Baby Bump for the Mafia Boss: A Smutty Accidental Pregnancy Romance

One reckless night with the mafia boss, and he can’t remember it… which is a problem, because two little lines change everything.

Two months ago, my billionaire boss’ helicopter crashed in the snowy mountains, and we were stranded in a tiny deserted cottage. Secrets were revealed, and when we snuggled for warmth in front of the fire, I looked at him with all the longing of four years of being in love with him.

And he said, “F— it.”

In the morning, he claimed he couldn't remember taking my innocence.

Awkward.

So I denied it. Told him nothing happened. I thought we’d carry on as before, me pining for my dangerous, powerful, gorgeous boss.

But now his baby is growing in my belly.

Baby Bump for the Mafia is a sweet and spicy accidental pregnancy romance novella with mutual pining, boss/assistant, a spark of mafia danger, blush-inducing spicy bits, and cute bits that will make you giggle and kick your feet!

CIRCLEJERK of miscommunication!

He’s a mafia man. She’s his assistant. Snowed in & stranded after an assassination ploy they keep warm the only way they can…by rubbing up on each other ❄️🔥 BUT HE THINKS IT WAS A HALLUCINATION?!

The smut was good but the MISCOMMUNICATION killed me! He was willing to be her baby daddy, even though he doesn’t know it’s his baby & she still doesn’t tell him IT’S HIS GODAMN BABY.

Evie Rose has done it with Baby Bump for the Mafia Boss. And as the title states, it starts just with that. The Mafia Boss Dane sees Steffie’s baby bump. I like the flow of the story, going from present to past to building back up to present. For readers who are familiar with the previous books, the Maths Club is mentioned—code for the London Mafia Syndicate. Dane is part of this, and I loved that when Steffie says she has no friends, he gets her some—the Maths Club wives. Yes, they’re back, fully embracing Steffie as part of their posse.

Steffie is a great fit for Dane. I like all the steamy scenes, and that it started spicy, too.

Thank you to Author Evie Rose for the gifted e-copy. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Another 5 insta love novella stars for Evie Rose’s latest release.
This was one of the great ones for me, some of Evie’s Mafia novellas I enjoy as an easy listen palette cleanser, no complaints. This one ticked those boxes plus the whole possessive MMC vibes, perfect confession of love, all the filthy dirty talking with quotes we crave and nicknaming her Princess. This one definitely hit the sweet spot for me!
You won’t find me complaining if I crash land out of a helicopter and find myself in a snow surprised cabin with my Mafia boss! ;)

The narrations by Rex Matteo and Lucy Rivers were excellent done for Stephie and Dane. I was fully immersed!

Thank you for the latest fix Evie. Patiently waiting for the Mafia Bachelor.

•Novella with a HEA
•Mafia Boss MMC
•FMC is his PA
•Miscommunication but it works and it’s a short story so made it alright in my eyes
•Accidental Pregnancy
•Forced proximity (one night shared on the floor)
•Possessive MMC (He steps up to perfection)

Baby Bump for the Mafia Boss was a fast paced entertaining read. If it was longer, maybe we could have gotten to know them better. But for what is was, it was a funny, spicy low commitment mafia boss read.

"I want you on any terms you'll give. I have a hunger for you that's infinite."~Dane😍

"My man loves that he got me pregnant."~Stephie😏

The London's Math Club has another romance to add with older Dane Bridger, Kingpin of Beckton, and his personal assistant Stephie Oliver. She's been wanting her boss for over four years. Never guessing that the feeling is mutual. Dane wants her too. Will he admit his feelings? Will she? There's a 14yr age gap. When the story begins, it's present, with the timeline being 4 months later where they both had survived a helicopter crash and then stayed in a cottage, during the winter, in Scotland. They shared an unexpected night together.🥵💋🥵 It left Stephie with a secret. One that Dane has trouble remembering. Was their night together real or fantasy? His memory is a bit scrambled since he had been drugged by one of his enemies. And Stephie doesn't help the situation by thinking the man is pretending he has a faulty memory. She thinks it's a rejection of her from him.🤦🏻‍♀️ So what do you think she does? The story does go back and explains what happened to lead up to the present situation. I didn't get lost with the storytelling.

