page turning plot-twists. Absolutely loved it, comes highly recommended.

I really liked this book. It is such an interesting novel even though i found it a little bit confusing and har to read at times, but the research done in order to create this masterpiece have made the book one of my favorites.
This book is a mystery based on a verse from the bible- Genesis 6:4.
I loved the concept of it and really enjoyed it without even stopping.
Highly recommend it!!
