I listened to this while getting my nails done 💅🏾😂 I’m typically okay with insta love, and y’all already know I love all things mafia, but whew… the miscommunication trope is like nails on a chalkboard for me 😭

Unfortunately, that trope really took me out of this one. I just couldn’t get fully invested in their relationship because of it.

That said, I do enjoy this author’s novellas, so I’ll definitely keep picking them up as they come out! This one just wasn’t for me. 💅🏾📚🖤

(4.5 rounded up) This is the third Evie Rose book for me. Each one has been a delight. This book is short, but it’s sweet and spicy. It does have a mafia theme, but if mafia isn’t to
your liking this is mafia-lite.

It starts with a helicopter crash and ends up with them snowed in in a cabin where they have a spicy scene. He thinks it’s all a dream and develops amnesia after.

She gets pregnant from that encounter and refuses to tell him who the father is. He asks to be the baby’s adoptive father. He is very jealous of the baby’s father which ends up being funny because he’s jealous of himself!

The book is cute and steamy. It’s a fast read, but one I thoroughly enjoyed. The ending was heartwarming and made me wish there was even more to the story. Narration style is duet narration. I loved both narrators.

Such a fun, quick, steamy mafia boss romance! This was exactly the kind of audiobook you can knock out in an afternoon when you want something spicy, entertaining, and easy to get sucked into.

And the narration is 🔥. Rex Matteo and Lucy Rivers were SO good together. I knew Lucy Rivers sounded familiar, and yep, she’s one of the narrators from Butcher & Blackbird! The duet narration worked especially well for this story and added so much to the chemistry between these two.

I will say, though, the whole man-doesn't-communicate, misunderstanding happens, and now everyone unnecessarily suffers trope is starting to become slightly annoying for me. 😂 There were definitely moments when I wanted to shake them and say, "JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER!"

Thankfully, I was able to push through that pretty easily with this one. I think a huge reason was getting his POV at the same time. Being inside his head meant I understood what he was actually thinking and feeling even when she didn't, so instead of becoming completely frustrated with him, I could see where everything was coming from.

The accidental pregnancy, mutual pining, mafia danger, boss/assistant dynamic, and spice made this such an easy listen. It doesn't try to be some huge complicated mafia epic. It's a short, spicy romance novella that knows exactly what it is, and sometimes that's exactly what I want. 🖤

This was such a fun, fast paced listen! I loved the alphaness of this hero and the fact that we got an inside look into what he was thinking and feeling. And oooh, baby…this one sizzles right into an inferno. Evie Rose has done it with Baby Bump for the Mafia Boss. And as the title states, it starts just with that. The Mafia Boss Dane sees Steffie’s baby bump. I like the flow of the story, going from present to past to building back up to present. For readers who are familiar with the previous books, the Maths Club is mentioned—code for the London Mafia Syndicate. Dane is part of this, and I loved that when Steffie says she has no friends, he gets her some—the Maths Club wives. Yes, they’re back, fully embracing Steffie as part of their posse.

Steffie is a great fit for Dane. I like all the steamy scenes, and that it started spicy, too.

Rex Matteo and Lucy Rivers? They understood the assignment. This is a duet narration and its emotional, and just messy enough to make you feel like you’re listening in on two people who are absolutely in denial about how obsessed they are with each other.

💬 Review:
Okay, let’s be clear upfront: if you’re looking for deep revelations, philosophical monologues, or a life‑changing emotional excavation… baby, this is not that book. This is fun and fast, and Evie Rose knows exactly what lane she’s in and she drives it like she owns the road and I love it so bad 😂.

Evie is my go‑to when I need a full character arc, a solid plot, and some spicy chaos in under four hours. She never pretends her books are anything other than what they are: quick, satisfying, trope‑heavy palate cleansers that make you grin and give you exactly what you came for.

The setup is delightfully dramatic: plane crash, one unforgettable night, he doesn’t remember it because he was drugged (as one does in mafia romance), and now… surprise pregnancy. And the best part? He’s mad because he’s been secretly in love with her too and thinks he missed everything. I laughed. I kicked my feet. I absolutely ate this up.

Evie Rose remains undefeated for me in the “short book, full satisfaction” category. If she puts it out, I’m reading it. Every single time. This was so fun and I love a mafia boss who is soft for her. Like, he'll eliminate all of his enemies but he'll buy you a complete new wardrobe because you mentioned your shirt getting tight. Yes Zaddyyyyy!

Another 5 insta love novella stars for Evie Rose’s latest release.
This was one of the great ones for me, some of Evie’s Mafia novellas I enjoy as an easy listen palette cleanser, no complaints. This one ticked those boxes plus the whole possessive MMC vibes, perfect confession of love, all the filthy dirty talking with quotes we crave and nicknaming her Princess. This one definitely hit the sweet spot for me!
You won’t find me complaining if I crash land out of a helicopter and find myself in a snow surprised cabin with my Mafia boss! ;)

The narrations by Rex Matteo and Lucy Rivers were excellent done for Stephie and Dane. I was fully immersed!