Dane seemed distant, grumpy, and detached. At first. So to see this talllll man, 6'7", shady guy go from a cranky dude to saying please, yes, he said please to his princess, to being romantic and sweet is a big surprise.😲 Mob guy has a big heart. Stephie, on the other hand, she lives and breathes Dane. She's devoted. I get it, but her entire focus is solely on him. She has no friends, I guess no family, she even knows she lost any friends she had b/c she's working and only dwells on Dane. Stephie is... obsessed.😂 Girl, you need a hobby or something. Go have some fun. For you.

Dane is all jealous b/c he thinks another man used her and left. How dare some d-bag do that to his Stephie?🤣 He's going to find out who he is and unalive him.🤬 You foolish foolish man!!!🤭 He's going to be this child's father. He'll take care of them both. Do you think Stephie told this man anything at this point? Go ahead and guess. I'll wait.😏🕰️

I enjoyed seeing past characters, the wives of the London's Math Club, paying a visit. Hey ladies.🙋🏽‍♀️💁‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️💁🏻‍♀️

Expect some drama, misunderstandings, the truth but I'm not mad, Dane begging for Stephie ((ohhh, myyy😝)), some humor, all or nothing in sharing feelings, steamy spice, and a new rendition of Old MacDonald Had A Farm.🏡 🚜🎶🎶🎶🎶🔪 Everything happens in the blink of an eye with this story.😁 I enjoyed it. I like the book cover. There's a cute epilogue. Happy reading.*•>§<•*💜💜💜

🚩🚩Read the TWs. 18+ read.🚩🚩

Four months ago, Steffie’s boss stopped showing up to the office, preferring to work remotely all over the world, and asked her to stay behind. When he finally comes back, she knows she needs to tell him something important, but before she can work up the nerve, he notices her slightly visible baby bump.

Dane has wanted his assistant for over 4 years, but always told himself he needed to stay away for her own protection, but 4 months ago they were trapped in a remote cabin after a helicopter crash, and under the influence of drugs, he hallucinated being with her, only to wake up with no recollection of their night together, only her assurances that nothing had happened.

Now, still convinced he never crossed that line, he finds out the father of her baby isn’t in the picture, and offers to take his place, all while planning to finally claim her for himself.

I received a copy of this audiobook from @netgalley and really enjoyed it. It’s a fast paced story with some seriously spicy flashbacks. I loved that the author started in the present, brought us back to THE MOMENT in the past, and then back to the present to deal with the repercussions. It’s sweet how much Dane has always wanted Steffie, and although I basically want to shake him for how things played out in the cabin, watching him step up now was worth the angst.

Snowed in accidental pregnancy with a side of amnesia (sort of)?? Yes please.

I think this installment of the Evie Rose Mafia Universe was a little shorter than the others, but it went by so fast, that might just be me thinking it was short. I normally steer clear of pregnancy in books, but I know the format for these now, so they're safe for me: billionaire and younger heroine both secretly love the other, but there's some *drama* (a baby in this case), then he buys her stuff, they hang out with the London Maths Club, and they get married and have babies.

Evie Rose novellas are always such a good palate cleanser. Perfectly short and sweet with a little spice.

I received an advanced copy of this audiobook for review. All opinions are my own. Thanks to Evie Rose for the ALC!

Thank you to NetGalley and of course the author for the Advance Listener copy of this audiobook.

This is a cute, quick to read/listen to story, though as it is a novella, it’s very short and very surface level.
You don’t have the opportunity to dive deep into the characters, the plot or anything really to be honest. The insta love and complete lack of communication in the 3 hours it took to listen to this was quite hard to take serious/ really care about.

It was a great premise and if I’m honest I think I would have enjoyed it more as a full novel, with more depth to it.

The narrators on this audio were amazing and I will be looking out for more of their work.

This was the perfect audiobook to listen to while getting things done. These two really liked each other but did everything except tell each other! Including one night in particular that sets up the whole story. The narration was well done, I'm a sucker for a mafia boss with an accent and Lucy Rivers? Well, enough said there. Only thing I wanna say is...

Patricia!? Lol!

