I really liked this book. I liked how when Claire got struck by the lightning everything in her life changed. She wished for alot of things like Eric (the boy she liked) started to like her, her mom got off her butt and went out to apply for some jobs, her mom and dad got back together, and her rival Lyndsey slipped on her porch and got put in a coma. With Eric, he was in a relationship with another girl and then he suddenly started liking Claire and then gave her a wet sloppy kiss. With her mom, her parents split up and her mom was in a state of depression and wouldn't get off of the couch, then she realized that she should get a job and do more things in her day. With her dad, he left them because of a "mid-life crisis" and he was always abusing her mom. With Lyndsey, it was her rival at school and to make it worse, she was dating Eric. She was the most popular girl at schol and she always got the lead in the school play. She was sort of jealous of her because she got whatever she wanted without trying very hard. In the end she realized that her life was fine the way it was before and her life went back to normal.

This book is pretty interesting. It is a short book, exactly 100 pages. In the book a young middle school girl, gets STRUCK by lightning. When that happened she was thinking about all that was wrong in her life, her mom being depressed, the boy of her dreams (Eric,) and much more. Then Everything changes for the better. Her mom is no longer depressed, her crush Eric begins liking her, and she gets the lead in the school play. But not all is fine and dandy. I can't tell you everything, so just read the book!
If you don't really enjoy this is a fast read. It is also and interesting book, which helps you to read it. I would recommend this book to kids that like to read or even if you don't.

Claire finds an umbrella in the trash one day when her mom sends her out to the store in the pouring rain. While holding the umbrella, she is struck by lightning. After that, lots of eerie coincidences take place. Was it because of the lightning strike and the umbrella and the wish Claire made while she was holding it?

An Orca Currents book. A good, solid book - but nothing really special about it to attract struggling reluctant readers, other than the length and readability level.

I thought this book was pretty good. It was not my favorite book though. It's starts out when Claire finds a perfectly good umbrella in the garbage and she uses it. She got struck by lightning and everything changes. She wishes she could just have her old life back. I thought that was interesting because before that, she wanted her life to change. The ending was really interesting to, but I don't want to spoil it. I would probably recommend this book to friends.

Struck is about her failing math and her mother is depressed and the boy of her dreams is dating her nemesis, she wishes she has a good life, but then, Lightning strikes. soon her life changes, and Claire has everything she thought she ever wanted. It doesn't take long before Claire starts to worry that the cost of good fortune may be too high.

My grade eight struggling readers really like this novel and asked to read another Deb Loughead book. I would definitely recommend this book for teens in need of Hi/Low support.
