With the help of his supporter, Lilliluka, and with his keen desire to become stronger burning within him, Bell Cranell reaches Level Ten of the Dungeon. The monsters they discover in that foggy place are terrible hulking brutes--orcs! Bell plunges into battle when something different attacks him from behind-but what? Magic, betrayal, and the forging of new bonds, all in the fourth volume of this familia myth--lived by the boy and chronicled by the goddess!
I think I'm a little bothered by the main character's obsession, but it's beginning to make more sense. He truly is an obsessive personality, and has latched onto a goal with overwhelming tenacity. He's also beginning to realize that maybe brute force and ignorance are not going to help him reach his goals, and figuring out what he's doing might be a good idea.
This was a pretty good volume I enjoyed it very much. Bell has magic and he still has know-idea why Lilly is being all weird. This volume is packed full of info and cool scenes as well. I love the art and I'm starting to love this manga more and more.
Love, honor, betrayal, conspiring, hatred, derision, fear, doubt, and more in this volume. So is the helper going to be redeemed? I think trusting her is a bad idea... ah well, maybe it'll all turn out ok in the end. Bell has incredibly good luck, after all, as well as a bevy of gorgeous (and some powerful) women looking out for him! Art, very good. Really well done. Dialogue, pretty good. Certainly not Shakespeare, but not Sesame Street, either. Characters, likeable, interesting, endearing, entertaining.
I was right! There was something up with Lily! But before I get started on that, this volume definitely has more development on Bell's character and a little bit about his back story. We also get to learn about Lily and her trouble with her Soma familia. Part of me feels sorry for her, but at the same time I can't especially after what she did to Bell. But that all gets resolved at the end. Which could be good or bad. But now I am hoping that Lily ends up as part of Hestia's familia.
I still think the book is geared towards males, because we also find out that Aiz Wolfstein might have a thing for Bell too? That's mainly why I think this is geared towards men, like what are the odds of these insanely attractive women and Goddess finding the main character THAT attractive. Just saying... Because in this world it's not like he's a big adventurer yet. Just a beginner, obviously some of them know how powerful he is too. Which I could see would be an attractive quality, I guess he is also kind of heart as well.