There’s something about surviving a helicopter crash and being stranded in an isolated cottage with the man you’ve secretly loved for years that has a way of making all those carefully constructed walls come crashing down. Stephie has been in love with her boss, Dane Bridger, for practically as long as she’s worked for him. She’s spent years hiding those feelings behind professionalism, stolen glances, and the knowledge that he would never feel the same way because Dane is the Kingpin of Beckton, which makes him very much off-limits. Oh, how wrong she was. After years of longing, tension, and wanting someone she could never have, Stephie finally gets the one thing she’s always dreamed of. But when morning comes, Dane claims he doesn’t remember what happened between them and thinks it was all a dream. Then, once they return home, he disappears for four long months. Meanwhile, Stephie discovers that their fateful night left her with more than just memories. However, when Dane finds out that Stephie is pregnant, he doesn’t hesitate. He immediately offers to take care of her and the baby, even though she refuses to tell him who the father is. But Dane doesn’t care. The baby is already his. Dane may be a ruthless mafia kingpin, but when it comes to Stephie, he is completely and utterly gone. The way he protects her, cares for her, and quietly makes space for her in every part of his life is just everything. I absolutely loved the scene where Dane takes her shopping for maternity wear and baby clothes, and then calls in the London Maths Club wives when Stephie became self-conscious about her changing body and what she should wear. It was wonderful seeing familiar faces and watching Stephie fit so effortlessly into the group. I loved the way Dane slowly let his walls down. He had convinced himself that loving Stephie meant keeping her away from him. He believed his dangerous life was no place for someone like Stephie and that the best thing he could do was protect her by keeping his distance. Which was a little funny considering he literally took her everywhere with him. But she was so young, so sweet and innocent…ach, there were so many moments when I just wanted to sit these two down and make them actually talk to each other. But at the same time, there’s something so incredibly satisfying about watching all those hidden feelings finally come to light. All the years of wanting, denying, sacrificing, and loving from a distance eventually lead to that beautiful moment when Dane discovers that the baby Stephie has been protecting is actually his. And this man is thrilled. He reacts like he’s just won the lottery, and honestly? He has. Because he gets Stephie. The woman he has loved for years. The woman he has tried so hard to stay away from. The woman he thought he could never have. And now he gets to have her and their baby. The family he never dared to dream he’d have. My heart was a puddle. If you’ve ever wanted to try a mafia romance but have been worried that the genre might be too dark, Evie Rose is a fantastic author to try. Her books give you all the deliciously protective, possessive, powerful heroes without making the violence overwhelming. Instead, you get the good stuff. The yearning. The devotion. The secret love. The fierce protectiveness. The humor. The spice. The found family. And a hero who might rule the criminal underworld but would probably fold instantly if the woman he loves looked at him a certain way. Dane and Stephie’s story is sweet, steamy, funny, and full of so many heartfelt moments. It’s a romance about finding love where you least expect it, discovering that the person you’ve been longing for has been longing for you too, and realizing that sometimes the life you never dared to dream of can become the greatest blessing of all.

Baby Bump for the Mafia Boss is a delightful mix of romance, humor, heart, and just the right touch of mafia intrigue. Packed with mutual pining, accidental pregnancy, forced proximity, and an irresistibly protective hero, this fast-paced novella is the kind of story that leaves you smiling long after you've turned the final page.

Stephie has quietly loved her boss for years, never expecting her feelings to be returned. She's intelligent, hardworking, and wonderfully kind, making it impossible not to cheer for her from the very beginning. Even when life throws her into an unimaginable situation, she faces it with courage and quiet determination, especially when it comes to protecting the future she's chosen for herself and her baby.

Dane Bridger is everything fans of possessive mafia romances hope for. Powerful, intimidating, and fiercely protective, he may not remember the night that changed both of their lives, but his instincts never hesitate when it comes to caring for Stephie. One of my favorite parts of the story is that his commitment isn't based solely on certainty—it's based on the kind of man he chooses to be. His unwavering devotion to both Stephie and the baby made him incredibly easy to fall in love with.

The chemistry between these two has been building long before the story begins, and their years of unspoken feelings make every shared glance, quiet conversation, and tender moment even more satisfying. The misunderstandings add just enough tension while allowing their relationship to grow through honesty, patience, and the realization that they've been in love with each other far longer than either one realized.

The balance of sweet moments and humor keeps the story wonderfully entertaining. Dane's unexpectedly adorable side, especially the scenes involving his hilarious version of "Old MacDonald" and the couple's special code phrase about "relaxing in front of the fire," brought plenty of smiles and gave the romance an extra layer of warmth. I also loved seeing familiar faces from previous books, whose friendship and playful banter added to the close-knit atmosphere.

