After my heart left

Rate this book
Beckett had started to believe that holding onto second chances would never play in his favor, especially after losing the one Beckett had started to believe that holding onto second chances would never play in his favor, especially after losing the person he loved most. He believed what came after his heart left was what he deserved—emptiness. But that all changed one night when Esmary crossed his path years later, only this time, she was in the arms of someone else. Would he take the chance he never quite got, or let her slip away again and allow his darkness to choose for him?

Esmary had struggled to convince herself that she had moved on after walking away from her heart. Her days not only passed her by, but they were consumed by thoughts of Beckett, no matter what she did or who she met along the way. Being near his fire again made her realize that the fire she had burned for him never went away. Would she take the chance and let him claim her heart again, or let him walk away with it?

My girl Sloane has done it again but man did she make us work for the hea!!! My goodness. 😂
I love Beckett so much, out of the three of the guys he is my favorite. I love his development (same for Esmary) throughout the series and I love how Sloane paints his healing journey. Healing is not linear and that spoke to me on so many levels.
I love this series so much and going through this roller coaster of a book made the ending so much sweeter.
The yearning was sooooo top tier. 😩 She always delivers on that part. I'm glad I took a chance on this series. This author is incredible.

A must-read!

I really enjoyed this book. This book made me cry, laugh, and want to smack sense into these fictional characters. Beckett and Esmary loved each so much but couldn'they out of their own way. I loved their story!

Gosh where do I start…

Beckett and Esmary have been living rent free in my head since I ready their first book.

I loved these two characters so much, the heartbreak, the longing, the distance was everything in this book. I couldn’t put it down just waiting for the suspense for the end to see if these two get their happy ending.

The book was everything I hoped for… but the only thing I wished was different is I really needed more of them falling back into place with each other and growing together. I feel like I missed out on the growth of Beckett coming to find himself and Esmary. The middle felt a little slow for me and the ending felt rushed. I wish we could have seen the healing for both of them through their eyes.

I loved Beckett and Esmary, they have a chokehold on me.
