All The Lights We Cannot See: A Quick and Amazing Summary!
All the Light We Cannot See is a novel written by Anthony Doerr, an American writer, who managed to win Pulitzer’s Prize for Fiction for this novel. This is his second novel (after his novel, About Grace, which he wrote in 2004), which was published in 2014 and was critically well received, as The New York Times considered for it to be one of the bestseller novels in 2014, earning Doerr Pulitzer’s Prize For Fiction in 2015.
All the Light We Cannot See is a breathtaking, psychological love-war-drama novel, set both in pre-World War II and during World War II time. The story revolves around several characters, but the most important ones are Marie-Laure LeBlanc, a young girl who lives with her father, and young man named Werner Pfennig, a poor man whose life changes drastically after one day he discovers a broken radio receiver. The lives of the two intersect in a predictable yet very tense manner, and here comes the author’s ‘love-drama’ part, which Doer presents the readers in war-surrounded environment. The other ‘most important’ part of the novel is the mystery of something that is called ‘Sea of Flames’, a one hundred and thirty-two carat gold stone, which is connected with the legend that whoever carries it will be granted protection from death.
This article serves as a deep analysis of the two main characters, their relationship, the possibility of such relationship to be developed in a surrounding that is life-threatening and dangerous, and an in-depth description of World War II era and its atmosphere.

I didn't actually finish this book, but at over 150 pages in, I felt like the plot hadn't progressed at all and like I didn't want to invest any more time in it. I expected to love the book and have heard such great things about it, but the writing was too flowery and the plot too slow-moving for my taste.

Not a book I would of normally read but once I got past 50 pages it became really intriguing!!!! I've learnt things about WW2 and there were twists and turns in the book I didn't see coming!!!!

The chapters are short which also makes it a very quick read for anybody!!! 530 pages well worth reading!!!!

The book switches character perspective every few pages which is extremely difficult to keep up with. The imagery is nice but gets muddled in the constant back and forth of perspectives. The years also change often in a non linear fashion which is also difficult to keep up with. I found that I was having to search for pieces of story that described what I was reading since I didn't seem to get the full picture of why the information was shared.

I was very excited to read this book because of amazing reviews. I enjoyed it but I did not love it. I found parts of the book extremely slow and was disappointed at the ending. Nonetheless, the book was written beautifully. The characters were amazing and my imagination/visualization bloomed as I read.

It took me about a month to finish this book because i put it down halfway. Yea its beautifully written, but the pacing are so slow and every chapter are so short. It feels like every chapter is a summary of what happen to the character.

I highly recommend this read: a beautifully written account of the various tragedies having taken place during one of the worst times humanity has known, and the hope that never ceases to offset the gloom!

fantastic book following WWII through the thoughts of a blind, French girl with big dreams and a smaller, teenaged German boy who has a knack for electronics, namely transmitters, as their lives become closer to intertwined

This book brought me a new perspective on the Seconde World War and the trauma that so many people endured. I enjoyed reading the book more than i did finishing it there are a lot of loose ends and unsolves problems like Marie Laure's father that was sent of to te concentration camp and Fredericks life. This alternativly represents a realistical idea of how the war ended with people left with lifetime mental and physical scars along with so many unsolved questions. I also found the end very rushed and somewhat unforfilling. I did enjoy the way Worens death was left very openly and the way he took cre of the sea of flames?

Very good book, but i woudn't read again.

This book is very engaging and made me keep wanting to read more! It is full of metaphors, which really helped me think deeper into the story. It has a little bit of a slow start, but it is still worth a read. It takes place during World War II, so it is interesting to understand the lifestyle of this time period. It is a beautifully written book, and I definitely would recommend it!

Fantastiske skildringer! Anbefales!

This book was my first entry into a novelistic style which pertains to the world war era. It was a treat surely and I loved that it lived up to its name. Just felt (in my opinion) that it got slowed in the middle but over all it a nice journey with a taste of emotional ride. 💗

Devoured it, the 550+ pages were worth it despite the kind of rushed aftermath. Great tip for summer reading since it's very smoothly written

Storia incredibile. Non fatevi scoraggiare dalle prime 100 pagine per me un po' troppo lente, il resto lo divorerete...

Loved it, but thought the ending was terrible. It all seemed for nothing by the end and left me feeling pretty cheated.