If you enjoy mafia romances with protective heroes, accidental pregnancy, boss-and-assistant dynamics, mutual pining, forced proximity, and stories where love grows stronger through unwavering loyalty and devotion, Baby Bump for the Mafia Boss is an easy recommendation. Evie Rose delivers a romance that's sweet, steamy, funny, and filled with heartfelt moments, proving that sometimes life's biggest surprises become the greatest blessings of all.

I am new to Novellas , I usually read novels where the development and background story is drawn out and a slow burn so this was a surprisingly nice change! you get the gist of the story right off the bat in the first 5 minutes of the audiobook. Even though it was a quick "read" the book captures Dane and Steffie's chemistry. Steffie was frustrating at parts, hiding the pregnancy, THAN hiding who the father is and assuming he must know the truth and is turning his back on her....BUT WAIT HE DECLARES THE BABY AS HIS! even though he still thinks its not his biologically ! Guess what? she still doesn't tell him the truth. . . he finds out on his own, which I don't find believable at all. He gets a paternity test done , in his words , "to find out who the father is" but what DNA sample are you comparing it to? if he didn't think he actually slept with her than why would he give them his? so than what was this tech doing? hacking into a FBI data base of all DNAs in the system hoping to find a match? well it is the Mafia so I guess that possible, but your going to need to give a little more context than. As soon as he finds out we immediately get our HEA which is so comforting. There's no more deceit and we enjoy the HEA in peace.

The audiobook narrators, Rex Matteo and Lucy Rivers, did a great job. I found their voices sold the emotions of the scene. Lucy captured would I imagined Steffie's voice to be - light and cheery, while Rex played Dane's voice more deep and growly, which I would picture for a Mafia boss. Although oddly enough I didn't see too many scenes that really captured that BADASS dark mafia boss that you typically see. They spoke of him being this way - but we weren't sold on it first hand. Maybe thats because he was in love with the female lead immediately so the darker version of him was in the past.

*The Sum UP*
Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hero: 4/5
( when he calls her princess....ugh, my heart melts.)
Heroine: 3.8/5
( I would have given her a 5 if she didn't drive me crazy about not telling him about you know what!)

Level of Spice: 4/5
( I especially loved how he craved her and begged for her even though he claims he has never begged for anyone or anything )

📖 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿:
Readers who enjoy short, light accidental-pregnancy romances with a mafia backdrop and a quick, easy read.

I picked this up wanting something fast and steamy, and I’ll be honest, the first few chapters had me considering a DNF. But it was short, so I decided to stick with it, and I’m glad I did because I ended up enjoying the little story more than I expected.

There’s a genuinely fun concept hiding in here, and I could see the potential for a good story. The problem was mostly the delivery. So much of the plot seemed to rely on people simply not saying the things that would have solved everything, and there was a fair bit of stretching and connecting things to make the story work. Miscommunication as a plot device just doesn’t really work for me, and here it often made the story feel more complicated than it needed to be.

The characters were fine, but very flat, which I can understand to a degree with such a short novella. There simply isn’t much room to give them much depth while also fitting in everything else. The mafia side was also mostly there to set the mood for the whole baby mishap, with hints of danger, revenge and the fact that he is a very scary man, rather than something that really carried much weight through the story.

Still, I can’t say I didn’t have fun with it. It was easy to follow, the accidental pregnancy plot was entertaining, and underneath all the questionable storytelling choices, I could see a version of this that could have been genuinely great with a bit more reworking.

And then there was the lullaby at the very end. The old McDonald’s mafia edition had me. That was probably my favourite part.

✨ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱:
• The accidental pregnancy concept. It’s a fun setup.
• The story was short and easy to follow.
• That absolutely unexpected mafia lullaby at the end.

🌧️ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗳𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱:
• Too much miscommunication when simply being honest would have solved a lot.
• The plot sometimes felt stretched to make everything connect.
• The characters were very flat, although the short length didn’t leave much room for depth.

🎙️ 𝗡𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
Rex Matteo & Lucy Rivers: Great narration from both. Good delivery, voices that suited the characters, and they worked well together. No complaints from me.

One snowstorm changed everything. One secret changed even more.

Stephie has spent years loving the ruthless London mafia kingpin she works for. Dane is powerful, feared, and out of reach. When a rival attack sends their helicopter crashing into the mountains, they’re stranded with no one else to rely on.

