Have you ever stuck things in your ears and nose? Or thought about doing it? Well, don't. Your ears are meant to hear voices and sounds ... not to store toys, gadgets and critters. Your nose is designed to smell yummy things ... and warn you to away from something that might be icky. Anything else you cram in doesn t belong there.
Don't stuff stuff in your ears, Don't stick sticks up your nose. Even though it's tempting, That's not where that stuff goes.
Theres no getting around it. Kids are curious and kids will be kids. But this can lead to putting themselves at risk for serious injury-not to mention costly healthcare expenses for Mom and Dad.
After 17 years of practice, Dr. Jerald Altman is never amazed by what kids will put into their nose and ears. Through fun illustrations and clever rhyming schemes, Don't Stick Sticks Up Your Nose! Don't Stuff Stuff In Your Ears! is the perfect way to teach kids not to put dangerous objects where they don't belong.
DR. JERALD ALTMAN is an Otolaryngologist-Head and Neck Surgeon (ENT Doctor). After publishing many peer-reviewed journal articles, he recognized the need for a children's book dealing with a common problem in his practice.
Dr. Altman is recognized as a Phoenix Top Doc. He is a general Otolaryngologist and he loves taking care of children's ear, nose and throat issues. The idea for this book came from his pediatric patients and their incessant need to put things where they shouldn't go!
My Review: Every household and nursery schools with a toddle should have a copy of “Don't Stick Sticks Up Your Nose! Don't Stuff Stuff In Your Ears!” This will help educate them before they start to experiment with a bean up their nose or trying to fit something into their ears.
The story told in rhyme is about keeping things like plants, food, small toys, rocks, pencils etc out of their ears and noses. Stuff like these can be very harmful to a child. Children must be taught that their ears are meant for listening/hearing and nose for smelling. The illustrations are funny, bold and colorful. I high recommend this book for classroom teaching.
FTC Disclosure: I received a review copy of this book from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review. I was not monetarily compensated for my opinion in any way.
I won Don't Stick Sticks Up Your Nose! Don't Stuff Stuff In Your Ears! By Jerald S. Altman, M.D. and Richard Jacobson from Goodreads. Children will giggle while learning an important lesson when reading Don't Stick Sticks Up Your Nose! Don't Stuff Stuff In Your Ears! By Jerald S. Altman, M. D. and Richard Jacobson. A froggie up your nose? There's an illustration of that! A pencil in your ear? There's an illustration of that, too. Yet, while children may laugh at the illustrations and appreciate the rhythm of the rhyme, they are sure to take away the lesson that they should never put objects where they don't belong and that they should protect their ears, eyes, and nose. This is a wonderful, quick read. Adults who want to teach children these important lessons will find this book by Altman and Jacobson to be an effective resource.
A good, informational book for kids- especially kids with a tendency to stick things in their nose or ears.
What I liked: It rhymed. It was silly, which will help keep kids' attention. It was informational.
What I didn't like: The illustrations. They are very amateurish. The fact that the same line(paragraph?) is repeated so many times- unnecessarily repeated in many cases.
I received a copy via the Goodreads First Reads program.

This ain't advanced biochemistry. This book has one job and it does it in the only way we know how: chanting the title over and over again. Nothing wrong with that 'cause it's a kids book. Just ask my baby cousin.
Also extra points for the Jewish joke near the end. That will never slide in college campuses.
