List Of Consonants

Rate this book
List of Consonants is a list of consonants with intervening vowels. The book is an ambient novella that explores what Wilson Harris calls "community-in-creator" by merging from-scratch text with found text and asking "what exactly is the difference?" By treating their own from-scratch text as though a stranger had written it, abreu shows how little we know ourselves, and performs an authorial petite mort in honor of their friend, who died by suicide in 2013.

These are some of the most honest and engaging poems I've read in a very long time. Abreu writes about the small stuff-- the mundane memories and the quiet moments --but he makes them all feel paramount. I was actually upset when I reached the last page because I didn't want it to end. That almost never happens to me. If you're the type of person the likes cool things (particularly when it comes to books), you'll go find/purchase/steal a copy of this book and devour it in one sitting like I just did. It's pretty incredible.

very important poetry. political but not abrasive. compassionate. dizzying. like an expertly curated meal for the brain. infinite replay value. wish i understood just how monumental it is... but i can tell it's substantial. read this as soon as possible. it will propel you into the future.