Inside a remote cottage, years of hidden longing finally break through. One night changes everything, but by morning, confusion leaves Stephie carrying far more than heartbreak. Distance only makes their buried feelings harder to ignore.

Months later, Stephie is pregnant and still working for the man she can’t stop loving. Dane steps closer, determined to protect her and the child, but jealousy and old assumptions remain between them. The more time they spend together, the harder their connection becomes to deny.

As secrets unravel, they must confront truths they’ve avoided for years. Beneath Dane’s ruthless exterior is a devotion that won’t fade, while Stephie must decide whether the future she wants is finally within reach.

Stephie grows from carrying unspoken love into someone willing to trust herself and fight for happiness. Dane believes distance is protection until he learns honesty requires more courage than control. Together, they turn hidden longing into a protective partnership built on trust, passion, and commitment.

An ultra-steamy, accidental pregnancy, boss and assistant, grumpy sunshine mafia romance filled with mutual pining, forced proximity, possessive devotion, misunderstandings and fierce loyalty. It explores trust, vulnerability, family, protection, and control versus surrender. It’s about two people who believe their love is one-sided, a baby that forces buried truths into the open, and choosing each other despite fear and distance.

The Elevator Pitch: After a snowbound disaster leaves a powerful mafia kingpin stranded with the woman he's secretly wanted for years, one night changes both of their lives in ways neither of them fully understands. Months later, a growing baby, a dangerous misunderstanding, and years of hidden longing pull them into an impossible orbit around each other. As loyalty deepens into devotion, they must decide whether love is worth trusting with everything they have to lose.

Heat Level: 🔥🔥🔥 Ultra-Steamy / Erotic Romance

A Miscommunication Trope I Actually Didn’t Hate

Thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for providing an advance listening copy.

⭐️ Overall: 4/5
🌶️ Spice: 3/5
🎧 Audio: 5/5

I’ve read a few Evie Rose books now, and Baby Bump for the Mafia Boss may be my favorite so far.

This is a short, trope-packed novella—mafia boss, boss/assistant, mutual pining, accidental pregnancy, a night he can’t remember, and plenty of spice—but it never felt like the short runtime was being used as an excuse to skip the relationship development.

The structure was particularly effective. By moving between the present and the events leading up to it, and giving us both Stephie and Dane’s perspectives, the story established their history, attraction, work dynamic, and mutual pining without spending forever getting there. It was fast, but it didn’t feel hollow.

And somehow, this is a miscommunication trope I didn’t hate. 😂 The memory-loss setup also gets an explanation that made the situation considerably more coherent than I initially expected, so what could have become an irritating source of manufactured conflict actually worked for me.

The mafia element is fairly light and functions mostly as danger, atmosphere, and context for Dane rather than a complicated organized-crime plot. For a novella this length, I thought that was the right choice.

The audiobook was my favorite part. Rex Matteo and Lucy Rivers perform in DUET, and Rex in particular was an excellent fit for Dane. Lucy Rivers is slightly breathier than my personal preference, but it never became distracting enough to hurt the experience. Having both narrators consistently perform their own dialogue gave the chemistry an extra boost and made this incredibly easy to listen to.

The spice also delivered—as Evie Rose spice tends to do. 🌶️

This was short, fun, spicy, surprisingly efficient with its character development, and genuinely relistenable. Exactly what I want a romance novella to accomplish.

Who Should Listen?

Readers looking for a quick, spicy mafia romance with accidental pregnancy, boss/assistant dynamics, mutual pining, light mafia danger, a possessive/protective MMC, and a satisfying amount of relationship development packed into a short runtime. The DUET narration makes audio an especially strong choice.

