Promises Kept - Delivered More Than Expected!
Honestly speaking, I was somehow prepared to get less, just because it is number 2 in the series. Well, here is the good thing. This part could be well read as a standalone one. It does not actually assume any prior knowledge of the characters involved.
Personally, I was slightly more comfortable reading this part, as it started off as a normal life case, relatable to most people. No troubles involved in the beginning.
However, the story quickly evolves this time, including some action and suspense, even detective work and undercover operatives.
Nevertheless, the narrative is still deeply psychological, relishing all good things in life amidst dramatic events and consequences related to past mistakes or rather oversights.
In a way, Katherine discovers her new family and even her stepdaughter. Her family now seems complete, but, she needs to overcome so many complications together with her beloved Philippe. Most of all, to beat fears and shadows of their past in order to become braver, stronger and prove their good nature. Mind you, the personality of the prtotagonist at this stage looks more likeable, agreeable, resolute, responsive and considerate.
Life has its twists and turns of course, as they put it - c'est la vie!
The plot is sufficiently developed and intriguing in itself. I could even see the development of the author by simply not sensing her presence so much - the characters have a life of their own indeed. In a way, Patricia Sands has achieved her writing potential here, apart from her distinctive style and evident hard work.
Finally, the cliffhanger moment at this time is perhaps Molly's destiny, Katherine's best friend and a real soulmate, being almost like her own unborn sister.
In conclusion, this sequel really builds nicely upon the first part, whereas it is quite different from the latter.

Promises to Keep is the second book in a series, I reviewed the first book earlier this month, The Promise of Provence and adored it! Book two was just as delightful (giveaway on my blog now)
This begins right where things left off in the first book, Kat is still in France and trying to settle into her new life with Philippe. She is so changed from the woman she was in the first book, she’s much more calm, centered and sure of herself and I really enjoyed seeing her in her happy place. Andrea and Molly are back as well, albeit briefly mostly through phone calls with Kat, but it was still nice to get a peek at what they were up too.
One of my favorite things about the first book was the combination of the gorgeous setting and the mouthwatering descriptions of the food and Sands still captured both in book two. It was also nice to see how things were progressing for Kat and Philippe after their fairytale beginning when real life sets in. They’re very much in love and both of them desperately want to make things work, but they face some obstacles along the way.
This book was much more mysterious than the first, there were secrets and some family history and drama that I really appreciated and I loved learning more about Philippe’s history and the culture of such a fascinating place. It ended on a HUGE cliffhanger and I’m so happy that I’m starting the third book soon, I’m dying to know what happens next! Again, this is a perfect summer read and one that I devoured.

“It’s a big universe. Everything happens Somewhere,” says Doctor Who (“The Doctor, The Widow & The Wardrobe”). But I would answer that just as in this episode, and in the Narnia stories it’s based on, sometimes it’s the Somewhere that makes everything happen. To an extent, that’s what occurs in both The Promise of Provence and Promises to Keep, the first two volumes of Patricia Sands’ Love in Provence series.
The story begins on Katherine Price’s wedding anniversary, as she heads to her job in Toronto. Looking forward to celebrating with her husband, she returns home earlier than usual. There she finds his traditional gift, a bouquet of roses, one for each of the twenty-two years they’ve been married. Not so traditional is the letter that accompanies the roses, telling Katherine that he is leaving her for a younger woman, and that they are expecting a child. As her carefully built world collapses, Kat is devastated. In her mid-fifties, she wonders if her entire life has been a sham, and if she has anything left to believe in or trust. I find it entertaining that Katherine’s married name is Price, as she slowly begins to realize that the “stress-free and structured” life she thought she was leading was actually one where the price—giving up her own dreams and even identity—was just too high.
Infidelity, a betrayal of trust, an end to a relationship—these aren’t new storylines. But this isn’t a romance where the new hero swoops in to rescue her. It isn’t even the trope where the philandering spouse comes to realize what he’s lost and seeks forgiveness. Instead it’s the story of how Katherine slowly starts to get to know a woman who’s been invisible for twenty-two years: herself. Her first act is the wonderful destruction of her husband’s beloved Venge bicycle. (She piles the pieces outside for him to collect, after inking RE before the Venge logo on the frame.) Tentatively, Katherine lets herself lean on and accept help from the other women in her life, her ailing mother, and her two best friends. As she gets to know this stranger in her own skin, Kat remembers a promise a younger Katherine made to herself, that she would return to France, the country she’d fallen in love with as a girl. After a few trial runs, she embarks on a home exchange trip to France.
And that’s where the setting comes into its own. Although still nervous about handling everything by herself, Katherine makes it to Provence, and even manages the rental car. Then it happens:
Provence, the place and the people, slowly seduces Katherine. As she opens to accept the gifts it offers, she finds herself both healing and becoming the person she lost during her marriage. She still doesn’t know if she could ever trust in a relationship, but as she meets the wealthy Australian Nick and the enigmatic local Philippe, she begins to wonder if that could be possible. In the second book of the series, Promises to Keep, Katherine continues to grow, to take new chances on promises, even if it means facing the possibility of loss.
Katherine’s healing and growth is a slow and cautious process, and at every step the people and places of Provence are a beautifully described and real force, supporting and celebrating her change. But it’s a slow, almost incremental process, one in which the tiny pieces of everyday life and friendship and love are rediscovered and celebrated. If you are looking for a fast-moving story with lots of action scenes, steamy sex, and dramatic events, these aren’t the books for you. But if you’re interested in a careful exploration of a mature woman discovering just who she is, and whether that’s even a person she likes, then I recommend this series. I would give five out of five stars for the beautiful writing, compelling description of an all-too-common betrayal, and most of all for Katherine’s change and growth. My only disappointment is that I’ll have to wait a few months for the next book. In the meanwhile, I’m going to miss my good bookfriends, Katherine and Provence.

