More than I expected.
This book was recommended by a friend and looking at the cover it's probably not a book I would have read on my own.
It wasn't exactly what I expected, it was more and I found at the end I wanted more, an epilogue maybe...
This book finds nineteen year old Madeline heading off to become a mail order bride, her husband to be is Robert Cortège an incredibly rich handsome man in his late thirties. Madeline can't understand why such a man would want to marry her but he does and so she finds herself on a train travelling the six hours to her new future.
I liked both Madeline and Robert and the way their story was told, it was beautiful and incredibly hot and sensual.
The only real issue I had came with Victoria I felt she was a little too much, I appreciate this is a short book and therefore there wasn't much space for secondary character development which is another case for making it longer. There was also a slightly 'yuk' moment but if I'm being honest it fit in with the rest of the book and didn't bother me that much.
I think this is the first book I've read by this author but when I've finished my review I'll be checking out her other works.
I always tell myself not to really comment on covers because invariably they change leaving my review talking about a nonexistent one but I can't let this one pass. This cover doesn't, in my opinion do this book any favours, I personally would have passed this by assuming it was more bdsm, not that I don't read bdsm books but I prefer longer ones with more depth.
The point I'm trying badly to make is that if you don't like bdsm don't be put off, while Robert is a man who knows exactly what he wants and that's an obedient wife this is a lovely read.