Stephie Oliver is our beautiful, petite, bright blue eyes, with straight silky brown hair,MFC. Smart, intelligent, quick and studying for her Masters in Business Administration. And pathetically in love with her boss, Dane Bridger since she was hired.
Dane Bridger is our MMC with Pale grey eyes, dark lashes, and black hair. A dangerous Kingpin, leader of the mafia in Beckton, London. And unofficial emissary to other mafias around the world…powerful.
After a meeting between Dane and The Volk bratva, they somehow druged Dane, his Piet and his bodyguard. Leaving a clean Stephie. The drugged pilot couldn’t deter a helicopter crash. Leaving only Dane and Stephie alive. Taking shelter in a snowbound cabin called “Boulders Bothy” in Scotland. And the short stay brought unexpected consequences. Like, a baby bump. Now Dane claims he can’t remember their night together. Thinking he had a vivid intimate dream of Stephie the woman he has loved on first sight. But him being drugged it was hard to remember.
Dane talks Stephie into marrying him.
She gets to meet The wives of the “The London Maths Club”, their really Mafia men. With the wives who calls themselves “The London Smut Club”, consisting of the mafia wives Wyn, Jessa, Felicity, Callie and Ren.
I loved this book! Little things like
His rendition of “Old McDonald” that he sings to their baby and is hilarious!
Their secret Code word between them: “We should relax in front of the fire…”
It’s of a beautiful, Innocent heroine, “loves being his good girl”, older man /younger woman, surprise pregnancy, misunderstandings, confusion, and a happy life ever after.

If you love an age-gap romance packed with forbidden feelings, secret pining, and enough tension to make you want to scream, this one is for you!
This book delivers all the delicious drama: an off-limits boss/employee romance, years of mutual pining, obsessive devotion, possessive protection, and the chaotic antics of the London Math's Club crew that keep things entertaining from start to finish.
Dane is the feared Kingpin of Beckton, but beneath the ruthless exterior is a man who's been hopelessly in love with his PA for four years. He refuses to cross the line because Stephie is younger, innocent, and the one person his enemies could use against him. So he buries his feelings and loves her from a distance... even if it's slowly driving him crazy.
Stephie has been quietly in love with her devastatingly handsome, powerful boss for just as long. Fourteen years separate them, but that doesn't stop her heart from racing every time they're together. Between late nights, constant travel, and stolen moments, she's happy with whatever scraps of his attention she can get... or so she tells herself.
Then everything goes spectacularly off the rails. A drugging, a helicopter crash, one unforgettable night of passion, and a hero who wakes up convinced it was all a hallucination? The misunderstandings had me laughing, groaning, and begging these two to just communicate already! And when those two pink lines appear? Let the chaos truly begin.
This was a fun, addictive mafia romance filled with angst, swoony moments, protective alpha energy, and enough emotional tension to keep me turning the pages. If you're looking for secret obsession, forced proximity, pregnancy drama, and a couple you'll be rooting for from beginning to end, definitely add this one to your TBR!

I really loved Baby Bump for the Mafia Boss by Evie Rose! This was such a fun and entertaining mafia romance that kept me invested from beginning to end. I really enjoyed the combination of romance, drama, chemistry, and the baby-bump trope. The story had plenty to keep me turning the pages, and I found myself genuinely enjoying the characters and their journey.

One of my favorite things about this story was the romance. I enjoyed watching the relationship develop and seeing the characters navigate everything thrown their way. There was a great mix of emotional moments, tension, and romance, and I especially loved the protective mafia-boss aspect.

My biggest complaint is actually that I wish this story had been longer! I was enjoying it so much that I wasn’t ready for it to end. I would have loved more time with the characters and more development of their relationship and the world around them. I definitely would have happily read several more chapters.

I listened to the audiobook, and the narration was another highlight. Rex Matteo and Lucy Rivers did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life. Their voices worked really well for the story, and I enjoyed their performances throughout. They added to the overall experience and made this an especially enjoyable listen.

Overall, Baby Bump for the Mafia Boss was a quick, fun, and engaging mafia romance. Despite wishing it had been longer, I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the audiobook narration. Evie Rose delivered a romance that was entertaining, romantic, and easy to get caught up in.

4.5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️½

Set mostly in London, Stephie has been Dane's assistant for four years. When they are traveling back from Norway after negotiations with another Mafia boss, their helicopter crashes in the Scottish mountains. Stranded in a tiny cottage, they share a night of hot passion. However, Dane didn't realize how drugged he had been. Not sure if he hallucinated everything, he asks Stephie what happened the night before. Thinking he just wanted to forget about it, she tells him nothing happened. Fast forward four months later, Dane is finally back in the office after taking care of the other Mafia to find his assistant with a baby bump. The due date lines up with their night in the cottage, but she said nothing had happened. So what loser isn't stepping up to be the father of her baby? One thing is clear: Dane is going to marry Stephie and raise their child together, biological or not. Stephie's heart was broken when he said he couldn't remember their night together but knows she needs to tell him the truth. What will happen when the truth is revealed?