In front of her was a postcard scene from Provence in June. An enormous field of golden sunflowers glistened with an intensity that was hard to believe, as if someone had plastered a Visit Provence poster smack in her face. To one side was the classic mas, with its outbuildings, the shades of the yellow-gray limestone farm structures softened by the mid-afternoon sun. Traditional weathered blue shutters on the south facing windows and doors were flung open in this fine day. […]
She stepped out of the car and hollered at the top of her lungs, “I’m here. I’ve done it! Je suis arrivée!”

Following up on the decadent love affair with France for middle-aged Katherine Price and her own newly found chance at loves comes Promises to Keep telling the what comes after the Happily Ever After.
Promises to Keep is the second book in the Love in Provence series and continues the story begun in book one, The Promise of Provence. It also continues my deepening love for this story and the narrator. I found the first book thoughtful, engaging, and a decadence for the senses, but this book solidified all I enjoyed and added just that extra bit of sparkle that I can't even explain.
There is a suspense element, but this is not a suspenseful story. No, it is the ongoing gentle love affair Katherine feels for Phillipe and for this corner of France. I enjoyed getting more of Phillipe's past and his present as well as his stronger presence in the story scenes. Katherine is still the main narrator, but Phillipe's occasional thoughts are there.
There were new friends to meet and deepen friendship from a lady artist living high in a medieval mountain town, to family in Lyon, and another older and mysterious lady artist living in seclusion near the village. Trips to Marseilles, truffle hunting in the season, back to Provence farm country for visits to old friends, and other interesting places encourage Kat to follow her passion for photography and join Phillipe in his for cheese.
What remained the same was the joy of exploring places, people, art, music, and yes... the cuisine of the region. As this book's events were largely over the holiday season there are beautiful home for the holidays, village preparation and celebration, and personal holiday scenes that were heartwarming and beautiful. Have I mentioned just how lush and colorful this author's writing is?
I think the suspense element tightened up the story for me, but also the fact that introductions are over as well as some of the earlier, painful growth moments for Kat after her husband left her. She's more than reconciled to her new life with just a few hesitations and she is ready to embrace new adventures. The tone of the book is overall joie de vivre.
Janet Metzger continues to wrap her gentle yet husky voice around the story with a lovely command of accents, emotions, pace, and description. She is such a fantastic match for this story and a very talented narrator.
All in all, this series just keeps getting better and I look forward to the final leg of the trilogy after a startling situation arises at the end of this book. Those who enjoy women's fiction, travel fiction, mild contemporary romance, foodie stories, friendship stories, or any and all the above are definitely the target group for my recommendation.

