Casting Magic: A Grazi Kelly Universe Novella: The Angela Tanner Files #1 by C.D. Gorri Witch Angela Tanner, is on a mission to rescue her falsely accused father of a crime with the help of Guardian Jody Nieves.

Casting Magic is an attention grabbing fast read that I could not put down.

I have always liked Angela’s character in Grazi Kelly Series and was excited to hear her story.  She is coming into her witch powers in this novella while under the pressure of finding the evidence to absolve her father of a crime, he did not commit.  Oh ya, and then throw in the hot Guardian they assigned to watch and help her.

Angela is hard not to like.  She is geeky and sweet.  She thinks she is nothing special and does not realize she is attractive.

I love that Jody appreciates Angela.  He is a powerful and gorgeous Guardian that could probably have any girl he wants.  He sees Angela’s beauty and intelligence.  He helps her even when he wasn’t required too.

The plot was really interesting and fast paced.  C. D. Gorri did an amazing job of filling this short story with tons of information, action, and excitement, despite only being 57 pages long.  I really want to read more about Angela and Jody.

So to give you an idea of how much I enjoyed this story, I love roller coasters.  I happened to be reading this story while waiting to get on Goliath at Six Flags Great America.  It was a ninety-minute wait.  I was actually relieved I finished the story before getting on the ride. That says something.

I loved this short.

Fast pace and full of heart pounding action I couldn't put this read down even though the hour was getting late and I had to get up early for work. (Oh work how you spoil and shorten my reading time.)

There is a ah ha moment in this book, if you've read all the Grazi Kelly novels then you know that Angela is Grazi's BF, and in the third book goes MIA. In this short the mystery is solve and are told why Angela goes off the map and, why Grazi can't get a hold of her. Makes me happy to know that Angela didn't ditch.

Aside from finding out where Angela went off too, we get to learn about her family, and how it isn't that perfect. But most of all we learn that our favorite red head, is actually a white witch. (I knew there was something fishy about her. )

Angela grows a lot through out this short. In a way she is shocked into growing up and opening her eyes to a hidden family secret that both breaks her heart and enlightens her at the same time. The growing pains are harsh, but, she deals with the problems with maturity beyond her teen years could even have prepared her for. She is rapidly moving up on my favorite female hero list.

The only thing I didn't quite like, or more so, not so much not like, but annoyed me, was the punch in the gut insta-love. Don't get me wrong I loved this coupled, and am rooting for them, I just found it happened too fast. And for me at times, it felt a little awarded. Again this is my personal opinion, as I am not a fan of the over used and unrealistic insta-love theme.

In all, this short is an extraordinary read, and a must read for fans of the Grazi Kelly novels. The writing is exciting, solid, and the plot is near perfection. There's no veering, and at no point is the goal placed on the get-to-it-later self, because the protagonist got suddenly distracted by unimportant, non plot things, like doing her nails. (You know what I mean, day-in-the-life crap that serves no purpose other then mindless filler.)

I highly recommend this short. As I said it's fast pace, action packed, with surprises around every corner. It is also deep look into how to love yourself, and how to get past the negative poison that we are condition into.

I can't wait for more stories from Angela's world, and I'm hoping that one day, they will fully cross over with Grazi; no more secretes.

Happy Reading

This was an amazing novella! I really loved this book! Wowza! I didn’t know what to think at first because truth be told I had no idea what to expect since this is a young adult title. Now, since this is written by literally one of the best authors in the paranormal romance category I knew I would still be in for a treat because my first undertaking into Gorri’s young adult world with G’Witches was a phenomenally good time with a very explosively good read! This one checked all of my boxes! Excellent world building even in a short novella, well thought out characters and a good amount of romance! Although I’m wondering about their age difference lol this was still quite a good story! Since Gorri is from New Jersey all of her stories take place there and this book took us to Morristown and I looked at pics of the places she referred to like Morristown Green eTc and got a good picture in my head on how things would appear in the book. I love that visual aspect of things. The book did end abruptly for me... I was expecting more, truth be told and now to be honest I want more of this series. Sighs, this woman corrupts me with every book I read. I want to see what happens and how her powers develop. Without going into spoiler city I bet she’s going to be quite powerful and I’m intrigued! If young adult is your thing then definitely pick this book up. Gorri is always a master author and when she writes I’m always transported into her stories. Every book is magic to me. 5 radiant stars from me!

This review is from: Casting Magic: A Grazi Kelly Universe Novella: The Angela Tanner Files # 1
This is a YA Paranormal (16+) audience story which I found very entertaining and it was fun to see the author continue to create storyline for Grazi's friends. Grazi Kelly has her own story in another book called Hunter Moon, but this story is about Angela who is Grazi's best friend but doesn't know that she is a witch.
Angela Tanner is a good witch and her parents are witches as well. Sherry is her hair stylist but also her witch mentor. Her father was accused of steeling an amulet and to prove his innocence, Angela and her assign guardian Jody had to find the amulet . In doing so Jody tells Angela that he finds her beautiful just the way she is and they kiss. They are running of time to save her dad and at the same time she starts to come into her own witch powers and what kind of witch she is. Jody stays and he helps her out until the end. What are you waiting for to find out what happens get yourself a copy of the book. Plus I can't wait to read the next book to come out.

>Review – Casting Magic: A Grazi Kelly Universe Novella -

>I am an independent reviewer. This is the first book in the Angela Tanner Files.