This is a short and spicy treat! The audio narrators did a great job with the duet narration. I really enjoyed this escapism read!

Baby Bump For the Mafia Boss by Evie Rose was a thoroughly entertaining read that had me both swooning and laughing. The author has once again successfully written a steamy short story that is a mix of witty banter, humour, heart, and to a certain extent, dark romance.
It is a spicy, age gap, forced proximity, grumpy/sunshine, accidental pregnancy, mutual pining, protective, jealous and possessive hero, mafia romance and I was hooked right from the beginning following Stephie the younger, innocent assistant to the London Mafia's Beckton kingpin, Dane Bridger.
The plot and storyline was well paced for the short length with plenty of drama, action, intrigue, misunderstandings and spice that easily kept me turning the pages. If you're familiar with the author's books you'll also spot some amusing supporting characters that make an appearance.
Dane has been in love with Stephie since she started working for him four years ago but he knows he can’t act on it. Besides the fact that he thinks she is too young, and innocent, he is adamant that she remains safe and protected because of his position, and the threat that if his enemies knew how he felt about her, she would be in danger.
A helicopter crash in a remote location, forced proximity in a cold cabin and the resulting accidental pregnancy prompts Dane to finally act and claim Stephie as his.
I really enjoyed this story and their well deserved and satisfying HEA, and look forward to reading other titles by Evie Rose in the future.

Another fabulous addition to Evie Rose's London Maths Club! 😍

Dane's had feelings for his secretary Stephie for a while now and one workplace accident brings it all crashing down on him. Drugged and dreaming, his having the time of his life! Then reality comes crashing in!

'For a glorious, wonderful, painful second, I thought she might be pregnant with my child. That the dream I had the night we spent in the cottage was real.
Annnnd then I came to my senses.'

Little does he know that his princess was waiting for him to come back to her, fighting her despair and hopelessness. After the accident that should have killed them, Dane worked his way through Volk, disassembling it, piece by piece, returning 4 months later to find his woman pregnant.

'I knew I loved Stephie, but I had no idea it went this deep. That I could love her and her child fathered by another man.
But I do. I love her baby as much as I love her. And if she needs a father for her child, I’m there. I’ll be that for her.'

Not knowing the truth, Dane steps up to the role his always wanted but was too scared to put into action. Claiming both her and her unborn child is the easiest decision his made and his right beside her for it. Surprise information shatters his illusions though!

'Stephie waited for me. She didn’t give up hope. She still loves me even though we had a misunderstanding of epic proportions.'

A fantastic story with wonderful characters and a HEA with extended epilogue.

This is my 4th installment in the London Mafia Boss series I've reviewed. When I see a new mafia novella drop from Evie Rose, I know I'm in for a good time! These books are quick, cute, and spicy! But this one had me rolling. I loved it!

Steffie may be infatuated with her employer - even though he's a mafia boss and way older than her. And she's a virgin. But on a snowy overnight trip to Scotland, they find their way into each other's arms. Unfortunately, the next morning, Dane realizes he'd been drugged and can't remember what happened. But when he comes back from a work trip four months later and finds his assistant pregnant with no man in the picture, he vows to destroy the man responsible.

The premise for this was so fun! What a tangled web of unfortunate fortunate events (haha). Steffie is a force in her own right, even if there's unnecessary miscommunication (but hey, I get it). I loved how Dane was trying hard to do the right thing by Steffie before he even knew what happened. And I always enjoy each new wifey getting introduced to the book club ladies!

The audio: Rex Matteo and Lucy Rivers do an amazing job of bringing Dane and Steffie to life. They portrayed each emotion and were easy to follow.

If you like short and spicy mafia romances with a few surprises, you'll love this one!

Rating: 1 / 5 stars

Spice: 3 / 5

This novella jumps straight into the drama, but unfortunately, it ended up feeling more cringe than captivating. With a 14-year age gap, a massive height difference, a virgin assistant, and a mafia boss who has been celibate and secretly pining for five years, it throws nearly every trope at the wall without giving the story or characters any real room to breathe.

The plot relies heavily on an exasperating miscommunication that dragged on far longer than it should have. Between an absurd drugging subplot where he conveniently forgets taking her virginity, and her refusing to just state the obvious about paternity, the central conflict felt completely forced. Even the forced proximity trope (complete with a helicopter crash where casualties are instantly glossed over so they can share body heat in a cabin) couldn't save the lack of genuine depth or banter. Even the spice felt fairly underwhelming.