I'm reeling from the way this book has ended, to the extent that I know I need to read the last book in this trilogy sooner rather than later, as I need to know how the story continues...yes the book has arguably ended on a big cliffhanger, which is not my preferred ending, but in this instance instead of completely annoying me as it should do, my only thought is wow, didn't see that coming and I need to find time to read I Promise You This!
Well before you actually get to the ending there is of course a whole story to be told, which I thoroughly enjoyed. It builds on the characters you have come to know from The Promise of Provence, and develops them further. As a result I found this to be quite an easy read in those regards, as I was familiar with the setting and characters as it began. I am so hooked on the series, I can't really take the step back and comment on whether it works as a standalone.
We learn a lot more about Philippe in this book, as we discover just what it is he is hiding from Katherine. The book focuses on that plot for the majority of the book, and I still have some questions that could be answered, but on the whole it was a surprising turn of events, and had me on the edge of my seat at times.
Katherine and Philippe, explore some more of the surrounding area in Provence, and yet again the descriptions of the local villages, the history of the places comes alive, and I can see everything very well in my minds eye, just from the writing I feel as though I was transported to Provence, and was in the pages of the book, experiencing everything for myself.
There were descriptions, for example of Olives, the various types and just what a tapenade is, and I was surprised to find my mouther watering, and the thought that I may want to try an olive, despite being a notoriously fussy eater with no real desire to eat olives!
As a fan of the series, I found this was a joy of a book to read, I was thoroughly entertained throughout and would love to hope on a plane to Provence this second, to experience everything that Katherine has for myself. I think that anyone with an interest in the South of France, France, romance, books set abroad or generally appreciates vivid descriptions would enjoy this book.

Patricia Sands does it again! I was privileged to receive an early copy of Promises to Keep and with a story this wonderful, you want to share it.
When we left Katherine, she had been swept away by the south of France, Philippe and the possibilities of starting over. Katherine found happiness in Provence, where she spent time on home exchange holidays following the break up of her marriage and the death of her mother. In book one we left Katherine at a critical life-changing moment and this book follows the first few months of her new life in the south of France. There are delicious descriptions of market produce and no shortage of stunning scenery brought to life; from days out in the hilltop towns and cycle rides along the coast with the new man in her life. I really felt that I was there along side her as she became a part of the local community. There are loved up picnics, lie-ins and preparations for her first traditional French Christmas, shared with a special person in her life once more; real romance that warmed my heart. I especially enjoyed their weekend sightseeing in Lyon. It is somewhere I’ve always wanted to visit and more so now thanks to Patricia’s cleverly written chapter. She left me feeling more knowledgeable in what I want to see when I get there.
However, life (even with love in Provence) is not all rose tinted. There are dark secrets from a past forgotten that come back to haunt them, just when they are getting their lives back on track. Things happen to scare them and fear taints their happiness. The cleverly written suspense about what was happening really drew me in and there were times when my imagination was running way ahead of what I was reading and I was expecting all sorts to happen just over the page. Everyone was a suspect in my eyes, so much so I was left feeling a little under whelmed when things did come to a head. It does seem though, that their life is likely to be full of drama for a little while longer. I’m sure there is more to tell and I am looking forward to the next book where I hope Katherine will learn more about her friend Simone, a new character that Patricia has dangled temptingly in front of us.

This is the second book in the “Love in Provence” Trilogy by Patricia Sands and it can easily be read a stand alone. No. 3 I Promise you This is out on 17th May 2016.
Katherine is now with Philippe, who sells wonderful cheeses at the market with his partner Gilles. Almost at the point of returning to her home city of Toronto, Katherine is seduced not only by the wonderful man whom she has come to know an love, but by the enchanting medieval town that is Antibes. How different her life here is compared to Canada, the frantic start of the working day compared with the relaxed ambience of a city waking up in France. She decides not leave on her plane back to Canada and decides to stay and forge a life with Philippe..
From the Luberon in book no. 1, Kat settles into life in Antibes, a relatively small place. The small town is agog with this new romantic development and she is acutely aware of the little drama she has caused, as she sips her the au citron in her local café Le Vieil Antibes, and as she peruses Nice-Matin for her daily dose of French. As Philipe says: You know how the town loves to gossip. Indeed it does.
But one day as she accompanies Philippe to a small village, Entrevaux, they are suddenly chased by another car, a scary hairpin ascent does nothing to calm Kat. There are secrets in Philippe’s past that have not been shared, and they come back to haunt him and cast a shadow over their plans to renovate Philipe’s old and decrepit family house situated on the Cap d’Antibes, the peninsula between Baie des Anges and Baie de Cannes. It seems there is illicit activity going on down in the cove below. Can she trust Philippe and how will things pan out?
Kat spends many hours with her camera, perhaps on the Chemin de Calvaire and up to the lighthouse – the author conjures up the most lovely imagery to capture this beautiful part of the world. And then there are beautiful descriptions of the build up to Christmas – and of course the detail of the cheeses on Philipe’s stall, from the Vacherin to the Morbier and Roqueforts, a delicious round-up of foodie heaven set against the smells and sounds of Yuletide.