HOLY MISCOMMUNICATION! or should I say, no communication?

Vanilla Mafia.

Possible spoilers ahead

FMC has worked for MMC for 4 years. He’s head of the mafia. They are both hawt for each other. Neither says a word. They both pine for each other like it’s their second job.

They’re traveling, and everybody has been poisoned except FMC. She didn’t eat the sandwiches. The helicopter goes down. Everybody is dead except the MCs.

They find a cabin and have a spicy night. MMC basically thinks he’s hallucinating the whole spicy scene.
FMC doesn’t realize he’s that bad off. 🥴 Ohhh, she’s a V. He also hasn’t been with anybody else since she came to work for him- so 4 years celibate.

They wake the next morning. MMC plays it off. He thought he dreamed it.
FMC plays it off. She thinks he's trying to pretend it didn’t happen.
They’re rescued.

FMC is dropped off, and MMC basically ghosted her for 4 months. He’s ashamed because he’s afraid he acted inappropriately that night. She thinks he’s lying and trying to pretend they didn’t hook up.

He returns and guess what? HE’S SHOCKED SHE’S PREGNANT. He’s so in love with this woman that he says he’ll be the baby’s daddy. He’s mad at the baby daddy for ditching her. 😂😂🙇‍♀️
She’s just….confused, and still thinks he’s lying.

I swear UGHHHHHH came out of my mouth.

Due to some DNA test, it finally comes out, and they actually talk.

We get some more spice with a HEA.

The spice was good. The miscommunication was annoying.
All I kept thinking was, I feel sorry for this baby.

It’s an okay book if you’re looking for something quick with no OP drama.

The London's Math Club has another romance to add with older Dane Bridger, Kingpin of Beckton, and his personal assistant Stephie Oliver. She's been wanting her boss for over four years. Never guessing that the feeling is mutual. Dane wants her too. Will he admit his feelings? Will she? There's a 14yr age gap. When the story begins, it's present, with the timeline being 4 months later where they both had survived a helicopter crash and then stayed in a cottage, during the winter, in Scotland. They shared an unexpected night together.🥵💋🥵 It left Stephie with a secret. One that Dane has trouble remembering. Was their night together real or fantasy? His memory is a bit scrambled since he had been drugged by one of his enemies. And Stephie doesn't help the situation by thinking the man is pretending he has a faulty memory. She thinks it's a rejection of her from him.🤦🏻‍♀️ So what do you think she does? The story does go back and explains what happened to lead up to the present situation. I didn't get lost with the storytelling.

Dane seemed distant, grumpy, and detached. At first. So to see this talllll man, 6'7", shady guy go from a cranky dude to saying please, yes, he said please to his princess, to being romantic and sweet is a big surprise.😲 Mob guy has a big heart. Stephie, on the other hand, she lives and breathes Dane. She's devoted. I get it, but her entire focus is solely on him. She has no friends, I guess no family, she even knows she lost any friends she had b/c she's working and only dwells on Dane. Stephie is... obsessed.😂 Girl, you need a hobby or something. Go have some fun. For you.

Dane is all jealous b/c he thinks another man used her and left. How dare some d-bag do that to his Stephie?🤣 He's going to find out who he is and unalive him.🤬 You foolish foolish man!!!🤭 He's going to be this child's father. He'll take care of them both. Do you think Stephie told this man anything at this point? Go ahead and guess. I'll wait.😏🕰️

I enjoyed seeing past characters, the wives of the London's Math Club, paying a visit. Hey ladies.🙋🏽‍♀️💁‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️💁🏻‍♀️

Expect some drama, misunderstandings, the truth but I'm not mad, Dane begging for Stephie ((ohhh, myyy😝)), some humor, all or nothing in sharing feelings, steamy spice, and a new rendition of Old MacDonald Had A Farm.🏡 🚜🎶🎶🎶🎶🔪 Everything happens in the blink of an eye with this story.😁 I enjoyed it. This is my fourth read in this London Mafia Bosses series and I always have so much fun with these reads.
Ok, so they're a little predictable, but isn't that just half the fun!

In this story we see Dane and his PA sabotaged and caught in a helicopter crash and whilst under the influence, they're trapped in a remote cabin where things get a little spicy.
In the morning, things go a little awry and Stephi denies that anything happened - except a few weeks later the consequence shows it's little pink line.

I normally don't love the miscommunication trope, but these books are so short and fast-paced that I actually don't mind so much as things get ironed out pretty swiftly as the story progresses.

I really warmed to both Dane and Stephi who were clearly on the same page and it was so lovely to see Dane realise what had happened and take control, looking after Stephi and the baby.