The audiobook narration was decent. Rex Matteo delivered a swoony British performance that worked well for the possessive boss vibe, while Lucy Rivers was fine, though her cadence felt a bit grating at higher playback speeds.

If you are just looking for a fast, trope-heavy romance read and do not mind paper-thin plot or zero character development, this might work as a quick palate cleanser. Otherwise, it is a skip.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing an advanced audiobook copy in exchange for an honest review.

(I received an ARC for this book)

Trigger Warnings include:
helicopter crash, drugging, death

One of my favorite things to do is dive into a novella written by this author. This makes book 14 for me, and everyone has done the exact same thing: bring me joy! Dane is exactly what I love and expect from her MMCs. The possessive dangerous man who is utterly obsessed with his woman. And Stephie is a great match for him! She’s the assistant he’s attempted to stay away from. But everything changes when their lives are in danger. And they really change when that night changes their lives forever! My jaw spent a lot of time on the floor, for more than one reason. But almost always because of Dane.

My Favorite Quotes:
• “I remember not telling you the things I should. Like how I love you, and I always have.”
• “I can only be truly happy with you.”
• “I want you on any terms you’ll give. I have a hunger for you that’s infinite.”
• “I’ll make you tell the whole building how much you love me making you come with my mouth.”
• “Such a good girl for me. Please will you let me eat your p!ssy until you come on my face?”
• “Taking me like my good girl.”

7/10 Dirty Birdy
5/10 Forced Proximity
4/10 Mafia Romance
5/10 Second Chance
6/10 Workplace Romance

ALC from Netgalley!

A very quick and easy listen that combines the accidental pregnancy trope with a touch of mafia romance. The story is fast-paced and focuses heavily on the romance, mutual pining, and the growing relationship between the protagonists. As a novella, everything happens quite quickly, which made it an entertaining listen, but I would have liked a little more time spent developing the characters and their emotional connection.

🎧 Narration
The duet narration by Rex Matteo and Lucy Rivers was the highlight of the audiobook for me. Rex Matteo's voice suited the mafia boss perfectly, bringing the right amount of authority and intensity to the role. Lucy Rivers gave the protagonist a relatable and engaging voice, and together they did a good job bringing the chemistry between the protagonists to life. The duet format worked especially well for this story.

📚 Overall Thoughts
While the story was enjoyable, it felt a little too rushed at times and left me wanting more depth from both the characters and the romance. That said, it delivered exactly what I'd expect from a short, spicy mafia romance novella.
I'd recommend it to listeners looking for a quick romance they can finish in a single sitting.

I always love a secret mutual pining story. This was an enjoyable read about off limit age gap, employee/boss relationship with secret pining and obsession. The chaos caused by misunderstandings, possessive protective behaviors and and the characters from the London Math’s Club and you have a hit
Dane is the Kingpin of Beckton. He has been in love with his PA since she started working for him four years ago. He knows he can’t act on it. She is too young, and innocent . He needs to ensure she remains safe and protected. If his enemies find out his love for her, they will use her to hurt him.So he has loved her from afar.
Stephie is a PA for a powerful Mafia Kingpin. He is gorgeously handsome, rich, and fourteen years older than her. She spends a lot of time with him traveling and working late. She doesn’t mind as long as she gets to spend time around him she settles for that happiness.
All of it changes when Dane is drugged and their helicopter crashes. After a passionate night with Stephie, he can’t remember what happened and thinks he hallucinated everything. What happens when two pink lines appear.

Evie Rose is a skilled writer, so as usual, this was an easy read, with spicy love scenes, a hero who is head over for his lady, and a sweet heroine who is likable. The story starts with Stephie facing her mafia kingpin boss while she is four months pregnant with his child. But he hasn’t known about the pregnancy because he’s been away that entire time. She thinks he’s been regretting their one night together, when in actuality he didn’t remember due to the attempted murder they had just survived that day four months ago. Most of the story is based on this type of misunderstanding, and while that is not my favorite trope, and neither is a pregnancy trope, Evie Rose always crafts stories that are easy to gobble up. Dane has a sexy mouth on him and knows how to praise his girl when he gets his hands on her - yum. Both leads have mutually pined for one another for years, so it’s sweet.