This story begins with Kat entering the security area at the international airport, on her way back to Toronto to apply for her extended Visa to stay in France. But then her love, Philippe, calls out to her, and she changes her mind. She simply cannot leave France, while the man she loves is left behind. This is a love Kat never envisioned herself having again. It's a love she swore she'd never get caught up in again, when her husband of 22 years leaves her on the eve of their anniversary, for a life with his mistress, and the child they were expecting.
Life is good for Kat, finally. She has a new love, Philippe, and a love for France that has deepened more than she expected. As she settles into her relationship with Philippe, and the country she has chosen to begin her new life in, she once again takes up activities that had, at one time, been vital to her soul. Oh, she experiences moments of sadness, where she remembers her past life, of the friends she misses and just the land itself where she once lived. But Kat realizes those sad memories have been replaced by new happier memories. She's reminded she's chosen a new life elsewhere to achieve a newer happier fuller being. And, as for Philippe, she experiences a schoolgirl moment, at the very thought of him. Oh, to have such a love in your life!

Just as I loved the first one in this series, I also loved the second and am looking forward to the third. I love books set in France, that describe the places, the light, the food, the people. This does all of that. You can tell that the author has a love affair with France. The main character is a 50-something women who goes through much turmoil in the first book, her husband walks out, her mom dies unexpectedly. She has always wanted to travel and does a couple of house exchanges in France. She falls in love with the country and a man. The story is very much about her growth as a person and her realization that her husband was at best domineering and their marriage was really not much of one. This second book is more about Kat and Phillipe's love affair. I was thoroughly engrossed in their story and am looking forward to the third book in this series.

Book 2 in the series is a lovely continuation of the love affair between Katherine and Provence and the areas around there. This book introduces more characters and particularly, becomes a love story between Katherine and Philippe, learning to blend cultures and languages. Also introduced is a mystery of sorts, which I really enjoyed.
This is a book which will leave you ready to pack your bags and move to the South of France. I certainly would!

I loved the first book in the series so I rushed to buy the second and third books. I really enjoyed delving into the lives of Kat and Phillipe as well as being introduced to new characters. This book begins exactly where the first one left off and doesn't miss a beat. True to the area of Provence, the author beautifully describes the surrounding villages and we even get to discover new villages :)
I found myself really rooting for the relationship of the two main characters. In this installment, there is a bit of a rocky road they must overcome and I kept telling Kat (yes I do talk to the characters in books sometimes) to just stick it out because Phillipe is a guy that any lady would love to have. In the first book, it was Kat's past and family that we learned about, in this book, we get to learn more about Phillipe's past and his family. We get to spend Christmas with the whole gang from the first book and read about the lovely Provencal traditions during that season.
If I didn't already live in Provence, these books would make me want to move there! I love being able to relive my travel experiences through the eyes of Kat. There are even some places I've never been that I've put down on my list thanks to this book! A definite must read if you are a romantic and love Provence!

I continued to enjoy this Love in Provence series book #2. Love between two people continues to develop along with a discovery of a secret which does get revealed. Adventure and love abounds in the South of France.

I have just finished "Promises to Keep" the second Patricia Sands book in the Love in Provence Series. It was fun to catch up on the main characters again and see what had been happening in their lives. I did not enjoy it as much as the first book however, perhaps because I had not been to the Provence villages in this book, the way I had in the first book, so it did not stir memories for me of our visit to France. But I was very happy to be reunited with the same characters, and I look forward to reading the next book to find out more. Although I won the book, I would have bought my own copy in order to follow this series.

I just finished reading the entire trilogy. This is an inspiring romance as well as a travelogue that makes me want to immediately head to the South of France. Along the way. there were so many wonderful culinary experiences that have caused a weight gain just from reading about them.
Katherine lives in Toronto and is cruelly dumped on her 22nd wedding anniversary. She really struggled to move on her life. We get to enjoy the wisdom of Kat's wonderful mother who was a survivor of Nazi terror in WWII. The abiding theme throughout was "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger." When she is convinced to take a two week vacation by exchanging homes with a family in Provence, her life changes. In the three books, we see a total transformation for Kat from a controlled, narrow-outlook person to a completely transformed individual.

