A simple, sweet story of redemption, forgiveness, and finding love. Many people would say that meeting and falling in love so quickly is ridiculous; that love doesn't happen that way; that soul mates don't exist. But as one who recognized my own love and future the first day we met, I can say that Nick and Rona's connection and growth is possible. Just as Nick and Gary's finding of each other after they were so very lost. This is not a complicated or exciting story, but it is a story of how God brings lost souls together after great trials to create a loving future.

I recently came across this book in my huge TBR pile! It's a quick read. I found some good themes about forgiveness and not giving up on loved ones. Nick lost his wife a few years previously and knew she wasn't happy in their marriage but didn't know why. His teenage son saw the accident that took her life and has been closed up and angry ever since. Nick has tried to connect with him but it's been difficult. He meets Rona at a diner on her first day in town and has an immediate connection with her. She seems to need a protector and he doesn't know why! Rona has moved to the small town to escape her sad life and hopes that this move will be good for her. Meeting Nick and other townspeople help her to reconnect her with her faith. I liked the description of the Michigan islands and how Rona helps Nick and his son figure things out.

I absolutely love this novel , just because this is a Christian novel doesn’t mean it’s not worth reading at least once in a persons life. I wish that A Christian Director like Kirk Cameron( If he was a Direct ) could, Should and Would turn this Novel in Movie cause it’s that breathtaking plus it’s got
Romance and Tragedy and Family values the works ! !

This is a super good fast read book. It is the story of Rona who is trying to hide from her brother. Also, the story of Nick whose wife was killed in a skiing accident. Also, about Gary, Nick's son who blames himself for his mom's accident. Rona, Nick, and Gary have some hidden agenda to clear up before things are right in their house.

didn't realize til now that it was part of a series, and NOT the 1st book. can't imagine what characters that were in it would have come from previous books, either! anyway ...

i found this one a little too unbelievable in how most of it went down, and so quickly. if that sort of thing doesn't bother you, tho, should make a VERY quick, easy, lite summer read

I wanted to like this book. I did but I couldn't. I enjoyed the characters and the basis of the story but it just didn't mesh with me. This book was ridiculously slow moving and some of the super conservative Christian values (like no smoking, drinking, or gambling) were kind of shoved down your throat.

This was a cute story. Kind of slow, but I still enjoyed getting to know the characters. It was definitly a written as a Christian novel. Glad I read it but probably won't read again.

Though I originally love romance-suspense books,
this, by the way, is so good.
I really love to read those portions {not just the declarations of love by both parties} the characters love for one another is being founded in God's love.
