What does being ready for Jesus's return really mean?
Jesus clearly prophesied that prior to his return the whole Church will be asleep (Mt. 25:5); not just the foolish virgins, but the wise as well. So why is the Church asleep, and what are the consequences?
In Are We Ready for Jesus? How to Prepare for His Return, Nelson Walters offers an explanation, and challenges the Church to wake up and begin preparing for the most important event the world will ever see.
Many Christians are apathetic because they believe, “Hard times won’t affect me.” • Find out exactly how the end times will affect you, and what to do about it. • Uncover THE sign of Jesus’s return. • Learn how to evade deception from within the Church and from false messiahs, and how to avoid “falling away.” • Discover the signs leading to the rise of the Antichrist and learn where we ought to be looking for him. • Recognize the importance of attitude in enduring the coming storm, realize the key role of Israel, and how we need to respond to God’s people.
Jesus commanded us over thirty times to be observant and watchful for his return. Heed the warnings and make sure you’re ready.
Are We Ready for Jesus was written to help the Church better understand how to prepare for the return of Jesus. The majority in the church believe that making a profession of faith in Jesus is all that one needs to do to prepare. The book explains that although that is a fundamental aspect of preparation, there is much, much more to it. A central theme to the book is the fact that Jesus prophesied that his followers would fall asleep prior to his return. This drowsiness of the Church has caused it to misunderstand numerous factors about Jesus’ return. The book discusses many startling aspects of what Jesus really said about his gospel, persecution, missions, the rapture, signs of his coming and Israel.
Nelson is director of Ready For Jesus Ministries, a network of thousands world-wide dedicated to helping churches understand and prepare for Jesus's soon return. He teaches and speaks on the application of bible prophecy from a gospel-focused, Middle East-centric perspective. He also encourages and exhorts the Church on the Blog, The Gospel in the End Times.
Are we ready for Jesus? Are we prepared of his Second Coming? The author Nelson Walters believes that we're not.
His scripture- and scholar-based book, "Are We Ready for Jesus?", explains to use and goes into detail on how we need to prepare ourselves for the Second Coming. Walters discusses six crucial points: 1) The Church is asleep; 2) The Gospel is our treasure; 3) We're to adjust our attitude; 4) We are not to believe popular prophecy myths; 5) We are to watch for the signs of Jesus' return; and 6) We are to bless and support our brother Jacob (a reference to Israel).
By taking each crucial point, Nelson Walters describes in detail what we, as Christians, and what the clergy can do to better prepare ourselves. The cumulation of all six points gives a better understanding of the work that is at hand.
Walters also reminds us that as Christians, we are accepted into our faiths' pre-determined decision of our Lord's Second Coming; however, if we believe in Christ, accept his word, and do what is needed, then we will be saved.
"Are We Ready for Jesus" is beautifully written and given to us with terms that all can understand. It doesn't come off as a sermon, nor it does not yell at you like some TV Evangelists.
Highly recommended for those who are one with their faith.
I received this book as a first read. It's a well written, well researched, and fast paced read. It asks good questions about what both we and our congregations are doing to prepare for the return of Jesus. It cites relevant Bible passages about the second coming. It provides tips and a plan for things we should be doing to prepare, warns us to be alert, and warns us not to be deceived by false signs. It ties in history and current events. Some of the data breakdowns were really interesting - like the list of predicted dates of the endtimes that were wrong or the list of empires that tried to thwart God's plan. I especially enjoyed all of the charts, graphs, tables, and visuals. A thought provoking read for all Christians.