Patricia Sands brings Katherine Price back to us in book 2 in her “Love in Provence” Series. I put this book down, seriously awaiting book 3! Patricia Sands really knows how to make you want more….Like a serious cliff hanger in a movie or television show, remember, “Who shot JR?”...yes, that kind of suspense.
Kat is staying in France with her new love, Philippe and their love is both strong and beautiful. Their loyalty will be tested when they take a road trip to Entrevaux, and Kat discovers that Philippe has a secret that he is not quite ready to share. Sensing the danger, Kat is very concerned and anxious about what it is he is not sharing with her. Can she trust him? How long can she go without knowing what is going on?
Patricia Sands has a gift for filling all of your senses with the wonderment of the South of France. I was often spellbound by the beauty; with the foods, traditions and scenery. I long to go to a Market there! I wish I could see some of the pictures that Kat took. My head is flooded with beautiful things right now…this story is simply beautiful. A stunning backdrop always makes for a great story, and Patricia Sands certainly delivers.
I love Kat! All of her adventures are fun and interesting. She is a character that has a huge zest for life, and it is very exciting to travel alongside her. These stories are like a mini-vacation. I am seriously considering revisiting my French language classes.
I am happy to report that the full cast of characters from “The Promise of Provence” are back!! Even Andrea and Molly back home in Toronto are a large part of this story. You will meet new people, but revisit everyone else.
Above all, this is a story of love. Love for each other, and Love for Life!

This is a continuation of my review of Book 1. First of all Read book 1. You will better enjoy the second book if you read the first one. Since Book 2 continues the story I posted the same review with a little more. I enjoyed the writing style of the author, the colorful descriptions of the south of France and the main story. The central character, Katherine must reimagine her life after her husband of more than two decades leaves her for a younger woman on their anniversary. She takes a bold step and joins a home exchange program that allow her to fulfill a dream to travel to France. She falls in love with the country its people and the culture. After her first trip she decides to return for an extended period of time when the program she works for in the states ends. If you have ever visited or desired to visit the coastal villages of southern France this book will make you want to pack. Its definitely a love story on several levels. Katherine ultimately learns to love again and begins a relationship with a mysterious but loving man. My dilemma in the review is that there are three stories in this book. In my humble opinion the stories are not as well integrated as they could be. Each is interesting but considered together they make the book a little disjointed. I read Book 2 to learn more about the characters introduced in book 1. The love story unfolds in the second book and you learn more about the drama behind Katherine's love interest. I enjoyed learning more about the customs in France in this offering and I brushed up on my French. Book 2 ends with a cliffhanger, a tactic that so annoys me but I will read the next book.

Completely starting your life over is never easy at any age. Yet, Katherine has made the decision to move to France permanently. This means a new home, a new career, new friends and particularly a very special man to share her life with.
Philippe has brought Katherine back to life again. His love became her rock. While they renovated, and explored and simply loved life – there was danger lurking.
Promises To Keep is such a stunningly visual novel. Through Ms Sands’ words we are given such a landscape that comes to life off of the pages of this novel. Emotions as well make this novel well worth anyone’s time to experience this beautiful world. When Philippe’s past comes crashing into his and Kat’s present and future everything that Kat had trusted in and gambled her second chance on came into question. The suspense will follow them through this story and I’d imagine you’ll have plenty of guesses before the reveal. I don’t feel I can give too much away without spoiling the suspense.
Never give up hope and hold on to love no matter what – these are lessons that Kat will cling to. Will they be enough? You’ll have to read Promises To Keep to find out that answer. And the time spent in the south of France will be well worth the suspense.
I would highly recommend Promises To Keep and I look forward to returning for the next novel.

Katherine leaves the painful memories of her debilitating marriage back in Toronto, and embarks on a whirlwind adventure of love with Philippe. Together they enjoy fine French food, wine and the easy lifestyle, their future promising happiness and hope, far from the pain they both well know.

I read this book immediately after reading The Promise of Provence, the first in a new series by Patricia Sands. This second book continues the story about Katherine and Phillipe after she decides her love for him (and Provence) is more important than returning to her home in Toronto. I loved the first book and equally loved this one. Having spent time in France and visiting many of the sites (and eating many of the dishes) mentioned in both books it was a joy to both learn more about them as well be introduced to others. But the center of the story is how the love between Kat and Phillipe carry them through the difficulties inherent in the culture and language differences and old problems from Phillipe's prior marriage resurfacing in the present. I especially enjoyed all the new characters introduced in this book. Though Kat's family and friends in Canada are still very much involved, Kat has met new people in France and developed relationships with many of them both as an independent woman and as part of a couple. I pre-ordered the third book in the series to be published May 18th. The second book ended on somewhat of a cliffhanger so I look forward to learning what comes next!