>Angela is a good witch. She is friends with Grazi, but neither girl will tell the other the truth about themselves. Angela must find a magical amulet in order to save her father. She has a guardian, Jody, helping her.

>I love when the heroine doesn't realize how awesome they are. Angela is put down by her step mom her whole life. She feels ugly and fat, until Jody reveals to he how beautiful she really is. This story is short, but the relationship between Jody and Angela was fun to watch. I hope more comes of their relationship in future books. The humor of having powers just accidentally flow out of you was funny too. Not knowing what to expect or what her powers will be, Angela tends to set things on fire rather easily.

>This novella is a great introduction to Angela and the witches. This book is recommended for a young adult (16+) audience.

>I am giving this book 5 stars

I received a copy of the ePub from the Goodreads author C. D. Gorri in exchange for an honest review.

Fans of C. D. Gorri’s Grazi Kelly series will enjoy The Angela Tanner Files #1 novella. Angela Tanner was introduced to readers as Grazi’s spirited friend. Her endearing character is perfect for a spin off. The reader discovers that she is indeed a witch. She is only just beginning to understand her paranormal powers. This well written quick read is a page-turner.
Angela’s father has been charged with the theft of a powerful amulet. Hunky Jody Nieves is introduced as Angela’s guardian. The chemistry between Angela and Jody is not a slow burn. The connection is instantaneous. They are a power couple in the making. Along the way they uncover secrets that will change their lives. But do they have the ability to save Angela’s father? Looking forward to the sequel to this original novella. Their journey is only beginning.

I'm a big fan of CD Gorri's work. This novel is set in the GRAZI KELLY world, but is a spin off of her best friend, Angela. Gorri has immersed the reader into this setting and has started this novella series in full stride. Fingers crossed that number two isn't far away!

Angela Tanner, a 17-year-old White Witch, is waiting for her powers to reveal themselves. As she is heading home, she meets Jody Nieves, a Guardian assigned to help her with a situation involving her father. She finds her father at a Witch Tribunal, bound in chains and accused of stealing an amulet. In order to free her father, Angela, with the help of Jody, is tasked with finding the object and stealing it back so that it can be returned to the proper owners. But they don’t give her very much time! Will she be able to complete her task and save her father? Will Jody be able to help her with her developing powers?

This was an enjoyable story with likable characters and lots going on! With her powers not stabilized yet, it’s a good thing she has Jody by her side. It would be even better if she gets to keep him there!

Angela is a 17-year-old White Witch whose powers have not shown up yet. On her way home, she is attacked by a creature with no eyes but is saved by Jody, the Guardian assigned to her. Jody takes her to a Witch Tribunal where Angela finds her father bound in chains and accused of stealing an amulet belonging to another Witch family. Angela has hours to find and return with the amulet. This is a story full of teenage angst plus some freaky happenings. Highly recommended.

Missing Magic

I have read others of the interlinked series written by C.D. Gorri and love the imaginative way she has created her world, by pointing out the things within our own universe that are hidden to us mere mortals. I don't think mentioning the heroine is a witch will prove a spoiler based on the book title. She is, in fact, a teenager who hasn't come into her own nor discovered her talents. Somehow stress (or hormones?) seem to spark them and thereby hangs our tale. While each novella stands on its own, the more of them you read, the more fully you understand the workings and the greater picture.

Angela is a young witch yet to come into her powers. When she learns that her father has confessed to a crime that his wife committed, the theft of the Naga Amulet, she needs to find it to save her father. With the help of the Guardian Jody, and her own ability to sense magic, she learns and uncovers more than she ever imagined. Casting Magic is a quick, short read that introduces you to Angela. Naga sounds like he will be perfect for her, and will be able to help her overcome her insecurities. I think with some minor editing to fix some inconsistencies, repetitiveness, and spelling mistakes, it will read much smoother. Overall the book is enjoyable and a good lead in to the series.

Angela Tanner is a witch who doesn't have her powers yet. Angela receives her powers in an unusual way which is causing problems she didn't expect or want. Jody Nieves is a guardian sent to help Angela with her powers. Can Angela learn to cope with her powers? Can Jody help Angela? Your answers await you in Casting Magic.

Short and sweet story with great energy and enthusiasm. Modern paranormal romance with an edge. The characters and story were complex, complicated, intriguing, raw, real, bold, and rich. I look forward to more from this author in the future.

Casting Magic is the story of Angela Tanner. Angela along w/her guardian Jody are on a mission to locate a missing amulet that her father is accused of stealing. Along the way, Angela discovers she is a witch with unique powers that have not been seen in her coven for hundreds of years. She also learns a family secret that changes how she sees herself as well as her life in general.

The story is fast paced with plenty of action. A nice addition to the Grazi Kelly universe.

A story with a lot of life.

This book might be little but it's full of vim and vigour. The female lead is a fantastic character who females, both young and old, can look at with admiration. The male lead is strong and good looking and has the good sense to know what he likes when he sees it.

A story I highly recommend. I am eagerly looking forward to reading the next Angela Tanner file.

This is a great read if you are a fan of the Grazi Kelly novels. Angela is Grazi's best friend. She disappears at one point in the storyline of that series and this book fills in the gaps. It is a quick read with a great storyline that really lets you get to know more about Angela.

I enjoyed it and highly recommend the series if you haven't already discovered it. They are all great books for YA and adults like me who enjoy good characters and interesting storylines.