It was nice to see the link to some of the other characters that we've seen along the way, although we don't get a full update, it's nice to see faces or hear names that we recognise - and to see them helping out and bringing Stephi into their fold.

These are such quick and easy reads - perfect palate cleansers in-between more meaty novels and I just devour them in one sitting and have a constant smile on my face.
I'm looking forward to adding more to my tbr soon.

Four months ago, Steffie’s boss stopped showing up to the office, preferring to work remotely all over the world, and asked her to stay behind. When he finally comes back, she knows she needs to tell him something important, but before she can work up the nerve, he notices her slightly visible baby bump.

Dane has wanted his assistant for over 4 years, but always told himself he needed to stay away for her own protection, but 4 months ago they were trapped in a remote cabin after a helicopter crash, and under the influence of drugs, he hallucinated being with her, only to wake up with no recollection of their night together, only her assurances that nothing had happened.

Now, still convinced he never crossed that line, he finds out the father of her baby isn’t in the picture, and offers to take his place, all while planning to finally claim her for himself.

I received a copy of this audiobook from @netgalley and really enjoyed it. It’s a fast paced story with some seriously spicy flashbacks. I loved that the author started in the present, brought us back to THE MOMENT in the past, and then back to the present to deal with the repercussions. It’s sweet how much Dane has always wanted Steffie, and although I basically want to shake him for how things played out in the cabin, watching him step up now was worth the angst.

Ahhh, Evie Rose books are always such a fun time 🖤

Sometimes you just want a book that’s easy to read, doesn’t require too much emotional investment, and gives you exactly what you came for: mafia, an obsessed MMC, spice, a little chaos, and lots of fun.

This was exactly that for me.

The story is simple, fast-paced, and had me smiling more than once. The miscommunication between Dane and Stephie was honestly ridiculous at times 😂 but somehow that just made it even more entertaining. Dane is completely gone for her, and watching him slowly become the most obsessed, protective, soft mafia daddy was honestly adorable.

I also loved the family vibes towards the end. The epilogue especially was SO CUTE. 🥹 And yes, I will never get over “Old MacDonald Had a Mafia.” 😂

This is definitely one of those books I’d pick up when I want something fun, spicy, low on unnecessary drama, and easy to fly through.

Basically… a perfect little palate cleanser between heavier reads.

If you’re looking for a simple mafia romance with an obsessed MMC, pregnancy, spice, some hilarious miscommunication, and a sweet HEA, this one is worth picking up. 🖤

Thank you to Victory Editing & NetGalley for the ALC. The minute I see these pop up, I automatically request them because they’re just so short, light hearted and immensely ridiculous (in a good way).

The layout of this book was a little different to the others because the mafia conflict aspect had already happened prior to the start. It’ll probably frustrate some people that there’s miscommunication, but as an avid hater of it usually, it actually didn’t bother me in this book. It wasn’t completely unreasonable why it even happened in the first place and we got our resolution in typical OTT morally grey mafia man proceedings. Rex Matteo & Lucy Rivers did a wonderful job of bringing these 2 to life and I am forever grateful that these audiobooks are narrated duet style.

If you’re a fan of accidental pregnancies, love short and sweet novellas with an extremely lighthearted mafia plot line, these books will be for you.

This is a cute, quick to read/listen to story, though as it is a novella, it’s very short and very surface level.
You don’t have the opportunity to dive deep into the characters, the plot or anything really to be honest. The insta love and complete lack of communication in the 3 hours it took to listen to this was quite hard to take serious/ really care about.

It was a great premise and if I’m honest I think I would have enjoyed it more as a full novel, with more depth to it.

The narrators on this audio were amazing and I will be looking out for more of their work.

This was a quick little workplace romance between a mafia boss and his assistant. I was entertained and it was an easy listen, but I wasn’t completely blown away.

The miscommunication was a bit much for me, and even though this is a shorter book, I still think we could have gotten a little more depth from the characters and their relationship.

Overall, it was quick, spicy, and entertaining. Definitely an easy one to throw into your TBR if you’re in a reading slump and want something you can get through pretty quickly!

Evie Rose writes the most addictive mafia smut ever. It’s cute, spicy, and the audiobooks are always fantastic. In this one, she is on a trip with her mafia boss, and the helicopter crashes. They spend a warm night by the fire and he doesn’t remember, so when she ends up pregnant, she’s in a pickle. The trademark book club, shopping spree, and obsession return, and I would t expect any less of an Evie Rose novella.

I love these Evie Rose novellas on audio! This is a short and sweet audio novella that’s campy, over the top, fast paced, and with just the right amount of humor and heat to round it all out. I’ll be so bold to say that I find them to be a toned down and more interesting mafia version of Jessa Kane’s writing. You know what you’re in for with these books! And it’s delightful. The story is wonderfully enhanced by the narration.
