Marvin A. "Marv" Wolfman is an award-winning American comic book writer. He is best known for lengthy runs on The Tomb of Dracula, creating Blade for Marvel Comics, and The New Teen Titans for DC Comics.
Gar's heart is not beating, but his brain lives on. The Teen Titans take the T-jet to Paradise Island for the purple ray..It is the only hope to save Gar. Of course, no man can touch the ground, so while Gar is carted off to the purple rays, Dick, Vic, and Wally decide to go to Africa to find those responsible for ending the Doom Patrol. This will help Gar in the long run.
Meanwhile, in the depths of hell, Hyperion breaks free from the stone pillar he has been encased in for 30,000 years. He is the sun god. He is smitten with Wonder Girl immediately and she him. Kory tries to break her free only to fail.
Hyperion is one of the original 12 Titans. The Titans battled Zeus and lost and were thus encrusted to stone. Now with Hyperion free, he returns to hell with Wonder Girl, kills the three Cyclops and frees the other 11 Titans.
Wonder Girl's mother and the rest of the Amazons vow to get Wonder Girl back.
We are left with a cliffhanger that will resolved int he next issue: Clash of the Titans!
Al final del número anterior Garfield quedaba herido en teoría mortalmente por Deathstroke. Es llevado para su sanación a Paradise Island donde el grupo se divide, mientras algunos le hacen el aguante en la isla, otros salen en busca de la Doom Patrol, extinta por aquelentonces. Despite the events of the previous issue bringing the Titans to this island, this really felt like a detour. Maybe those more familiar with Greek mythology would appreciate this issue.
