The mother-in-law of nightmares. What's scarier than seeing the threats with your own eyes? Not knowing whether to believe your own eyes - that's what. I don't know how Liz Sinclair can create such anxiety and dread with her writing but it comes across in everything I have read of hers and this book does not disappoint. In this second book in the Adler Family Series (book one is titled Mine - which I also highly recommend, I ARC read both of these books) Hannah and Maya are two sisters-in-law who only want to live their lives with their families, but Eleanor seems in control instead. What do you do when you feel on the outside of your own marriage? Your own children? Do you back down, play the nice guy and let it go, even with the fear of danger headed your way. Or do you stand up, stand your ground and finally break free to live your own life?

This is just so scary, so intense! It's one thing to read a story like this. It's another thing to be a victim. The people in this world who are like Eleanor are very deceptive and if you're not the victim, it's too easy not to see the damage. The first book centered on one thing and everything spread out around it. This book had more goals. No matter what, these books are really worth reading. This author is really, really good. High praise!!!

Eleanor's behavior will blow your mind especially when there's a pattern to it. Maya and Ethan are so excited to find out they're going to have a baby, but that's when things start happening in their home they can't account for like things being moved and they didn't move them. I was so into this book the hours flew by and before I knew it I had it read. Liz Sinclair writes the most intriguing books that once I start them I can't put them down until I finish them that day.

Eleanor is even worse than the stereotypical mother-in-law. She inserts herself into every aspect of Maya’s pregnancy. From rearranging the nursery to letting herself into her son’s house uninvited, the suspense builds as Maya becomes more and more stressed. I found this book quite suspenseful, and I think you’ll enjoy it. Be sure to read Mine first.
