The book was sent to me by the author.

I generally don't enjoy reading or watching crime thriller and never seek them out on my own. But I found this book quite interesting. The first half is a little slow and has some avoidable scenes, but the second half is very engrossing.
What I liked best about Truth Underneath is the logical detailing and reasoning behind all the events in the story. The author has worked hard to make each and every event in the book logical and believable. Kudos to the author for that.
Another thing that shines clearly in the book is author's power of observation. He has clearly observed himself and his friends well and this is evident in the characterization of his young hero.
I do wish the book had got better editing and proofreading. It unfortunately has many typos as of now. Also, some scenes like the dream sequence in the beginning and the scene about the 'golden ink' seem to be very avoidable. But that's of course just my personal opinion.
On the whole, the book is very well planned and has a very interesting and engrossing story about a crime like no other. Perfectly suitable for a crime thriller movie!

Pratik has done well with his second book. Though the plot of the story is good the story telling is marred by the quality of the English language.
The characters have been defined well. Some of the dialogues were predictive and some were not required and some scenes could have been entirely removed.
A thorough professional editing would have gone a long way in making this book better. But the plot or the central idea of this book is quite commendable and the build up of suspense is alright.
A good read. I look forward to other books from Pratik.
