Whatever It Takes

Rate this book
At twenty-six it seems Dara Luna has it all: she owns a successful private eye business and is the first Indigo Child to become a licensed Head Hunter for the FBI. But there is one thing that eludes her and that’s vengeance against the vampire who killed her grandfather as she helplessly stood by and watched.

Josef MacBain; a centuries old Werewolf and mercenary is hot on her trail. He was tipped off that she just might be the Alpha Mate he has been searching for. Now, he’ll stop at nothing to claim her as his own. It doesn’t matter to him who he has to sacrifice to possess her.

To save the daughter of a head Council of Elders member, Dara must face off against the vampire she has sworn vengeance on. The only problem is Josef is determined to stop her before she fulfills a destiny that could spell the end of the world as they know it. It’s a destiny that Dara knows nothing about and Josef wants to keep it that way. Too bad for the both of them that Dara’s mortal enemy plans to have her for himself…. Whatever it takes.

Whatever It Takes is a fast paced paranormal adventure, while yes there is some romance in the book I personally do not consider it a romance novel. It is so much more than that. There are vampires, fae, and werewolves. A prophecy to end all prophecies.
Whatever It Takes is the story of Dara, an Indigo Child. Follow her as she tries to save Sabine, a fae, from the clutches of Kristoff. Never knowing that he is using Sabine to get to his ultimate goal, her. You will be absorbed in the world of Dara as you watch her struggle with her past, her present, and her lust for Josef, a werewolf set on making her his alpha female.
Whatever It Takes has a world that comes alive with the descriptive words of Nicolette Scarletti. You can see the characters and feel the fear, the worry, the lust wafting off of them. Nicolette will walk you into a world you don't want to see disappear. The surprises in the book are too good for me to spoil. Trust me when I say you are in for a helluva ride when you open Whatever It Takes.
Nicolette wrote an amazing paranormal adventure that has a bit of everything that it takes to make it great and
I cannot wait for book 2 to come out so I can see where Dara's adventure takes her.
I was given this book in exchange for an HONEST opinion.

If you're looking for a fast-paced, action-packed paranormal romance that gives you a good story and likable characters, go ahead and pick up this book. This author is new to me so I wasn't sure what to expect but the writing style is easy to read and makes the book flow very smoothly.

When Dara Luna, private eye and Head Hunter of paranormals, is called in to rescue the daughter of a head council member, she will have to face her mortal enemy. The vampire that killed her grandfather. Set on vengeance, Dara is willing to trade herself for the release of the child and hopefully get close enough to destroy the vampire. But things are not what they seem and as more players become involved in the game, Dara realizes that she is outnumbered and outmatched.

At the risk of fulfilling a prophecy that could bring about the end of the world, Dara puts herself in harms way for the sake of the child. Only to be rescued at the last possible moment by a mercenary werewolf who has his own plans for her.

This book ends with quite a few unanswered questions which has me intrigued enough to continue the series. If you enjoy PNR books with more substance and story than sex I would highly recommend checking out this author.

Reviewed for Paranormal, Magic and Mischief blog.

I knew from the first page that I was going to like this book but actually, I LOVED it, the sarcastic tone of our heroine so appealed to me.
Dara finds herself having to deal with a possessive werewolf determined to claim her as his Alpha mate, a kidnapped Fae child and a ruthless vampire that's put a price on her head, why is everyone so interested in her ? Could it be to do with a prophecy that everyone seems determined to keep from the headstrong Dara ?
This is an incredibly good paranormal story, it's fast paced and well written, the characters are engaging and have chemistry, from attraction to hate or even just unspoken tension, it's all there and has you feeling it like it's your own. Each characters personality comes through loud and clear from the mysterious to the hot headed and the just downright evil !
I could not put this book down, to say I inhaled it is an understatement!
So, is it the kind of book I'd read over again ? Definitely Yes,
Do I want the next book, like, Yesterday ? HELL YES
A new year and a new author to my TBR list.

ARC for honest review.

I love paranormal and this book has it all. It dives straight in and now I'm left wondering what happens next.

I do have some issues though. Yes this book dived straight into the action but I was left wondering what was going on. There wasn't enough explanation on what had happened before we joined the story.
Who is sabine to dara before now?
I'd like a bit more info on how the indigo child came about and the blurb alludes that the wolf looking for data to be his mate has been hunting her for a while when in reality it's a decision he just made and they've known each other for year. I just think some parts need clearing up. Like the whole grandfather thing maybe throw in a dream/flashback of what happened because the info was fed to us in dribs and drabs and left me a bit confused.

This book however has left me intrigued about what's next? Who is the quiet man? Why did the vamp leave?

True blood had a relationship with Twilight and this book is a merger of that new life born to be. I was never much of a paranormal fan. I follow a couple of the writers, but Nicolette Scarletti left me wondering what happens now.
There is action and suspense, and minimal romance.

What I loved the most was the ability to relate to the characters, and get sucked inside the story. While my scale may not show it all, it is enough to tell you to run out an purchase your copy today.

Read to Me Book Blog rates this book 5 out of 5 stars.
Scale:
Hotness 3/5
Mystery/Action 3/5
Tissue Moments 3/5
Laugh out loud Moments 3/5
Ability to relate to the characters 5++++++/5
Authors ability to suck you into the story 5+++++/5

Wow, what can I say? I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review. I’m not a big paranormal reader but Nicolette Scarletti hooked me within the first chapter. This is like Twilight meets True Blood. Dara, the lead, is a smart mouth little Inbetween who probably really should keep her thoughts to herself but apparently, her brain to mouth filter is either broken or non-existent. I swear, her attitude had me laughing all the way through this read. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

I was lured into the story when the heroine rushed through marsh lands due to her stubbornness and yet was distracted enough to be fooled. Most females can relate to this character in one fashion or another; well I surely did. The page turning adventure along with seeing yourself as the character in ancient times kept me yearning for more and I wasn’t able to put the book down until I read the last page. This is a must read!