This was a great continuation of Kat’s Journey. I Loved all the new Characters that entered into her life along with the people we met in The Promise of Provence. After finishing i feel that i was in france with Kat and Philippe and experienced their Joys and sorrows. This a beautifully written story and it’s a journey everyone should take. This story has confirmed what I already knew that life can change so quickly and we must change our course in life. I had some sorrows that happened in the end of 2014 that effected my whole family and then I personally had an accident, that has changed me and i need to find a new path. The positives from these sorrows did come much joy, I’ve been reading and have met some wonderful people along the way and I cherish all of you and if you read this review I hope you know who are….some are avid readers and some are wonder and talented authors. The other joy is how my siblings, nieces and nephews and friends we have come together and our love and bond for each other is stronger. Getting back to Promises to keep, I was sad when the story end so quickly and then I realized that there will be more to the story and I am very happy!!!

This is the second in Sands' series of romantic adventures starring Kat and Phillipe. I was head over heels about the first one. However, an attempt at adding intrigue to this one fell flat, not so much for the storyline, but for the attempt at weaving it into the death of Phillipe's wife. It may have roots in truth but I still don't think it should have steered the story as it did, as unsettling as it was. I almost gave up on the book, but chose to finish it.
Sands is a gifted writer, and I truely love her style. However, international storylines rooted in today's fast paced world just don't work in this love story. I give her writing a 5+. It was the distractions that moved it to a four.

Promises to Keep is the second book in the Love in Provence series by Patricia Sands. I read and thoroughly enjoyed Love in Provence, so I was looking forward to reading Promises to Keep. As I had hoped, it did not disappoint.
Promises to Keep continues where Love in Provence left off. Katherine has returned to France to start a life with Philippe. This entire book is a love story. It is a love story between Katherine and Phillip, a love story between Katherine and France, and a love story between Katherine and the French people that she meets. I admit, I am drawn to anything about France (even though I have never been there), so I find all the little details so enthralling.
I love reading about the traditions in France and the gorgeous countryside. I’m not really a romance reader, but putting the romance in France, definitely adds to it’s appeal. There is also a bit of a conflict to stir the story up a bit. Besides being a love story, it’s also about a woman in her fifties, restarting and redeveloping herself. Finding the woman she is that was lost during her marriage.
There’s a bit of everything for everyone in this story. Completely charming.

Katherine's story continues! Katherine has an opportunity to return to France for another home exchange. Despite having doubts about going, she is given a final encouragement because of changes in her employment. Molly accompanies her for the first two weeks of a three month stay.
Oh Wow, the beautiful descriptions of the landscapes and countryside. I could almost see the beautiful colors and feel the warm sun on the beaches. The decadence of the foods, wines, coffees, deserts,...you get the idea. The daily details are a feast for the senses.
In this second book, Katherine has a 'love' interest, or maybe a bit of lust? She decides to break away from her imposed solitude and takes a chance on a bit of companionship, and Uh-oh...trouble!
Katherine unexpectedly connects with Philippe again! There are some wonderful day trips and Katherine clicks away with her camera, she purchases a new bike and is enjoying the freedom of being on her own, experiencing new adventures, and discovering she is a strong woman and she can make it on her own. But ohhh, Philippe....love is in the air!
I will start on Book three tomorrow!

Enjoyably informative light read....
As a piece of my prep for my own trip to Provence, the first two books in this series have helped enhance my sense of what to expect--aside from the romance-- through a lighthearted story that grows on you, avec un peu français included in the narrative. I already have pictures of several regions and historic sites dancing in my head.....

Okay, my bags are packed and I am ready to go spend Christmas in France. Promises to Keep (Love in Provence Series, Book 2) by Patricia Sands firmly established in my mind at least, that this author could write a story happening anywhere in the world and make me desire to go there!
This is a continuation of The Promise of Provence. It is still as much of a love affair with a country and its people as it is with a man. Though for Philippe, he seems older and less perfect in this story, so it is more believable. There is also more intrigue or mystery in this story from the first when the focus was so much on Katherine finding herself and her confidence after a bitter betrayal.
The first book ending seemed complete even though I could imagine what would happen to these two. This story has a bit more of a cliffhanger, so Katherine and Philippe’s story is not finished yet.
